Did he state why he hadn't apply for the certificate since 2003 when he started running for president? Did he state when he submitted the request for the certificate? Did he say when the certificate will be ready? That press statement is nothing but a lame attempt at damage control! Buhari is a damaged product; he is the FACE of CORRUPTION! Just as the principal wrote many years ago that Buhari WILL pass maths (which he did not pass), APC are also telling us that Buhari WILL...
The truth is that Buhari WILL NOT ...
- fight corruption - solve power problem - improve the economy
because Buhari CANNOT!
He did not pass the subject his principal said he would, neither will he do as APC fans are dreaming. Buhari is a cheat who prefers easy route! |

barcanista: The PDP isn't in court because they know that they have no case. However, they are deliberately capitalizing on this to make it look like a scandal. What I am saying is that the APC should step in and shut them up, because the PDP is playing on the emotions of people. PDP don't need to play on people emotion. The people are convinced that Buhari is a product of quota system; he corruptly benefited from the recruitment process without having the basic requirement. What's more, Buhari didn't have the foresight to even regularised the anomaly. That is what the people know so far, they don't need the PDP to tell them these, they can see through the charade put up by the unlettered one and his band of discombobulated advisers! |

AndreRose: The 1999 constitutionof Nigereia(section 131 subsection D) provides that its the secondary school certificate and not primary school one. So if he can not produce it, he has failed one of the requirements needed. Well we shouldn't deny an old man some joy (before he joins his forebear as predicted by Fayose). If Buhari can present his Primary Six certificate (Common Entrance), I think INEC should tamper justice with mercy! |

How about this extract from his principal's recommendation letter? Did he pass Maths as assured the Military by the Principal?

barcanista: So you think one will just walk into USAWC without having prerequisite qualification? The APC manages his campaign and everything that has to do with it. I am 100% sure that the General has got nothing to hide. The only prerequisite then was nomination by the country! Buhari, even though unqualified, was nominated by Nigeria government. One would have expected him to have regularised by sitting for GCE or NECO. Unfortunately, Buhari has a lower premium paid on education unlike you or I. Buhari also failed his principal wrote that he "believe he (Buhari) would pass english and Maths". Buhari is a fraud; he is the face of corruption! |

A man cannot give what he does not have!
Buhari did not finish secondary school, and never bothered to seat for GCE, NECO, name it! The best Buhari can get is a First School Leaving Certificate.
It's sad that Buhari rose through the rank without his WASC, and without any effort the do the needful. Such is a glaring example of fraud at highest level; it a classic description of CORRUPTION!
Buhari should bow his head in shame for approaching equity with insanely soiled hands! |
Politics › Re: Buhari Has Lost This Election. by PointB: 12:12pm On Jan 21, 2015 |
But Buhari did have his FSLC (First School Leaving Certificate aka Primary School Certificate), maybe he should use that one to avoid all this embarrassment. We all know that WAEC is noy easy an exam to pass. Many people had to write it multiple times to pass. So I can understand Buhari going through the 'recommendation letter' route! |

Clueless despotic Buhari is an unlettered sickly bigot.

tete7000: With this certificate issue alone, I can't vote Buhari. There is no way a man who is not faithful in little thing like certificate can fight corruption. NEVER. The annoying thing is: going by the mode in which he attained his accomplishments, he will not see a big deal in promoting people with mediocrity. Giving people (especially the northerners) appointments even when they are not qualified cannot be alien to him. People may argue how has a man with PhD fair with his qualification? That question however rather brings another twist to the drama. It raises another serious question: If a man with PhD seems to be struggling, what can we then expect a man without SSCE to perform? I don't want to be taken away by argument that Buhari rose to become a General in Nigerian Army . The truth is that Hausa/Fulani controlled and dominated the military for long that getting to the top irrespective of your qualification or background as long as you are from their stock cannot be a problem. Example is what we see in Abacha. It is their attitude of not caring about qualifications that brought so much rot into the Nigerian Army and even Nigeria as a whole. I personally went to school, study hard, know my onions, have come to appreciate distinction and professionalism and believe how well read determines how you perform in any given office. I refuse to give in to argument that a man with little education is better than one with higher education. If that argument holds water, the world can as well wipe out secondary and higher education while we all simply go to school to simple learn to read and write. What is the essence of people spending their resources and life time studying if it can be argued that such is not necessary. Now this is a very sensible comment. Well said! |

Now this development has increased the workload of his supporters who now have to spin this recommendation letter as fair and acceptable practise. Imagine! You do not need a PhD to be president of Nigeria, but experience, capacity, capability and vision.
Anyway,GMB has more than school cert.He has complied fully with the laws of the land.I admire his calmness over this nonsensical hooey.A general that has attended the best degree awarding military institutions in the world(local and international),has enough education to lead Nigeria. He has done it before!!!!!!!
Section 31 of the Electoral Act and 318 of the constitution are very clear(The law is not interested in any certificate, but just an assurance that you are educated),an affidavit is sufficient ,according to the law:
ELECTORAL ACT 31. -(1) Every political party shall not later than 60 days before the date appointed for a general election under the provisions of this Act, submit to the Commission in the prescribed forms the list of the candidates the Party proposes to sponsor at the elections. (2) The list or information submitted by each candidate shall be accompanied by an Affidavit sworn to by the candidate at the High Court of a State, indicating that he has fulfilled all the constitutional requirements for election into that office. (3) The Commission shall, within 7 days of the receipt of the personal particulars of the candidate, publish same in the constituency where the candidate intends to contest the election. (4) Any person may apply to the Commission for a copy of nomination form, affidavit and any other document submitted by a candidate at an election and the Commission shall, upon payment of a prescribed fee, issue such person with a certified copy of document within 14 days‖. (5) Any person who has reasonable grounds to believe that any information given by a candidate in the affidavit or any document submitted by that candidate is false may file a suit at the High Court of a State or Federal High court…
CONSTITUTION SECTION 318
..."School Certificate or its equivalent" means
(a) a Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent, or Grade II Teacher’s Certificate, the City and Guilds Certificate; or (b) education up to Secondary School Certificate level; or (c) Primary Six School Leaving Certificate or its equivalent and - (i) service in the public or private sector in the Federation in any capacity acceptable to the Independent National Electoral Commission for a minimum of ten years, and (ii) attendance at courses and training in such institutions as may be acceptable to the Independent National Electoral Commission for periods totalling up to a minimum of one year, and (iii) the ability to read, write, understand and communicate in the English language to the satisfaction of the Independent National Electoral Commission, and (d) any other qualification acceptable by the Independent National Electoral Commission Let's cut the chase! What if Buhari's does not have school certificate? What if he joined the army through the backdoor? In any case, Buhari listed WASC as his qualification, he should tender the certificate! It is not enough to claim the certificates are with the military, he should state what effort he has made to get the certificate from the military and result of such effort! Affidavit does not cut it! |
Politics › Re: Certificate Saga: PDP Rejects Buhari's Explanation, Demands His Certificate by PointB: 12:24pm On Jan 20, 2015 |
The truth is that he was never qualified for entry into the Military Academy in the first place and consequently he should never have become a commissioned officer let alone a man that rose to the rank of General. At best he ought to have remained a non-commissioned officer. As long as he cannot produce that secondary school certificate, we believe that he is not qualified to run for the Presidency of Nigeria. This is a matter of law and not sentiment. The is hitting the nail on the head; the heart of the matter! Buhari is running foul of the law because he believe he has the backings of almajiris (like himself) who are ready to unleash mayhem should he be disqualified. It is best he honorably withdraws from the race, to allow those more eminently qualified to enjoy the fruit of their labour.
