charlesemeka85:Is he going to succeed in fc porto like Zaidu Sanusi. Only time will tell as porto has destroyed the career of many Nigerian players If he breaks into fc porto first team, i will respect him for that |
elyte89:Why not try ovie ejaria or tosin kehinde. They are available and we wont have to beg and wait so much. The bible says A bird in hand is worth more than two in the bush and a live dog is better than a dead lion. Another friendly is comming up and ovie ejaria and tosin kehinde have not been invited. How long will we wait for eberechi eze. I dont understand |
TheSuperNerd:Anwan case is exciting. I saw his profile on transfermarkt and it was stated he can play as an attacking midfielder or central midfielder. He should be in the Nigerian team in no time. By the way supernerd. It seems our grassroots football is tied to foreign leagues and not our local leagues like enyimba, Kano pillars etc. Our best players move from football academies to Europe and other foreign leagues. Our local clubs have to believe in grassroot football bad that is where the talents are. The nff u15 is changing this but our local clubs need to patronise football academies for players. Chidera ejuke and this anwan and most of our homegrown talents are products of football academies but our local clubs don't appreciate this enough |
joelsteron:Is ovie ejaria cleared to play for us Also is he willing to play for us Secondly alhassan Yusuf of Royal Antwerp should be in midfield ahead of aribo as he is a natural midfielder while aribo is better when close to the box 18 |
jihday:You see, we are a footballing nation with a rich football history and anyone that coaches us has to appreciate that fact. Westerhoof succeeded because he appreiciated us as a footballing nation. You cannot come and impose your ideas 100%on us. For example if Nigeria were to face France, a coach that understands us will tell Chidera Ejuke that he should dribble and score 2 fantastic goals against France but these foreign coaches will say that we might loose and must defend for ninety minutes It is not pride. Nigeria did not start playing football 1 year ago. |
fabyom:The problem is Manchester United do not look ambitious. They look confused and leaderless like sheep without shepherd. Ten hag has to instill team work, confidence, good attitude, a new pattern etc into the team Osimhen will like an allready made team not Manu that is full of stars but lack team work like the Nigerian France 98 team |
TheGoodJoe:Well, i hope you know we are allready copying it. We have the npfl laliga u15 league which started in 2017 and even now the 2022 version is going on. Each club comes with u15 players in a league and so enyimba, kano pillars etc have their youth teams |
TheGoodJoe:Barcelona has a football academy in Lagos. Started around 2016 |
komekn:The irony is that most of the technically gifted players we Nigerians send to Europe are told they are not good enough. From Muazum, Rabiu Ibrahim, chrisantus macaulay etc. YOU EUROpEANS ARE CONFUSING. You tell us technically gifted players like nwakali cant play for porto but yet OsimEhn who is not that technically astute can play. Tell me what does it take an African born player to make it in Europe ITS DAMN CONFUSING |

How Europe is destroying Nigerian or African footballers We need to stop sending our players to Europe indiscriminately. The process must be monitored. Europe loves deceiving us our players are not good enough by making them sign slave contracts and dumping them on the bench even in horrible leagues like latvia, slovenia etc The way we destroyed our league is making it easy for Europeans to short change us. You cant take a young player from Enyimba and send him into obscurity in Europe. We need to negotiate a safe landing for our boys with these whites. The trend needs to be nipped in the bud. I think the problem is our players are too desperate to go to Europe and at the end they are exploited and dumped. Of course, there is poverty but African players deserve dignity The Yorubas say Nitori mo fe jeran mi le pe Malu in Broda Because i want to eat meat i cannot call the Cow my brother. Why run to the Latvian league in the name of playing in Europe It is better to be in the North African league or in South Africa than these nonsense European leagues. Besides the npfl has to be marketed to the world and shown on television as a good product. Aba what is it. Omojesu of Sunshine stars has gone to the Latvian league (is he that hungry This madness and killing of talent needs to stop We must develop our league and the best players from our league must end up in at least Turkey, greece, belgium etc and the respectable leagues of Europe where they can develop and get playing time. |
abobote:Yes, he won Serie A player of the month for March. https://www.goal.com/en-us/news/osimhen-wins-march-serie-a-player-of-the-month-award-after/bltaab03da181067e05#:~:text=Nigeria%20international%20Victor%20Osimhen%20has,March%20Player%20of%20the%20Month. This is the link |
TheLoneCitizen:The surprising thing about Osimhen is that the Oyibo people rate him higher than we do. I just thought he was a good young player before all the noise and move to napoli. In fact, the Europeans rate him more than we do |
isan:I don't understand you. Vandrezzar fc is one of the few privately owned clubs in the country with innovative ideas. They are like leventis United of old. It's good the way nff is cooperating with them as they are set to change the face of Nigerian football. One of their coaches is even in one of our youth teams. This is a good development. You embrace progress when you see it |
Slavia prague vs Feyenoord starts soon. I cannot wait for the collins yira sor show. He is the new kid on the block 3 Nigerians on parade Dessers Collins Yira Sor peter Olayinka |
Joezinho:Well, it is better to manage a second hand car than to be walking around. They are the best we have now. At least Rabiu Ibrahim plays regularly for his clu andis a natural AM. Also, Iyayi was part of the dinamo zagreb team that reached the europa later stages and had an assist against totenham. my friend we lack real talent in that area and we just have to make lemonade out of our lemon some of them will do well if invited in our friendlies |
Kog45:Yeah u reminded me i said as many as i can remember. I actually forgot form. We should not let the big league syndrome affect us as we need a good midfield |
Kog45:To rePair our midfield, we have to tolerate Players from obscure leageues and see what they can do. Below are a list of midfielders that we should try in our friendlies. The next friendlies should be used to exPeriment with our midfield 1. Ovie Ejaria 2. Kelechi nwakali 3. Rabiu Ibrahim 4. Alhassan yusuf 5. Iyayi Believe Atiemwen 6. Jack IPalibo 7. James Igbekeme etc and others i dont know or remember We dont have many good midfielders in the toP leagues of euroPe but that does not neccesarily mean they are not good. in Particular Alhassan Yusuf must be considers as he is doing wll for royal antwerP in Belgium |
jihday:Yeah we need another coach like Westerhoof. I wonder if philip cocu can be one Our football seems adaptable to dutch football as westerhoof was dutch. We need an intelligent coach that can take us to the next level |
Samuel chukwueze with an assist |
komekn:As a matter of fact, a lot of teams in the second division want him. He saved Alcorcon from relegation to the 3rd division last season and a second division team like alcorcon has high regards for him. In fact, burgos another second division team wanted him on loan this January but he refused. Huesca is a foolish club driving him away. Other teams know his worth and will come for him |
Subzero47:Untill we start using midfielders our strikers will struggle to score and we won't go far in international football. It doesn't matter if our central midfielders are from obscure leagues as we don't have too many talented players in the middle. Most African teams have noticed our midfield is a problem and will capitalize on it. The new set of new players must be midfieldets. From ovie ejaria to rabiu Ibrahim to alhassan Yusuf or whoever. The next coach should get us 10 natural midfielders who can create chances and protect the defence. Midfield is the engine room of a team and the sooner our coaches realize this the better. They should stop calling 10 strikers and 3 midfielders. Who will pass to the ten strikers. Journalists in our local league should talk more about midfielders than strikers. In fact create an award for most creative player or midfielder and recommend him to the national team. I'm surprised we don't appreciate creative players and we need them badly in our midfield |
Hilary gong scored today for hageusssnd in Denmark. The winger has finally been given a chance and will prove himself. Vitesse Arnhem never gave him a chance |
BascoVanVeli:I think anayo iwuala may be a natural winger that actually creates chances for his strikers and so is actually more tactically sound than some of our wing forwards. But people in this forum will say he is not playing in Europe but football is about tactics |
Our not qualifying for the world cup is a blessing in disguise. Now we will attack the problem from the roots. We must develop our league and stop corruption in nff. A lot of changes must take place in our football. We also need to improve in coaching from the grassroots. The way we run football needs to change |
If Sadiq Umar plays he will win a penalty for Nigeria and the ghsnisns will have a red card. We should just tell him to keep dribbling. We must exploit his creativity as a forward. He can be a joker as the Ghsnisns don't rate him or have a plan for him. All they think is osimhen. Sadiq style of play is different and will destroy the Ghsnisns defence. Imagine if as early as the 5th minute the Ghsnisns get a red card and we win a penalty for their rough play towards Sadiq Umar. That will leave them confused |
Aribo works best in a 3 midfield where 2 defensive or box to box players are behind him and he plays as an attacking midfielder with licence to roam and attack. Iheanacho is best as a supporting striker. Put aribo in a 3 man midfield and iheanacho behind osimhen and then use only one winger and we have a dangerous attack. Eguavon is wasting aribo and iheanacho talent. Rodgers who we criticize so much knows how to get the best out of iheanacho |
fabyom:I bet you Austin will repeat his mistakes on Tuesday. We have a coaching problem. He should try and invite natural midfieldets to the team but after this qualifiers he won't. Maybe it is a spiritual problem. Our coaches love ignoring out midfield |
forgiveness:Iheanacho I'd not a midfielder. He is been played out of position. Eguavon is a terrible coach. We have a serious coaching problem. Okay can you play lukaku as a midfielder. Nwakali should be in this team or amoo Our coaches are clueless and confused |
Subzero47:Frank onyeks should be in midfield while atibo will play 10 in front of onyeks and bonke. Dennis can replace chukwueze. Eguavon is getting his tactics wrong. Nigeria has a serious coaching problem since westerhoof left. Maybe the present coach of Ajax yrn hag can help. There is no difference between Eguavon and rohr. Good players but bad coaches. I am tired. Our football administrators should work on our coaches. |
mostob:Yeah this is why I love Sadiq. His creativity makes him a good support striker or wing forward. I prefer him to iheanacho in that role |
Chidera ejuke is better than Samuel chukwueze. He is a better dribbler and he is unpredictable. Chukwueze is too predictable and easy to mark. On the other hand defenders do not know what ejuke will do next. I wonder at the tactical soundness of our coaches. |
