It is the TRUTH. A typical Nigerian who suddenly comes into $40k will NEVER quietly work hard with it, knowing it is not that big. They'd instead immediately become "big boy" till they go broke!
fkj950ax: People living outside Nigeria do so for many reasons and not because of money only. Better lifestyle. Stability. Free education for children. Access to quality passport or citizenship that provides greater opportunity in future. And $40k is not a big deal in the US. That’s what you can earn in 6-8mths.
$40k converted to NGN only makes you appear privileged, but you will still endure the generators and area boys and bad roads and insecurity and substandard lifestyle and over priced lousy education and so many other nonsense.
Not only that, for MOST Nigerians that $40k will quickly disappear into show off, big funerals/marriages, "enjoyment", etc, and they'd be quickly back exactly where they were!
The truth is, for most Nigerians, that $40k will quickly disappear into show off and enjoyment and big funerals/marriages, and they'd be quickly back exactly where they were!
IreneJane: As home guy , $40k to stay naija for now will be ok . The money will invested in my business and I don't need to knacking here and there looking for documents for PR. I can be going a week conference, 2 weeks holiday when my business boom. Abroad no easy bro , except there is a secure job waiting for me there.
Of course, if you are a solid frugal guy with solid plans. But for most people, that $40k will quickly disappear in show off and enjoyment
Ekpekus: Shey you know say even the desert (Libya) route people use in entering Europe, they pay alot of money and still aduro nor sure when dem eneter Europe. Guy you need do more research on this things.
How many still do it. How many have to be rescued and brought home. These US own been going on for decades and no one ever begs to return home. Infact if deported their sole life's mission would be how to return
Ekpekus: How can you get all these without SSN? And who told you they don't go for hearing? And how can you legalize when your finger print gives you away as aduro. Infact, now I understand you have no clue what it means to secure asylum.
ayoncox: One of my testimonies to people who feel I want to scam them during conversation when I need them to accept my bid is I turned down a 10 digits funding all because I was not sure of it source when I was doing all my best to get funding for a real estate project I believe so much in
Don't know about that. If you trace the sources of all monies you receive, you won't accept lots of money
drakeli: $10k to leave U.S of America? Guy, you don’t know what you’re talking about. I don’t see anyone that would leave the US for $10k even if he’s here in the US cleaning public toilet to earn a living
There are Nigerians in US - homeless, mentally ill, fugitives from the law, too much debt, simply tired - who'd happily accept a fresh start in Nigeria
Ekpekus: Obviously you have no idea how it work. They accommodate the asylum seekers and care for them until there is a hearing of their case regarding the asylum. If the judge is not convinced by your story, they reject you straight.
LOL! Hahaha You have no clue. Most of those guys will never go for any asylum hearing. They can get licenses and work like anybody else and they'll be eventually legalized in other ways
I notice that about life - it is while you are doing something that you find out there are ways. But if you stay and try to have it all worked out before you start, most times you'll never start
tunapawizzy: People need to live it to be able to take a position on this abroad/going back home issue...so much ignorant talk especially about tax and bills
It's in living it that you find there are "ways". You can avoid most things people complain about or you'll find it's not as bad as they claim
ayoncox: I don't need $40k for the traveling I just need it to initiate my land banking and real estate idea then I travel 2-3 months to rest and get funding from overseas. I already have contacts.
Your case is different. There are people who have SOLID ways to turn $40k into a million. The vast majority are not like that. That $40k will quickly disappear
kodred: People that knew what they were doing back then are still stuck till this day. They would gladly return as they also thought once they get there everything would be set only to be heavily disappointed.
If you go to the RIGHT PLACE. Avoid crime, live inexpensive, you'd quickly amas a lot of money guaranteed - while enjoying a good environment. See video I posted above
Ashirioluwa: You are right but asylum is not 100% guaranteed as you claimed especially if you are from Naija…… Ask aunty Kemi Olunloyo. She claimed asylum in Canada
You can go ANYWHERE. There are sanctuary cities where you can get licenses and work just like anybody though you are "illegal" There's a reason Olunloyo is O-LUNATIC-loyo
afbstrategies: How can I relocate to Nigeria when I make 100k yearly. Are you really kidding me right now?
Here are other things I have considered:
It takes about 3 minutes or less for emergency response by fire department or Police I have never experienced power failure in almost 2 decades. There are food banks in most places for families who are struggling I have not gotten less than 5k Usd in tax refunds from the government.
I can go on and on but I have to go to work, pushing 16 hours straight overtime
tunapawizzy: $40k? Is that enough to pay ransom?......at 700Naira...that is 30million Naira...can that even buy land in an area where u can charge 1m/year for a 3 bedroom flat...abi na $400k u wan talk? Depending on your situation abroad, taking even $10k to go back home may be a life-saver BUT I think if your stay in say US is not illegal, and there's no imminent risk of falling out of status, most people won't take the 40k offer
Even if illegal, go to a sanctuary city and you are as good as legal
Ekpekus: And when you are denied asylum, what next? Or you think say na every aduro dey pure?
Some places will NEVER deny you asylum because they need you. It is just a formality. In fact in some places they'd issue you driver's license and put you on the tax roll while you are still "illegal"
kodred: Bro even people that are legally residing in Canada/Us/Uk would gladly jump on the 40k usd and return to Nigeria.
I did say SOME would come home if offered $10k or even less. People are in all sorts of situations. That's different from someone comming in with a clean slate who knows what he is doing
