Chetimah:
WHY BLAMING 2 years OF APC WHEN U COMPARE WITH 16 YEARS OF PDP?

Talking about 16 years of PDP Vs less than 3 years of APC.....

1. PDP met a bag of rice at less than N2,500 in 1999, but left it at N11,000 in 2015 when they left power.

2. PDP met the Dollar at N18 when they came in 1999, but left it at N220 in 2015 when they were leaving.

3. PDP met petrol pump price at N20 when they came in 1999 but take it to N280 in most state and after subsidising it, left it at N87 for the purpose of winning the election when they were leaving in 2015.

4. PDP met a bag of cement at N360 but left it at N2,200 while they were leaving in 2015.

5. PDP met a tin of milk at N13.50k in 1999 but left it at N120(peak milk) when they left in 2015.

6. PDP met only OPC in 1999 but left us with Niger Delta militancy, Avengers, MASSOB, IPOB, BAKKASI, Herdsmen militias and Boko Haram as at when they left in 2015.

7. PDP was ushered in with a free and fair election in 1999 by the military but they left us with ballot box snatching, rice sharing for campaigns, do-or- die politics, political assassinations, and high rate of corruption etc...

All these outlined problems are the legacy of the PDP led government. The people and party that brought Nigeria and Nigerians to their knees are again offering Nigeria advice on governance! God forbid. If PDP have no sense of history, Nigerians are not altogether amnesia...

Can someone help us to tell them to please let us give this administration its four years, before judgement.

What they couldn't do in 16yrs, they demand this administration should deliver in one year. Are these people serious? May God help Buhari bring back our lost Glory..

PMB is far better in all ramifications. We will have patient with him. Nigeria will surely better..

God bless Nigeria.
An exercise in motorpark logic and stupidity.

The simple argument that the op should try to show with a seasoned argument is that the standard of living , measured by all standard indices, was much higher in 1999 than in 2015.

So, Op, kindly go ahead and articulate your argument.

I just gave you simple statistics and how things are properly analysed and you are hear trying to massage your bruised ego with a heavily flawed post.

If the religious make up about 160 million of the population of Nigeria and we can find just 70,000 in prison from this 160 million people, and atheists are just about 1.8 million in Nigeria yet we find about 750 of them in prisons.

This means that if you grow these atheist figures in comparison to the population of the religious and contrast side by side with the current numbers in prisons this would means that if the atheist population is 90% of Nigeria then the atheist population in prisons would be at about 215,000 nationwide which is about 3 times the current prison population of the religious using the same 90% religious population standard.

This is simple statistics. Something you obviously know nothing about.
Laughing out loud.

First of all, why not dwell on the statistics that are given , instead of a projecting a hypothetical situation suited for bias ? .
So, you think that a 70,000 prison population for the world's most religious country of 160m is a very good score ?
Good score compared to what other country ?
Christianity EtcRe: What Is The Source Of Morality by plaetton: 5:30pm On Feb 22, 2018
butterflyl1on:
If Nigeria has a religious population of 90% while atheists and traditionalists occupy the 1% and 9% slot respectively, common sense would tell you that naturally the atheist numbers in prisons would be far less due to the rather infinitismal atheist numbers in Nigeria.

However it is a huge positive that out of a probable 160million religious population, only 70,000 or so are in prisons from that block while despite the very tiny atheist numbers in Nigeria you can still find some in Prison, speaks volumes of the negative side of morality in atheism.

Grow this number statistically side by side and you would be amazed that if Nigeria was 90% atheist then we would be having more prisons built to accommodate them as the current prisons would be seriously overpopulated while if the religious were the 1% then this means that there would no religious person in any prison in Nigeria.

This is how statistics are derived. Stop peddling trash.

cc Neurotika
Your argument is flawed on many fronts.
For example, with a population that has 90% religious people, that so-called custodians of lofty morality, that religious people should be statistically under-represented in the prison population.
Conversely, since atheists and non-adherents of the judeo-christian moral philosophies are assumed to be people without a moral guidepost, the atheists should have been expected to make up a greatly disproportionate representation of the prison population.
Christianity EtcRe: What Is The Source Of Morality by plaetton: 4:27pm On Feb 22, 2018
Just to add to this discussion on morality and it's source, let me remind those who continue to point to religion and their invisible gods as the source for morality that such argument remains a failed argument.
For good example, we are not surprised at all that latest prison statistics show that 92% of prison inmates in Nigeria are adherents of the 2 major Middle East religions.
Adherents of African traditional religions make up only 2% of the prison population, while atheists make up only 1% of the prison population in Nigeria.

So, the facts are there.
Religion is definitely not the source of morality.

Comprehension comprehension.
Some read but do not comprehend.

Charities are not family owned and operated.
Charities are not passed on to children as inheritance.

Therefore, there is no doubts that Billy Graham ministries is not a charity.
I don't need to look at their audits too prove my case that the ministry is not a Charity. It is in the UK that Church-Preneurs are compelled by law to operate by public Charity laws.

Anyone that grows wealthy by selling one form of religious belief or another is simply running a scam.
That is just common sense.

No one is forcing you to believe in Billy Graham's teachings, but it does sound stuvpid that you are willing to disparage the man's work, when you have no proof of what he is worth, or what his financial dealings, were.
Disparage what work exactly ? huh

Let me repeat again in another way, in case you didn't comprehend my earlier points.

A Charity is a public enterprise.
No matter who is the founder of a Charity, all monies donated, accrued or earned belongs to the charity, not to an individual or his family members.

Billy Graham ministries was not public enterprise. It was a private enterprise run by Billy Graham and his family.
It Isa family run enterprise, whether you call it a ministry or whatever.

Billy Graham and his family earned lucrative incomes and accumulated incredible wealth running that religio-business enterprise.

When a person earns a lucrative income and accumulates wealth , we call that person a successful businessman, genius or tycoon.

Whenever a person does same under the pretext of a religion where he earns stupendous wealth from selling faith or paraphernalia related to the faith he is selling, then we call that a scam.
Pure and simple.

That he exhudes humility, calmness and is less flamboyant than say Oyedepo and many of his contemporaries in the god/Jesus-scam business doesn't make him any less of a scammer.

Your interesting take, that there is no difference between god, capital or small letter, and the Toothfairy has been taken on board but why is your position that there aren't any difference between god, with capital first letter g and lowercase first letter g?
Point of correction sir.
If you neither believe in the existence of the Toothfairy nor Santa Claus, then you can only write or express opinion about the IDEAS or beliefs being peddled about Santa Clause and the Toothfairy . I don`t see how you can offer a definitive analysis of something whose existence is unproven.

If you keep trying to get a comparison of Capital letter god and small letter god, you are taking them from the realm of being mere Mental Projections , and projecting them as actual things that can be objectively observed, classified and analyzed ,.which they are not.
Christianity EtcRe: What Is God? by plaetton: 6:27pm On Feb 21, 2018

Why don't you believe capital first letter God and/or small first letter gods don't exist?
Probably for the same reasons you don't believe in the existence of the Toothfairy.

There is no difference between god, capital or small letter, and the Toothfairy.

It's all a matter of perspectives.
The mind`s perspective.
Most children are made into ( more like conned) believing in the existence of the Toothfairy, Santa Claus, etc, in the same way they brainwashed, conned, blackmailed into believing in the existence of small letter and capital letter god or gods.

Of course, You know that there is ZERO scientific evidence that such belief are nothing other than glorified primitive myths and lores.

Now , let me reiterate that the fact we have countless religions, countless sects within these religions, all trying to weave their own concept of god, and the very fact that we are here, using 21st century scientific tools arguing and trying to define god is the strongest proof that god is an idea, an always evolving idea.

Therefore, , any definition of god by anyone today would simply , just like in ancient times, be a projection of current perspective, just another idea.

Yes, he did.

If you run an enterprise whereby you make money, much more money than you invest, by peddling something, a tangible product or an abstract ideas , be it faith, snake oil, holy hankerchief, holy water, books that promote your products or ideas, then , by simple logic, you are running a for-profit enterprise.
If you agree, you're a freemarket business person.

If you give away all or the far greater percentage of your profits for public benefit, then you are CHARITY.

If you keep all or a far majority of the profits for yourself and enlarge the financial fortunes of your family and children, then you are a bona fide tycoon. Again, that is encouraged in the freemaket system.

However, if you refuse to be called tycoon , and refuse to aknowledge that you are running a family business enterprise, pretending that you are doing some work for some invisible god that public are somehow incapable of doing, then you are obviously running a bona fide scam.

That you are runninga more organized and more sophisticated, scandal-free scam does not in any way exonerate you from being a scammer.

I guess you did not see the same biography take a swipe at other ministers of the gospel. If he messed about I am sure his biography which serves as a chronicle of his life would NOT leave out that part would it? Let me post the part you obviously went blind when you were reading it.

He did not run a faith "business". He preached the gospel when it mattered the most to a people who really really needed it and of course the propagation of the gospel doesnt run on water for fuel but as demands and outreach numbers grow so do the Financial demands required to meet this growth.

He simply grew side by side with his mandate and was blessed alongside it as long as it showed in the increased work and outreach then it was not for profit as it were but based on demand.

He is said to have reached an estimated audience of 250million worldwide in 99 years of his life and 79 years in ministry and based on calculations that would be an average of 3.1 million people preached to every year. That requires money. Money for tracts, television coverage, Bible distribution, personal Crusades and visitations, etc.

Regarding his family who are so few when compared to the 250million or so he personally affected then imagine if each of those 250million people decide to graciously bless him from their heart with 1 dollar each. That would be 250 million dollars which he never solicited for but was given as a free will donation to his cause would you blame him for leaving some for his children and their welfare which even you would do for your own kids?

You speak bullshyte.
My friend, you still don't seem to get it.
You're pretending or simply too blind by your faith, to see my point.

It's silly to say that he did not run a faith scam simply because there were no scandals attached to his name during his church business career.
He was simply smarter, more disciplined and had more self-control than the rest. I will definitely give him credit for that.

Again, that he supposedly reached 250m people or 1 billion people with his message(faith scam) does not in anyway exonerate him from the fact that He ran a faith for profit enterprise.

Now, If you think that people and their families should grow stupendously rich peddling faith, well that's your opinion. Many people, including Christians, would disagree with you.

The subject of discussion requires a 3-legged stool of understanding,
which are:
1) "What is God",

So, in a thorough manner, convincingly describe what God and god(s) are,
Describe compare & contrast each, in all ways and manner you've come to understand what both noun words are and mean.
Also give, as much examples as can muster, that illustrates God and god(s)

By trying to show a difference between god with a small 'g' and god spelt with a capital 'g' , you are directly propositioning that such entities absolutely exists and their differences do exist.

For example, I have no idea what in the universe you are talking about when you make repeated references to small letter 'g' and capital letter 'g' gods. I don't find those in any science or astronomical journal.

Since you are absolutely sure of these convictions, the onus falls squarely on YOU to DEFINE these capital letter 'g ' and small letter 'g' entities .
