Folks, you have heard from the horse's mouth. The agenda is real. They want to turn the whole country to Almajiri system of begging with bowls on the street to survive. The idea is to make Nigerians so weak that they won't be able to resist tyranny. When a human being has been stripped of his dignity, the result is slavery. The dignity of majority of Nigerians are still intact, and since the God given resilience is not allowing their agenda to materialize, Femi has to voice out unknowingly. They won't stop. The plan to weaken people's resolve is continuing. You will see more of their pauperization policies in the coming months. |
justy15:You spoke well my friend. But the 'canibilization' tale is neither here nor there. Without attempting to speak for the Indians, the plant was built in the 1980s with many of the components obsolete. The Indians claimed no production could be started until the equipment are retooled. It is better we put this in mind before they bring in some other people who might probably repeat the same thing. The Mittal family is to steel what Bill Gates is to computer OS. They are one of the biggest in the industry. Until they are able to find a good buyer, let's us continue to hold them to account on every dollar they are spending on arbitration. The steel development in Nigeria has been mired in international politics, no thanks Buhari's deliberate stagnation of the project at the verge of completion in the 80s. Had the Shagari administration been allowed to be, the plants would have long been operating before the supremacists set their focus on Nigeria. The conspiracy against the plant is a conspiracy to disallow the black man to ever make economic progress and be truly independent. The conspiracy is thick and is alive. The world bank has maintained their stand on the project. It's obvious they don't mean well for us when they said we should convert it to power plant. To worsen the whole case, Buhari and his government have been on mind games since inception. They barely even understand anything at stake. |
worksmart:What mess are you talking about? Obasanjo privatized the plants but Yaradua attempted to cancel it without considering the impact on the development of Nigeria. The company that bought the entities filed an action at the arbitration court in London. And that's where it has been until the current Fayemi's attempt at getting the Indians to cede one company and hold on to the other. Don't forget that Buhari was responsible for taking Nigeria backward for several generations with his coup of 1983. This steel complex was not an exception. |
How much is Nigeria paying to the Indians for canceling the contract? How much are we forfeiting in this latest round of Buhari cancelations? The Global Steel bought the two investments, can the government take one from them without paying them penalties as stipulated in the contract? Nigeria government should be transparent. How many millions of dollars is going out of Nigeria's external reserves to the Indians for CANCELING this contract? Yes, arbitration may reduce the amount or percentage but the chances of asking the Indians to walk away with nothing because of the second company they also paid for is very slim. Can Nigeria afford to throw money away at this time? |
Look people, it is too late in the day for this kind of write up. People like this Sobowale guy were ready to burn at the stakes for Buhari all this while that we have been shouting. Look people, check your international news channels. They have begun to show extreme malnutrition in Nigeria. The kind of footage with flies swarming human beings who are too weak to drive them that they just allow them perch on their faces. The US and other international "aid" donors are already redirecting their "benevolence" at Nigeria. People like the Sultan of Sokoto have already shouted. It is not a matter of later in the year or next year. Famine, defined as severe food shortages, is already here. People are being reported to steal food on the stove. People are already reportedly pawning their children for food. Nigeria is in great need of prayers. People who vehemently and violently supported this government are secretly ruing their foolishness. Some of them like Sobowale are trying to be smart by acting neutral. They are acting like their senses have just been returned back to them from where they were locked. How could anyone, who went to school, not know that Buhari should have been encouraged to vie for EFCC chairman and not for Nigerian president? When we reminded them of the essential commodities saga that Dele is just remembering, they told us it was thing of the past. When we asked them what Buhari has done to improve on himself since then, they sounded some incoherence. How could anyone use complete six months of a four-year term to select an ordinary cabinet and expect any thing good from the economy? The economy runs on a daily cycle. It doesn't wait for anyone. After attacking the economy so viciously and pauperizing the whole country, they are set to completely bury it by directing their attacks at the banks. How many countries in the world attack its financial institutions with billions of naira depositors funds during recession? To what end? Sobowale should not call to arms, what Nigeria needs is prayers. He was part of the people who foisted this calamity on us, he should be mindful of the kind of remedy he is proposing. Let there be sincere National prayers and fasting. |
Fawyjanty:What has Dr Junaid Mohammed said that has not been said to you people before? Only God knows who has bewitched you people to think any fixing can be done to Nigeria without restructuring. Where you people get your optimism about Buhari's ability to fix anything in a country where everyone (including Buhari and Junaid Mohammed themselves) is striving for his own personal interest is not clear. Even with the country's economy already in ICU, you are still relentless in your myopic reasoning. Instead of elevating Buhari to a deity as your only and last hope, is it not possible to apply better reasoning? |
slimfit1:Be coherent. 'Others, water, home, killing...' What are you trying to say? You thank God because Buhari canceled Jakande's Metroline or what? |
PapaBrowne:Sambo ko, SabonGari ni. |
slimfit1:Kid, you lie! Obasanjo awarded the contract. Yaradua stalled it, for reasons best known to him. He canceled Lagos-Kano and Port Harcourt- Maiduguri out rightly. Jonathan revived and executed it within 3 years. We thank God that this project was already completed before Buhari took office. He would have canceled it as he is known to cancel all good things. He canceled Alhaji Lateef Jakande's Lagos Metroline project without blinking. |
Railway from Lagos to Calabar to be delivered in two years? Exactly what does that mean? Two years (630 days) for a distance of ~574km railroad? Can they build an approximate 1km/day railroad and it won't be substandard? What kind of railway is that? This is how these guys promise heaven on earth and later come to deny it. |
Great! Very great! Dangote is needed in the steel sector after the successful completion of this projects. He should start looking at taking over Ajaokuta and Aladja Steels. He is a good role model. |
Good. |
Ha ha ha ha ha ha! Do you mean Fashola is now a 'ghost worker'? |
Femi Fani-Kayode is a product of Cambridge University. This piece is far below his standard. |
Nigeria's economy is heading for recession according to the National Bureau of Statistics. Many economic and financial experts concur with the NBS. Scientific analyses by independent entities point to downward movement of standard of living due to poor or lack of policy formulation by Buhari. Major credible organizations are reporting increase in abject poverty evidence in growing malnutrition cases especially in the north. Eminent religious and traditional leaders across the country - including the Sultan of Sokoto, Olubunmi Okogie etc - have voiced out their disappointment concerning the economy. Sudden deaths, physical and mental strains of Nigerians are reported daily in the media. What is more? Violent crimes as well as petty theft are on the increase. Families are breaking apart. Able bodied men are losing their confidence and taking a walk from their families as a result of hopelessness. A hitherto growing, hopeful and boisterous middle-class is now shattered leading many to file applications for overseas visa as a last resort. Polling a largely illiterate respondents on their opinion about their god's performance is the most subjective endeavor so far. How does a poll sugestive of expectations of the distribution of N5,000 to the largely illiterate population represent the opinion of the productive population? Even more unprofessional is the skewing of polling respondents number - sample population - in favor of the region where the subject is being worshipped. By the time Buhari's term expires, many hitherto respected organizations and professionals would have lost their credibility. |
Ha ha ha ha!!! Abubakar Bukola MANDELA |
They don't care if people die. They declare it boldly everywhere that people MUST die for their 'dreamed Eldorado' to materialize. That's why news of death is not important to them. Can you see them already talking about other countries? |
modath:Give us the correct picture of things, Lady M. |
Certifiedboss:It's a set-up. They took advantage of Nigerians lawmakers' penchant to travel unnecessarily. Imagine, 10 lawmakers (adults) were HERDED like goats into a well laid out ambush by the American government. Have you asked yourself why an adult male from Nigeria would agree to travel to America with his wife and child on a so-called sponsored seminar and the family is prevented from staying in the same hotel room with him? Why accept to travel at all under the condition of temporary separation from your family who are on the same trip with you? |
AnakinSkywalker:Video evidence of someone talking to a hotel parking attendant doesn't prove anything. But the guy is probably a secret agent with a voice recorder. Video (or solid) evidence of a hotel maid inside the hotel room is a bug. It's a set-up to embarrass Nigera. End of story! |
onadana:But the Americans have shown time and again that they don't care about diplomatic immunity. They have arrested an Indian diplomat and charged her to court on false allegations before. This story says they 'interrogated' all the 10 members on that delegation. Why were they not arrested? It means they were probably not sure of their case. Why did they not charge these people to court to allow them defend themselves? Above all, why did they prevent their wives from staying in their hotel rooms with them? Did they set them up? Were the so-called evidence gotten through bugs in their rooms? |
Thisday! Do states department officials INTERROGATE? Which interrogation method/technique did they use? How come they 'interrogated' 10 suspects in the US since April and found 3 'guilty' in June? How did they arrive at the guilt verdict? Why were they not arrested in April? Are we going to be told later that they were actually 'arrested' in April by Thisday later? Why were these 3 men not told that they have failed the interrogation/interview out of the 10 'suspects'? Why were they not asked to defend themselves afterwards? Why is Thisday allowing itself to be used by the Americans? Above all, why was the wife of one the 3 men not allowed to stay with him in his hotel room by the Americans? Did they plan to scandalize them ab initio? Did they bug their hotel rooms with a view to DISGRACING them with sex stories? Did they set them up? These are some of the questions our media should be asking their so-called 'sources' and the US officials. The French public and media didn't buy into the American narratives in the Strauss-Kahn case hook line and sinker. They simply refused to be used by the Americans. |
KahlDrogo:Initiated by Jonathan in 1992? |
Chuksemi:You are probably confused. There is no where Donald Trump mentioned banning Islam. If you have any such link, please share. What he said clearly is that America should stop accepting Muslim migrants. There are many Americans faithfully practicing Islam and he hasn't said anything about them. Mohammad Ali who recently passed was an all time American icon and he was a Muslim. The new migrants from the middle-east (or elsewhere) who he feels have been indoctrinated are his targets - wrongly or rightly. He also spoke about building a wall against Mexicans who have the tendencies to traffic hard drugs across the borders, why didn't you say he is trying to de-Mexicanize America? Many Nigerians rightly or wrongly expressed the sentiments of preventing people from Liberia into our country during the Ebola public health crisis partly because we felt Sawyer was a bio-terrorist. You will be well informed if you can sit down and read up these issues. By the way, regardless of what Trump said, Muslim migrants are being monitored/profiled more than any other people by the US government since September 11, 2001. Whether they admit it is another issue. If we even assume that is what Trump want to do, do you think it won't be possible just because you assume it won't be possible? It won't be possible because people will resist it. There are some things Obama had tried to do which had been resisted vehemently and they have been impossible to do. You are merely deceiving yourself if you are asking people to be detrabilized in an unfair, unbalance society. The Nigerian Constitution recognizes tribes and calls for fairness and equal treatment of all tribes to engender loyalty and sense of belonging of everyone to the federation. How then do you suddenly want anyone to be tribeless? If there's National Grazing Reserve Law that seizes people's land across the country for one tribe's business interest, would there be National Rice Plantation Reserve or National Cocoa Plantation Reserve across the country too? Or should we because some itinerant fishermen are committing mass murder all over the place and then enact National Fishing Reserve Law to pacify them? And... you can't ask people not to decide their future whichever way they have chosen to. It is called right to self determination. Everyone has a right to decide which wise or foolish decision he/she wants to take. As we speak, the British people are deciding whether to stay or leave the contraption called the European Union. You didn't say they are 'childish' did you? You haven't sermonized about big 'country potentials' to them have you? South Sudan got their independence about 5 years ago through a referendum with over 95% of YES votes. Have you gone back to ask them whether they would vote YES again and they said no? And why are you not making reference to South Africa? Why can't you advocate they should go back to apartheid? Human rights are not human rights just because they are everywhere as you are making yourself to assume. Human rights are fundamental because they are claimed. That's why you think they are everywhere. If you foolishly sit down and assume one paper guarantees your human rights, you are not different from an infant. People are not allowed to get away with human rights violations because some people stand up to ensure that. It is not a mechanical process. It is a result of deliberate actions by those who devote their time and resources to that cause. If the people who are claiming their rights have been forced to keep quiet as you are doing, will you see any human rights anywhere again? The so-called people you mentioned are they not sitting idly by and all manners of ethnic and religious laws are being proposed and passed in stages? What have been their contributions so far? What exactly has the 'staunch Christian' contributed to ensure balance and fairness in view of our religious diversity? |
wolfslair:Exactly! They know how their 'adherents' reason. Just mention corruption and some outrageous figures then the 'adherents' mind is set on default; calling for the stoning and crucifixion of the accused without fair hearing. That's when you see the sahel and savanna reporters at their best. Don't be surprised that they will accuse any opponents of this bill of stealing trillions in 'arms deal', and their 'adherents' will be the willing herds to vilify the 'looters'. |
Chuksemi:This is childish. Has Donald Trump ever spoke about Christianization of America? Didn't the Pope even say he is not 'Christian'? |
Chuksemi:Yeah! Preach on. They said nothing is wrong too when they created Jos North LGA. Just accommodate other people and their 'agitation' would stop. The 'agitation' has since 'stopped' as we all can see. You know, big time. |
Nawa4nl:A dog that would be lost will never hear the whistle of the hunter - as the elders say. |
BudeYahooCom:When you have completely taken over people's mind, they will willingly hand over their property to you. Mentally enslaved people can't put up any form of resistance against their owners. There's no way you can submit your mind to someone and asked him not to touch your property. He who owns your mind owns your possession. |
Safari29:'Hard working' with doctored budget? Did the 'past admin' also 'left behind' fantastically doctored budget estimates? |
change49gerians:The most pathetic is that the worshipers are saying emphatically that the Atiku and Dumebi Kachickwu mentioned in the same document are same with the real ones. But they can lay down their lives to exonerate their god's spouse, even if it is to give another definition to 'middle-age'. Even if they would ridiculously claim that a middle-aged woman has a passport with 1975 as date of birth. |
MalcoImX:He he he he he! Won ti tun de o. Also... Remember his first daughter was married to a Christian man from Anambra? Remember he is the only ex-head of state without a house in Abuja? Remember he is the only retired public servant who rejects his pension? |
