Taal17: The OP never said it was a status car, he just said the job came with a car.
Besides even if it is a status car ...just because you never seen it doesn't mean he's exaggerating. It maybe uncommon does not mean it's doesn't exist.
Thank you very much. Couldn't have said it better. But it is a status car - assuming we mean same thing by that. Just ignore the guy henceforth
elbulk: If you have enough money to sustain you for a good period of time then go for it. Even if you get a job in good time it's best to have money to sustain you for 6 months to 1 year just in case
To be honest, if I leave now I'd enter Canada with about $500 US. What you think?
otunbadan: Canada that has a system you can tell you self … “I want to achieve this or that “ and push for it … you won’t have to deal with bad economic instability or Nepa or traffic or police harassment … no worry, people are just consoling themselves … but to go the Canada still no easy for common man o
😆 Well, if you want to look at it that way, Tinubu also told himself “I want to achieve this" and he ended up achieving it, despite being a known criminal - and he wasn't in Cana! If he had stayed in Chicago he'd very likely be sitting in maximum security as we speak!
Separate yourself, plug out ALL distractions and ssit down to reflect for ONE day. No social media, nairaland, Instagram, WhatsApp No internet sef. If you're a praying man pls pray ask God to shine light on WHY you feel this way.
Reflect Use 5 whys ( basically interrogate yourself with each answer) nd write it down. When you're done assess whether your final answer has any merit
Thank you very much for very good advice and a very practical method of making decisions. But in this case I think the heart will win over - it's probably going to be Cana, the way I feel right now
Taal17: It's not new, very possible I got a car..there are managerial cars and there are functional cars. Managerial was because of your position, functional was because of your job function required a car. This is very different from pool cars that had a driver. I could use the car at weekend and my personal time. Got a stipend for fuel however repairs were done by the office. However they will not use company money to replace anything broken or spoilt outside work hours
No mind the Intrepid01 guy. A salary that is probationary and quickly skyrockets is what he is obsessed with. Keep yapping about what he knows nothing about
Well, NL is NOT real life😂 Women are the talkers and gossips of life, not men. Men are usually about action and solving problems. That's the truth and you know it🤣😂
Little21: Actually are no difference. They rarely say it to their face, but comes here too say it behind their backs. Doesn't the men here live in real life?
Persephone1: Like I'm tired! Chochochocho everytime yet 1dollar = 1075 naira nothing is done or said about it nah women them go dey advise up and down.
At bolded I've always suspected this, I guess you are right.
Notice we are on romance section - made up mostly of people of a certain age. Well, "men" and "women" include all ages. Woman are by far the ones obsessed with relationship and social gossip, not men!
alyarmouk: My brother. Getting a slavery job there is better than my present stay here, trust me. Waking up to nothing n sleeping to nothing at this youthful stage of my life. I'd definitely consider any route so long it takes me out of here where I can work n earn.
So why not go the asylum route. But you can also get soul-killing slavery job right here in Nigeria if you wanted. That you are in Canada or any place doesn't make a soul-killing slavery job less so. I'm sure these people below were also yearning for slavery jobs
Little21: But why is it that men nowadays don't think about anything more than women issues?
Actually this is only on NL and forums like it. In real life men rarely talk about women while women gossip about men, family, and relationships all day long
Amumaigwe: Believe what an evening newspaper says about marriage at your own risk.
Has nothing to do with belief, it is common sense. Nothing is more important in life than life itself. Appreciate the fact you have life and live and enjoy yours the best you can. And don't let any man-made artificial imposition of fruit prevent you from doing just that. In 100 years nobody on this forum will be remembered and even those that are, what good is it to them - they'd be dead! And BTW nobody is "evening newsoaper". Pure nonsense.. People find their ideal partner at any point in life, while for some there is no such thing. Let people breathe!
Luther0luther: Oga, don't insult yourself . First off, his 500k salary will never remain static. Secondly, it's somebody like you that I can perceive does not have passport and can not command 500k salary! Oga sit this one out! You think it's by converting naira to dollars? Don't you know there are people in America and Canada to whom $480 is like their entire net worth? Do you know how many natives of these are homeless and penniless?
it's not everybody that chooses to remain in naija that is unfortunate. Some of us have actually stayed abroad and realized that it's not all beds and roses, then decided to grind it out in Nigeria.
I have people in the diaspora who are only there not because of financial or economic reasons, but they traveled because of herd mentality and they're regretting it today, knowing that they were better off in Nigeria. It's only people like that that can relate.
You are actually quite right in many ways. The 500K salary is actually only probationary, quickly doubles even triples. Also I have a relative in Italy (I hope he is still alive) whom no one has heard from again. Still, I'm seriously leaning towards traveling now. Whatever I ultimately do, I'll post on this thread, with photos.
Eriokanmi: 07034591079. Call him and ask him to help shed lights on the matter. He won't ask you to come see him or buy any anointing oil or ask for money. Only prayers. I've introduced him to lots of people here and they've all testified to God's goodness with their problems totally solved. He will pray on it and anyone God approves, just go for it. Take care.
Thank you so much. Really touched you went to the trouble obtaining a number for me, but in my experience and observation of life, when it comes to Nigeria, most such things are scams at bottom, one way or another, and I'd rather stay away from them
babajero: unfortunately Muslims don't believe in jaw jaw they only know war war.
You mean terrorist Muslims. After all it's through jaw jaw that US and Saudi connived whereby oil can only be bought in dollar, effectively making dollar the world currency!
OP you talk as if the most important thing in the world is selling fruit. What good is selling the fruit when you are not happy. What's important is your feeling happy and fulfilled, not selling fruit. Live your life the best you can wether fruit is sold or not. Don't get into an unhappy situation or situation of regret just to sell fruit! And don't be tricked into letting your happiness hinge on selling fruit, which is a totally man-made expectation. Selling fruit is ok, but always remember, you can live a happy, fulfilled life without selling fruit, much happier than many who sold fruit! This 61 year old woman below has a happy, fulfilled, and productive life! Not everyone is meant to be selling fruit!
MeineMutter: Just joking 🙃 It could be this old Honda City pool-car put in his care to make the OP feel important and stay longer in the company.
Let him go on a visit like two or 3 times. He would have experienced it than imagined it. Then he can decide.
Don't get it twisted😁. Don't let the 500K fool you - it is only probationary and is to quickly double, even triple. Good advice but I'm really leaning towards splitting then making my way into the great US of A!
MeineMutter: Then go for a visit and return to your work later in Nigeria.
You may be able to deduce whether you would like to live there or not.
Since it’s a 10-year multiple entry visa, you can plan your relocation well after several visits to Canada because you have would have had some first-hand Indians experiences.
You have got nothing to loose on both sides , as of now.
Actually it is 10 years OR expiration of passport whichever comes first. My passport expires in 8 years. Thanks for your sincere advice but I'm seriously leaning towards traveling now - b4 village people...😆
justmondris: Well just pray about it and make your decision and be ready to man up and take the responsibility if it didn't go as planned.
The quiet inner voice tells me to calm down and take a little time to get things right before traveling. But that's not what I myself want to do. I want to start experiencing Canada now!
Taal17: I'm not sure what your dilemma is really. You have a job offer in Nigeria and you wanna hope on crystal ball for Canada All you have is Canadian visit visa..it means nothing. Doesn't give a job, No access to housing, No benefits Nada You can't convert VV to work permits ( and please ignore any info that you can use LMIA yada yada biko).
Tech connections and so what? You're not going there with resident permit so how does that help. You know you can work remote with tech regardless of your location
What hustle? Do you know where you're going. It's Canada..which yeye hustle?
If you wanna visit Canada you can go whenever the heck you want.
You're not sure what my dilemma is? I have a potential 1.5m+ dream job offer balanced against my ticket and the resources, dreams, and emotions I have invested in Canada, and you don't know what my dilemma is?? Thanks for your sincere advice anyway
alyarmouk: Ook. I quite understand you now. Sorry, one chance will never locate you(I take it back). It's just that, our country isn't countrying the way a country should country. If you have a better life here..then you're good to stay. Cuz most people out there hustling abroad is for a better life here upon retirement. So, you're a step ahead. As for me. If I see a slavery job abroad, I'm gone!
Amen! One chance will never be our portion. If you see a slavery job you're gone? Be careful what you wish for. See my post above. What do you think of that asylum method? Maybe u could consider it?
Kenn55: He is been advised not to go to Canada and instead take the job because he has a visit visa not cos of the reasons you stated above. The exaggerated reasons you stated above is not enough not to go if he had a PR and has factored in the big picture.
This is actually true. That's what all in the know want to know - do I have a PR. Once I say no, they become discouraging. What do you think of this method below. How feasible?
