Lalasticlala, this is coming from a credible source. Let us begin to let the people hear the other side of the story.

Glad I even mentioned this in my last article. The press has some hidden agenda in all this and before long, their folly would be laid bare for all to see.

That's how life is.

When the same 'press' helps the government to stigmatized people on corruption charges without legal due process of defending themselves we don't see you 'mentioning it in your article."

Instead, you help 'spread' the propaganda based on 'sources' without 'letting people hear the other side of the story'

They criticized the PDP for not doing anything for 16 years.

Only to come around to shamelessly hope and anchor their failed government's survival on PDP's works without due acknowledgments.

Lol... point of correction, only one set of people fervently pray and wish and cry and wail and gnash their teeth for Buhari to resign. These set of people are the only ones who will heave a sigh of relief and infact, erupt in a wild euphoric jubilation on and off the streets if Buhari resigns or gets incapacitated or dies. These guys I talk about are simply the Jonathanians, primarily the ones of Igbo extraction who have unfortunately exhibited a total incapacity to get over the election loss of GEJ; even the Niger Delta has since gotten over it.

If there is any relief I would experience should buhari cease to be president, it will be the mental relief from encountering the endless daily wails and cringe inducing embarrassing vituperations by you jonathanians. I would also be releived to realise that 'maybe' we may have a return of sensible, mature and educative arguments on the website as it used to be prior to the days of Jonathan and his strange fanatical followings. Lastly, I would be most relieved seeing a possible end to the continuous ridicule a lot of Igbo jonathanians have subjected the Igbo race to since GEJ lost that election.
What you saw in Dutse (Jigawa State) this past week should give you an idea of where the "wild euphoric jubilation" will start from if he resigns - that is if you are half as smart as you claim.

Seems like you are an unintelligent student. Firstly, even a partially blind primary one pupil can see from the chart that the gdp rate was involved in a downward acceleration from mid-2014 (supposedly when the oil prices began to drop) to the 2nd quarter of 2015. You are free to continue disgracing yourself by claiming buhari was responsible for that downward spiral.

Secondly, the the 2nd quarter of a year runs from April-June not July; stop disgracing yourself and embarrassing the people who toiled to send you to school. Data from the NBS show that the growth rate as at the 2nd quarter (being April-June) was 2.35%; but obviously in your peculiar wisdom, it was Buhari who presided over the last month of 2Q that was responsible for the 2.35%, infact buhari was even responsible for the steady downward nosedive of the gdp rate since mid-2014. You lads defending Jona are very 'intelligent.' tongue
"Einstein", your initial claim was that Buhari inherited a 2.3% GDP growth, it is a lie. And you should stop the falsehood, ok.

Seeing that your lie was busted, you are now laboring to be clever with a childish definition "2nd quarter" - April - June.

Then seeing that your lie is going to catch up with you even with your own "definition", you adopted a preemptive attack -
in your peculiar wisdom, it was Buhari who presided over the last month of 2Q that was responsible for the 2.35%, infact buhari was even responsible for the steady downward nosedive of the gdp rate since mid-2014.
That's the tactics of the guilty. You should have left it as is and allow independent minded folks to judge your "advertised intelligence".

Be that as it may, Buhari's election win, announced on April 1st, effectively put Jonathan's administration in a LAME-DUCK MODE, and virtually all economic activities were on hold.

Smart investors, businesses and corporates withheld spending on investments until the swearing-in - until the direction of Buhari's government was clear. All you kept hearing at the time was, "after the swearing-in".

No intelligent businessperson will put his/her money down under uncertainty, especially as Buhari was blowing hot-air all over the world without regard to the grievous damage he was doing to the Nigeria's economy - he hasn't stopped really.

They all waited for an economic policy direction of the incoming government - Buhari presented NONE then, and has failed to present any, almost one clear year after the election.

The oil price decline that you kept hammering on doesn't present the whole story.

Indeed, the oil sector constitutes a miserly 9.80% of the GDP.

While the non-oil sector constitutes a massive 90.20%.

Oil price story is for government revenue and foreign currency (dollar) reserves - it is a shame you don't know these things.

Data from the NBS you quoted (how could the SMART ONE not have seen it?) show that the growth of oil production has always been below the growth of the non-oil sector.

Even when the oil price was high, Nigeria's crude oil production level was hampered by oil thefts and shut-ins which made budgetary provisions largely unmet.

Your penchant for data manipulation to LIE for Buhari is legendary on this forum.

The data you have with you is not for mischief. Neither is it to just STARE at the graphs like kindergarten pupils.

They are for serious analyses, the type of which only the initiates/adults are capable of interpreting.

No need for long incoherent stories, Nigeria is a mono-product economy and once this one product becomes worthless, Nigeria's economy becomes as useless as used tissue paper. That oil becoming worthless coincided with the time Buhari took over leadership, that does not mean Buhari is responsible from knocking Nigeria off the fastest growing chart. If you doubt, below is a chart which shows that Nigeria's GDP growth rate dropped from the fastest lane to about a measly 2.3% as at the time GEJ was handing over to Buhari.
www.nairaland.com/attachments/3644660_nigeriagdpgrowthannualforecast_png7bcd23fc337e90b7d2f7cee256a15425

So you are wrong, the fact is that GEJ met a high GDP growth rate, was able to maintain it fairly through his reign BECAUSE oil prices were sky-high, but ended up crashing it to nothing before handing over the rotten economy to Buhari to take all the blame. Anything Buhari and his team can do to salvage this situation can only materialise after many years as long as oil prices remain rock-bottom; so it is pointless pointing fingers at Buhari as the one who crashed Nigeria. Jonathanians don't like the truth though, so I dont expect this to make any sense to them.
You are a foul liar.

Nigeria's GDP growth rate was 5.94% in January 2015 and 3.96% (roughly 4%) when Buhari took over.

The figure 2.3% you have been quoting here is for end of July 2015, two good months after Buhari's directionless government began.

If Buhari resigns now, so what happens next?

GEJ was given over 5 years and he handed over a rotten economy as at May 29th 2015 even though he enjoyed the best financial income than any other Nigerian leader. Whenever you Jonathanians want to make a comparison, you dubiously refer to the state of things in 2013/2014 when oil still sold upwards of $110; why dont you base your performance conparison on the situation of tgings in his last 8 months?

The amusing part of your hypocrisy is that even after giving GEJ over 5 years and watching him hand over rottenness, you were patient enough with him to allow a confirmed and reconfirmed failure, a further 4 years, but you think Buhari should resign after 11 months. grin

Just so you know, 90% of my comments here on the NL politics section is in RESPONSE to ignorant rants by Jonathanians who have wilfully inflicted themselves with selective amnesia by claiming that things were better with GEJ and that GEJ should have been a better leader even in this recession. Such an ignorant submission especially when you consider how badly things were managed by GEJ in his last 6 months when the oil slump started.
You guys have been lying your whole life to defend a very incompetent person.

You started with lies, so you must continue by lying.

You lied about his competences, lied about his academic records, lied about his sincerity to cover his bigotry, lied...

Therefore, you must continue to lie to defend him by manipulating figures and twisting facts.

If he resigns right now, what you will notice immediately is a sigh of relief on everyone, including you people because you won't have to be lying for him each time.

And quickly the economy will pick up from the crash.

Blackout is an age long problem which has never been solved by any previous administration to date. Hopefully, something will be done about it soon. Fuel scarcity is also one of the negative fallouts of the oil price slump and forex scarcity.

And oh YES, Nigeria is a mono-product economy, you don't need to be a PhD scholar to understand the link between the crash in oil price and the negative economic situation in Nigeria today.
You are giving excuses for a failed leader.

Can Buhari resign and let's see if the situation will be the same?

Nigeria is not the only country affected by the slump in oil price. But Nigeria is arguably the only country whose leaders have thrown up their hands in the air in total surrender, only waiting for oil price to rebound.

By thinking outside the box and taking development outside the choked inner city and creating a non-elitist development model, Ambode could be the real deal. This is what serious people do. This the mark of intelligence and focused mindset. People who make 50 - 100 years future projection would normally think like this.

If this project is carefully and successfully executed. Ambode's name will be written in GOLD like Alhaji Lateef Jakande's.

With the MOU documentation being perfected in May, works should commence on critical milestones in earnest and within 5 to 6 years, this projects should be nearing completion.

This is a very impressive move. This is brave. The lanes should be more than 3rd Mainland Bridge.

AntiIPOOP:
The school cert holder has done what a PhD holder could not.

Very simple economics. We buy most of our goods from China, so why must we pay the Chinese in dollars? The Chinese buy a lot of crude oil from us, so why must they pay us in dollars?

So PMB made a deal with the Chinese. We pay for the goods we buy from China in Yuan, the Chinese currency. They buy our crude oil and pay in Yuan.

The exchange rate is to be pegged at 30 Naira to one Yuan or RMB.

So how does it favour us? Simple.

The Yuan is now 6.48 to a dollar. So if you pay 30 Naira to the Yuan, that would be equivalent to 194.4 Naira to the dollar.

Since the dollar exchanges for 199 Naira, you save N4.6. 199 - 194.4 = 4.6. Simple, huh?

In simple terms, PMB has just strengthened the Naira by 9.15%!

And that's not the end of the story. As we begin to deal in the Yuan, the demand for dollar would plummet and this in turn would weaken the dollar. It would crash to around 140 Naira to the dollar.

May God bless PMB.
China bought 2,740 barrels per day from Nigeria in 2015.

That's not the definition of 'a lot'.

How is this scam ?

With your Propagandistic post.. use your brain.. Why do we have to first of all change our money to dollar before we can buy from China ?? USA is not needed if we are buying..
This is what GEJ ought to have done since.. He had no balls to do it cos he's always scared what the Empire will do to him. As if they did not do via their boko haram wahhabi takfiri saudi araia terrorist instituition backed by the anglozionist empire..

Now if we are buying from China.. We do not need to first of all convert Naira to Dollar before buying from China. This is putting less pressure on Naira for an Economy that is heavily dependant on Dollar... What Buhari did was just make sure we get bank letter of credit dirrectly from Chinese bank and Nigerian banks.

This makes super sense.. So please stop this stupid propaganda..

Your likes preffer to turn to Somalia where people carry will barrow to change ordinary 300 usd right ??

Plus the dieting fiat regime will die and thank Eledumare Buhari has just saved Nigerians from defauting with the fiat system.. The empire..

Now let me explain why.. The fiat regime will eventually die..

Nigeria is currently in an Economic war with the Anglozionist empire. Empire of lies, Debt and most of all a falling empire
that wants to save the little left in the Fiat regime. Honestly, Buhari has done the right thing and for the first time in the history of Nigeria. We finally have someone that has the balls to do it.

The U.S Imperial weapons give definite form to their Empire. And nothing has shaped the Empire more than the FIAT. The deformation began in the year 1971, when the leader of the anglozionistEmpire, the US imposed her Power to re-define the rules of the monetary system for her sole benefit. The ability to print IOU’s in exchange for real value is more clever than theft as they borrow and do not pay back in kind due to inflation. Their enemies (Nigeria, China, Russia, Iran..., BRICS,AIIB,SCO, African development bank..) adversaries and vassals (All the countries in NATO,Japan, Saudi Arabia, Australia + temporary puppets) must found their financial systems upon the printed dollar which they must purchase with hard earned money. That seizure has financed a vast network of military bases, bribery, assassinations, coup d´états and perpetual war.

When we see debt piled on debt just to prolong the dying system, take note that a few monied men enjoy the fruits of this easy money for a time before defaulting. The world this Global Reserve Fiat creates is one of misery and strife where evil and greed feeds upon the spirit, and the world becomes an immoral wasteland of modernity. The worker is discriminated against as all pressure and stress is heaped upon his future, as the law discriminates between debts held as an asset vs. debt held as a liability. -

Today, the East – China / Russia / India – challenge the Global Reserve Fiat. And when the dollar fails, and it will: For debt is the essence of fiat, and when it defaults, the system defaults with it. Buhari has just saved the future of Nigerians from defaulting with the empire. Yes, it is th reason for all this Boko haram, Nnamdi Kanu in the first place. Containing China, Building Africom basses(Which Nigeria refused comeplyely in West Africa) as if that is what Nigeria or African countries need.

The future is bright, the future is China, Latin America, India.. BRICS, AIIB And African development Bank. Watch them try to remove Buhari the same way they did during IBB era. T

In 1985 when– Dollar rate was 1N = 2$, at the time IBB was offered free loans from the league of Arab nations. IBB (Pentagon's Puppet) instead took IMF loan.

Within one month exchange rate became $1 = 3N we never recovered instead IMF own our mains water supply and we had coumpound intterest which Nigerians never finished paying until Obj finally settled in April 2006. However our currency has never recovered. When you deal with the devil you need a very long spoon.

How can this post made it to front page, i hope not.. Some Nigerians are too un-informed or uneducated. No wonder they call them 3rd world country.. O ga oo.
