Agreed.

When a problem is too big; dividing it into smaller component makes it easier. I am more than tired of Nigeria's one year experiment; much more than the party politics!

This is pedestrian, but I expected nothing less.

Sabotaging the long stretch of the nation's oil infrastructure is much more easier than Boko Haram's terrorism.

Those who seek to steal resources from owners best find ways to appease them. It's not by dismissive wave of hands.

And if Obasanjo did solve the creek militancy, I don't suppose Yar Adua would have initiated the amnesty program.

Prevention is better than cure!

The dynamics of Nigerian politics today is at total variance with what obtained in 2011. What most of us find truly disturbing was why they willingly made the region the preferred hub of rigging by the PDP. Everyone smelled the rat when results were being released from every other besides the SE and SS.

The fact we have Rochas and co even makes the whole charade all the more nauseating.

Ps: Away with all that sentimentality of calling Amaechi an "errand boy". Makes you sound too emotional, petty and unintelligent..
Hub of rigging?

So you think declaring 300k vote for PDP in Abia is rigging? Because id.oits smell a rat, that concludes there was rigging? Have you the compared the SE result with the previous election's result? If you haven't I suggest you take your hate mongering and foolish pettiness elsewhere.

And yes, Amaechi is an errand boy of APC, jump into a lagoon if it as much as pinches you!

If you are interested in Oil Wells, next year submit your bid for license. But please stop endangering innocent citizens of Nigerian of the Niger Delta origin with your Rusty Chest Beating.

Nigeria will remain peaceful. The only noise we will be hearing are those equipment at construction sites and factories erecting beautiful infrastructures and producing quality products to boost the economy.

The best of Nigeria is ahead.
My friend sharrap there. Who is endangering who?

Shouldn't the possibility of militancy be the concern of whoever is going to lead the country! Instead of openly discussing such possibility, you are wont to sweep it beneath the carpet. I thought you had a plan when you opened your stupid thread!

Pointless, if you like burn your creek. Nigeria has a reliable leader that will lead from the front.

The truth is that some of the jobless militants you are relying on will find out that militancy does not pay! Your time has expired!
Reliable indeed, a 74 year old man that is barely able to stand, let alone speak at his own campaign ground.

Anyway, I like to see how he tackles militancy in the creeks if and when it arises. Afterall, solving problem is what leaders are for, right?

Now we would have a real leader who leads from the front and not that useless "I don't know" buffoon.

Let any useless being from any region make any noise, he/she will know what it means that Nigeria has a true leader!
I hope they will send you to the creeks to fight. Cos I doubt if the one who leads from the front will lead his band of brigands to the creeks when push become a shove!

Every time Oil, Oil, Oil - PointB, how many oil wells do you have that Nairaland will not rest for you?
Oil wells in Nigeria are mostly owned by thieves and undeserving folks who got them through crooked means. I guess I'm not crooked enough to own one. Now what problem do you have with me mentioning oil, do you have any yourself and you fear sabotage?
PoliticsRe: What Igbos Should Do To Appease Buhari by PointB: 11:04am On Mar 31, 2015

I don't see Buhari personally punishing them, it would make learned Nigerians turn against him and make him appear too sentimental and petty. The real punishment would come from the "North". Any Igbo who desires to become the president of this country in the next 50 years should imagine how he can do so without as much as 10% votes from the North. That is the painful truth.
Igbos voted overwhelming for Yar' Adua and he's from North; Igbos have no problem with North, they chose Jonathan for strategic reason, and because they believe he's performed. And if Igbos are so hated by the "North" why are they hobnobbing with folks like Rochas, Ngige. And for your information, Ameachi the errand boy in the gang, is a self confessed Igbo man!

You speak of 50 years, even when you don't know what will happen in the next minute! Truth indeed!!

Nigerians and the next administration will carefully separate trouble makers from the larger innocent law-abiding citizens of Nigeria in the Niger Delta region. All the security agents need to do is pick them up, don't expect a blanket treatment.

And if you are not ready ready to pick up weapon yourself and enter the creek, then stop inciting innocent Nigerians just hoping for better livelihood for their daily bread.

The fact remain that we need Peace in Nigeria. It is good for everyone.

"Follow peace with all men, without which no one can see God" - Bible.
We need peace, not oil!

Surely there can be peace without a drop of Niger Delta oil. If resource owners refuse to share their oil, that shouldn't be a reason for violence. Sabotage is clearly different from terrorism and murder! Or...?

The results are coming in and as expected igbos are solidly behind Jonathan. But as it stands at the moment victory is leaning towards Buhari. If Buhari finally wins and gets into office I hope he wouldn't "punish" the southeast for not supporting him.

In order to prevent this "punishment" I suggest Ohaneze should go and start shopping online for about 1000 special foreign breed exotic fat cows to present to Buhari and appease him.

Igbos should remember the second Niger bridge and sea port are not there yet oh.
Fat cows?

I saw dogs and baboons, for his rituals. grin grin cheesy cheesy

Joke aside, I'm really proud to be an Igboman even as the vote count continue!

One thing is clear from this election irrespective of who wins is the bond between SS and SE is stronger than ever before. To my Igbo neighbors, I say big thank you for your support even when you guys know this decision will cost you guys a lot. That's one of many attributes of Igbos I admire....FEARLESS AND FIRM IN THEIR DECISION. SS now know who the real enemy of our progress is.
On behalf of other Igbo, I say you are welcome.

Igbos believe in justice and equity, even if it will cost us an arm and a leg. Being able to sleep peacefully at night is more important than any political power.

We only ask that SS remember to return the favour if and when we need it.

I am also sure that other ethnic groups, especially minority ones can see vividly, that you in Nigeria, you can never have a more reliable ally than the firmly principled diligent and enterprising people across the Niger - Igbos! We will stand by you when called upon, if your cause is just and fair!

Let it be on herald that we have for once been united and unanimous in our decision like the other tribes. We might not have achieved our desired victory, but we achieved the greatest victory of unity which from hence will be a way forward as a people.
Very well spoken my brother.

PoliticsRe: A Message To All Igbos By Lurther by PointB: 9:10am On Mar 31, 2015
One thing is sure about the igbos, criticize all you like, vilify all you like, hate all you like, we have never been at the centre since 1967 till date and we have been waxing strong.
Do we really need to be at the centre before we become industrious?
Do we really need to be at the centre before we realize the importance of education and human development? My joy is, why some people fight for power at the centre in every election without even realizing the importance of education, we don't care. We dont go begging on the roads because we are illiterates or non-industrious.

It is high time my igbo brothers hold their heads high and continue to seek and pursue their ideologies without fear like how other tribes do. Yes the odds may not favour us because of the structuring of the nation, but, we shouldn't be intimidated. Let us continue to work hard and be the educated and industrious people we are.
Kudos my brother, you have said it all. We said we would support GEJ, and we did to the end! That my brother is called being principled, and reliable as an ally!

The people you refer to are funny and very unprincipled.

If Igbos have voted for Buhari, be sure they will accuse Igbos of betraying GEJ, or perhaps call Igbo AGIP! Igbo have chosen a side - unification with our cousins in the deltas and creeks. On that note, we win!

Now let's leave these unprincipled flip-flopping lots and their masters to continue in their Igbo hate mongering, while we draw strength and determination from it.

Otherwise, it will be a great darkness upon the land! When forces of evil in the mold of Buhari, Tinubu-, Atifku ascend a hollowed throne, what greater evil can one imagine?

Very well said!

Whether Igbo voted for APC or not is largely immaterial, Buhari was rejected by Igbo and South South on principled grounds. There is nothing to regret about that, given another chance, we would repeat it.

I would certainly like to see how National Assembly position will be shared especially now that there is no Igbo APC rep in the Senatorial Zone, hopefully none too for the lower house. It sure would make an interesting permutation.

@op,

What did Ngige achieve for Ndi Igbo while he was in the National Assembly? Why should he be rewarded for non-performance. Ndi Igbo have chosen Okunife to represent their interest so be it. It is not entirely bad to be in opposition.

Had Abia State given us 600,000 just like Anambra State, I wouldn't have given up.

I calculated total votes for GEJ from Abia State and got something above. 300,000 while T.A. recorded 200,000+ for himself in one senatorial zone

I rather stand alone, even if it's a storm is coming. Some men don't just follow the bandwagon.

A Buhari spells nothing but doom; they whole thing is nothing but a coalition to steal from the Niger Delta other resource owners. A buhari win hopefully will run on groundnut oil and cotton!

I think this post is quite premature. I hope it's not driven by 'first to post' motivation.

Even at that, I believe strongly that a Buhari regime will spell disaster for the country, looking at the kind of person he is and those who surround him.
