gberra:Only a very daft individual continues to speak without caring to mak e a single tangible point. ![]() There is more to having an education than simply being able to write sentences. As per your post above, again, I am not shocked that you display very poor comprehension skills. |
KratosCorp:So based on your above post, which of us has a non-objective , religious bias on this issue ? ![]() In my original post , I never mentioned Christianity nor Islam as a driver of my loathing for the institutionalized oppression of Palestinians. The oppression and open imprisonment of Palestinians under the most dehumanizing conditions is a fact, not my opinion. You completely ignored this fact, as if it is justified , simply because ancient Israel is the centre of your religious myths. Try to imagine yourself a Palestinian for once before you justify their oppression. And again, if you think Israel has a religious or historical justification to oppress the Palestinians, then you should likewise justify perhaps the Hausa/Fulani oppression of minority groups in Northern Nigeria and throughout Nigeria. We should all call a spade a spade. We must be CONSISTENT with our VALUES, and must be CONSISTENTLY vigilant about everyone's freedoms and fundamental human rights. |
gberra:Incapable of articulating a rebuttal, even a feeble one ? ![]() Perhaps there is something inside morons that keeps urging them to stand and show themselves in public. |
KratosCorp:Firstly, I don't have strong hate for Israel. I am just being consistent in my hatred of oppression, wherever I see it. My spirit just bleeds for oppression wherever I see it. As a Black man, I cannot but empathize with people , any people, under the yolk of oppression, discrimination or Apartheid, as in the case of Israel against the Palestinians. If FFK feels for the oppressed in Nigeria, he should likewise feel for the oppressed people of Palestine. It is purely on those grounds that I support the boycott. Secondly, contrary to what most ignorant Nigerians think, Israel is neither a Christian nation nor a deeply religious nation. Therefore, you cannot accuse me of religious bias on this issue. |
EmeeNaka:Israel is not a great nation. Israel is an oppressive State that still practices the worst form of racial discrimination and apartheid in this modern era As Africans, still traumatized by Slave trade , neocolonialism and Apartheid, we should share a common loathing for human Rights issues in Israel. Therefore, I support the Nigerian government's boycott. I admire FFK as the official opposition party in Nigeria. But when he goes off his rockers and begins to wax spiritual mumbo jumbo, he is on his own. ![]() |
KingEbukasBlog:Actually, communism is a political ideology that asserts or pretenrs to assert that individuals should have full control over their resources and labor. Communism, fully cognizant of the history and politics of religion, view religion as a yolk, an opiate, a control mechanism to exploit the masses by the few. And they are absolutely right in that regard. That is the only connection between communism and irreligion. The Communist manifesto NEVER EVER promoted atheism as a philosophical proposition. That some states defended or still defend their population from religious fifth makes perfect sense. Don't you or wouldn't you as a father or community leader, defend your children or community from a toxic river or any form of toxic emanations ? That atheists father's want to protect their children from middle East stench religions makes even more perfect sense. Same way you would defend your children from , say, the FLYING SPAGHETTI MONSTER ? ![]() Emancipate yourself from mental slavery, .only you can free yourself. May the soothing touch of Amadioha touch your young ignorant head. ![]() |
Afonjashapmouth:Who said religion is never forced down anyone's throat ? Is religion not primarily about blackmail ? Is blackmail not the equivalent of forcing something down one's throat? Don't parents force religion, their brand of religion, through their children's throat ? Most people are saddled with religious beliefs long before they are able to Begin to articulate their own thoughts. |
Firgemachar:Don't mind the slowpoke. They have forgotten so fast how Buhari left governance unattended for six months, ignorantly thinking that an economy vis similar leaving cows unattended in a grazing field. |
Splashme:I second that motion. Btw, so Aisha can wear trousers in the UK and not in Nigeria ? |
KahlDrogo:You're correct that no one gains anything by hating the North. There is nothing hateful about my post nor the main article in this thread. We are dealing with facts. And yes, the greedy southern politicians all go scrambling for crumbs at the center. But that itself is part and parcel of the Hausa Fulani conquest strategy. As you can see for yourself, even with distorted federal system we run, the South still outpaces the north 1000 to 1 in economic development and all human development indices. When Northern governors see the building of mosques as infrastructural developments, that is another pointer that the northern political elite should no longer be trusted with federal political power. Their feudal mindset is at odds with economic progress, equality and democracy. |
KahlDrogo:Basically, your point is that we should be drink coolade and let things be the way they are ? Truth is bitter. You can choose to act ostrich and keep your head permanently buried in the sand. It is a fact that the Hausa Fulani , from pre independence, have always seen and treated Nigeria as their conquered territory, not as a united country in the same way the average Southerner has seen it. Look at the history of Hausa Fulani leadership in Nigeria and see the repeating pattern of autocracy, NEPOTIST, sectionalism, economic retardation and degradation of democratic norms and values. So, yesterday when a Niger Delta buffoon like Tonyebacanista, a supposedly intelligent chap, opened a thread to convince us that the North deserves to keep power in 2019 because they had allegedly been politically shortchanged by Acts of Providence, I was soooo nauseated, so enraged that I couldn't comment on the thread without possibly earning a suspension. So yes, the article is 100℅ correct. The youth , aside from being completely ignorant of Nigerian history, are also devoid of critical thinking skills. Nairaland has exposed the intellectual paucity the Nigerian youths who lack the courage for deep reflection, and prefer the path of least resistance to insult and bully their neighbors who pose No harm to them, while making it easier for predators , their oppressor to operate with greater confidence and ease. Let say it again, anyone who thinks a bunch Northerners in Aso Rock, whether in the present dispensation or come 2019, 2023 or whenever, under this current federal system, will usher in unity, peace, economic progress and prosperity , is drinking a very strong drink of delusions. History is the best witness. |
wirinet:I don't disagree with you at all, simply because what you're saying is sensible. My points all along has been to challenge the ignorant assumptions that in the case of Biafran independence, Biafrans automatically would be persona non Grata in Nigeria. That too is an assumption, a wrong assumption that ignores the protocols and niceties of state boundary treaties . |
Misterdhee1:Again, repeating it for the 4th time today, no one seems willing to read , understand and respond to an issue in the proper context without throwing in a hypothetical situation as a rebuttal. Nome of all of you guys have made any points to refute the facts I presented. Is there an ECOWAS treaty or not ? Is Nigeria not a signatory to it or not? The answers to the above vindicates me. If Nigeria decides to be an ECOWAS renegade, that's another topic altogether. However, you're all hung up on the your envisaged and hypothetical projection that Nigeria would or should RENEGE on its ECOWAS treaty obligations, which itself is a completely different topic by itself. This is the single simple point that you and others miss? |
Mujtahida:Let me say it again. Comprehension and critical thinking skills are seriously deficient amongst the Nigerian populace. Most people come here to argue, without even understanding what they argue about. There are a lot of Nigerians who are proud to be Nigerian, but who live in UK, USA , Benin Republic, Cameroun , Ghana, etc. Not so ? ![]() So what is the problem with being Biafran by nationality ( in the contemplated eventuality), and then being (by choice or necessity ) a resident of Benin Republic, Niger Republic, Togo , Ghana or the UK or Nigeria ? ![]() Now, if you morons can't understand my posts and my points from that very simple perspective, then I am sorry, I can't help you with your comprehension issues. ![]() |
Mujtahida:Lol. If that's the way you understand it, then it's surely not my fault. Many Nigerians reside in neighboring and outside countries as either legal residents, illegal residents or dual citizens. Likewise, many people of other nationalities also reside in Nigeria as legal residents or citizens.. It is quite stuuupid to think or suggest that Biafra, if and when recognized as a sovereign country, would be an exception to the rule. |
ISpiksDaTroof:I guess then that in your worldview, the laws, the rule of law, the entire criminal justice system in Africa should be jettisoned, since, according you, we are already accustomed to jungle justice. Wow! What an Einstein moment! Doesn't this state of affairs clearly justify why some humans should decide to leave the jungle and be free to do so? |
Billyonaire:I love how you simplify complex issues into soft chewable bits for these children. ![]() |
ISpiksDaTroof:Again, very weak, very illogical argument. So because people have a tendency to disobey laws, therefore no one should rely on laws. This is the point your argument, and you can see how inane it is. |
ISpiksDaTroof:Sorry friend, the type of ignorance and poor comprehension skills I am seeing here is very troubling. Kindly read your own post again, and see all the contradictions therein. I am sorry, and pls don't take it personal, but there is an alarming dearth of critical thinking skills amongst Nigerians. |
SilentHaulers:Use common sense and stop reacting to issues like unthinking beings. The OP make several assertions based on simple ignorance. I responded to the post by pointing out correct and legitimate facts relating to the issue, things that were taught about in primary school. You're knee-jerk reaction to my rebuttal is an indication of poor reasoning skills. |
Dalek:The level of of ignorance here is most embarrassing. Your answers are staring you in the face. Now , by your assertion, Nigeria, being supposedly in control of ECOWAS, should also be the one that breaks ECOWAS most vital and primary rules ? ![]() You're thinking like a typical Nigerian, and therefore shouldn't be offended if someone tells you that you happily domiciled in a Zoo.., or is it a Jungle? ![]() |
Rossikki:Thoughtless post. First of all, no one needs to move from wherever they live. Any breakaway republic would automatically be recognized by the United Nations, African Union, and most importantly, ECOWAS. As a member ECOWAS, every Biafran would enjoy the legitimate protection of the ECOWAS charter and treaties that guarantees the right to move freely, live freely and own property in any ECOWAS country, including Nigeria. There will be no issue of abandoned property, movement restrictions or deportations. |
NewsPoacher:This data is incomplete, and therefore null and void for the purposes of comparisons. As everyone can see, the data for Anambra State is conspicuously absent. Therefore it quite silly and unethical to public a report for which data is incomplete. |
centboy123456: I guess you've never heard of manure, used as natural ferlizer for the soil ? ![]() |
It's time they are start teaching history , fact based history, in Nigerian schools. |
DieBuhari:I was just about to say the same. Cow is probably the most revered animal since antiquity. A cow is a wonder of nature. Every single part of the cow, from its skin, its bones, milk, meat, blood and even it's poo are useful for the sustenance of life. This is a great insult, and an apology is needed. |
wirinet:Lol. You don't seem to get it. We are all Biafrans in this Chaotic, dysfunctional feudal fiefdom called Nigeria. The word Biafra has come to connote freedom from the chaotic and parasitic clutches of feudal oligarchy. In this context, every Southerner, every middlebelter, every minority group in Nigeria is a Biafran. Itsekiri or any other SS ethnic group supporting the idealism of Biafra doesn't necessarily mean that they want to be or must be Biafrans by nationality. The time has come. Restructure Nigeria for the future equality, security, progress and prosperity of ALL Nigerians, or, Biafra for all. |
Ramaa:Well said. Charity begins at home. Foreign charities and celebs come to Nigeria, travel to the rural areas to aid the needy. Our own celebrities, shallow and vainglorious as they are, prefer to travel abroad to do find their own relevance where the needs are far less than our own. Same thing with Nigerian pastors who build multi-million dollar chapels abroad, whereas ignoring the poverty and the multitudes of needy in their own hometowns. |
Iamwrath:Excellent copout. That, I give you credit for. ![]() |
Mujtahida:Tell me any one historical even where there was equal representation of all major tribes. The fact that the soldiers from 4 or 5 different tribes participated , including Housa/Fulani, Yoruba, Middle belt, Midwest, etc, is enough to refute the ignorant assumption that it was a tribally inspired coup by IGBOS. In fact, the young coupists were young , exuberant idealists who thought they were doing the Nigerian masses a favor by creating a path for their hero, Obafemi Awolowo, a Yoruba leader ,then languishing in prison, to rule Nigeria. |
Iamwrath:A more intelligent person (something that is inbuilt?) would have provided facts to back up his rebuttal. ![]() |
Iamwrath:Unbelievable. You rather quote your so-called news channel than to face undisputed historical facts ? This is a case of cognitive dissonance. The fact, the historical data shows that every major tribe was represented in the 1966 coup. |
