Guys I have been chasing my unpaid dividend with first registrars for many months now despite attesting to the fact that they have received all necessary documents from me.. last time I contacted them in early Aug they said it would "soon" be paid ... What avenue is available to investors to escalate such matters ? SEC? pls advise
I am in the same shoe with you.
They are very useless at first registrars.
I had to submit e dividend form twice with 2 different banks when they claimed they did not see the first one.
I have called them and they acknowledged they have received it..
Almost a month now and they are yet to pay me. I have mailed them but they are not responding to my messages again.
If there is somebody I can report them to, I will gladly do that.

Gurus in the house!...its me again!...still learning!...please I have a question?...does anyone know y FCMB is currently @1naira and on full offer?...since nothing in its fundamentals has changed please help
FCMB fundamentals are not good enough.
I will not advise anybody to buy Fcmb now, it is better we wait to see what the next quarter result will be.
It is my strongest opinion that tier2 banks with the exception of Fidelity will likely perform poorly at q3.

oga mi,,,it is understandable if we are panicking because of python whatever on ci leasing movement but let not compare this stock with M & B. even at currentprice M&B price is not justifiable base on their fundamental grin grin grin.

with currentprice c&i leasing still have places to go

what are u doing with your Dangote flour sir

grin
There is no need to panick because of any python.
What is happening in the market is normal. A market does not go in a straight line and as such there will be occasional dips and ups.
If anything, price/volume of oil and external reserve are more important to nse than all those noisemakers.

You have said it all, there is no basis to compare ci with m & b. , though that does not mean ci cannot go into reverse gear tomorrow .

You're actually saying we should talk farming without mentioning weather. I acknowledge the need to minimize distractions, but you cannot talk investment without occasionally straying into politics.
Politics and investment are like mother and child, where politics is the mother. It is the greatest influence over your investment and the entire financial markets.
Do you know that the assessment of political risk is the beginning of due diligence for foreign investors, to avoid throwing their money into a political lagoon?
If the situation in the SE is allowed to deteriorate, for instance, it will damage your portfolio far more than the present military deployment somebody is bickering about.
A stitch in time saves nine.
And how will discussing politics here help to solve the problem?
Before we know it, this place will also derail and what kill smn will most likely kill this one too if political discussions is not stopped.

Bail out with a heavy loss..no..I will reload when it get to 5naira...and hold it for 1yr..Afterall na people hold FBNH for 2yrs before making 100%.
In my own opinion, oando should be for jijo and not a stock for long time.
I can't hold a stock that will not allow me to sleep well at night.
Why can't you sell and move on. Of course the price could still go up after you sell but you can move your money to other stocks that in all probability will also give capital appreciation and peace of mind.

Okomu oil is among the stocks that has the highest manipulators in the market.
The usually cause heart attack, be careful when your follow them at current price.
I keep my eyes on the company and not what the manipulators are doing.
As long as the company keeps churning out good results quarter on quarter, I have nothing to fear.

Dn't be too confident in Diamond bank q3 result. As stated earlier, since 2015 their impairment charges during the second half of the year usually soaks up the profit. But if they get it right this time, good for all of us. In my opinion, I would suggest we take some level of precaution.
I totally agree with you.
All those paper profit can disappear in the next quarterly report.

When you look at chart, it gives you entry zone. As well back off zone if you are not going on a long term journey.
I don't look at chart when I am buying value stocks grin

Yea, the lower the entry price, the better for a value investor.
However I have learnt to be realistic with my entry and exit price.

As we are getting ready for final year result which is coming up in 3 months plus, after the Q3 which ends this month , from my own personal effort and point of view, the following stocks constitute my stock pick.

1. Fidelity bank
2. Zenith bank
3. Dangote flour
4. Diamond bank
5. Eternal
6. Conoil
7. UACN
8. FBNH
9. FCMB
10. UBA
11. Honeywell
12. Afriprud
13. United capital
14. GTB
15. SKY and Transcorp ( two sided, 50/50)

Buy at good price now and stand a chance of winning 30 - 60% in less than six months from now
Why did you put SKY there? A company that has not released its result for almost two years huh
Buying sky is like a man who will go to a casino to play game after he has gulped enough alcohol.

Diamond is a great stock no doubt. My only fear is their loan provision. H2 loan provision is usually quite highly than H1 since 2015. If they get it right by q3, I will increase my holding.
With the H1 results of the 3 banks, I will choose Fidelity over the other if they were to be selling at the same price. We should also note that Fidelity result is audited which makes it more reliable than the other two.
And besides the efficiency ratios favor Fidelity..
Diamond is a bigger bank and should be doing better but they have been bogged down over the year by high impairment charges.

I expect a spike in NPL across board going into H2 for all the banks hence I will advise that we all should take a cautious approach in buying bank shares going forward.

Please explain more, but what I saw is 2017 Q2 report not final year.

Maybe, there's something you know that I don't know.

Please help to expose any form of manipulation, am 100% in support of that, before we see another Oando and Transcorp.
We have discussed it here before
fcmb os is 19.8b
PAT is 3b.
eps is PAT/os ; 3/19.8=0.15
When you annualised, you multiply by 2 which gives us 0.3 which is exactly what they did..
They did not do any wrong actually but as investors we should shine our eyes and not be deceived by headlines.
Fcmb eps at H1 2017 is 0.15 and not 0.3
