mmm this is tough but considering that ur husband have a good business in nigeria and can give u and ur kids a good life in nigeria ,family should always come first, staying in UK without husband will destroy ur marriage and ur kids will grow up without there father which will affect them in the long round.
i think u and ur husband should sit down and discuss this issue, citizenship wont garantee u a better life.

It's very sad to hear that a nice lady of ur type that has good intention for marriage had it with a nonchalant, selfish and self centered man like ur hubby. i think u should try to be yourself it's not a easy situation but God will give u the strienght to take a right decition. it's soo sad
Family › Re: What Will You Do, If You Are In The Same Situation? by plappville(f): 11:34am On Nov 25, 2008
I advice u to go back to ur husband if really both of u really love each other as u claimed, distance can distroy feelings, and for ur kids, they need to also feel dad's love closer than it will be great for them to grow up with both parents, i live in the europe i know how difficult u re facing with these kids alone, it's not very easy to raise up kids how much more doing it alone. forget about paper thing, they will always have it in as long as they were born there. maybe u should register ur reason of relocating back to 9ja befor moving to avoid future stress.
Good luck.

That is a good observation. The Bible puts it precisely below:

"Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands." Proverbs 14:1
But this doesn't means men should take their wifes forgranted, as the head of the family i think men should put more effort to save their home than wifes does wink wink

If these kind of things don't take place how will the prophesy of Jesus Christ come to pass??

2 Peter 2:1-3: False Bible teachers would be money hungry. They would be smooth talkers, have many followers, and slur the Christian faith
"Like wetin dey happen these days with some pastors." Cant they spread the wealth to those motherless home or build free educational centers.

Homosexuality would be increasingly evident at the end of the age (2 Timothy 3:3)
the rate of homosexuality today is a prove. shocked shocked shocked

Deadly diseases would be prevalent (Matthew 24:7). )
The worldwide increase in AIDS deaths is almost inestimable.
Over 160,000 Americans die of cancer each year. Many more evidence to prove that the endtime is here but still no 1 knows the time.

Christians shouldn't be ignorant of the truth, they should read more of their bible not only listening to the words of pastors and all that, forgetting that on the last day, Pastor go answer him papa name.
Christianity Etc › Re: Chris Oyakhilome, Is He A Man From Satan? by plappville(f): 3:48pm On Nov 22, 2008
i can see why u deeper life are so primitive and backward. If u as a follow u will only
recognised ur kumuyi as the only man of God in the whole world.I wonder why u even came to the cybercafe when u people do not watch tv.He ask not to buy tv so that u can remain in ur primitive life.Very soon he will tell u not to use gsm because it it a sin .Any case u are u to decided who is a true man of God and who is not.U better drop ur primitive behavour and follow the bible and stop jurging people.I prayer God should forgive for critising a true man of God
You are doing thesame mistake as @ Poster did, why are u judging that Kumuyi asked them not to watch TV?? do u think watching TV has anything to do with been primitive? u should know that Kumuyi is a Math Lecturer in the universasity of Lagos he is not a primitive man and did not teach primitiveness to his members.

@ poster, Please try and withdraw the topic because it is wrong to judge in this manner, it's true that many men of God are not showing good example as Christ did, This is why we should be careful with the kind of temple we go to worship our God, let the spirit of God direct u to a true church but don't insult any1 all in the name of claiming to be the bast Christian.
Christianity Etc › Re: Church Business In Nigeria by plappville(f): 3:09pm On Nov 22, 2008
OBVIOUS:
Good point made Horus and Gamine. Actually, if you're poor in Nigeria, rather than blame be on the corrupt

politicans and co who exploit the innocent masses, it is believed that the witches and wizards are after you, or that

you're not praying hard enough. In fact, some pastors recommend that you should fast until you reach the point of

death. If you complete all these instructions and still you are still poor. The evil powers are strong, and its either u're

committing or have commited a sin, your family members are after you, or that u're just not "holy" enough, and the

bogus continues until you get money some way (legal or through illegal means) and then give a testimony/ then continue

the cycle, pay your tithes or else, god may not bless you again.
Take a look at W.F. Kumuyi, a real man of God very humble and Giving nothing but the true doctrim of our Lord Jesus christ, he is a good example of Jesus nowadays disciple. Deeper life is the only church i ve seen that people are regards as equal, i mean both poor and rich, i feel there is God in that church, there is no fashion compitition, no rich sit in front while poor at the back in the church or telling congregation to pay a good offering, u will feel free in that church, they sometime do donation for some poor people who are not able to feed and do visiting brethren alots.
If one really want to follow God that place is good, PASTOR KUMUYI teach straightforward Bible-based message his preaching is really devine and Christians living and holiness is very serious and important to him.

I think there are some few good men of God out there, Just pray to God for him to direct u to the right place of worship.

Christianity Etc › Is God Pleased With True Christians Celebrating Christmas? by plappville(op): 9:06am On Nov 22, 2008
I was wondering why christmas is said to be the birthday of Jesus christ when the bible stated that there was no record of the day/month/year he was born. Do real christians suposed to celebrate this thing called Christmashuh? read this articles and tell us what u think.

How Did Christmas Come to Be Celebrated on December 25?

A. Roman pagans first introduced the holiday of Saturnalia, a week long period of lawlessness celebrated between December 17-25. During this period, Roman courts were closed, and Roman law dictated that no one could be punished for damaging property or injuring people during the weeklong celebration. The festival began when Roman authorities chose “an enemy of the Roman people” to represent the “Lord of Misrule.” Each Roman community selected a victim whom they forced to indulge in food and other physical pleasures throughout the week. At the festival’s conclusion, December 25th, Roman authorities believed they were destroying the forces of darkness by brutally murdering this innocent man or woman.

B. The ancient Greek writer poet and historian Lucian (in his dialogue entitled Saturnalia) describes the festival’s observance in his time. In addition to human sacrifice, he mentions these customs: widespread intoxication; going from house to house while singing naked; rape and other sexual license; and consuming human-shaped biscuits (still produced in some English and most German bakeries during the Christmas season).

C. In the 4th century CE, Christianity imported the Saturnalia festival hoping to take the pagan masses in with it. Christian leaders succeeded in converting to Christianity large numbers of pagans by promising them that they could continue to celebrate the Saturnalia as Christians.[2]

D. The problem was that there was nothing intrinsically Christian about Saturnalia. To remedy this, these Christian leaders named Saturnalia’s concluding day, December 25th, to be Jesus’ birthday.

E. Christians had little success, however, refining the practices of Saturnalia. As Stephen Nissenbaum, professor history at the University of Massachussetts, Amherst, writes, “In return for ensuring massive observance of the anniversary of the Savior’s birth by assigning it to this resonant date, the Church for its part tacitly agreed to allow the holiday to be celebrated more or less the way it had always been.” The earliest Christmas holidays were celebrated by drinking, sexual indulgence, singing naked in the streets (a precursor of modern caroling), etc.

F. The Reverend Increase Mather of Boston observed in 1687 that “the early Christians who first observed the Nativity on December 25 did not do so thinking that Christ was born in that Month, but because the Heathens’ Saturnalia was at that time kept in Rome, and they were willing to have those Pagan Holidays metamorphosed into Christian ones.”[3] Because of its known pagan origin, Christmas was banned by the Puritans and its observance was illegal in Massachusetts between 1659 and 1681.[4] However, Christmas was and still is celebrated by most Christians.

G. Some of the most depraved customs of the Saturnalia carnival were intentionally revived by the Catholic Church in 1466 when Pope Paul II, for the amusement of his Roman citizens, forced Jews to race naked through the streets of the city. An eyewitness account reports, “Before they were to run, the Jews were richly fed, so as to make the race more difficult for them and at the same time more amusing for spectators. They ran… amid Rome’s taunting shrieks and peals of laughter, while the Holy Father stood upon a richly ornamented balcony and laughed heartily.”[5]

H. As part of the Saturnalia carnival throughout the 18th and 19th centuries CE, rabbis of the ghetto in Rome were forced to wear clownish outfits and march through the city streets to the jeers of the crowd, pelted by a variety of missiles. When the Jewish community of Rome sent a petition in1836 to Pope Gregory XVI begging him to stop the annual Saturnalia abuse of the Jewish community, he responded, “It is not opportune to make any innovation.”[6] On December 25, 1881, Christian leaders whipped the Polish masses into Antisemitic frenzies that led to riots across the country. In Warsaw 12 Jews were brutally murdered, huge numbers maimed, and many Jewish women were raped. Two million rubles worth of property was destroyed.

Christianity Etc › Re: Church Business In Nigeria by plappville(f): 6:39pm On Nov 21, 2008
Some people here say the poster is judging servants of God shocked Doesn't the bible say, we should beware of false prophets?? and didn't the bible said in Matt 24:5 that For many shall come in my name, saying I am Christ and shall deceive many.   ? If we are ignorant of what most pastor do, we are then not follwing the instruction of Jesus christ.

I went to Christ embassy Benin branch years back, it was offering time, the pastor said
Do not give coins to God, if u give him coins he will give u coins, but if u give him note, he will give u note shocked
i mean is this really what God asked them to do, i didn't feel the presence of God in that place i stop attending that church. i am not saying there is no God in Christ embassy, it all depense on who is heading each branch, same to other churches.

@POSTER let the spirit of God direct ur heart to the right place of worship, God judgement is on any pastor that is using his name to distrol others. they are suposed to win souls to God instead they win NAME and wealth for themselves.

I wonder if they do donate to motherless home, Jesus Christ was not as fashionist as they are, they drive the most expensive cars and wear the most expensive clothes, all in the name of"our God is not a poor God".
