PoliticsRe: We Can't Fight Boko Haram Alone: APC Defends Buhari's Trip To Chad, Niger by philips70(m):
Firefire:
You see those pathetic liars called APC

Dr. Goodluck Jonathan was accused for seeking support and visiting Chad.

Fellow Nigerians,

Please be the judge.

Why is Alhaji Lie Mohammed always biased since 1994 ?
Quit lying, I corrected one of your aggrieved friends in the morning.

Jonathan under attack for visiting Chad with Sheriff

SEPTEMBER 10, 2014 : JOHN ALECHENU, ADE ADESOMOJU AND RAMON OLADIMEJI

President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday came under fire over the presence of a former Borno State Governor, Ali Modu-Sheriff, at a meeting he held with Chadian President Idris Deby in Ndjamena on Monday.

The President’s spokesman, Dr. Rueben Abati, had in a statement on Sunday said that Jonathan was travelling to Chad to discuss how to combat insurgency in Nigeria with Deby.

A picture on Abati’s twitter handle early on Tuesday showed that Modu-Sheriff was present at the Ndjamena meeting.

Among those that berated the President were the opposition All Progressives Congress, lawyers and civil society groups.

Their anger was predicated on the fact that the former governor was recently accused by an Australian hostage negotiator, Steven Davis, of allegedly sponsoring Boko Haram.

Shortly after the allegation, there were calls by the All Progressives Congress and some civil society groups for the arrest and prosecution of Sheriff.

Last Thursday, the Department of State Security invited the former governor to defend the allegations.

But when the picture of the Ndjamena meeting surfaced, the APC slammed Jonathan for hobnobbing with the ex- governor.

The APC , in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, demanded an explanation from the Presidency.

It accused the President of exhibiting a shocking act of indiscretion by hobnobbing with Sheriff who is not known to have been investigated and cleared of the allegation against him.

The party wondered what message Jonathan was sending to his compatriots and indeed the international community by taking Sheriff to Chad for a meeting against terrorism.

The statement partly read, “This action by President Jonathan confirms what the APC has always believed: That he either knows more than he is willing to admit on the issue of those who are behind the Boko Haram insurgency or he is willing to sacrifice the battle against terrorism on the altar of political expediency.

“Either way, this action by the President is the height of indiscretion at best, or a palpable exhibition of callowness at worst.

“It also confirms our fears that Sheriff was planted as a mole in the APC by his friends in high places, who are jittery about the birth of the party and would do anything to destabilise it.”

The APC said the President could not pretend not to be aware of a report sent home by Nigeria’s Defence Adviser in Ndjamena in 2011, detailing the suspicious activities of Sheriff and asking the Federal Government to investigate him.

The party said if this was a joke, it is one too far, especially at a time that Nigeria had been losing some of its territories to Boko Haram.

The APC said it was apparent that Jonathan smuggled Sheriff into his entourage, as the official statement announcing the trip, never mentioned he would accompany the President .

Mohammed said nobody in Nigeria would have known of this unholy alliance carried too far if not that the picture of the President, his host and the former governor surfaced via Twitter.

It said the President should explain what he knows about the allegations that Sheriff and a former Chief of Army Staff, Azubuike Ihejirika, were Boko Haram sponsors.

The APC wondered why the Jonathan administration had not handed both men to the International Criminal Court for investigation and possible prosecution.

Also, lawyers like Femi Falana, Fred Agbaje, Jiti Ogunye, Festus Keyamo and Monday Ubani said the presence of the former governor at the Ndjamena meeting was inexplicable.
(Reuters) - It is a "disgrace" for Nigeria that its neighbors have been more successful in battle against its Boko Haram insurgency than its own army, opposition presidential candidate Muhammadu Buhari said in an interview a week before the election.

Troops from neighboring Chad, Niger and Cameroon, all much smaller and poorer than Nigeria, have been battling the Islamist militants who have seized territory in northeastern Nigeria in a five-year insurgency.

Thousands of Nigerians have been killed and 1.5 million displaced in the uprising by militants known for executing and kidnapping civilians.

"It’s a big disgrace for Nigeria. It is now Cameroon and Chad fighting the insurgency more than Nigeria. We will build the capacity and Nigeria should be able to secure its territorial integrity," Buhari told Reuters.
You guys have a long way to go with lies. No way you can convince the millions of Nigerians your man GEJ was not useless in the fight against the insurgents

You can keep "loving" it while Nigerians die enmass on a daily basis.
If the magic to stop the carnage in Borno and elsewhere was in Aso Rock some people wouldn't have been in Otuoke by now and Buhari wouldn't have had any business being expected to move there. Google how many lives were lost while someone who was fast occupied Aso Rock for 5 years and keep quiet.

And who is this dumb Sylvia¿...If Jonathan had followed the old pattern of PDP rigging elections,i don't think by now he would have had the mandate to have said sure in a place of battle field(civil war)...Probably be saving his head.
Can you swear he did not try by every means to compromise the elections? Kindly show a statement released by the presidency that tended to discredit all those numerous actions taken by the PDP and its agents to stop the use of card readers coupled with all the resorts to hate campaigns in various media organizations. Jonathan was head, neck and shoulders into everything done to sway the elections in his favour even after the elections till it became very clear there was no way they could alter the results any further. We are no fools!

Like I said before I don't care if they give him all the awards in the whole world as both giving him and not giving him will not change anything as per the numerous issues we have as a country now.

This is a low low from APC Rivers. Probe Wike's tenure as a minister? Why singling out Wike? What a selfish and myopic outlook to the fight against corruption that has turned to a thorn in our flesh! Everything from Rivers is just so looking 13th century since this whole electioneering process.

I will continue to expose you and your comrades' lies. At least not all Nigerians are daft readers. Below is the real context of what he said as reported by a credible media outfit. Nowhere he said Nigeria must not engage her neighbours. You and your cohorts should slow down in your lies and propaganda. Unless you are doing it to take the job of Metuh if noticed.

Whether forced or coerced, all we know is that HE DECLARED his Assets publicly in 2007.

Now we are "Forcing" Buhari and Osinbajo to declare their assets in line with their pledge.
And what changed and happened in 2011. I guess the change in assets between 2007 and 2011 was just too drastic to make it public. Barcanista, I will be angry like every other concerned Nigerian if they don't make it public eventually but using GEJ as a yardstick is an insult on our sensibilities. We cannot forget "I don't give a damn" about 2011 assets public declaration in a hurry. You would have done better by ending this post with Yar'Adua. And please do not forget assets declaration does not end with entry, it should be done on exit also according to the law. Maybe Nobel will request that as a precursor to the expected price.

The question is will his subordinates do the same?...even if buhari reduces his salary to 2kobo per month would the corrupt thieving legislators and others do same?...if No is the answer then buharis move will be one that is wasted...
Doing it is sending a very strong message to others that we are in an austere time and they will always live with the burden of that expectation. A leader must live by example and am still watching him on this especially on the area of assets declaration even though am not impatient about that yet. I am also watching how he is going to handle issues of corruption in his government be it in his partymen or opposition even as I am also conscious of propaganda just to bring down the government. At least I can sieve the wheat from the chaffs.
TravelRe: Over 120 Escape Death As Aero Aircraft Develops Fault Mid-air by philips70(m):
These airlines are taking us for granted because of the docility of Nigerians and regulating bodies. I have used Aero from this same Kaduna to Lagos and it was a very bumpy one throughout the flight. The craft was visibly very very old with worn out seats and many other facilities. It wasn't funny at all. Arik could be bad in terms of meeting obligations but they have better planes compared to Aero. That thing they call a plane used on that route should be converted and used in amusement park like I saw in Warri sometime ago.

What you guys destroyed for 16 bladdy years will not be fixed in one week. If you are impatient you can relocate to Sambissa so Shekau can preside over you with military dispatch. These idiots forgot a handover book was given to this man just a night before swearing in. GEJ and co were in a hurry to fail and they failed woefully. Yar'Adua was called a baba go slow yet he achieved something meaningful in his short time before our Nobel candidate came to destroy everything.

Buhari will fix your dead car in his own terms and you can only wait till 2019 to vent your anger and frustrations. 13m+ Nigerians said so!
PoliticsRe: Goodluck Gets Recommended For Nobel Peace Award by philips70(m): 9:39am On Jun 06, 2015
This generation of youths need to be cured of acute ignorance and crass stupidity. The semi-illiteracy rate is alarming as typified by many posters on Nairaland these days. I believe many are even interpreting this recommendation which is nothing near a nomination as if GEJ has been given the award.

As for me I don't even care if he is given all the awards available in the world for peace. What is paramount is he has been shown the way out for his bad governance and that is what matters. If I were Buhari I will even nominate him for the award if that will calm the frayed nerves of these children of multiple anger who will never come to terms with his defeat in the next 4 years. A lost meal ticket is hardly forgotten in these difficult times though.

That he is owner of the contract and Global West is not a subject of debate anywhere. I was expecting him to say that figure is bogus and a figment of the imagination of the accuser. But he cannot definitely say that as the person in question was an authority in NIMASA. He has eaten enough right from when Ibori was in charge of Delta state. Waiting for the public declaration of the assets and if this is part of it then I will join him to my signature. My only problem here is Oronto Douglas couldn't have been living in this house without knowing the true owner. And if he knew it belongs to Buhari nothing on earth wouldn't have brought it into the infamous documentary. The president categorically said no house in Abuja.

If this turns out to be true PDP and friends shouldn't be too happy. It will only alienate many Nigerians especially like me from politicians and their so called democracy as it is only built on a pack of lies and deceit. I have witnessed too many of this from the PDP to take them any seriously. For me they are dead and no amount of propaganda will resurrect them and all these cannot stop the impending probes into their mismanagement of the economy.

Yet Breaking Times should dispatch some team to Sahara for IT on loud journalism and expositions.
