So there is no way the law affects them, instead it protects them.

There is no ban on anyone legally in Canada from buying property.

The ban is on foreign investors who do not live or work or play in Canada but buy properties as INVESTMENT so they can rent out to people.

This creates supply shortages for people that want to own homes in Canada. People that actually live or work in Canada.

An example is Core Development Group that has set aside $1bn to buy single family homes and rent to people.

That’s about 1000 houses

25% of houses sold in the US in 2021/2022 were bought by investment companies. Not individuals looking for where to call home.
