backbencher: Good evening and good luck.
This is my last mention for you Tell me who is selling crude oil for N162? |
Politics › Re: Fuel Scarcity: Ibadan Residents Groan As Petrol Price Increases by poiZon: 5:04pm On Mar 01, 2022 |
backbencher: All because we bring in fuel at N282 and sell it at N162 per liter
And the n282 is not static . Rising oil prices means it can pass 300 naira or more. Meanwhile we sell the crude at 162.
And subsidy costs don't cover the resulting loss
So prices have to go up or it would become too costly to keep fuel at N162 per liter.
And yes, the money that could have been used for refineries goes to paying for that subsidy. That is part of why we don't have refineries You and who dey sell crude oil for N162? Shebi i tell u to stop commenting on anything fuel, cos u don't know anything in that sector. U r just like buhari pre2015 that talked rubbish and fools paid attention. |
Politics › Re: Russia-Ukraine: Nigeria To Pay More For Fuel Subsidy, Capital Projects Takes Hit by poiZon: 7:21pm On Feb 28, 2022 |
NaughtyBrainiac: This story is long for nothing.
It did not even explain how the current situation could lead to inflation in Nigeria.
I am not an expert but I have common sense.
Budget was prepared using 62 dollars as oil price. After paying for imported refined oil, we still made profit. Oil price is now almost becoming 2 times the price we used in preparing budget. ( please note that the increase in price doesn't have any significant increase in cost of exploring crude oil in Nigeria. The price increase here is Awuf)
How then will this lead to inflation? No matter how expensive it is to import refined oil, the significant increase in price of the crude one would take care of all costs and leave us with surplus gain.
Now to Subsidy. Subsidy in this case is just calling figures that don't practically exist. Just stupid theory.
They want Nigerians to pay for the price of oil based on the international price? And they misappropriate the mammoth surplus or what? There will never be any significant improvements in the lives of Nigerians because we won't feel the impact of the surplus. Things would only be worse because increase in pump rate as a way of catapulting inflation in Nigeria.
These people should stop telling us that increasing oil price is not good for us. They should please keep quiet. Lemme actually explain how things work. Will be elementary as posible. Crude oil price going up means refineries will pay more to get the crude. It also means the cost of refine products will increase. If crude oil is 30dolls per barrel n fuel price is 30dolls per gallon, gallon contains 5litres, then if crude oil climbs to 105dolls per barrel as at the case now, it means fuel will be 105dolls per gallon. Since we are importing 99percent of fuel, it will affect our earnings cos it will still be channel to importing fuel. Subsidy is the differentials paid by govt to bridge the cost gap and assist citizens get the product at a cheaper price. If u want to know whether subsidy exist or not, google the cost of fuel or Gas as it is called in US, convert it to naira and compare to what we sell or buy here. Why this is assuming you different dimension is that during GEJ era, daily fuel consumption was 30m litres but under buhari it climbs to 93m litres. It means that if fuel is sold at international mrket at 280naira per ltre, NNPC pays much to bring it and the fed govt pays more to subsidize it. The difference is 63m litres which might be the cost of fueling malami, atiku baGudu, buhari and others pocket. |

Brendaniel: The truth is even the federal Police is not structured properly based on Nigeria settings, the reason why there is high impunity from Police, intimidation and so on is because it is under the executive arm, all the security agencies aside from the military are supposed to be under the ministry for justice which the ministry is supposed to be headed by the supreme court separated from the office of the attorney general, as it stands all security agencies in Nigeria receive orders only from the president and reports only to the presidency which makes them witch hunt opponents at will, the FBI in America is under the justice department.
They know the power will be too much for the president to control all the security agencies directly including the military but in Nigeria all are under the executive... Like what happened in osun statr, where aregbesola took with him police from abuja to intimidate the state police. Is there anything we don't abuse in Nigeria? Even the military is being abused. Business men can order military to do some heinous jobs for them. Will we because of abuses and misuses of a particular property just decide not to acquire or purchase that property? Nigerians r so myopic, they use sentiments in concluding and putting lids to some issues. If we r to move forward, there r things we should do today so we won't be fighting over these things tomorrow. We need to devolve powers from the centre, we need state police domiciled under the ministry of justice, we need resource control, the court have delineate the office of Attorney General from the ministry of justice. So from next dispensation, we should have 2 different persons occupying these 2 offices. We should be progressing for goodness sake not trying to use sentiments to draw us back or stagnate the country because some state wont be able to tar their roads cause of the terrain. |

BluntTheApostle: Argue with this article:
The Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.)regime has kept its word by ensuring that modular refineries were not only given licences but also encouraged to begin production. The Federal Government has put in place an enabling environment for investors to open modular refineries in the country. Thirty five modular licences were issued in the past but nothing was done about it https://www.google.com/amp/s/punchng.com/buhari-and-modular-refineries/%3famp
I am not going to be drawn into any aimless arguments this hot Sunday afternoon. Enabling environment means security, finance and licence. Apart from licences, how much did buhari give them? Was it loan or grant? Atleast we know security is ZERO at the moment.. |

Please, Buhari is the best president we have had since 1999.
He had to contend with some bad lucks, but he has shown to be a more considerate leader.
If the likes of Obasanjo and GEJ had done their jobs, we wouldn't be in the mess we are in today.
An oil-rich country that imports petroleum products.
Shame!!! The likes of gej and obasanjo did their jobs at their time, atleast the 4 refineries were producing something. They did something by giving out more than 80 licences to modular refineries operators. If u don't understand how govt operates, ask someone who is intelligent in ur community so u won't come and embarrass ur family on social media. |
