I am teaching my toddler , my son that's is okay if we don't have some things . For instance we don't have a car but most of his class mates families have and he would.look on so long to their cars while we wait for bike . I told him we are fine and no different from them as owing cars doesn't mean they were better off. I said when it is time that we can afford to own a car which is soon we would and if we don't , it doesn't mean we are poor . After all you attend the same school and we pay same fee.
I teach him to be proud of what he owns especially what he worked for . I teach him working hard is good as that is a good path to success .
I don't know where all of this is coming from, but if you ask him what he wants to do , he will say to buy and build big cars . Here what I do , I buy him several toy cars and he builds cars out of anything, name it pegs, slipper, books , his food anything! Rather than feel bad about us not owing a car, he has turn it to his passion .
If anyone has toy cars not used anymore and is willing to gift , I'm all open . My kid keeps getting fascinated with cars and now when we take our bikes , he smiles and sometimes he suggest we walk home .

Parents should build confidence in their kids and encourage to speak up when they do , don't shun them listen to understand.
I feel if parents get more involved with their kids , guiding them all the way , kids will turn out to be good responsible adults .
The best way to fight back is to build confidence not go physically or abusing back .

So 2022 I am saving 5% and spending 95% how I want . This life na once we dey live am. My future is my present for that is the one I own.

What caught my attention is that an undergraduate could write like this. Mixing up capital letters and missing her spellings ? Writing in short hand is a big turn off for me .

We all sound as though here in Nigeria people do all necessary test when pregnant. How many parents even do these test or can afford to ? Those who have children with disability.often times didn't find out until after birth .
I'm sure if most if these parents were given the choice at about say trimester , they will abort it.
Having said that , I do not judge a parent who choose to abort neither do I praise the one who decide to have them . Our capacity and tolerance level differs and our ability to fight off social stigmatization differs too.

Retin-A/Tretinoin can treat many skin conditions and hyperpigmentation is one of them. My husband has been sick for a month now. The problem started when he lost almost a million naira in a business deal. All of a sudden he lost so much weight, so I attributed it to the depression that he passed through as a result of the loss. After like 2weeks he recovered the money and since then I noticed that he became sick, he has being coughing for more than 3weeks now, he suffers fatigue, chills, severe chest pain and general body pains. We have gone for test and the result said it's pneumonia. He has taken Drugs but it's till like that. He till coughs and feels fatigue everytime. Sorry to sound negative this is exactly what killed my neighbor last week . Their story is similar . The sickness started with bad investment then non stop cough and he refused to go to hospital. Unfortunately the day the wife escalated it and we neighbor rushed him to hospital was the day he gave up. Please don't waste time don't sit on it . You won't lost your hubby in Jesus name . I truly wish I could be anonymous with this funny but troubling challenge.... lol

My family recently moved to another part of the country and the kids changed school. We've all settled down but my daughter is yet to.

She's having a hard time making friends in her new school. She just started Primary class and daily complaint from her is that her peers call her 'a Baby' because she isn't chubby like them.

The other kids appear to be what Yorubas call "Agric"

Please note my daughter isn't skinny. She eats well and has a good stature/height for her age.

She is very confident, smart and outspoken but I feel scared she may start experiencing inferiority complexity at this tender age. No evidence of bullying though based on my discussions with her.

What can I do?

Talk to your daughter about how we all look different and that doesn't make us less of a person .
Secondly , talk to the teacher . Politely asks her to talk to other kids to stop calling your daughter a 'baby' . Ask the teacher to encourage other kids to be nice and welcoming to your daughter .
Your daughter might just be reacting to the fact that is a new school in a new environment. I think she will come along . But don't shun her anytime she complains . Listen and affirm her concerns and counter them by giving hope. If these persist more than these term after doing all the above , I think you should be alarmed because it means your kid isn't learning . No child learn in an unconducive environment.

People say this everytime . The red flags are not always there. People change, circumstance happen status changed, emergencies decisions are taken, all if this don't always happen in courtship. There are those who were best dates buddies and check ✔️ into one another boxes , but couldn't hold up in marriage , not because the red flags were seen but ignored , but the fact that change is constant .

I surrendered all to jesus ( if you are not a christian this might not be for you) and I was able to tell my family what I have done and then I have peace. I'm in a better place now , and I'm full of hope. Is one if those things that comes with being a youth . But some mistake are irredeemable. They have everlasting impact . But that doesn't mean we can't start all over again. Go to your family tell them what you have done then You will have true peace and your burden will be lifted.
Start by telling someone you are close to in the family, that person will escalate it. In my own case , I told my elder sister first , and trust me she did a good job escalating . And the day I found out my dad was aware of what I had done , that is the day my peace that passesth all understanding started still date . My dad and I are paddies now . So op speak to someone and you will be fine .

The main issue now is that, I don't like condoms, or daily contraceptives, or all these morning-after pills, and I don't want to sterilize myself because I might still want a last baby after 6 or 7 years from now.
The worst of it all is that these urges are always spontaneously unplanned.

From normal daily gistings to more normal gistings, and the next thing, serious urges from no where would just overcome us.

I don't want to have more kids.
I have had enough already.

I never said they were too good for public schools. Don't read meanings into what I didn't say. I thanked the poster who suggested that and told him we haven't really thought of that. That I will suggest it to the family and hope they take it.

We haven't really consider this option, I will suggest it. But I don't know if the parents will allow the kids do that . I was even thinking we could take them to a far cheaper school . The kids have never been to public school so don't know how this will affect their well being . Thank you
