plaetton:Just imagine that. Even with all that he still chose his 'foster daughter' for INEC commissioner when he was asked to nominate someone by Jonathan. |
Deen77:Ha ha ha ha ha So Obasanjo is now your new hero, ehn? It is no longer 'PDP looted Nigeria for 16 years'. After rigmarolling for 14 good months, without a single good thing from your god, you people are coming back to your vomit with multiple nairaland accounts? Shame! You are hiding your god's 'achievements' while presenting PDP Obasanjo's performance. |
dadabashua1:You are beginning to sound like you didn't attend ABU Zaria as you claimed. Are you just seeking admission there? You said you didn't read something but you are making inference on that same thing, huh? Have you passed your JAMB? How did you pass it? Or are you an IJMB student? |
Emilokoiyawon: My brotherrrrrr! The kind of things we focus our minds on, ehn? The 'structures' under reference here were largely built by Sir Ahmadu Bello in the 60s, and you can see that we have not been able to use it for the intended purpose other than admiration. It calls for serious concern. How we are able to redirect our thoughts away from irrelevant things to the things that matter most has become a great challenge. The most pathetic is our people who study in some of the best universities in the world, with excellent grade to boot. But what do we have to show for it? Pictures! They just went there to mark 'present sir'. People who made first-class in Ivy League universities are even more awestruck of inventions/innovations of third-class graduate of their own class than people back in Africa. Can you imagine that? If it was someone who studied in Africa, they would have said, 'oh, African education is substandard after all', but we are talking about people who graduated in the same class with whites, who beat the whites and Asians in mathematics, physics etc. theoretically. The same class o. The white or Asian would go home and apply the limited knowledge he was able to absorb on life-changing innovations but our people at the top of the class will come home and show us pictures of 'structures'. They will tell us how good things are provided for them over there, bla bla bla... Just to even copy and adapt the thing to our environment, na lie! To get a simple solution to anything or issue, we would have to pay to hire the white/Asian third-class guy to help us out. After having paid hugely for our first-class guy's training ni o. And you know what? It is the same guy who will suggest his third-class friend. To be fair, some have attempted to do something at least. The results have been mixed, a little success here, a little disappointment there. But the fraction of those is just infinitesimal to make any impact. The majority is much like this our ABU guy here. You here something like 'Oh boy, if you see their train ehn'? Whereas the plan for the upgrade (new generation) of that train is on the laptop of that his/her classmate o. |
dadabashua1:You've just corroborated everything said about we Africans not being able to 'evolve' beyond the SUBJECT you have chosen as a priority, my friend. How do one even begin to nudge you to develop a little interest in 'knowing' so you can become a 'know all' too? It is all about your priorities, my brother. For you to chose structure over more important criteria says a lot about your interest and even the quality of your personal focus in ABU Zaria. Where in the world is a university's aesthetics more important SUBJECT or 'prerequisite of a good institution' as you claimed? That is absurd at best. That's one of the reasons we Africans do not measure up in anything we do. It still boils down to the lack of depth and the shallowness even among people who have been trained in our best universities. Oga, a good structure is not as important as the people it contains. The quality of a good university is not in structure as much as what the structures are meant for. You posted the shapes of buildings and claimed it is a 'prerequisite of a good institution'? Common! A good institution of learning (university) is beyond structures. University is a very is sophisticated SUBJECT that you need to go back and make elaborate findings about. Perhaps the Nigerian Universities Commission includes 'good structures' (facilities actually) as one of its criteria for accreditation, but it is not there for TRENDING purposes. It is there to know how the institution caters to the business of learning. What the buildings contain is more important than the bricks they are built with and the shapes they have or the coat they are painted with. And your latest excuse about 'prerequisite of a good institution of learning' is an afterthought. If you had intended to make it a 'prerequisite' issue, you would have provided the CONTENT as requested - The lecture rooms, the laboratories, the library, the staff offices, quaters of residence for the faculties, the halls of residence for students, the medical facilities, the sports facilities, the financial institutions etc. Or are you suggesting that NUC will rank ABU Zaria based on the shapes of its 'good structures'? Common! You deserve to start 'knowing' simple - less complex things. It is for your good. For the criteria and methodologies of ranking universities, (so-called prerequisite of a good institution of learning) below are links you can quickly go through and learn, so you too can make it to the 'know all' league. The more you agree to learn, the less urge you have to 'weep' and the more confident you are to make useful contributions to the society beyond posting TRENDING/mundane things. Emilokoiyawon:You are talking of CONTENT? CONTENT? That's a very precious 'commodity' you just mentioned. CONTENT? The day black people everywhere will be concerned with the CONTENT of anything would be a glorious day of EMANCIPATION. If just 10% of black people can even start to think of anything CONTENT, you would see an unprecedented societal progress in a geometric progression. We have somehow been unable (or refused) to 'evolve' beyond using our eyes for ADMIRATION purpose only. With all due respect. Think about our forebears who were given ordinary mirrors and they sold all their RIGHTS to the whites. We just haven't been able to leave that state. Have you seen the pictures of those Nigerians admiring a traffic light abroad in the '50s? That's where we still are. You still see our people with first class degrees from Oxford, Harvard etc uttering statements like; "Wow, this building is fine o", "Yeeeee, come and see this gadget o", "Mehnn, these white people are just too much" These are people who have just been celebrated by the most prestigious human learning institutions in the world. And then their former professors are left confused. You know, this our man is proud of his school not because of the number of patents the school has registered, not because of the number of professors who have been cited in academic communities around the world, not because of the groundbreaking researches that are churned out there, not because of the international mix of faculty and students, not because of the accomplishments of the alumni - like inventions etc., not even because of how regular and predictable the academic calendar is, but because of buildings and aesthetics. That's what a Blackman is generally interested in. Mundane stuffs! Less relevant things. Do you think the whites who constantly deride us have not studied us? The day a very small percentage of us is able to give attention to the CONTENT of anything, that day would mark the beginning of the rise of the Blackman. Our guy here is a university graduate - as he claimed - for instance. But all he seems to have got out of his education in ABU Zaria is how beautiful its buildings' are. We are talking of a full blown adult, who should be involved in the process of solving one societal problem or another with what he has acquired in school. |
adioolayi:You are deceiving yourself. You and your people are underestimating the hardship on the street. You don't have an idea of what is going on. The reality is that people are dying, as such, they are very angry at your people for putting them in such position. Unfortunately, you and your people don't have any strain of human feeling in you. You are still thinking you can use propaganda on hungry people. The wickedness, the callousness, the lack of empathy for vulnerable people is your undoing. Stories of a mother 'renting' a 3 week-old baby for food are becoming the norm in the government you and your masters help installed. The silence from your camp on the hopelessness in the country and the 'fixing' of your slave-masters' children in the most lucrative jobs in the land are already being well analyzed by the people. Your propaganda on your radio and your controlled newspapers has a limit. 'Eni ebi npa ko gbo iwasu' -King Sunny Ade. |
Why have they not been allowing this man to do the communications for them? This sounds like someone who knows what to say at the right place devoid of extremely toxic languages being used by equally irredeemably toxic Buhari worshipers. This shows empathy without necessarily being arrogantly foolish. It shows this particular man has human feelings, not some people talking down from some slave chairs on already wickedly battered citizens. |
May God have mercy on Nigeria. Amen! |
Bolustic:Abuja-Kaduna railway 'The construction of the Abuja-Kaduna rail line started in February 2011 and was completed in December 2014' http://www.railway-technology.com/projects/abuja-kaduna-rail-line/ Lagos-Ibadan expressway reconstruction The reconstruction of the expressway was flagged off on July 2013 by Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, the Immediate past President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, to help reduce the travel time of hundreds of thousands of commuters and international air passengers. The contract was awarded to Julius Berger Nigeria and Reynolds Construction Company Limited at a sum of 167 billion Naira, equivalent to $838.986290.[7] Two sections of the expressway will be reconstructed and this includes Section I (Lagos to Sagamu Interchange) and section II (Sagamu Interchange to Ibadan).[8] https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lagos–Ibadan_Expressway Be informed! |
Abacha stove fabrication is on the rise. |
When will they stop all these would, will, going to, shall etc? When will Buhari start implementing these things? This is July 2016 - 14 months into his government. What has he been doing? |
When Segun Adeniyi was promoting Buhari as the messiah for Nigeria, what was on his mind? These are the type of people who got us into the ditch we are presently in. These are the people who, against any known rationality, sang Buhari's praise to high heavens. This same guy wrote a lengthy article about Buhari's qualifications instead of simply asking the man to present the certificate he claimed to possess. These are the people who should be ashamed of their own past. But no, this is Nigeria. Where people talk from both sides of the mouth and still feel confident. When discerning minds already saw through Buhari's mediocre career and detected lack of capacity to lead Nigeria at this time, Adeniyi was busy writing about how Buhari's performance in group tasks in mid-level military schools were rated - way way back in the 70s. Here he is, talking about the same Buhari's lack of directions. Hear him talking about simple tasks of appointing an ambassador to Qatar. What happened to the accolades he was showered by military instructors in America and India that you wrote about, Mr Adeniyi? Is he no longer that 'first class' performer, in military tasks, that you sold to your readers in the past? Segun and his type should go and hide somewhere. Nigeria would be fine without them. |
Impressive at best. Is this is sustainable or just 'a flash in the pan'? Time will tell. But with a 16.5% inflation rate and N145/ltr petrol price, it won't count for much in the market. |
It is not based on any solid planning or strategies. Just sheer wishful thinking. Does the economy pick up without any policy direction? |
prophetfire:They do that because know Nigerians are not that deep. Any fool will take advantage of shallowness. |
Unfortunately, these people have been thoroughly maligned in the most vicious manner by that despicable ambassador. The national assembly should conduct an investigation into the activities of that ambassador during his stay in Nigeria. |
HungerBAD:A m.oron's diary. Jan 2014 to Mar 2015 Dear Diary, Just elect Buhari. By the time Buhari is elected, water would be wine and sand would turn to diamond. It's possible. The field marshal is the greatest in his class. There's money in the country. Plenty of money. The field marshal will ensure everyone gets money to build a house, buy a car and marry. Up field marshal! Mar 2015 to Sep 2015 - Wait for Buhari's cabinet announcement. By the time the ministries are reduced to 25 the cost of bread and rice would be reduced in the market. In fact, road would be paved with gold. Oh no, there's no need for ministers. They are thieves, noisemakers all. Only the civil servants are clean. They are doing the job excellently. Sep 2015 to Nov 2015 Wait for the ministers assumption of office. O boy, this ministers are super achievers, they will turn the MM International airport to Heathrow in just few months. This is the team. This is it! (apology to MJ). By the time looters are jailed, Nigeria would be like Switzerland. Nov 2015 to Apr 2016 Wait for the ZERO BUDGET to be approved by NASS. Dear diary, just calm down. There's over 3 trillion naira budget money in TSA. As soon as NASS gives approval, Unilag, ABU, etc would be ranked over Harvard, the best in the world, within six months. That is what ZERO budgeting would do. Just chill. The money is already on ground. The over 6 trillion naira budget is what Nigeria has been waiting for since the day of Sir Lord Lugard. Did you forget that CNN announced the return of 90 billion US dollars looted by Diezani back to Nigeria? May 2016 to July 2016 Reduce the MDAs. Well, the pruning of the ministries done earlier is too conservative. Reduce the MDAs to only one. The 3 trillion can ony sustain the presidency. What is the need for government workers. Only the presidency is the government. Can't you see all the trillions are siphoned into looters accounts. Ministries are too corrupt. Government workers are all corrupt. Their MDAs are created to loot and siphon money abroad. Aug 2016 to... |
Economy is run on trust. Sure, there are other 1001 macroeconomic variables but they are driven by that single intangible variable - TRUST. Investors do not have any confidence in this government. They don't have to mount the podium to announce it, they are simply speaking with their money. Both the local and foreign investors do not trust the government. The result is that the few investors still operating are doing maintenance just to maintain presence. They are not making any expansion plan. Some are reducing their future plans because of the bleak outlook. Some are massively downsizing their workforce because of redundancy. There's no sense in investing in an economy where you won't be able to repatriate your profit. Those who have invested before are still battling with how to retrieve their trapped funds. While those who are yet to invest are waiting for a better opportunity. It makes no sense to invest in an economy where the government will call you a thief for making profit. Local investors are not doing anything other than 'pray' for better days. Funds managers are disillusioned because investments are insanely risky. Banks are regulated, therefore they can't lend money above some thresholds; they have reserve ratios to contend with. And they also have huge exposure to oil and gas deals. Government all over the world give directions to economic activities. The actual running of the economy is done by individuals and corporates. Where you have a government which has no single thing it want to achieve economically, you have a situation like we currently have. All nations go through economic downturn, it is the capacity of the government to give directions to that distinguishes the smarties from the laggards. The only policy direction of the current government is that all successful people are corrupt. |
ayindejimmy:You people keep talking unnecessarily. Is it not better to keep quiet than giving Yoruba a bad name everywhere? The nonsense should stop. After his initial silence, Mr. Buhari later suggested during a televised interview on December 30 that the victims invited the wrath of the military upon themselves by “hitting the chest of generals”.This is a full endorsement of the massacre by the C-in-C. Was Buhari provoked too? |
blackpanda:Oga, EFCC does not jail, cannot jail. It is the court that can jail suspects arraigned by the EFCC. Be informed. |
bonechamberlain:Don't mind the guy. They will support anything their god say. Investigations that are supposed to be discrete and stealth to avoid possible compromise of evidence are blown open to tarnish people's image. But court trials which are supposed to be in full public glare are preferred to be secret to deny the accused their rights to public denial of allegations. Now that they are being served their own medicine, they want everyone to suddenly disregard allegations against them. We warned them that their own time would come. When you destroy public institutions and write your own rules simply to gain unnecessary public sympathy, the same will be used against you sooner or later. Wait till Buhari finish his term, and you'll see America wonders of massive media orchestrated trials of himself and his people. If it's 'fair' now to them now, it will be 'fair' then. |
greatgod2012:God allows every human being to exercise his/her freewill. What we have now is small, compared to what is to come. By September, some parents will withdraw their children from school (even public schools) having sold all their assets to pay for the previous terms/semesters. By the end of the raining season, the hunger will move in full scale. |
He he he he he he National orientation things. One posted a 1.3km bridge as a 'pride'. The other posted a shanty and labeled Detroit. Both aiming at forcing national pride on a people who have been unjustly treated. You can't force anyone to believe in your government without first providing justice and equity to all. Your ministry's budgetary allocation for this stunt is going to be a waste. Tell your leader that nations don't develop by force. Nations develop through equity and fairness. |
Ha ha ha ha ha ha Jarman ati Jagaban apa keji Dino Melaye was arguably partly responsible for resting Dimeji Bankole's political career. Is he trying to supplant Jagaban this time for his Jarman position? Time will tell. Meanwhile, anyone who thinks that Dino is doing this on his own is naive. |
The US ambassador should cooperate with the investigation panel. He should bring his evidence against the people he had so maligned in the public. |
mrkayusfit:Muslims use very loud speakers early morning too. |
Coming after lawyers for practicing their profession? Who will defend Magu when his own time comes? People should be very careful of what they say today. Tomorrow belongs to God. |
mapet:Please give us something more genuine. What you posted seems to be a different one. Your Vanguard reference says June 10. Reuters' referred to yesterday, Monday July 11. Give us something more believable, we are all concerned. |
Food scarcity is not looming. Food scarcity is already here. It is already evident. The main producers of food are being wiped out in Benue, Nassarawa, Plateau, Taraba etc. There's no way anyone can kill farmers in the magnitude that the Fulanis cattle rearers have been doing and still expect food production. They have been killing them in hundreds and widely reported in local and international media but no one is thinking of the consequences. It is already here. |
But no single witness is lined against the economy. |
Is God an author of confusion? Goodluck Jonathan has been going round the Western capitals assuring them of getting their homosexual agenda realized. They too probably have been promising to make him a "Mandela of Nigeria" and there's no doubt they will attempt to "whitewash" him and help repackage him like Mr Buhari. If he has any intention of contesting at all, that is his sole purpose of his coming back. How does a homosexual realization agenda of Jonathan's tally with your "promise land dream"? |

You are just showing architectural designs. When it comes to an academic institution what is most important is the CONTENT of these buildings. Is the library modern and up to date in its CONTENT? What about the science and engineering labs? Do they have facilities for students to do research? If we want to move forward in this country we have to start focusing on essentials instead of getting distracted by mere shadows.
