Politics › Re: Top 10 Forbes Most Powerful And Dangerous Politicians In Nigeria by PoliteActivist: 1:49pm On May 12, 2023 |
thesicilian: Tinubu is by far the most powerful and influential. His influence, which contrary to popular opinion runs much deeper than the southwest, is even more remarkable in the sense that he has never been in any office at the national level unlike the likes of most others on the list. Obi and Wike are mostly popular (?powerful ) in their regions Buhari is the most powerful at the moment. Obi is the most popular, especially with the educated, regardless of region. Tinubu is the most polarizing - those who love him do so fanatically; those who despise him truly despise him. After inauguration he'd of course be the most powerful. Atiku and Tinubu are the most corrupt. The rest don't have any particularly distinguishing factors about them! |

I honestly want to believe you, i really do but my experience and the reinforcements of hates from both tribes against each other have proved otherwise. The perception on social media is a mirror of the underlying society. That's social media. In real life people are not like that. There are things that bind people beyond tribe |

Skyview01: Nairaland has shown me that we as Nigerians are not one and may sadly, never be.
It has made me realize that TRIBALISM is real and we may have a replay of Hotel Rwanda in Nigeria at some point in the future. You have it all wrong by far!! Those people are NOT like that in real life. It is like road rage - people are only like that while driving. Same way, the nonsense those people write, lying in bed in their pajamas, is NOT how they are in real life! |

OAkanni001: That was why I said the problem lies in the government and the governed. The government in terms of corruption and the governed in terms of been used as political tools in addition to our belief system. Just like what you expressed in your comment It is more than "government and governed". The ENTIRE SYSTEM and PEOPLE within it have to be changed. Which of course means getting rid of the country and starting a new country with new people. Which, of course, is impossible - which is why I concluded the country will never improve much |

OAkanni001: I saw a news about some Anambra female innovators and I offered my two cents which i felt ought to be a post on it own. Here it is for your reading pleasure: You forget the biggest impediment in Nigeria: CORRUPTION!!!! Here's how it works: Besides public monies disappearung into private pockets, any improvement will be impeded by entrenched people who benefit from the status quo. And it permeates ALL aspects of life in the country, from electricity to police to justice system, medical, schools, ALL aspects of life Looking at all that, my sincere assessment is: NIGERIA WILL NEVER IMPROVE MUCH. NEVER!! |

G00DHardDick: Damn!
Sane Nigerians knows this already. However, in a sane society where the judicial system works, the election tribunal will deliver judgement on or before may 29 to ascertain the true winner of Feb 25 elections. From all indications, it is obvious Peter obi won the election and as such Nigerians expect the election tribunal to do the needful and restore Obi's stolen mandate. Damn! Imagine how sane Nigeria will be with obi at the helm of affairs. Obi definitely won in a big landslide AMONG THE ELITE AND EDUCATED. That's the only thing I'm sure about! |

Krublog: Lol!!!
When I read that report, you were the first person that crossed my mind.
Skirmishes here and there, but on the whole Abuja is safe.
Try Kubwa. Abaji generally is a notorious place cos of its proximity to I think Kogi or so.
It's closer to a state than to the city center.
Nigeria as a whole is a security mess my brother. Honestly, too many such reports from Abj, unlike Lagos. Maybe it's just a bit too close to BH. Doesn't it scare you even a little? |
