trek4000:I am seriously suffering from ASAS bro. I have one 65cm dish permanently locked at Intelsat 7/10 ku, one 80cm currently on Sirius 4 ku (may be moved any time), one 90cm dish on Eutelsat w3a (permanently there), one 1.8m prime focus currently on w3c ku, one 1.8m prime focus which moments ago was on Arabsat 5a but now on Atlantic Bird 3 C. Satellites that I frequently monitor are Apstar 2r, Thaicom 5, Paksat 1r, Arabsat 5c, Intelsat 10-02, Eutelsat w4/7, Nss 12, among others. I am using Strong SRT 4930 HD and I am about to launch an attack on Atlantic Bird 7. |
etcwest:Obviously I am not Gadotor but I was just wondering if you are hunting for w3c or something else coz with MGM and Afro MUsic thats W2a at 10 deg East. If you are then looking for W3c you should continue raising the dish to get to 16 degrees. Apologies if I am poking my nose in other peoples business! ![]() @Ilish Ok bro. You will inform us the fruits of your labour when time is ripe! |
gadotor:I dont know how many channels you brothers in West Africa are getting on this sat. Here in Southern Africa I have managed to get about 25 FTA channels. I don't know if anybody in this part of Africa is getting more than these (may be Etcwest will furnish us with more info when he shoots down this bird!) Ilish, have you tried this w3c? ![]() |
etcwest:Yes 90cm will do if you use a good lnb (not the scarce ones used for fringe reception but the usual ones). The tps that give problem are the ones that we need, the one having Setanta, RDV, etc. it seems they have a weaker signal. |
etcwest:Yes, I am locked to W3c bro. W3a is at 7deg east while W3c is at 16 deg E. From W3a you need to raise your dish a bit ( a few inches) to the right. So far there is nothing new from the original channels that have been there. I am anticipating some changes shortly! ![]() |
ESTJOZI:Bro, I don't see this coming here. I even doubt if this will materialise in South Africa itself. Reports indicate that the service providers are challenging this in court. ![]() |
curiousman66:Looks like there is very little activity on this satellite of late. |
Are the prophecies meant to make us fill in the dots? ![]() |
The National Consumer Commission now wants to force South Africa's pay TV companies to sell their TV channels to you separately DStv, TopTV ordered to change contracts The National Consumer Commission has told DStv’s operator MultiChoice and TopTV’s operator On Digital Media to amend their current contracts with subscribers which the commission says do not apply with South Africa’s new Consumer Protection Act. In a move that could have serious repercussions for South Africa’s pay TV industry, The National Consumer Commission also wants both South African pay TV operators to break down the channels in its bouquets and give subscribers the choice of a la carte channel subscriptions. The Commission has issued compliance notices to MultiChoice and ODM. The National Consumer Commission wants MultiChoice and ODM to allow subscribers to pay for the specific TV channels they want, and want the DStv and TopTV channel selection to be grouped into genres. Newtonn:Have you tried reloading the original file for your model? |
Olutozn54:Arryadia will show the Manchester City vs Liverpool game on Tuesday, 3 January 2012 at 21:00 CET ![]() |
Hardunnii:I thought the Subject for this thread reads: FTA Live Football Matches Announcement Thread. I don't think Supersport is FTA. Please lets concentrate on FTA live matches and not otherwise. ![]() |
ESTJOZI:@Estjozi I totally agree with you. I was against this idea that Whiteman is evil but slowly I agree that Whiteman who is English speaking in more evil. French white have plenty of free French channels but not these Brits and company, not even 1. Why not give us their free to view channels? |
miju:@Miju You are my idol, respect to you SIR! I have also been asking myself the very same question. Why is it that we have plenty of good FREE French channels, Portuguese, or Arabic and not English? The silly Brits provide free to view channels ONLY to their peers and not the poor Africans they colonised and robbed years ago. I now see why people hate the west. Why can't they extend their FTA coverage to ENGLISH speaking African countries? They provide their FREE channels to D**V so that we should only access these channels on subscription, my poor Africa! Britain, I HATE YOU! You taught us your English but you don't want us to enjoy your free gifts. You Arabs, come and give us your Free Gifts and lets see what happens next. We have already started enjoying your programming on Arabsat 5a and 5c and we are surely waiting for more. We hate these stingy Brits!!! |
gadotor:Looks like it will be scrambled for all of us very soon when they reach their target of 27 African channels and 27 European channels, making a total of 54 channels. Surely this is not meant to be an FTA bouquet. Sad. |
mjay:@Mjay Wow this guy is indeed funny. I didn't see the funny side of it, he says watching TV without subscription is illegal. So it means we should pay for any channel we watch, no free channel. ![]() |
DARELESTIN:It looks like TV Malagasy on w3a is gone bro. ![]() |
We Christians respect you Moslems when ever you celebrate Eid el (whatever you call it) and why can't you give us respect when celebrating Christmas? You cheat us that Islam means Peace! Really? We are watching you. |
kay1983:What has this got to do with "Satellite TV Technology'? ![]() |
@All Those with SRT 4930 HD, new software update SRT4930_ALL_122p_20111209.zip dated 09-12-2011 is out. Get it at http://crosat.us/upload/index.php?order=rating&direction=1&directory=Strong%20Receivers/Strong%20WIZKID%20Files/Strong%204%20Middle%20East&offset=45 ![]() |
Wellydra:@Wellydra The best dish size to give you C band reception on Intel7/10 in SADC (not political) is 1.8m (the usual size we get from tech shops in town) and the best tracking frequency is 4064 H 19850 or 3739 H 26590 or 3802 H 10000 or 4185 H 20000. After you lock on this sat you will need to tweak the LNB to optimize reception and get weaker transponders. |
Hollabck86:Isn't MBC 1 and 2 on Eutelsat W3A and not Sirius 4? |
@All Is this the Invacom Universal Quad LNB 0.3dB C120 Flange you brothers are recommending?
|
George_D:Thanks for the info. I will come back if at all I need advice from you dear brothers regarding this fringe reception. ![]() |
Hollabck86:What other channels do you get on Sirius 4? |
odilibe:@ Odilibe Performance wise, what's the difference between this Inverto White tech C120 LNB and Inverto White Tech Twin C120 LNB? |
Hollabck86:Are you getting Record Mozambique and other channels on Eutelsat W3a? TV Malagasy is still on this satellite. |
Those on C band on this satellite there is TBC 1, NTV (Kenya), KTN, K24 and KBC Channel 1 which were added a week ago. ![]() Those on KU band (South Africa beam) there is MBC (Mbuyekezo Boxing Channel) on 11170 v 26651 ![]() |
It has been said to get fringe satellites we should use 'good' 0.2 or 0.1db LNBs. I need advice on Invacom C120 Single LNB which has a noise figure of 0.3db but in other websites it is claimed to be good for weak signals. I want to track AB 7, will it do the job? ![]() |
Ilish:That's what I also know, only if they have re-designed the 4930 to have a built in RJ45 connector. ![]() |
Olutozn54:GRTS is on Atlantic Bird 3 at 5 degrees West, frequency 4124 L 3572 and for Eritrea TV its on Arabsat 5a on 30.5 degrees east (check Lyngsat for more details) ![]() |
Lintino:Check previous posts. Your 4930 is mpeg 4 and HD so depending on your location and dish size you will enjoy it, there are plenty of FTA channels. Check Flysat and Lyngsat to verify what you want (yes, a bit of research on your part ) |
