GboyegaD:Do you stay around Festac And in what LG/LCDA is Festac again He's done things aplenty in your neighborhood. I'll get some for you later in the day. Good morning.UPDATE: In Ojo Ijegun jetty (under construction) Ilashe jetty (under construction) Nnewi road (rehabilitated) Adeniran Ogunsanya COED road ( rehabilitated) Ariyo-Ira-Muwo-Tedi roads (constructed) Olojo drive/Alaba international market road (rehabilitated) Ojo Igbede road (rehabilitated) Ilogbo road/Aka street (fixed) Lasu-Iba road (fixed) In Amuwo Odofin: Ilado jetty (under construction) Ajeromi Ifelodun secretariat roads ( rehabilitated) Iyalode street ( rehabilitated) Mobil road (fixed) These are some projects I know Sanwo Olu has done/is doing in your neighborhood. I'm not sure of anything ongoing at Festac but that doesn't rule out the fact that there could be something. Thanks |
GboyegaD:Now you just shot yourselves in the foot. You can't be in Lagos and not be aware that the LASG focus their development activities on all LGs and LCDAs. Or what part of the state doesn't have a couple of projects on going in it ![]() One's certainly going on in your neighborhood now whatever the LG/LCDA you might want to claim you reside in; if you insist you live in Lagos. |
nograv:Mr abroad traveller, you seem to make a big mount out of a little mole hill. Lagos was neglected and suffered because it was under the rules of individuals focusing their interest on creating another city right in the late 70s till the late 90s as I stated; and that's a different ball game from the time it got into the hands of people caring for its growth since the turn of the century despite still suffering the same neglect from the FG. Both situations had different results. The first incident saw its sharp decline because those at the heart of its management were only enriching themselves while the other has seen its resurrection into the limelight of progressive development simply because these set are developments-oriented. And how much did you know about the abroad you boast about How many countries have you visited Anyway, that's not the point of contest now. You should know Lekki peninsula generally is a new development and to burst your bubbles, there are developments around Lagos now with 24/7 power supply, water and sewage treatment plants, wastes to energy plants and quality standards of living. Perhaps, you might have to google Alaro city, Mayeegun beach estate, Osolu city, iibc, orange island, periwinkle island, Ikoyi foreshore estate, diamond island, upcoming Adron Eko city, Carlton estate, banana island and the almighty Eko Atlantic City among others.Chill buddy, Lagos is not there yet but it's definitely bridging the gap between itself and a true smart city development. And that's what that matters. Again, Lagos would never experience stagnation because its positioning itself for self sufficiency. |
... Lagos state moving forward all the time. God bless Lagos state #ForAGreaterLagos GboyegaD:If many projects being unveiled since he took office are "audio " what do we call the unseen/little activities of the goons across the Niger, looting away the future of the generations present and unborn, of their people ![]() Better shed away your cloak of impersonation and stay true to your lineage. Only a bastard denies his lineage according to a Yoruba proverb. Eko Oni Baje O |
nograv:The point is: did it stop Lagos progressing then? If Lagos could engaged in massive infrastructural revamp then and still have the liberty to do free medical services for people with visual impairment, with glasses donated to the patients, then, I don't see it stagnant because the same thing occurred against it especially now that it's created multiple revenue generating sources making it much more financially stable than it ever was in the past. Don't confuse yourself, Lagos ain't stopping progression for anything: it's a moving train. May God continue to bless Lagos state Eko Oni Baje o... Aa tunbo maa dara si ni |
foreshore:From your upended brain, journalism is incomplete until the location of any facility being reported has being explicit to the main address SMH. The article already stated that it was in VI. Yet your foolishness still needs address. That's the reportage of Ronaldo's hotel in Marrakech, Morocco: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.africanews.com/amp/2020/12/28/ronaldo-s-new-hotel-in-marrakech. Read and take your foolishness off my mentions |
nograv:Stop spreading misinformation. Even though you're right about Abuja being carved out for the FCT in the late 70s hence the concentration of the common wealth on the new city which in a nutshell led to the abandonment of Lagos state facilities and development by the FG but it's quite wrong to attribute the recovery phase to a baseless focus from the central government. Point blank, Lagos suffered slow development during its FCT days and lost a sizeable number of FDI too. The progress pre-independence was quite commendable hence the numbers of foreign investment in the land but FG made lots of poor decisions which led to the reductions in these investments as well as the local ones. Economy suffered greatly as a result of this unstable government policies. By the time it was ready for the fourth republic, the infrastructural deficit has been absolutely obvious especially when there was unstoppable increments in the population despite. The Tinubu administration took up a crumbling city but quickly corrected the mistakes mostly committed by the military leaders. Note that the FG ceased fund into the state coffers despite the state itself generating a massive revenue for the FG outside oil but with the acumen of Tinubu, the recovery started. Roads were being reconstructed in portions the people were never accustomed with. Heritage centers were being revamped; workers salary which has been problematic became constant ever since; working conditions in the state started impressive improvement; introduction of free medical care started for residents (with JIGI BOLA- a program targeted at optical patients); town planning improved; the state industrialization enliven again and the state introduced partnership programs to accelerate development. Remember, all these started from Tinubu administration even without FG allocations even though when fund was later released during Fashola era, things accelerated greatly. But it was nothing bigger than they shared to other state. And mind you, Lagos state was opposition to the central government all these while. Did Lagos stagnated then No! So stop spreading misinformation about FG funding Lagos state since Fashola and stop your useless argument about non- happening Lagos stagnation. Your evil wish over the state would never come to pass.God bless Lagos state God bless all South Western States of Nigeria God bless all Yoruba land |
Good development. Hope it comes to pass. And i hope Ondo state can secure partnership over the seaport too. They need it to push Agro-industry, commerce and manufacturing in the state. |
Shikena:What's sound about his dumb argument SMH. Like you pointed, things can only go wrong if the communication center/control room fail in its duty, a situation which would also cause trouble(s) even if the lightrail system runs on a dedicated lines throughout its trip to and fro point A and B.Besides, he's got to go through the details of the setup before turning himself to a fairytale prophet-of-doom. The tracks have four lines of which two are dedicated for outward movements while the other two are dedicated to inward movements. What this means is that the train and the tram could move around the same time without damage with them reporting at the same station on different lines. And mind you, the link into Ikeja and the downward one down to Oyingbo/Iddo are lines specifically being constructed by Lagos state for only the light rail. And lastly, even in Europe and the USA that we classified as advance and organized, rail lines crossed and/or shares ROW at some point. So why's he getting headaches over event he mightn't be directly affected by. With the number of people coming down to the island from Agbado on a daily basis, this is about another grand decision from the governor. May God bless him. And may God continue to bless Lagos state. |
foreshore:Of all the mentioned facilities the center are said to be equipped with, your headache is the address that wasn't mentioned. Jeez! Some dudes can't stop amazing me. |
psychologist:The focus here is: "what do people want?" If the government leaves the road pending the completion of the others, you people would still talk. Infact, in a recent thread, this particular road is among the mentioned as needing government immediate interference. Yet here you are, still blaming the same government for responding to call to duty. No pessimism would stop Lagos state developing. God bless Lagos state |
Proud of this state, my state. Proud of my heritage. Eko o ni baje o |
Saw this on their website sometimes last week. There was an additional message of an ongoing project at Epe which is a farm store where fish fingerlings (especially tilapia, catfish and mackerel) are to be sold to farmers in the state. The stock would also involve fish feeds, poultry feeds, and farm tools and equipments, including tractors, ploughers, planters, fertilizer and varieties of seeds also to be sold to farmers in the state at affordable prices for efficient and sustainable food security. With the way this administration focus on development of almost all sectors and with their resilience towards making their vision a reality, it's obviously clear that the future of Lagos State is truly bright. May God continue to bless Lagos state and all South Western States of Nigeria. Eko Oni Baje O...A tunbo maa dara si ni. |
kayjay69:Then create another thread for it and let people discuss it; why made my mention the bearer of that fury of Fashola perceived governorship mismanagement when all I did was correcting wrong impression against APC by stating that PDP is the crook this particular thread is fingering out Besides, I ain't defending FASHOLA AND APC too but pointing out the comprehension issues of majority who had started lambasting APC wrongly for the sin of another which is PDP.Don't get emotional, stop accusing me of traits you're beginning to show. You suddenly go defensive over a single comment correcting wrong impression while you leave the ones accusing the other party; isn't that hypocrisy Yet you accuse me of defending the party being accused wrongly. If APC is bad, create a thread for it with verifiable evidence but don't point wrong accusations against it because people would always call it out. |
ThumbzTNA:Always remove Lagos from your BullShiit whenever you intend to mention your oil developed state. Lagos development started long before amalgamation of Nigeria; check out your records, and it was self sufficient all along with its vast economic prowess. Besides, Lagos was not just wealthy but popular all along. So spare Lagosians the bulllshit of OUR OIL MONEY wail. |
kayjay69:Chill, buddy. Many comments were lambasting APC and Fashola erroneously, you don't call them to reasoning but when one comment fingered out the real culprit, you got defensive. Whether APC is corrupt or not is another point of discussion entirely but this thread is pointing patently at the corruption level of PDP. Basic The Op must've misjudged to present the thread in the hope of roping in Fashola but the article was clear. The past administration was a disaster. |
Ravern:The money was set aside to pay the construction company that is requesting for balance. That's why when RCCG petitioned, the senate had to call all parties involved for clarification. It ain't Fashola's fault that his pre-administration project has issues; and well, there's no sufficient data he can fall back to in order to get quick information about any road project he mightn't be aware of until the company showed up. |
Comment so far show people hardly read or comprehend what they read. Contract was awarded in 2010 by PDP but was abandoned after part-payment of N145 was paid to the company. RCCG took up the road project in 2016 shortly after Buhari and Fashola took to office and executed the project for 3 year with it delivered in 2019. Apparently, the church is just learning of the payment to the construction company hence the alarm. Now pay attention to this, PDP contracted the company to execute the project for N600m in 2010 while RCCG delivered the same with only over N188m between 2016 to 2019 when cost of materials might've been higher. Ain't that incredible! One word for PDP folks. |
This Op wicked pass Wike... As in really wicked. How can you bring such a news up when people are happily prepping up for Easter? Now some lots would spend their festive period in wail and pain. Those pathetic lots don't know each plot they make is pushing us to the glory land. Let's watch them continue to plot to their impending destruction. When they eventually landed in the pit they fail to see, their eyes would open by then. God bless Asiwaju Bola Hamed Tinubu God bless Lagos state God bless all South West states of Nigeria God bless all Yorubas Ile Oodua a gbewa o! |
StaffofOrayan:Did I insinuate that private investment isn't for the aim of profit making The post i quoted said something about South Africa having six refineries in order to belittle Nigeria hence my response. It's one thing to state fact and yet it's another thing to make wrong assertions.Dangote refinery would make Nigeria the biggest player in the oil and gas field in Africa. Fact. But that's also taking into consideration all other privately owned refineries on stream or being constructed in the country right now. Whether it's having positive impact on the price of the commodities is another discussion entirely. |
StaffofOrayan:And how many refineries does Nigeria has? Remember, I'm talking about privately-owned ones. |
Nice one, governor Sanwo Olu. Little kindness often goes a long way. This will encourage others to sit up too as they would've seen what dedication to work could achieve/ earn an individual at the end of the day. God bless Lagos State #ForAGreaterLagos Eko Oni Baje O |
Proud to be a Yoruba; proud to be a Lagosian; proud of my root, everyday anywhere. God bless Lagos State God bless all South Western Nigerian State God bless all Yoruba indigenes Eko Oni Baje O...Atunbo maa dara si ni |
RuudVanNisteroy:Same old book. You guys just dive into an ocean of discuss broader than your IQ only to drag one about for a mud fight. At least, try show others the "PIG" tag on you is inappropriate for once. Just once. You brought an argument, someone's here to challenge you for a broader insight into what you opined ( because the comments I gave merely seek your broader explanation and conviction) only for you to crumbled into your people natural state of insult and hate. Again I repeat, only a fool would stop taking action because a previous situation is unfavorable. Calling such a fool, itself, is even an understatement. You can continue throwing tantrums like a little kid, no one cares. I never expected better anyway. |
RuudVanNisteroy:Why won't someone have your so-called "reading comprehension issues" especially with this grammatical structure of yours. Again you have to look into the mirror to find whoever does. Must everything be spelt to you before you understand you're arguing off course. If those parties are no good choice, which of the parties remaining have the youth created, which of them ain't under some old goons, and which of them can you recommend the youth to vote for What are the agendas the party stands for and how do they plan to introduce them into the future Or is quality of your IQ not telling you stupidity is when you clamor for people to stop their activities without providing obviously good alternatives for them Or does it mean they don't have to vote before they look wise to you Just continue, your people are very proud of your IQ now. SMH at the level of foolishness. |
RuudVanNisteroy:You should've posted this with another moniker but not this very one. This moniker is anti APC, anti Yoruba and anti Tinubu combined, so you should know no sane Omoluabi would take you serious. And talk about anyone with low IQ, I suggest you look into your mirror, the said guy would be standing right in front of you unblocked. How do you intend to mobilize to upset parties already formed and are already strategically positioning plans for the next election just around the corner with your FAIRLY-TALE PARTY no one has dared to form yet let alone preparing and promoting the agenda to achieve their vision of the future they would want. Just after then can they think of mobilizing for recognition, respect and support. Or is your IQ not telling you redundancy is foolishness. |
BossJamal:Perhaps you must've quoted the wrong person. Look again at the comment I posted and tell me where I mentioned gutters or substandard flyover. Don't be blinded by emotion, read again. Infrastructure breeds development, that's what I opined and it wasn't to attack your theory nor support it. It was only there to state facts exactly the way it is. If any part is wrong, point it out, let's discuss but don't tag a notion I didn't push forward onto me. |
owobokiri:My bad for seeing that much, bro. Forget and let's move on. ****fist bump **** |
The term development represents the presence or provision of facilities/infrastructures meant to achieve smooth and convenient standard of living. So roads, bridges, schools, pipe borne water, electricity, stadiums, rail systems, recreational facilities, medical facilities, research center, manufacturing/production strength, housing, city planning, commercial and technological infrastructure, eco-friendly facilities et all are all agents of development. All these are also put into consideration when rating cities and when considering whether an urban area is ready for the city tag. Simply put, facilities breeds development. |
SuperBold:Don't let them come for your head o. That "rame" you mentioned is the "leason" they attack anything "Tilumbu", "Ragos" and all potential South West potential presidential aspirants for the 2023 "erection". Bunch of losers they are. Peter Obi that they should rather be selling to others; hell no, hating on others is their daily dose. They don't miss it. Anyway, they still got more years to wail 'cause we'll trump them all over again come 2023. |
This administration may not have been able to solve the security crisis in the country particularly in the north but in infrastructural development, they're working. Rail now working again, many modular refineries built, improvement in Agricultural output, more interstate roads reconstructed, economically sustainable bilateral agreements signed et all. Nigeria will work again if we continue on our developmental focus and strides. God bless Nigeria God bless the South West Nigeria God bless Lagos State God bless all Yorubaland |
Liposure:If stress is the factor you're considering, then this waterway system is better. First of, ten minutes would've elapsed before the flight negotiates its way out of our airspace unlike your wrong calculation and by the time it locate, seek landing permission and eventually landed at the arrival port, it would've gulped more than twenty minutes. Factor in the fact that they would have to check out, you're looking at more than forty minutes. Then, when you throw in the fact that they'll need to board another transport facility (bus in this case which would also sap more of their time and energy to get ready irrespective of the preparation in place for them) to take them from the airport in Cotonou to Port Novo, you understand the waterway is less consuming in respect to cost, stress, logistics and time efficiency. It won't hurt to look at all situations critically before condemning anything. Moreover, know that planes/jets et all do crash too and its accidents are always the most fatal of all transport systems. |
