GreatVocalist: It's very disappointing that this comment is coming from a man.
How you think it's okay for a woman to leave her man because he opted for something "below his social status" is beyond me.
You never know what opportunities will arise from his venture. Instead of you to advise him to hustle hard and not give up because of the emotional set back, you're here trying to justify the lady's choice.
That's very disappointing, as a man. You don't have to be disappointed, he should keep his advice for his daughter. |

he can't even afford to buy a car for Uber, atleast that would be more reasonable. His girlfriend was even nice enough to argue with him when he made suggestion of being a Keke man. If I were to be in her shoes, I would have left him alone the relationship secretly without arguing with him. You can leave him no problem but what is wrong with having a Keke napep.Even some extremely rich men have one for side-hustle if you don't know. That's the worst way to learn..
It's a time waster
It make the most simple stuffs sound complicated..
Why will someone watch a course for a month because they want to learn how to fetch ordinary API.
Something that can be learnt in an hour..
I prefer learning via coding. It is usually the leading cause of tutorial hell for beginners. I have been there... |
Programming › Re: Youtube Is Rubbish!! Get A Good Udemy Course Instead by pixey(m): 5:22pm On Jul 19, 2023 |
Devdevdev: This thread is for visual learners like me who learn better when watching and coding along, as opposed to reading books. If you prefer books and articles, then this thread isn't for you.
I've wasted a lot of time trying to learn from YouTube and I want you to learn from my experience. YouTube is not a place to learn. Majority of the people that teach programming on YouTube are either idiots who don't really know how to code, quacks that just steal code from stack overflow and chatgpt, or frauds trying to get clicks by posting catchy topics.
The better you get at programming the more you'll realize just how useless YouTube videos are. I'm speaking from experience.
YouTube tutorial channels are massive time wasters that just scratch the surface of a topic and never explain what's actually happening or how the code actually works. They just repeat code they probably copied elsewhere and expect you to follow along. The result of this is that because the concept isn't explained well, you find yourself coming back to YouTube to understand it better, and you repeat the cycle endlessly until you get stuck in the dreaded tutorial hell.
If you want to get better at programming, get a high rated udemy course and follow it step by step. It may be 60-80 hrs long, but it's worth it. And that course is all you need to understand the subject. You can supplement the rest of your learning by reading documentation.
Udemy courses are taught by trained professionals who their job is to teach, not some quack who just feels like creating a YouTube channel to get clicks. The top rated udemy instructors are usually experienced tutors who teach not just those learning but also professional developers in big companies.
Udemy courses are well structured and they take you from beginner level to advanced, and if you are intermediate, you can skip the beginner sections and still learn what you need.
Stop patronizing programming tutorial channels on YouTube who just waste your time. It doesn't matter if they have a million followers.
The only YouTube accounts you should follow are people that are also high rated on Udemy And these guys usually don't even post their relevant courses on YouTube anyways so you are better off just buying their udemy courses.
Instead of Youtube, read documentation. That's a better use of your time. A word is enough for the wise. It is not rubbish but it is just that it is not beginners friendly as most YouTubers would say to get more views and subscriptions. |

talented321: A good girl-child will not hate men because her parents go separate ways unless she is brainwashed by the mother. I am not in support of what happen but the way u people taking this thing is to far just because una want to blame the man. There are things that bound to happen we gats learn from those thing and not the opposite. She is not the first child from a broken home and majority of children from broken home learn from the mistake of their parents and become a good father or mother. A child that want to bad will bad. You haven't face that trauma that is why you can't see it that way.At that age she needs the care and good example of her father to understand men.You are right in one thing, that depends on the mother partially but this is something she witnessed herself at a very young age not that her mum told her and she just lost a brother. She will surely resent her father. |

MrBrownJay1: you are absolutely RIGHT... this isnt about polygamy, sadly, it aint about adultery either.... its solely about a child who is crying out because her parents are divorcing, while that same child was openly slandering her own father online. She was wrong in doing this but she is still a kid who hasn't matured yet. The mother should have cautioned her in that aspect. However you should understand the disappointment and resentment she is feeling towards her dad.No child will be happy if their parent is divorced.Especially from a girl child, she will start having hatred towards men and very likely be a die hard feminist. This is how feminists are usually born. |

MrBrownJay1: what does a child emotional wellbeing got to do with a father taking a 2nd wife?! as her father, HIS OWN emotional wellbeing is more important than hers. her father need to be emotionally fit so that he can go out there and fulfill his responsibilities in life. NO FATHER should ever put their child's emotional wellbeing before their own, EVER!
a father MUST take decisions that he believes is right for HIM/FAMILY... and a child certainly shouldnt/mustnt question that. as an adult, you know best what is needed for the family, and should do that, regardless whether wifey/children are ok with that. thats the price you have to pay for being the HEAD OF THE FAMILY. not all decisions you take will go down well with everyone but if thats what you need to do, then so be it. if wifey wants to divorce you because you took a 2nd wife then so be it. if your marriage is gonna crash because you couldnt take the shiit of wife #1 (and needed a 2nd wife), then so be it! I pray you don't follow his footsteps. This is not about polygamy. This is about adultery. |

pansophist: The biggest misconception about Japa is the idea that you must spend millions. It is not. You can have millions to show on your bank statement, but you don't have to spend millions. It may just happen that you only have to spend on the application fee, depending on the category you applied for.
For example, if you are a family member of a European citizen, then you don't have to show your bank statement, submit proof of flight, or hotel, or that you are coming back to Naija, and the application fee is free. You are literally just going to collect a visa without stress. In fact on the Schengen visa application form, it is written there that EU family members should not fill in that area. And the visa must be issued within two weeks at the latest.
And guess what? the embassy cannot deny you. It's against the law. They can deny it in exceptional circumstances such as you have ebola that can infect the public or a serial killer with the hobby of blowing up stations and airports. Even if you have been banned from entering Europe, your status as a child, spouse, or parent of an EU citizen redeems you and invalidates the ban.
If you have any family with an EU passport, you are a lucky child. Just go and ask the embassy for your visa.
But if you do not have an EU relative, then go through school. Don't go as a visitor, you will suffer eh? As a student, you just buy time for yourself like two years or more (depending on degree length, so you can know your way around, and find a legal route to make your stay permanent. I guess I am really that lucky. |

Devdevdev: Hi guys. I've been trying to render information from an API but I keep getting errors. My goal is to render the information along with a button that changes the page once clicked.
The information is an object that has an array of objects within it.
Below is the screenshot of the code along with sreenshot of the data I want to fetch. I want to be able to render all the information from the data within the h2 tags.
With arrays, it's straightforward cos all I have to do is map the data from the users but with objects it is more complicated.
Please I'll really appreciate if anyone can provide some help You really did well but just some refactoring to point out. You didn't have to use async when there is no await and secondly maybe you can set the state to "res.data.results" .This is will give you an array of results you need. I would also recommend you download JSON viewer pro extension and lastly the useEffect hook is not necessary. |

So funny that those guys that are mostly passionate about their field aren't mostly on social media (nigerians to be specific). I have peeps like that around my neighborhood that are indoors coding all days and rarely come out, the only days I do see them is only on Saturday morning when they workout. You don't learn programming to be better than anyone else. You learn programming because you are a problem solver and you want to make the world a easier and better place for all with a huge compensation. Whether it is C++ , Java, Python, Embedded Systems or whatever ,all these becomes useless and a waste of time if you don't use it to solve problems around you.Saying those using C++ are better programmers is just too childish and egoistic to me. My point is any tech stack or technology that makes the world of humanity better is what matters bro.Peace ! |
