Neoteny:
So demanding for freedom of the Palestinians from the oppression of Israel, a humanitarian issue, is now an Islamic agenda?

Wow you Nigerian christians are so bigoted you live in irrational fear of Islam.

Your myopia is only harming you and narrowing your worldview.

You're talking about confusion, but you yourself seemed confused by your own point.

On one hand you maintain Nigeria is a secular country, on the other hand you append some religious symbolism to moving our embassy to Jerusalem.

I guess your confusion is a reflection of the present state of Nigerian Christianity: confused, confounded, and bewildered.
You can read, no doubt about that.

It's difficult to say the same about your comprehension abilities though.

Maybe you should find someone to interpret to you in the language you understand.

You are more confused with this your last post than earlier assumed.

So...Mr Humanitarian... tell us again...

Buhari's call for Jerusalem to be the capital of a proposed Palestinian state is freedom fighting for the oppressed.

But CAN's call for Nigeria's government to move its embassy to the capital of a country where it has a diplomatic presence is bigotry.

Very confusing.

The president of a secular country broke a historic policy of his country's secularism and non-align agreements to declare his preferences based on his religion and he is a freedom fighter with a Nobel nomination but the Christian community in his country expressed their own preference in the spirit of a broken/canceled policy and they are suddenly bigots. See logic.

That must be a serious 'humanitarian' logic.

A simple Google search will reveal the symbolism of Jerusalem to Christianity to you.

Majority of the world Christians support Jerusalem. The American pastor who preached on the day of US embassy opening had denounced Jews severely.

If you continue to whine about CAN or Nigerian Christians' issues you are setting yourself up for serious health complications; something like high blood pressure.

We won't be conquered.

Neoteny:
You're hyperventilating over a trivial issue that's more of frivolity than any matter of import.

1. CAN is just doing a me-too because the US did it.

2. There's no religious, cultural, diplomatic, or political benefit to moving the embassy to Jerusalem. If it serves no religious purpose, why then is CAN advocating for it?

3. Is CAN trying to christianize Nigeria, as it's quick to call anything done with even the remotest link to Islam as islamization?

4. Didn't the same CAN bark at various times that Nigeria is a secular country?

This is just much ado about nothing.

Just religious busybodies with nothing to do but rile the masses.
Your rigmarole has finally landed you in a conclusion that the matter is trivial.

With one side of your mouth or finger you said CAN is doing Me-too or whatever you call it and from the other side you are asking whether CAN is trying to Christianize Nigeria even while mainntaining in your posts that Israel is not a Christian country.

It's hard getting the head and tail of your argument.

Nevertheless, CAN has maintained and still maintains that Nigeria is not an Islamic country. Nigeria will never be an Islamic country.

Religion is a sensitive issue in Nigeria. Successive governments have tried to walk a tight rope and have carefully managed it. Each administration had had its own share of one religious crisis or another.

But you can see how Buhari's actions since he assumed office have been promoting Islamic projects without care instead of maintaining Nigeria's multi-religious/secular identity.

He went to the mideast to pledge Nigeria into a coalition of Islamic country's against terrorism without regard to the sensitivity of the issue. And with one boring explanation about Boko Haram or no Boko Haram he waved it aside.

For decades, Nigeria's foreign policy thrust has centered on Africa primarily and on non-align agreements. Nigeria is a prominent member of Non-align nations because of our diversity in religion, culture , opinion etc.

We are not supposed to take side in certain debate in order to majntain our neutrality on many world divisive issues. But Buhari has been carrying out as if we are an extension of Saudi Arabia.
l
On the issue of Jerusalem, Buhari promised Nigeria's total support for his Palestinian brothers' to have their own country with Jerusalem as the capital. Something he said in his capacity as Nigeria president while Nigeria is supposed to take a neutral stand. Who are his brothers? Are Fulanis related to Palestinians in any way? Didn't he say that because of Islam affinity?

Now, in the circumstances, are you saying the Christian community in Nigeria should just sit down and be looking like dummies so that you won't call us Zionists or me-too?

We are not conquered. We won't be. If Nigeria has jettisoned its time tested policies that have ensured relative/fragile paece by the actions of Buhari then you shouldn't unnecessarily get yourself worked up by CAN's opposite and equal reactions.

Do you deny CAN's seeming affinity with modern Israel?

Embassies are symbols of modern diplomacy between governments.

The Israeli government is a Zionist one, not a christian one. So your symbolism is misplaced in the context of modern politics.
Why? Do you want CAN's affinity with ancient Siberia or Argentina?

You are within your rights to hold any opinion about Zionist or modern politics or whatever.

The discussion is about CAN's call for Nigeria's government to move its embassy in Israel to Israel's capital Jerusalem just like the US government has done.

And CAN is within its constitutional right to so demand based on its interpretation of Jerusalem's significance in the Christians' Bible.

All your Zionists theory is not important to the discussion.

By the way, the center of modern global politics is in the US - Washington DC and New York.

That's your opinion, sir.

No one choses a capital city for a country.

No one has that right.

It is the decision of individual country to decide which city it makes its capital.

Murtala Mohammed and Olusegun Obasanjo with Justice Akinola Aguda planned Abuja as the capital city of Nigeria. Ibrahim Babangida did the actual move.

Many people were not happy about the move then.

Many people are still not happy but there's nothing they can do about it.

PoliticsRe: Only Joint Opposition Coalition Can Defeat Buhari - ThisDay's Adeniyi by porka: 9:31pm On May 18, 2018
Olusegun Adeniyi is one of the Buhari worshippers who would do anything for his god to stay in office.

He is merely trying to 'win' election for his god by demoralizing voters to make them feel as if Buhari's election is a fait accompli.

By 2012, Buhari had not recovered from the destabilization due to his massive defeat at the poll the previous year. As at 2012, Buhari was still crying on account of his loss.

His 'promise' to never contest any election ever again was still fresh. It wasn't until much later that his rehabilitation started; spearheaded by those who wanted to take advantage of his extreme lack of ideas to push their own interests.

It is a shame that Adeniyi is allowing himself to be used against the masses of Nigeria like he was used in the disgraceful Yaradua's health saga. He thought then that loyalty must always be to the 'their leader' instead of the masses.

Shame.

Watch out for his kind, folks. They are many. Pseudo intellectuals using their media bully pupits to control people's thoughts. It doesn't matter to them that Buhari has been tested and has been adjudged a grand failure both at home and abroad.

It doesn't matter how many Christians are killed by terrorists and Buhari's response would be an appeal to the victims to go and 'live peacefully' with people who swore that the killings wont stop until they have their way. The number of people who commit suicide across the country daily because of Buhari heartlless governance is not in his analysis. How Buhari destroyed millions of jobs due to his 9th century economic programmes is not in reckoning. The disillusioned youths being pummeled by Buhari at every opportunity don't matter to Olusegun Adeniyi.

It matters nothing to Adeniyi and his Buhari worship gang that Nigerians' last hope out of poverty and squalor that Buhari has thrown them in the last three years is the opportunity to throw him out of office through the ballot next year.

You won't even read anything connected to the underage voting and PVC problems which INEC is struggling with. He has already even declared INEC a success before the first presidential election form is sold.

He doesn't even want factor INEC's timetable for party activities and selection processes. The timetable from INEC ensures that Kayode Fayemi did not emerge as governorship candidate until two weeks ago, just two months to the July 14 election in Ekiti for example.

Alll he wants to say or what he has been asked to pass around js that no one can defeat Buhari; the kind of omnipotent features that Ademiyi thought Yaradua possessed. This is the same belief Buhari himself and his supporters have. In fact, he believes he has never lost any election but been rigged out.

That is the dangerous poison Adeniyi is passing around. Because by the time Buhari is massively defeated next year, his worshippers would not agree that he lost squarely. A repeat of 2011 can best be imagined.

Deji7474:
However there is a tweak to it:

Under the subsidy regime of the Jonathan government, oil marketers were paid bogus amounts of monies to cover for their expenses to supply the country fuel and maintain the price at an affordable amount - this led to the enriching of a few and impoverishing of the country, as most of the oil marketers did not even make any deliveries to Nigeria but were paid billions of Naira. Some others took crude oil to Ghana and Benin Republic but where paid as well.

Under the new system which operates under the Buhari’s government, oil marketers do not receive money from government. Instead, NNPC bears the cost of the differential and takes the hit on their own balances by ensuring that the price of petrol remains at N145 regardless of the fact that the landing cost has increased in such a way to make the 145 unprofitable.

In this new arrangement - which is called UNDER-RECOVERY - the Nigerian consumers benefit and not the marketers. If this is not done, the price of fuel would shoot up and the President has said he would never allow that happen.

What the government is doing to put an end to this regime, which is in itself a short term solution - is to fix our refineries including encouraging private sector involvement.

Chief Financial Officer of NNPC, Mr. Isiaka AbdulRazaq, who traced the advent of the subsidy regime to October, 2003 when NNPC was directed by government to commence the purchase of domestic crude oil at international market price without a corresponding liberalization of the regulated price of petroleum products noted that the subsidy regime has changed.

He explained that under the Jonathan subsidy regime, NNPC and other suppliers of refined petroleum products were entitled to file subsidy claims to the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA).

Mr. AbdulRasaq, however, noted that unlike oil marketers, under the under-recovery regime NNPC did not receive cash payment for subsidy claims as its claims were deducted out of cost payment to the Federation Account after due certification by PPPRA.
We would know everything when Buhari leaves.

Don't be in a hurry.

Whether it's under-recovery or over-recovery or middle-recovery everything recovered would one day be made open to all.

What we know now is that the amount of subsidy paid to make fuel sell at N87 per litre was far lesser than the amount being paid to make fuel sell for N145 per litre.

Also note that the law says that NNPC must remit all revenue to the Federation Account.

Is it Christians that asked Buhari to tell Benue people to go and live peacefully with their fellow human beings when they are being killed?

Is it Christians that instructed Miyeti Allah Cattle Breeders to tell the whole world that there would not be peace unless the anti open grazing law is reversed?

Is it the divisive Christians that mandated the Inspector General of Police to declare the massacre of Christians as a communal clash?

Whatever you do in your paid duty to defend your bosses, always remember that God is a consuming fire.

It was your type who deceived the Christians in the north that once they voted for Buhari the killings would stop, but the killers have developed extreme confidence now more than ever before.

Even with the allegations that killings happened under past Christian presidents, suspected killers then were apprehended and charged to courts for judicial pronouncements. Several hundreds were arrested by the law enforcement agents and remanded in prison custody.

As you write your epistle, did you ask yourselves how many suspects in these killings under Buhari have been arrested and being prosecuted?

Instead of that, the suspected killers arrested under the past governments who are facing trials in courts have been pardoned and released in their hundreds. Among whom are extremely violent individuals suspected of being behind the attacks you listed in your epistle.

It is better to fear God. For God is a consuming fire.

Nothing tells you that posting Osinbajo's political statements in a religious gathering won't improve the battered image you have forced everyone to have of your government. If it would, you won't have to be reposting it for propaganda sake. Everyone would have been talking about it. It would have calmed tension in the polity. You would not have been here wasting government resources reposting it.

Only a few people feels that such statements make any meaning. The speech is meaningless. No one takes that kind of speech seriously. It sounds hollow.

Osinbajo has spent the last three years almost telling Christians to shut up. He boasts everywhere that he is the embodiment of Christianity in the Buhari administration. He is called upon to come and talk down on Christians whenever concerns are raised. He lets Christians know that his personal comfort in government is representative of the comfort of Nigerian Christians.

When two Christian women were killed for their beliefs in Kano and Kubwa, Abuja, it was Osinbajo that was sent out to spin the narratives. He made the killings look like it's a normal thing. Arrested suspects were promptly released without diligent prosecution. Victims families were probably compensated with money, as if that is all there is to human lives. No sense of justice. And he is a lawyer. A Senior Advocate of Nigeria. A professor of law.
