In the same vane the media is to promote all views. According to ur premise then its dangerous for africans to accept what they can't approve cos we don't practice science the way it should be.

I was expecting to read some very interesting science based criticism. It is disappointing to see that you have none to give. Just noise.

Enjoy your day.

According to you. So it's relative. U can discount my own opinion as a conspiracy theory cos it doesn't fit ur own narrative.

A scientific innovation can mainly be criticised soundly on scientific grounds. Not on just gut feelings.
So please offer your scientific criticism to the innovation. Let's hear you.

Please don't sound like a noise maker. Make some sense please. I am a scientist and I would so love to hear your sound criticism.

Let's have it.

The truth fears no criticism. People should be free to criticize. It is the same scientist that can agree that to be gay is normal or abnormal. Our world is now a world of views and opinions so no one should be criticized for seeing things different. Thats what it means to be enlightened
Unfortunately these is no criticism. It is only conspiracy theories. Malaria is a big issue in Africa. True of false?
If not for the billions of dollars put into research and development, millions more will still be dying today. Do you know how fast the malaria parasite develops immunity to any new antimalarial drug? Why do u think you and I don't use the chloroquine again? Very soon the ones that are active today , won't be active again.

Drugs and vaccines are major development coming out of active researches which the black man has been dragging his feet on. Someone out there is taking the pain to do what needs to be done, you are only good at criticizing based on theories that they want to kill you.

You claim the white man wants to depopulate the earth, starting with the black race, yet they ship other vaccines to you in million of vials to be taken compulsorily by every child born today, and you think they lacked the sense to add their "poison" to the already accepted vaccines? They could only think of adding it to
a new vaccine which will be voluntary?

They must be very foolish people 😅

That's not the point. Vaccines is not beyond criticism. Criticism is beneficial. We can't just take a white man's word for it simply because he says its okay for us to take it. Get sense

Ignorance is a big problem in this part of the world. Did anyone force you to take the vaccine? Have u been told it is mandatory? Why didnt you avoid the small pox vaccine and all the other vaccines you took and took for your children? Or you are not aware that they were imported from the same white man's country?
Your problem is that u so lack the sense you want others to get. One day u will get it.

It's called 'competition'...plus, if there is an ongoing trade fair programme, goods there are very likely to be cheaper...because they are likely direct from manufacturer.

The chaps that sell outside trade fair, they buy from wholesalers. Prices go up

Again, they are also suffering the same hardship. They have to make money to eat, to pay taxes, market dues, etc. etc. And they still have to buy new stock whose prices go up....

Unless you want price control (last time we tried it, we ended up with scarcity and queues).

How many have become zombies?

You just like disturbing yourselves with fake conspiracy theories, using religion and fear wrongly.

In as much as what that woman did is very wrong, I've never see any government that loves social media clout and eye service like this Lagos government, especially this Sanwo Olu administrator, the eye service is just too much. In case they have forgotten, Both public and Private schools in Lagos still allow teachers abuse their students in the name of flogging and punishment, but no they will not see those one's to abolish, it's only the ones that will give them social media clout they are After.
Hmm

First and foremost, you cannot blame anyone for attending first to what trends or what is made viral by social media. Talkless of the government. It is a bit very natural.
Yes I understand that they have to do a lot more, but any issue that gains public outcry becomes an automatic neccessity. Cus it is all eyes on them at that instance. Thus, they won't to mess up.

Secondly, you made mention of flogging in schools in the name of discipline. Well, since the Nigerian society has taken this as an acceptable form of discipline backed up by ur culture and all major religions, I don't see how the government will suddenly change that. Maybe you are yet to observe that the government follows cultural and religious standards and will most times almost never contradict them.

If we go by that, no marriage will exist anymore.

Every single marriage have their own issues. And many can be helped.
Even the best of lovers who are so called 100% compactible can develop issues during marriage.

Hmm.
The sincere truth is that nothing good ever comes easy. Many couples make mistake with spousal choice. And when they get into marriage, the battle become very unbearable for them. Often times they close their eyes to details they should have seen before stepping into marriages.
For many of them, they can be helped ONLY if they are willing and ready to make compromise. But u see, when the option of divorce is on the table, forget it!

Little issue, couples are already opting out. As if the next person they will meet will be better. Or they themselves are good enough. It is well.

Religion / You Need Relationship With God, Not Lengthy Prayers!. by Porksupplyib: 2:30pm On Mar 27
Many attimes, I see many Christian heads hammer so much on the need to pray pray pray and pray! They preach on how long a Christian should pray and so and so forth.

Christians jump From one prayer house to another, One prayer vigil to the next, all in search of answers to a certain need or desire. All these are nothing short of spiritual gymnastics. Many will bear no result.

Many of us play to the gallery, desperately wanting to be seen or noted as a serious Christian by others. All of these is vanity.

It is true that a good prayer life is important to us as christians, but what is even more important is for us to have a real relationship with God.

Let us liken our relationship with God to that of an earthly father and his son.
It is the son who obeys the father, pleases the father and honours and loves him, that the father will feel compulsorily compelled to be there for him whenever he calls.
If you are a disobedient and rude child, that only approaches the father whenever u need something from him, you can be rest assured that your request would be declined most times.

This very same analogy applies to our relationship with God. Most christians want to live their own lives, enjoy their sinful lifestyle, but still expect God to answer their every prayer just because they went for 7night vigils within a month and prayed all night long.

God cannot be mocked!

Even those who serve other gods know how to obey their gods and do things that please him before requesting a thing from him. They know that failure to do the wish of their gods will bring dire consequences. Thus, they are diligent.

But, we christians feel we can deceive God with our few hours of crocodile tears and wailings in prayer.

It is written; "The prayer of a sinner is an abomination unto God."

Yes, God is merciful and kind, but stop taking his Mercy for granted. Work on your relationship with him and you will have peace in prayer.

Having a good relationship with God encompass loving, honouring and obeying God's will. It involves studying his word and PRACTICING it.
I have put a huge emphasis on "practicing", because It is not just about reading the word of God or knowing the will of God, if you will not do as he commands.

I pray that as we all take a step to do the right thing, God will help and strengthen us through his holy spirit in Jesus name .

God bless you.

I know families that are almost parting ways because of this lines.
Please and please Japa comes with its own challenges and it's extremely expensive and one must think very well and be tactful before a step.

You must have funds to keep you a year or 2 ... And this runs into thousands of pounds.

I mean families sold houses, cars, left jobs and they are here fighting.... Na u say make i leave Nigeria. I am not telling u super story this is true life story.

I can only pray that God will strengthen people to avoid making rash decisions with their lives.

We must understand the fact that japa would not benefit everyone. It isn't for everyone. Yes it is tough here in Nigeria. But still it is home to millions of us. Many don't have the privilege and opportunity which some have. So let's stop making people depressed by using our words to paint our nation as trash.

It isn't everyone who have relocated abroad that is better of. Some are regretting it today. Please think before you take that step.

the difference in pay between private and government hospitals is not that wide, some big private hospitals even pay better, this isn't 10 years ago

Can you define the "NOT THAT WIDE"?

Even if it is 10k difference, we all know the benefits of being a government staff far outweighs that of being in the private sector.

Moreover how many big private hospitals are we talking about here? Very few. And how many private hospitals are in the country? Thousands. So what are we talking about?
Health / Re: LUTH Reacts To Reported Shutdown Of Its Wards by Porksupplyib: 1:21am On Dec 04, 2023
kinguwem:
The US has the highest maternal mortality rate amongst developed countries esp. in low resource states (Louisiana etc.) despite being the worlds leading economic. The answer is not far fetched: the health system. The Medicaid provides health coverage to low-income people and is one of the largest payers for health care in the United States. The health insurance scheme offers limited services compared to those funded by private health insurance companies for high income earners. In States where abortion is restricted, some women especially blacks run into trouble getting good maternity services.

But for a CMD, a Prof. to be equivocal about problems in his facility is absurd & speaks volumes of the way our hospitals are being managed. The African healthcare system is rated poorly compared to those in other climes. South Africa has a health care index score of 63.97, the best in Africa. Some of the best hospitals in Africa are in South Africa. Nigeria has a health care index score of 48.49.
No Nigerian public hospital is list anongst the top hospitals in Africa.

We need to be realistic in the approach to solving the problems in our health system. Too much emphasis on infrastructural development than maintenance, capacity building, manpower development & motivation, research & partnerships with other institutions in terms of provision of expertise, equipment & drugs.
With this kind of attitude, it's not difficult to explain why our healthcare system is in a bad condition.

The way we're going, we can never get it right.

You have said far too much than needed on this simple matter.

I don't think the CMD was in anyway equivocal about the state of things going on in the health sector in Nigeria. He made it plain that they have issues. He however had to debunk the false news circulating that they shut down wards due to lack of doctors.

That is what the whole talk is about.
Health / Re: LUTH Reacts To Reported Shutdown Of Its Wards by Porksupplyib: 8:34am On Dec 03, 2023
RisenJoe:
You APC people should have an iota of shame, no need rubbing into our eyes how you people have finally succeeded in bastardizing our health sector.

I knew this rebuttal will surely come but I'm surprised it came this late.

BTW, what do you expect the CMD to say? Someone that is under the govt payroll, he will say anything just to save his skin and job.

So the lawmakers that made the statement after visiting the hospital are now criminal elements who doesn't want your darling country to succeed?

Attributing the so called "global village" as the reason for japa is trying to pull the wool over our eyes, b4 the advent of APC, only few people are interested in JAPA but APC came and destroyed the economy, it's not only the medical professionals that are leaving in droves but every other sector is being affected.

Lol, this guy sef

It is undeniable that we are losing Doctors faster than we are making them as a result of the "japa" trend.
The CMD didn't deny that.
However it is a big lie and an exaggeration that LUTH closed wards because of lack of doctors and nurses.
Haba!

Before that will happen, it will mean every private hospital in the country won't have Doctors again. Do you know why?
Because the government pays doctors far better than private hospitals.

Any advert for position in government hospitals would be swiped up in no time by ready hands who are yet to leave the country.

At the end of the day, everyone wants better pay. That is why skilled labour's including doctors are relocating abroad. That is the very same reason why doctors in private hospitals will tender their resignation letter fast and pick up jobs in hospitals like LUTH before they close down wards.
