Only time will tell as porto has destroyed the career of many Nigerian players

Why not try ovie ejaria or tosin kehinde.
They are available and we wont have to beg and wait so much.

Naija lads in Russian Premier League's Final League matchday 21/22

Ejuke starts for CSKA.

Olakunle Olusegun starts for FC Krasnodar. His 9th senior start.

Bryan Idowu and 21 y/o MF/CDM, Anwan Lawrence start for FK Khimki.
It is Anwan's first Senior start for Khimki in the RPL and his 4th appearance after joining them in January/February from FNL side, Olimp-Dolgoprudnyi.

A Hard tackling Midfield player (CDM), he bagged a red in his first appearance for Khimki off the bench. Since then, he has been settling in okay dropping fine showings against Rostov and Russian League leaders, Zenit St. Petersburg.

All games kick off in 20 mins.

Pics below:

1. Chidera Ejuke getting set for today's battle.

2. Anwan Nicholas Lawrence bracing up for his first Senior start in khimki colors.
Anwan case is exciting. I saw his profile on transfermarkt and it was stated he can play as an attacking midfielder or central midfielder. He should be in the Nigerian team in no time.

By the way supernerd. It seems our grassroots football is tied to foreign leagues and not our local leagues like enyimba, Kano pillars etc. Our best players move from football academies to Europe and other foreign leagues.
Our local clubs have to believe in grassroot football bad that is where the talents are.
The nff u15 is changing this but our local clubs need to patronise football academies for players.
Chidera ejuke and this anwan and most of our homegrown talents are products of football academies but our local clubs don't appreciate this enough

Eagles coach must do away with wingers for now and start working on 3-5-2 formation like A 3 man defense of: Awaziem Simi Ajayi & Bassey. Then a 5 man midfield of: Aina, Ndidi Aribo Iwobi Zaidu. And two man of attack of I Iheanacho and Osimehn. Our wingers should hold on.
I'm personally tired of those wing football where they usually get caged.
Is ovie ejaria cleared to play for us
Also is he willing to play for us

Secondly alhassan Yusuf of Royal Antwerp should be in midfield ahead of aribo as he is a natural midfielder while aribo is better when close to the box 18

We are a bunch of delusional people we aren’t ready for that
You see, we are a footballing nation with a rich
football history and anyone that coaches us has to appreciate that fact.
Westerhoof succeeded because he appreiciated us as a footballing nation.
You cannot come and impose your ideas 100%on us.
For example if Nigeria were to face France, a coach that understands us
will tell Chidera Ejuke that he should dribble and score 2 fantastic goals against France
but these foreign coaches will say that we might loose and must defend for ninety minutes
It is not pride. Nigeria did not start playing football 1 year ago.

I think the game against Leicester City where he scored those 2 fantastic goals is making United consider him a better option than Nunez!
The problem is Manchester United do not look ambitious.

I posted this on March 30, 2016. I think with the discussion on ground, we can understand the depth of the Spanish Football development and a model many countries in Europe adopted. It is long but an in depth article.

The Success Of Spain: A Lesson For Every Football Nation

The seniors showed how to do it! And now the juniors showed that even they can do it. Next what? Even the Spanish U5 might win their respective football tournament in the very same way. It’s that time to say that Brazil is no more the most feared football country in the world. It’s time for Spain to take the throne. The victory of Spain U-21 in the European championships recently has further substantiated the claim of the kings of world football. But how has Spain managed this unprecedented success, this unbelievable consistency that every country wants to emulate the Spanish success model?

Dude I spend a lot of time in coaching.

And from what I have seen if you haven't developed technical ability, sublime skill with outstanding first touch before you are 16/17 it's very infact almost impossible to develop after that.

I have seen this in academies across Europe.

Three weeks ago I was in Gran Canaria looking at the Santander La Liga Promises tournament. And even at U13 level you can see a lot of promise.

That's why Liverpool could pay £1.8 million for a 14 year old Raheem from QPR.

He can definitely improve on positional play , anticipation and timing as well as control his temper.
The irony is that most of the technically gifted players we Nigerians send to Europe are told they
are not good enough.
From Muazum, Rabiu Ibrahim, chrisantus macaulay etc.
YOU EUROpEANS ARE CONFUSING.

How Europe is destroying Nigerian or African footballers

We need to stop sending our players to Europe indiscriminately.
The process must be monitored.
Europe loves deceiving us our players are not good enough by making them
sign slave contracts and dumping them on the bench even in horrible leagues like latvia, slovenia etc
The way we destroyed our league is making it easy for Europeans to short change us.
You cant take a young player from Enyimba and send him into obscurity in Europe.
We need to negotiate a safe landing for our boys with these whites.
The trend needs to be nipped in the bud.
I think the problem is our players are too desperate to go to Europe and at the end
they are exploited and dumped.
Of course, there is poverty but African players deserve dignity
The Yorubas say
Nitori mo fe jeran mi le pe Malu in Broda
Because i want to eat meat i cannot call the Cow my brother.
Why run to the Latvian league in the name of playing in Europe
It is better to be in the North African league or in South Africa
than these nonsense European leagues.
Besides the npfl has to be marketed to the world and
shown on television as a good product.
Aba what is it. Omojesu of Sunshine stars has gone to the Latvian league
(is he that hungry
This madness and killing of talent needs to stop
We must develop our league and the best players from our league must end up
in at least Turkey, greece, belgium etc and the respectable leagues of Europe
where they can develop and get playing time.

Andrew baba,Yes coach and No coach.

Question to ask do we really have the synergies possessed by the teams our players features week in week out, check out our quality in the midfield and compare it to that of Villarreal or Leicester team.

Andrew, until we address the real issue which is our midfield,no coach will succeed with Ndidi,Etebo,Aribo formation .When Jay jay left Mikel was able to fit in though not as Okocha does it.Time to have real midfielder to dictate the pace....am not really sold on Aribo again cos he was damn too poor against Ghana and his performance in Afcon was average and Iwobi is on and off player cos on a good day by now Iwobi should be our real man in the midfield with Ndidi.

Check out,Calvin Bassey performance against Lyon,Iheanacho against man utd,Osimehn recent scoring spree,Awoniyi performance this season,Onuachu always on headlines,Sanusi doing it with Porto,Maduka good with Rotterdam,Iwobi recent form,Sadiq scintillating performance this season,Chuckwueze net a winning goal against Bayern but these guys and the rest performances in GWG always poor.

Imagine a team with Victor Osimehn,Paul Onuachu,Taiwo Awoniyi underperforming just due to bad midfield,no clear cut chances from our midfield, damn disjointed on the field, always playing like strange fellows.

In coming coach must sat down and find lasting solution to the sorry state of our midfield. How I wish Iwobi can come alive and shoulder the responsibility just like he is doing in Everton of late.
To rePair our midfield, we have to tolerate Players from obscure leageues and see what they can do.
Below are a list of midfielders that we should try in our friendlies. The next friendlies should be used to exPeriment with our midfield

1. Ovie Ejaria
2. Kelechi nwakali
3. Rabiu Ibrahim
4. Alhassan yusuf
5. Iyayi Believe Atiemwen
6. Jack IPalibo
7. James Igbekeme

etc and others i dont know or remember
We dont have many good midfielders in the toP leagues of euroPe but
that does not neccesarily mean they are not good.
in Particular Alhassan Yusuf must be considers as he is doing wll for royal antwerP in Belgium

He did not leave Huesca his contract was Terminated and he was let go because they simply don't think he is good enough.

In reality they wanted to get rid of him much sooner, but nobody in the Segundo wanted him ,so Huesca were stuck with him.

Consider how desperate Huesca was, season has not even ended and he has been kicked out of the club unceremoniously.

He was the second to the last lowest in paid player in the club.
As a matter of fact, a lot of teams in the second division want him.
He saved Alcorcon from relegation to the 3rd division last season and a second division

In fact, burgos another second division team wanted him on loan this January but he refused.
Huesca is a foolish club driving him away.

This thing doesn't excite me anymore
Untill we start using midfielders our strikers will struggle to score and we won't go far in international football.
It doesn't matter if our central midfielders are from obscure leagues as we don't have too many talented players in the middle.
Most African teams have noticed our midfield is a problem and will capitalize on it.
The new set of new players must be midfieldets. From ovie ejaria to rabiu Ibrahim to alhassan Yusuf or whoever.
The next coach should get us 10 natural midfielders who can create chances and protect the defence.
Midfield is the engine room of a team and the sooner our coaches realize this the better.
They should stop calling 10 strikers and 3 midfielders.
Who will pass to the ten strikers.
Journalists in our local league should talk more about midfielders than strikers. In fact create an award for most creative player or midfielder and recommend him to the national team.
I'm surprised we don't appreciate creative players and we need them badly in our midfield

If Sadiq Umar plays he will win a penalty for Nigeria and the ghsnisns will have a red card.
We should just tell him to keep dribbling.
We must exploit his creativity as a forward.
He can be a joker as the Ghsnisns don't rate him or have a plan for him. All they think is osimhen.
Sadiq style of play is different and will destroy the Ghsnisns defence.
Imagine if as early as the 5th minute the Ghsnisns get a red card and we win a penalty for their rough play towards Sadiq Umar. That will leave them confused

Aribo works best in a 3 midfield where 2 defensive or box to box players are behind him and he plays as an attacking midfielder with licence to roam and attack.

Iheanacho is best as a supporting striker.
Put aribo in a 3 man midfield and iheanacho behind osimhen and then use only one winger and we have a dangerous attack.
Eguavon is wasting aribo and iheanacho talent.
Rodgers who we criticize so much knows how to get the best out of iheanacho

Austin's stubbornness to stick with Nacho in that role might cost us the world cup.
This is not club football, it is international football for Christ's sake.

Your midfielders must be able to fight for every damn ball.

Etebo, Bonke/Onyeka, and Aribo should be the ones starting in that midfield triangle.

Two DMs will allow your wing backs to overlap to support your wingers without affecting the shape of the team. Football 101.

Trying to play like Pep was what cost Lampard the Chelsea job. One DM is a risky venture unless you have a great ball carrier like Kevin De Bruyne.
I bet you Austin will repeat his mistakes on Tuesday. We have a coaching problem.

Chidera ejuke is better than Samuel chukwueze.
He is a better dribbler and he is unpredictable. Chukwueze is too predictable and easy to mark.
On the other hand defenders do not know what ejuke will do next.
