Foreign AffairsRe: Former US President Obama Surprised Hospital Patients With Xmas Gift (Pictures) by porka:
Barrack Obama doesn't believe in Christmas.

He did everything he could to whittle down the influence of Judeo/Christian values on America.

He almost removed the word Christmas from Americans" lexicon, promoting instead a "fashionable" word like HOLIDAY, in order not to "offend" other faiths.

At a point he said America was not a Christian nation.

He would latch on anything to feed his complex; a feeling of emptiness that always craves societal approval.

Now that Christmas and other Christian values are being restored, he is back with his narcissistic exhibitions.

PoliticsRe: Minimum Wage Of N30,000 Not Feasible Till 2028 - Alhaji Garba by porka: 3:52pm On Dec 19, 2018
PDP successfully raised the minimum wage from N7500 to N18000 (a 140% increase) without any noise.

The impact was monumental on the lives of the workers.

New houses sprang up all over the country within few years.

Many workers transitioned to middle-class.

They could train their children in schools without N10,000 TraderMoni from anyone.

All of that has been wiped out within so short a time, sadly.

We shall overcome.

Informal jobs and self-employed are not captured in this data.

Judging by this:
“Working age population up from 111.1m in Q3 2017 to 115.4m in Q3 2018 = addition of 4.3m to the Labour Force

And "Total Employed persons(Full+Partime) up from 69.09m in Q3 2017 to 69.54m in Q3 2018,” = addition of 4.6million jobs.

So, it's a net gain!

The headline is very misleading.
You are very poor at ordinary arithmetic.

When they say unemployed population grew, it means that when you removed those who retired and those who dies and those who became of age and stopped being dependants
You are confusing yourself.

Read the report first and stop spewing unintelligible things everywhere.

There is a portion for reasons for being unemployed there.

You are not doing yourself any good by talking about what you have little understanding of.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria’s Unemployed Rises From 17.6m To 20.9m In Nine Months by porka: 12:37pm On Dec 19, 2018
Mynd44:
Actually, if working age population grew from 111.1m to 115.4m, it means 4.3 people entered the working age population

But unemployed grew from 17.6 million to 20.9million which is 3.3 million.

Meaning in the time frame, 1 million jobs were created in the time space but not enough to absolved the growing population.

The bolded, I use mbbs and law because that's what most parents tell their ward to study.
It is misleading to say "most parents". Most depicts majority and there's no way we can measure these sort of things accurately.

Normal parents would naturally wish their children well by guiding them aright.

Many parents would prefer a career in STEM fields (science, technologies, engineering and mathematics) because they offer better opportunities than others.

Many of them have had to rue their choices in life and would prefer their children be guided properly.

When it comes to career and life endeavours, parents have seen it all.

If you are blessed with parents who take your matter seriously by assisting to navigate your career path, be thankful.

And it is not peculiar to Nigerian or African parents. You may read Steven Silbiger's The Jewish Phenomenon for more insights.

If your father's name is John D. Rockefeller or Rothschild you may decide to chose a career as a DJ.

Young people, always listen to your parents. They have traveled the path before. They know the reality on ground.

They know your capacity, what you can do and what you cannot do.

Don't get carried away with this kind of advise.

It will do you no good.

This kind of advise can only set you up as a beneficiary of TraderMoni, N-Power and the like.

It is obvious that this guy has a huge complex, especially with his repeated mention of medicine and surgery and law.

Believe in yourself. But be reasonable.

People study principally because you want to make a living. It is less about feeling cool. Making a living is not a joke.

Make sure you chose a course that gives you training and skill; that guarantees you earning income as quickly and as independently as possible.

It is not every course that guarantees this.

You can still study medicine or law after your first degree. Do not let anyone tell you otherwise. Pursue it. It is worth it.

By the time you are getting inducted as a medical doctor, that your microbiology graduate friend might still be disoriented without any job offer or opportunity.

I hope you saw the news and video where Saraki said they cut the Lag/Ibd road project by 30 billion in the 2018 budget, How do you expect the Executive to finish it? East/West road which is less than 1,000 Km has been on for over 10 years and no tangible progress has been made... Lag/Ibd express was flagged off in 2014 and we all know the politics that was going on.... Like I said My Area we are voting for a government that remember us and now things are changing in the area for even those selling sachet water are making more sales due to the construction going on.... Let the regions that benefited from PDP vote for them, and at the end of the day the Majority will have their way and the Minoritt have their Say... Beauty of Democracy...It’s as simple as that
Buhari's government did not start in 2018.

Before the 2018 budget there were two solid budgets, precisely 2016 and 2017, did Saraki cut those ones too?

A basic google search will lead you to simple answers to your confusion.

Lagos-Ibadan expressway reconstruction was not flagged off in 2014 for politics as you falsely claimed.

It was flagged off on 5th July 2013 to be completed in 2017. You can read and watch the footage on the link below

Jonathan Flags-Off N167 billion Reconstruction Of Lagos-Ibadan Expressway
Channels Television

https://www.channelstv.com/2013/07/05/jonathan-flags-off-n167-billion-reconstruction-of-lagos-ibadan-expressway/

By the time Buhari assumed office in 2015, all the heavy lifting has been done.

For six month after Buhari's inauguration, the two contractors abandoned sites only to resume skeletal works in about a year later, and they have been dragging ever since - 50 meters today 20 meters tomorrow.

Every region benefited from the high GDP growth of PDP governments.

The South West youths benefited from jobs, corporate jobs, and increased human quality than any other region. (Definitely not sachet water selling jobs).

Lagos and Ogun were the direct destination of massive FDIs during that era.

And as you can see, the region hardest hit with Buhari's poor economic management is the same South West - many of the jobs losses and company closures in the last 3 years happened in the South West.

Except you guys are not sincere with your assessment. It's hard to see what you have gained in the last three years.

You can see the aftermath of the economic devastation on the quality of life in your neighborhood, bright youngsters daily burying themselves in drinking and pool betting.

It's Lagos-Ibadan railway. There's still a long way to go from where you are.

You don't necessarily pray that the project gets abandoned but try and temper your optimism with caution till it's done and you ride in it.

After using these pictures to win elections and riding on your bitterness towards Daniel anything can happen.

The Lagos-Ibadan expressway should have been completed by now but they are still there.

Governments come and go.

BTW how far with the "massive construction" going on along Sagamu-Ikorodu road?

The Nigeria railway masterplan has been conceptualized and designed long before Buhari became president. It is a 25 year masterplan that got stalled briefly during late President Yaradua's tenure but quickly revived during Jonathan's presidency.

Buhari does not have that kind of singlemindedness to get any project started. With or without Buhari, the implementation of the railway masterplan is on course.

When elections come just like yesterday's bye-elections (APC 3 vs PDP 0) and the masses choose Govt of Infrastructure over Share the money party, do not wail so much. Go and ask Kwarans how Ilorin-Jebba road was killing them throughout PDP's wasted years of looting.

“Niger State is having a lot of problems with regards to security along our major roads. This include Jebba-Mokwa-Tegina-Birni Gwari road up to Kaduna. Trailers and tankers have abandoned that road because of lack of security. Most of these vehicles now pass through Mokwa-Bida-Minna road to Abuja or to Kaduna

We need reconstruction of these roads with additional security so that tanker drivers and other heavy duty trucks can go back to that road to continue their business.”
