Emola12: Today sack tomorrow appointment next tomorrow 1dollar will be 1200 uper next tomorrow new SUV for nass by next week uk submit and some people are still following this man hmmm i pity nnah generation
Say what you will, you have to admit the man is LUCKY!!! To have never spent a day in jail despite being a known criminal, and not only that, end up PRESIDENT OF NIGERIA!!! Let's hope his luck rubs off on the country
wizi4tyn: This is just funny to read shaaa. Even as a young person and unmarried, 500k isn’t a big amount. Yes I know it’s not common, but it’s not a huge amount of money.
How much is rent sef? Cos of living no be beans for NAIJA. That 500k isn’t so big. That just about the pay for beginning intermediate level range in quite a number of IT places in Lagos. Don’t know about other states.
Canada is easily the choice here
If you've followed the thread you'd know the 500K is probationary and quickly doubles. But I counterbalance that with the fact I already have my plane ticket, Canadian dreams, and itchy feet! What are your thoughts on these below
Resurgent2016: thread carefully , so you don;t join the league of "abroad is harder than Nigeria".
A visitor visa is likely not easy to use to secure a job abroad.
That TRV wasn't easy to get o. I know the resources and emotional energy it took. So it's not something I can easily walk away from - especially as I already bought the ticket!
YourGFsnatcher: I will not advise you to go to Canada. We just finished a webinar on relocation, ALL the participants from Canada are regretting ever going there especially at this moment. Canada was good, but they are undergoing a serious economic crisis, housing has sky rocketed. You need at least three jobs to stay put. On average salary u will spent almost 70% of it on rent. You need other jobs to take care of other bills. Something terrible is currently happening there. But if you want to relocate you can check other countries that are still okay, that are not undergoing any economy crisis. Cos it won't be good to go with your small change and have to spend it all without even fully settling. I will advice you take that job. Your life is set already. You can go to any country for vacation u like with that salary and you will live large in Nigeria. Before you can live large in Canada it ll tale years or the mighty grace of God... u ll only be working hard to keep up with the bills. If you have a car, car insurance alone is 500 dollars monthly. That's almost a small car in Nigeria. This means Before u finish paying your bills, buy a car and pay for everything to drive a car in Canada will not be Bean's. But in Nigeria all these are already made for you.
Thanks a lot for your very candid and erudite advice. Same advice I've gotten severally from people in the know. Though the 500K is only probationary and will quickly double, I already have my ticket and ideas in my head predicated on Cana. That and extremely itchy feet!
lanresz: Unfortunately, Canada is not US. Nothing like hustle without proper document. Again visiting visa is not a relocation visa. If you spend the 6 months in Canada at once, you better have detailed explanation on what you were doing in Canada when you want to re-enter. Your 10 years visa may be canceled at the time of entry. Does Canada give visa beyond the validity of once passport? How come you got 10 years visa?
You are right - it is 10 years or till expiration of passport, whichever comes first. Thanks for your candid advice. So many things to put into consideration. If only I weren't already emotionally invested in Canada and already have my plane ticket. It is a real dilemma - especially considering I already have a fairly good life here, then add to it a potential 1.5m+ a month. Not an easy choice at all
Before before my plan was to secure a visit visa but after reviewing all these on ur thread, bro a don calm down jare
I tell you my bros, there's something that sours people there about the place. Don't know what it is. All we here see is dollar!😆
As for me, I know I haven't invested all these resources, and emtional energy, blood, sweat, and tears, to have it go just like that. But I also know I don't want to go from a fairly good life I have here to a "hustle", cold, possibly lonesome one. But I also know Nigeria has problems and Tinubu is not helping matters. But I also know I'm not willing to let a potentially 1.5m+ dream job go just like that. But I also know I already have ideas and dreams about Canada. But I also know cold gives me headache and catarrh. But I also know I love travel and adventure. But I also know a bird in the hand...
Omoawoke2: Lol, I’ve never bought a ticket without making it flexible.
Me whey dey change flight date like anything.
Meaning? I bought my ticket online through CheapoAir and the fees and everything about changing the date amounts to too much and I'm quite unwilling to lose so much of my hard earned money instead of just using it
I will make sure I lodge for PR instead of one nonsense visiting visa, if my PR is secured then I will move, if not I will continue with my hustling here. I can't jeopardise my potentials here for an uncertainty...never
Quite different when you already have the plane ticket and head saturated with Canadian ideas
Omoawoke2: If your ticket is flexible, you can always move it
It is not. I had option to buy insurance to make it so but I did not as I saw it as waste of money - couldn't envision any scenario whereby I didn't travel
Eriokanmi: I know of the TRV and validity. You just pray about it for God's direction. Cos at times, what looks juicy in man's eyes may not be an ultimate thing. All the best!
EXACTLY! It truly looks very juicy to me from here but those over there keep throwing cold water. I wish I can find out what it is exactly that sour them. Or maybe they just pretending
micxwell: Things are complicated right now but not as bad as not being able to get by with 1million naira.
Though to be honest, depends on lifestyle. I'll quickly be earning 1m if I stay, but I'll have a cook and driver and other obligations from societal expectations
virginchaser: If i where you i will collect the job, spend three months, have meeting with the management to allow me work remotely for three months. You may end up doing half year in both countries.
Not possible with this particular job, also I honestly want to leave now - village people and all
alphabbey1: Get a G licence in Nigeria, you will use it to enter truck training school in Canada. Tuition fee for the truck training school is just about 5,000 dollars... After the certificate, I will not give you 100% assurance but I can assure you that you are in a better position of securing a Truck driving Job faster with your visiting visa....
Please forget about using visiting visa to get a tech Job in Canada, reason is, there are thousands of citizen, PR, Work permit holders that can fill up any tech openings....
And you call $5K "just", I don't even have up to that in my account right now😁
Dammiesugar: If you’re coming into Canada with visitor’s visa, my dear abort mission straight or else you will regret it and go back to Naija empty handed.
I've been constantly advised this by people who have actually done it. What I'm not sure they put into consideration is that I already have my ticket and the ground is burning under my feet!
tensazangetsu20: To think a lot of people would compare the babangida regime as heaven to the satanic agbado one
Nigerians hope, really HOPE, BAT brings us good luck. We've suffered long enough. Anybody who can get away with all he got away with, without spending a day in jail, and not only that, end up PRESIDENT OF NIGERIA (something that truly genius ambitious people aim for all their lives and never get), has to be extremely lucky indeed!! We hope some of that luck rub off on us!
Intrepid01: The first May gullible one here is you, just read what you wrote up there, it is probationary, and quickly goes to 1M and then 1.5M….just continue to lie to your fellow kids here. No be only quickly na fast fast, shebi na so salary dey rise😀😃
It's people like you that have this country in the state it is. Just because you lie and cheat everyday, you think everybody is a liar and a cheater. And of course you gravitate towards falshood because you are a false by nature. Well, get into your head, there are people that actually tell things as they are, no more, no less. Now run along, face your slave job and corrupt life and stop putting mouth into things you know nothing about!
