centje: the post you quoted never mentioned any particular ethnic group. Why start tribal war?
Please disregard the idiiot.. He is one of the idiotic SSS officers on the board. It's just one of their moronic ways of derailing any thread crediting any of the opposition parties.

On the other thread, he wrote Yoruba as Yoruba and in the same sentence wrote Igbo as ibo, just to infuriate either of the two tribes and spark up another tribal tussle and make them forget the main purpose of the thread. That's what they do

I doubt you do. And by the way, speaking about the law being in circulation, how else do you expect him to disseminate the law to the people? You don't expect him to print the laws in hard copies and send a copy to your home, do you?

You have read about it, its your responsibility to find out about the law. Ignorance of the law is not an excuse. I wonder if you have ever received a copy of Nigerian Constitution in the mail from the federal government. Have you?

Apart 4rm Kanu and his Nig teamat in Ajax tell me anoda CL hero. Is mikel of course. If u nigerians dnt value him, he is much relevant nd integral part of Chelsea nd Super Eagle. Lampard is sayin d truth.
@Bolded, you see what sunday tribune has done to your sport knowledge? Mikel shunned Man U? Very funny. And FYI, Man U signed Mikel for 4m pounds from Lyn Oslo and before the beginning of the season sold him to Chelsea for 12m pounds. That's cool 8m pounds profit within few weeks. You should commend that.
SportsRe: Mikel Is Underrated By Outsiders - Frank Lampard by playboy19(m): 1:18am On Jul 31, 2012
Tisa: Mikel is the reason I hate mourinho as a coach. He bought mikel then with the sole aim of ruining his game. I still can comprehend the wisdom in his decision to convert an attacking mid fielder (@ the height of his game back then as an 18yr old) to a defensive mid fielder. Back then during the transfer saga I said to my friends that Mikel will be making a big mistake if he dished man u for chelsea simply because sir alex has an impeccable record of nurturing youngsters to stardom but maybe money blinded Mikel and his manager and he crossed to chelsea.

Mikel was second only to Messi, the world always paused to watch Nigeria vs Argentina matches during the competitions the two countries played but today you can't even imagine comparing the two of them.

This saddens me and I will continue to hate mourinho for it. If u guys will recall even former coach amodu protested to eufa n fifa about mourinho's racist decision then.

It is well sha. Only GOD know the height Mikel wld ve been by now.
If you think converting him to a DMF was totally a bad idea, then you simply do not know what makes an individual player, in this case Mikel. Just incase you do not know Mikel very well, i will tell you one quality he has that 99% of all the players in this world does not have. Aside from his passing skills, Mikel has an impeccable stop-ability. Mikel can put his foot on the ball and no one will take the ball off under his foot. The best you can do is fall him, which will win him a foul. This is one of the things that makes a good DMF. And this was what Chelsea needed at the time and Mourinho was able to spot that. Infact, that was the first thing i spotted in him the first time i saw him play. And, right now... i believe he is doing well at that role.

Damn do you guy even know who a DMF is? A good DMF is the only reason your main striker could decide not to come and defend if he so desire. He could just stay all day with the opposing defenders, why? Cos his own defense is covered. You guys really need to understand the role but criticizing anyone playing in it.
SportsRe: Mikel Is Underrated By Outsiders - Frank Lampard by playboy19(m): 11:52pm On Jul 30, 2012
Too many kids with little or no understanding of football. As a United fan, i can tell you the only thing United is lacking right now is Mikel. Let chelsea put him on the market right now (thank God he's just 25) and see if SAF will not pick him up without a second thought. This guy does not even need to score. Football is a team game. It requires role playing. Long as you play your role, fvck every other thing. And for the record, Mikel was never a DMF, he started out as a CMF and was converted to a DMF when he joined Chelsea. And yea, Mikel is not good, yet he was never up for sale.

I remember i once saw one of his interviews, he said he always would want to make offensive moves but all Chelsea's coaches except Di Matteo would always say "Don't even try it". So when your coach tell you not to even try going to the front, then what can you really do? Please somebody tell me who doesn't like to score? Who gave Ivanovic, Terry and A. Cole the gut to move offensively? Mikel, ofcourse. How? Cos they are sure they have someone to cover up for them at the back. His role is a very critical one. He is the heart of the whole match. I'm sure y'all can't put a non-entity in charge of your heart, can you? In summary, football is not all about goals.

IT CAN NEVER BE WELL WITH NIGERIA! And hey, that is not a new curse, but it is a fundamental one.

How could all this possible so look down on 160 million people and come out with this piece of iron and call it robot? Do they think we are this dumb or what? Or are they the dumb ones here? In a country that has millions of foreign travellers? With over 20 million of her citizen living in advanced world? This is what you come out to present to them as a car-stopping-bomb-detecting "robot"? Damn... i weep for this country.

This is not even a bomb detecting device, it's just some random road-block pieces of iron wedded together. With first University in Africa, millions or graduates, millions of final year projects written and defended, billion of naira injected into the so-called Nigerian Army, is this all we can come up with to solve a menace as huge as Boko Haram?

Please, tell me how it could ever be well with Nigeria? Please...somebody

I dnt believe nigeria is dat bad...yes we have problems but we can overcome it only if we don't stop believing dat we can overcome!

I will ask dis again wat is d essence of living in d country or being a nigerian when u believe that we will never get better...its like going to d hospital but believing u will never get well! Just die now!
Hhehehehe..lol you are very funny. You know, i knew where you were coming from, from your first statement. I was only trying to make you see the business side which most Nigerians who are not "pratical" business people dont see.

Believing in Nigeria has absolutely nothing to do with it. So stop being emotional. It's strictly business from here. Being emotional about your country will only get you broke and if you're already broke, you'll only remain the way you are (that's not precisely directed to you but just speaking generally).

Between, if i dont believe in Nigeria, i wont invest in Nigeria this much. But i'm only trying to make you see the reality of investing in the country. I'm not saying you wont make your money, infact what i'm trying to say is, if you are smart or lucky enough to make money to buy NNPC stock, then you are smart enough to start some other businesses on your own and make more money. What i'm saying is, you should leave stock like NNPC to the big boys that already hold it to ransom. Leave long term investments like this if you truly want to be rich.

If you're not strong enough, don't buy into a game that has no Rule.

billante: I don't think apple investors knows about d day to day running of the company! But they smile to bank every year!
Absolutely right. But that is in the US of A. The probability of that happening in Nigeria is so slim you need microscope to find it. The reason;

1. As reported, 90-95% start ups in Nigerian dont last 10 years

2. The "C" word, sir. Corruption. Try and open a pure water retail store (not manufacturing, just retail) and have someone manage it for you for a year and see if you'd have a balanced sheet.

3. Long term investment is not good for Nigerian youth, reason? The elders leave no space for you. Try buying into Nigerian brewery and see how that goes, even the NNPC we are talking about see how it'll go.

Sir, let's face reality and not some speculations. I'm in no way a pessimist but a realist base on experience. I'm not a failure in any of my businesses, infact, i'm a envy of my peer. But, the earlier we understand how Nigerian setting works and stop comparing our setting with the western world, the better for us all. Nigeria cares more about perception than reality, so you must try and get yourself up first before thinking of trying to dine with the rich. Invest in something within your reach. Get yourself ready for the dinning challenge.

In summary, i believe the NNPC stock wont get to us all, it's strictly for "Them".
PoliticsRe: 30% Equity Of NNPC To Be Sold To Nigerians by playboy19(m):
billante: Dou you think if dangote was doing a bird at hand is worth more than 100 in d bush he will be where he is today!!

Billionairs and succesful companies are risk takers
Sir, do you live in that country, Nigeria? Have you ever invested $10,000 and above in that country? If you answer yes to either of these questions, then you are a risk taker.

In business, it is not just about taking any risk, it is about taking a well calculated risk. I have alot of investment in that country and i spend most of my time in the country. And please, you guys should stop citing Dangote (though, i admire his success) as a good example when talking about risk taking. He had it way easier.

He was handed N500,000 start up fund in the year when a brand new Peugeot 504 was the best in the country and cost N4,000 only. Some people would say "JUST" N500,000 but what they forgot is that, that amount was huge way back then. How many 504 will you buy in N500,000 @ the rate of N4k each, thats like 125 brand new Peugeot 504. So invariably, he had an investment capital that could have started a big Peugeot 504 Dealship that woulda have had not less 150 brand new 504s in show room, so try and picture how big that is. That was what he got as his seed funds. And not to forget the confidence that comes with having a step/father that could come to your rescue if ever you fail.

Now back to the present situation of things, you can't even get Venture capitalists to hear you out this day, lest the banks. Even if you are ever lucky to get a loan from the bank, the interest rate rises at anytime, and there's nothing you can do about it. So taking risk in business in Nigeria is just way difficult than how it is written in different books, you wont understand it until you're really into it.

Now what am i trying to say? Don't ever invest in anything you can't monitor or have a say in. In Wall Street, there is this common saying among the brokers that they will never say to your face; INVESTORS DONT MAKE MONEY, TRADERS Do! So think it 10 times before investing is shiits like NNPC, it may sound good on the surface but deep down, you might be heading for a big doom. How does gold minning sound to you? Great right?...lol Whitaker Wright, sound familiar? I doubt.

And to answer your your question. If i'm getting to buy the "Controlling Interest" ofcourse i wont hesitate. If i'm buying in to have an opportunity to sit on the board, sure i will but anything short of that, i wont and please call me dummb, i like it when you do that.

You can not call people stupid for being skeptical, we were told of a N2 trillion fraud last year that primarily involves NNPC. Do you think there is suddenly going to be transparency? huh
He prolly must have forgotten that some of us actually work so hard to make our money.

Whenever an ipo comes up at d nigeria stock exchange everybody is allowed to buy as long as u buy earlier! Its a first come first buy basis...d worst dat will happen is dat there will be over subscription and in dat case it is either they absorb d excess funds or return back d money to late subscribers! In most cases they absorb d money and inject d fund into new projects...if 30% was worth 1billion dollars it will now be worth 1.5 or 2 billion dollars....beside nnpc needs lot of money to develop new projects.

So u guys should just stop being stupid for once.
Excuse moi sir, which planet are you from? Well, i believe as a shrewd investor, you must first do a thorough dissection of the company you're investing in, then next is to calculate your risk (Risk Assesment), then next is determine for how long you want to hold on to your investment... Please, it will be kind of you if you could do us all the favor of publishing NNPC's success profile and why it is wise to invest in them in terms of risk?

I believe it'd be utterly dummb of anyone to invest in any company just because of the name, NNPC in this case. Please list out the names of the Directors and their credibility and then the company's balance sheet (Shiit), if you have access to that. That way, we'd all be able to judge who is being stupid here.

Super1759: 6 plots of land makes a hectare.6 times 25000 is 150,000plots of land. Like he was trying to create his own republic
If this freaks you, wait till i do the correct calculation for you.

tessyade: Your calculation is slightly wrong. The report gave 2,500 hectares not 25,000 hectares (used in your calculation) but all the same thats too much.
Yes he was wrong, but like you said, even 2,500 hectares is evil.

@Super1759, if you check the size very well, you will see it's in Hectares, and not Acres, meanwhile, 2.5 Acres = 1 Hectare

Translation, 2,500 x 2.5 will give you the number of Acres, which = 6,250 Acres. Now if you want to know the number of Plots, you can then multiply that by 6.. you do the math.

Our leaders no longer steal our money, cos they already have too much, now they are taking our heritage and we are all cracking jokes around. While other brainwashed iidiots are busy engaging themselves in political e-touting. SMH

I will advice you to go for the Toyota camry any day. You already know my reasons and again, if you're selling them back, you'll have a buyer for the toyota quicker than the Honda. To buy a second hand Honda car, people are always scared. They'll ask you over and over again why you are selling it. Trying to be sure that you're not offloading it cos of gear problem.

And if you are looking for luxury in the toyota camry, give it one. The A/C that comes with the toyota has no match. The speakers are top notch... the only boring part is the dash board of you which you can always buy a car dvd to pimp it up...Shikena
