Chibuking81: Fidelity will see below 1.20 if not 1.10, in the months of September. Remember, their 2017 EPS seems to be same with FCMB. ( Fidelity 31, FCMB 30) The only difference, is that Fidelity grow in profit to reach FCMB, while FCMB decline in profit to be almost the same with Fidelity. I always feel pain when i see people who should know falling for this kind of manipulation. fcmb eps is not 30k at H1 2017. what you see here is annualised. And to know that some investment houses also fell for this thing is really a shame |

mendes911: Chief, are you saying that people are buying Fidelity now hoping that the price will move north tomorrow?
The best that might happen is that bears will retract and the likes of Diamond will be forced to level up with Fidelity.
But I have also been wrong in the past, I could also be wrong this time around. But the probability that prices will drop seems high enough for me to back off.
Make we continue dey watch. People buy stocks for different reasons. I actually sold my fidelity today at N1.37. My point is that we should be careful in predicting the direction of the market. |

I take side eye dey look all these guys buying fidelity. They must know what I don't know. The market is a two way thing. One has to be prepared since nobody knows for certainly the direction the market will go. |

https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2017/08/30/wigwe-banks-cannot-provide-for-power-sector-loans-because-its-systemically-important/On his prediction for the financial services industry, he said: “I think a couple of things would happen. You don’t just come out of a recession and nothing happens. “You would see a spike in non-performing loans, particularly as loans mature. You know, some of those loans would just be maturing, so you would see a spike and then it would get better. “So what you are likely to see, depending on the risk management philosophy of the bank, you would see a spike between now and December 2018. “But I think the banks are certainly in much better positions to handle it than they did during the last exercise that happened in 2007-2008. |

Chibuking81: OK, if they repeat the payment of last year based on their current price
1. GTB (1.75 + .25 interim = 2) 2 X 100,000 = #200,000 2. Zenith (1.77 + .25 interim = 2.02 ) 2.02 x 174,900 = #353,298 3. Access (.40 + .25 interim = .65) .65 x 398,000 = #258700 4. UBA (.55 + .20 interim = .75) .75 X 416,500 = #312,375 The best approach is to define our investment objectives. In terms of dividend yield and p/e, gtb is definitely lagging behind. I personally like companies with high dividend yield and low p/e but the point is there are others out there who would look at some other variables in picking stocks. Whatever works best for us, we should stick with it. |

Chibuking81: Please can someone explain to me why the earning of GTB/Stanbic bank with their current price has a big difference when compared with Zenith, Access and UBA.
The first is high in their stock price but small in its earning, while the later are small in their price but high in their earning when compare with the price of GTB/ Stanbic .
Please I need an explanation.
I hope one can rightly say that the first set are in their fair price region, while the others are in their undervalued region. Fundamentals is not about eps only. There are other variables that investors look for in a company. What places Gtb above Other banks is their efficiency. Check out return on equity, return on assets, cost to income ratio, interest expenses and so on and so forth. I did a comparative analysis of the five big banks and what I found was very revealing. Here is one of what I found : Gtb has the lowest personnel expenses among the group, about half of the other. Gtb 16.36b: access 27.74b: uba 33.95b: zenith 36.21b: fbn 42.0b as at H1 and yet gtb has the highest PAT. And one other thing that is going for them is their consistency. They have built a reputation over time and this has generated a positive sentiment for them. In my own opinion, the premium is justified and this will likely continue for many more years. There is no point arguing with Mr market on pricing, the best approach is to align ourselves with the direction that Mr market provides. |

Nairaruky: What you do not understand in d game of conspiracy against the masse by d rich is that the issue of subsidiary is buried. What they do now is called derivatives of derivatives that will make shares worthless. Arm will invest your money in mansard at d highest bid (U loose money) They will sell for you at the lowest offer. The shares of arm in mansard is far differ from what u are seeing in the game of conspiracy. The financial predators are after your money,if you escape them at mutual funds, they are waiting for you at the securities arm, if u dodge dm at this level..a doom is already planted at the pension funds.( dy are allowed to invest your money in shares, tb,promissory note, commercial paper, banker acceptance note) etc Same conspiracy is being played at stanbic IBTC but with a slight compassion for investors ,dz is contrary to arm that is known for heartlessness. You do not need to be a prophet to see that fbn will soon ask the govt of Nigeria for a bail out. By then the share value will collapse to N2.00 While by 2020 Arm will float an investment or a deposit bank...still the pattern of derivatives. They are following the pathway of leman brother, AIG etc In all dz scenario, the investors have no profit Money created for the rich from the labour of the poor. Money only exist in imagination. We must read books and free our friends and foe from financial slavery. Pls share dz link free to all Nigerians

The secret to success is in knowledge Dz information age is going to be a persistent battle BTW the ruled and d ruler I don't believe in conspiracy theory the way you are putting it. We are all architect of our (mis)fortune in money management. The rich do not sit anywhere to conspire against the poor. Knowledge is key but we need the right application of it. |

rebekah2011: UCAP will do its magic in Q4. Expecting the dividend income from the subsidiaries not to be less than 6b. Looking at 50k dividend for the full year. It is better you moderate your expectation on UCAP. The possibility of the company paying a 50k dividend at full year is very slim. Profits were boosted last year as a result of the sale of one of the subsidiaries which is a one off thing. Putting all your money in one stock when you are not the owner of the company is not the best way to manage investment risk. My humble submission! |

currentprice: i think the result is better than GT based on this Q2,, though Gt will always win base on their efficiency
look at their pbv gt 2.2 access 0.6
with my tasere analysis base on dis Q2 alone Fair value N12
might cross over N20 if they maintain the pace by Q3 and Q4 Not comparing with other banks yet. Comparing access with access q/q is what i am talking about. The profit for q2 on a stand alone basis is about half of profit of q1. Will look at it in details to see what might have been the reason for a decline in q2 profit. |
