As i asked and no one here has answered, the pharisees and scribes were known enemies of Jesus, do you find any place where He prayed for them and blessed them?

To answer your question in all sincerity, I can't recollect where Jesus prayed for the pharisees, However there was never a place or an instance where he stated that he hated them or prayed negative prayer against them despite all their hatred towards him.

Christ knew they didn't like him, he saw their plot to bring him down, nevertheless he never wished them ill or pray that they should fall down and die!

That is the example he laid down for us.

And even though it was not recorded that he prayed positive prayers for them, know it that he definately preached/corrected them in love wishing in his heart that they would see the light and be saved.

If Christ had said it, "pray for your enemies, do good to those who oppress you" , know then that he did prayed for his own enemies too.

All the apostles of Christ who were the foundation of the church of Christ went through HORRIBLE persecutions. One which even the bible could not describe. They were imprisoned over and over again. Brutalized on several occasions and many were martyed. Yet not for once was their prayer against their persecutors. Rather they showed love even through the tough tribulations.

My prayer is that the Lord will help this generation to see the light through Christ Jesus our Lord.

Amen.

I want you to know this; it is a tough journey. One which will defer all common sense and reasoning of man. Your flesh will fight it. But through grace ye shall win the race.

Shalom

Considering all the defence put up by fellow christians with regards to "hating their enemies" I can not help but feel very sad in my heart.
This has clearly shown how much deviated the body of Christ is from christ's teachings and plan.

The big mistake many make in justifying whatever they do in Christianity is to quote one old testament verse, forgetting that Christ is the standard and not David, Solomon , Abraham or any other person.

You are only a Christian if you are CHRIST LIKE in your actions.
So ask yourself, will Christ hate his enemy because he did so much wrong to him?

The answer is NO.

So who is your mentor? Who are you emulating? Are you obeying Christ Jesus?

Answer these questions truthfully. And you will be on the pathway to salvation.

Many believe they are christians but Christ do not know them. Their case will be pitiful in the end, because they feel they are doing God's work and living for Christ. But in truth they are VERY far away from him. They have been carried away by flesh induced teachings of men who have been elevated by men and not God.

Verily I say into you, if you hate anyone, Christ is not in you and he doesn't know you. And you are not a christian.

Go check it out, we pray for our ememies to die only when they have fatally "wounded" us, else we would pray for them according to the natural justice of the situation. And then there is a time we pray for them to change.
But after that, if they don't cross our path, then, we know that they shall reap the fruits of their planting whether we pray or not, thus, we can go on with our lives.

grin wonderful!

This is a topic that most Christians tend to avoid. Sometimes we pray for our enemies to die.

Well of course abba father would surely deliver us from the hands of our enemies. We should also pray for their salvation, I don't mean demons but I mean those under bondage of these evil powers

Seems a bit controversial but remember from whence our father saved us from, before we were born again in Christ we were once someone's enemy. But our father forgives and he forgave us so let's try to put our enemies and those who give us problems in prayers.
"That our father should deliver us from their evil schemes and save them if possible but nevertheless his will and not ours should be done".

For a reason our lord and teacher jesus said we should love our enemies and pray for those who cause us harm.

Now some of may say we are giving them more chance to cause us harm but remember this. It is written who can separate us from the love our father has for us, shall it be tribulation, affliction, hunger. Nothing can even the one we call enemies and the moment you start realizing the love our father has for us your fears would be drowned in his love

There is actually no controversy in this particular topic, it is only a separating factor between true christians and those who just call themselves "christians" tbut are not Christ-Like.

"Love your enemy" is a resounding teaching of Christ. Irrespective of what they scheme about you or against you. Irrespective of what they plan against you. LOVE THEM. Pray for them.

The today's christains have a wrong view of what christianity means. They have come to believe christainity is about them having a sweet, smooth, rich, problem free life. grin

That is a lie from the pit of hell.

"Count it all joy if you are persecuted for my sake" James 1:2..

A christian should rejoice in persecution. Not start praying for the death of their persecutants or praying "back to sender" type of prayer.

All these are flesh induced prayers and are not found anywhere in the body of Christ.

It is quite unfortunate that today this "fire for fire" teachings is what is being preached in most churches. The love of Christ is not taught. christians see their problems as being caused by another human somewhere, and hence they pray vigorously that those humans should die by fire. Or the likes
It is such a pity.

Agriculture / Re: How Can I Grow My Plantain And Banana Trees Faster? (Photos) by Porksupplyib: 12:10pm On Jul 03, 2023
Give it time. The banana suckers that are sprouting are doing well. Just give them time.

Your newly planted plantain suckers should do well. Just be patient For a sucker you just planter 2 weeks ago, it needs time to settle down and acclamatize to it's new environment. The roots are yet to hold firm. Your plants are still in a state of shock. Just give the necesary support (water and nutrients in form of fertilizer/manure) and give it time.

Work on your spacing too. I see them getting clustered very soon.

Stop comparing your plants with your neighbours own. You didn't plant at same time grin

Hypocrite!
That's what you are.
You are not making mockery of correction and yet that's exactly what you have done with, sneers and laughter.
You scoff at truth and dismiss it as "moral grounds."
A man whose mind is already made up to live according to the titillations of the flesh will always find reasons to scoff at any truth which will lead him to give up the unregenerated appetites of his carnal mind.
The scoffer scoffs only at his own inability to come to terms with reality; with truth, and so he dismisses it as "moral grounds." The scoffer scoffs only at his own deficiency in understanding!
This much is very clear.

grin grin grin wonderful!
You are a truly funny personality. Seriously grin

You are spending so much energy arguing a simple topic. Trying to force down your opinion on the general public when we have very simple and clear evidences to hold on to that shows the wine/achohol is indeed medicinal! grin I am enjoying seeing you sweat over the topic. Keeping trying bro.

Call me any name you wish. It doesn't change what it is. I am not interested in changing ur opinion. That is life. We are bound to have diverse opinions on varying subject matter. I don't think you are ignorant or an hypocrite. It is only your own opinion. So you are a free man.

1. Beginning in verse 2, Paul declares that He speaks only by the authority given by Jesus Christ meaning that everything Paul says must be validated against that spoken by Jesus Christ Himself. This means that anything contrary that that spoken by Jesus Christ Himself, whether it be stated by Paul must be cast down as a lie.
In Matthew 5 that Jesus Christ described sexual sin/immorality as the lust(sexual desires) in one's heart against God — this again is not a reference to sexual activities carried out by persons.

Holiness as commanded by God is according to the standard that is Jesus Christ so it is impossible to become Holy without strictly adhering absolutely to that standard and authority that is Jesus Christ. So, in verse 3 and later in verse 5, Paul makes reference to sexual sin and sexual desires as defined by Jesus Christ in Matthew 5 vs 27 - 28.
Clearly, you don't seem to comprehend Paul's views as expressed in his letters. I would rightly advice that you spend more time instead learning the Truth of God in order that you may be able to then better parse the views and opinions expressed by Paul in his letters. undecided

2. I don't care what Paul was or is to you — a god or a saint —, as what matters is instead the standard of holiness given by God, the standard by which all those who are born-again will be judged. No one who faults short of that standard — Jesus Christ — will see God. undecided

You are just like someone who sees Pork meat as very bad. No matter how much talk you hear you will never see otherwise. So enjoy. cheesy

Standing on religious grounds, if after seeing Paul's admonision to Timothy you still feel wine/alchohol is a sin, then that's your problem.

Standing on moral grounds, there won't even be need for a discussion. grin

The verses are clear enough.
You are under the Laws of Life! The Laws of Creation. You have been deceived.
Paul referred to the Jewish traditions as the Law.
Christ referred to the Laws of Creation as the Law of Love, the Laws of Life.
They are immutable and unchangeable.
Heaven and earth will have to pass away and yet they remain unchanged, because the whole of Creation came into being through the Divine Laws.
They are written into Creation Itself as it's operating system, even in the heart of man.
The spirit of every man flashes his intuitive perception with a deep inner sensing of what is right and what is wrong. Man is always inwardly guided until he numbs his deep inner feeling with all kinds of intellectual obfuscation originating from his willful inclination to perversions and corruptions of the material world which draws on and on to the path of spiritual rebellion against the Laws of Life, against the high standard of relentless purity and sobriety set for him by the Creator.
A rebellious soul seeks justifications for his decay reason in his soul. He seeks justifications for unfettered freedom so as to riotously pursue all his abominable and untamed appetites. He even goes as far as searching the Scriptures so as to give himself a staunch support to go the whole hog in ventilating his follies and fancies with out let and hinderances.
He says he is under the law but under some concept of grace, a man made doctrine distorted and twisted out of reason in order to give spiritual rebels a ground to commit themselves to a loose and wayward lifestyles. Libertines, epicureans, erotomaniacs, a degraded human beings subdued by the lower self; the beast of sinful passions in man, are the end product of the concept of grace!

Law of life? grin wonderful!
Ok daddy life. Stick to your law of life grin
Enjoy it. wink

You are the funny person here.
Alcohol is not good for your spiritual evolvement. Why not grasp this simple truth. Alcohol weakens your aura and opens it up for influx of inferior energies from the mental plane. This process can be seen very clearly from the clairvoyant perspective. Low energies and inferior thought forms stream towards the psychic airwaves of a man who spends himself in drinking.
I said you should not take my word for it. Go and ask any honest gifted psychic about this reality. A man who spends himself in drinking can only be approached by unclean spirits on the Mental Plane. Nothing exalted will ever incline to his thought fields.

It is not for nothing that all the great Teachers of Man admonished their followers to desist from alcohol;
in Islam, in Christianity, in Bahai Faith, etc.

You referred to St. Paul's letter to Timothy, and yet you cleverly
omitted to see quite very many verses in the same Bible warning against alcohol; verses such as these:

"Wine is a mocker, beer is a brawler,
And whoever is intoxicated by it is not wise."
(Proverbs 20:1)

"Harlotry, wine and new wine take away the understanding."
(Hosea 4:11)

"Woe to those who are heroes in drinking wine
And valiant men in mixing strong drink."
(Isaiah 5:22)

"Woe to those who rise early in the morning that they may pursue strong drink,
Who stay up late in the evening that wine may inflame them!"
(Isaiah 5:11)

"Who has woe? Who has sorrow?
Who has contentions? Who has complaining?
Who has wounds without cause?
Who has redness of eyes?
Those who linger long over wine,
Those who go to taste mixed wine.
Do not look on the wine when it is red,
When it sparkles in the cup,
When it goes down smoothly;
At the last it bites like a serpent
And stings like a viper.
Your eyes will see strange things
And your mind will utter perverse things.
And you will be like one who lies down in the middle of the sea,
Or like one who lies down on the top of a mast.
“They struck me, but I did not become ill;
They beat me, but I did not know it.
When shall I awake?
I will seek another drink.”
(Proverbs 23:29-35)

"Awake, drunkards, and weep;
And wail, all you wine drinkers,
On account of the sweet wine
That is cut off from your mouth."
(Joel 1:5)

"Now therefore, be careful not to drink wine or strong drink, nor eat any unclean thing."
(Judges 13:4)

"It is not for kings, O Lemuel,
It is not for kings to drink wine,
Or for rulers to desire strong drink,
For they will drink and forget what is decreed,
And pervert the rights of all the afflicted."
(Proverbs 31:4-5)

"Do not drink wine or strong drink, neither you nor your sons with you, when you come into the tent of meeting, so that you will not die—it is a perpetual statute throughout your generations."
(Leviticus 10:9)

Lol. I did not cleverly omit anything. It is you who is misinterpreting and quoting old testament scriptures( which was addressing those who were consecrated and under the law) to buttress your point. grin
Sorry bro. We are not under the law neither are we Levites.

We are talking of the medicinal properties of the wine and alchohol. If Paul could recommend it to Timothy , then that is clear enough.

Feel free to chose your path.

Now I asked a question earlier , please kindly provide a simple answer to it.
Since you called OP a liar, what would your own sermon be regarding this issue (sexual sins)
What will Christ do?
And what will Christ have us do?
Will it be to ignore or what exactly.

Kindly preach ur own sermon correcting OPs own.

1. OP is a liar because there are no such things as dangers of sexual immoralities. Jesus Christ did not teach you such things nor did He send you out to police the sexual activities of others. undecided

2. You work against Jesus Christ when you use His name to teach that which Jesus Christ did not give you explicit permission to. In this case, Jesus Christ did not teach you to go tell people of what you refer to as the "dangers of sexual immorality". In His Kingdom, the only sexual sin you can commit is when you lust in your heart against another woman - Matthew 5 vs 27 - 28 - and that sin is registered against God the moment that thought is hard — not when sexual activity occurs. undecided

3. The conclusion was reached by Jesus Christ, not by me. I simply accept the teachings of Jesus Christ and affirm His Truth. undecided

Please do you read the Bible?

What does 1thesalonian 4:3-5say?
Paul was admonishing the thesalonians

"1. It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; 4 that each of you should learn to control your own body[a] in a way that is holy and honorable, 5 not in passionate lust like the pagans, who do not know God; "

Was Paul not a representative of Christ? Was he not a foundational member of the Christianity you practice today?
2. So you are saying Paul preached a sermon that was not of God? grin

You are a very funny person.

2. Nope, I wouldn't. Your many denominational quarrels in the religion of Christianity is of no concern to me. My energy is instead focused on speaking God's Truth, Jesus Christ, in place of the many lies religion speaks using His name.. undecided

3. Again Jesus Christ said that those work against Him are not of Him. Clearly, you cannot go around asserting your own ideas in place of His own Truth yet still believes yourself to be of Him.. undecided

Seriously you a very unserious person!
I don't even know what you are saying at this point.
1. The OP simply dropped a short sermon on the dangers of sexual immoralities and you are saying Christ didn't say we should concern ourselves with the sexual activities of others. That he is a LIAR! Do you even know what is in the bible?

So please educate us what will Christ have us do as Christians?
Is it that he would want us to ignore those who are engaging in sexual immoralities? Or what exactly?

2. Please how is the OP working against Christ ? When he is admonishing others to avoid the pitfall of sexual sins. Tell us the Lord's truth about this matter.

3. How have u come to conclude that OP is not of Christ?

Please answer clearly with straightforward understandable words and scriptures.

Every part of the human body is subject to faults. Just like a machine(e.g A Car)
Faults can develop in the Car engine, same way it can develop in the car's Window.
This equally applies to the human body. So because a person has faults in the urinary section of the body does not make it an abomination.
Yes it is seems like a rare issue, but the real truth is that it isn't that rare. Many just keep it a secret.

So please let us stop sounding ignorant by saying it is definately a spiritual attack!
I guess malaria is also a spiritual attack? Or someone with Diabetics is also having a spiritual attack?

Most times chronic bedwetting in adults (i.e the ones that started from childhood and persisted till adulthood) is a defaultive neurological developmental condition.

Whenever the bladder is full, a signal gets sent to the brain, this alerts you as a human as the pressing pain(you feel pressed)
Every human has control over the sphincter(a flap/cover/lid)which covers the exit of the bladder. That is why your urine does not drop as it is stored in the bladder. That is why u can hold yourself from peeing even when u are so pressed. This is also a neurological control. It is brain power. Now if there is a failure in any of these above neural controls , expect issues such as leaky urine during awake times and bedwettings during sleeps. It is mainly a neurological problem.

Your obsessions with the sexual activities of others reveals you a liar and not of Jesus Christ actually. This since Jesus Christ never sent any man out to monitor the sexual choices of others and He was explicit when He made clear that a man commits sexual sin against God the moment he lusts in his heart after a woman. So your so-called mogs and pastors/preachers are in fact to blame for lying to people using God's name that it is when they engage rather in sexual activities that sin is committed -- nothing good can come from lies. undecided

He speaks from ignorance.
It is certain he has not experienced the subtle dimensions of the human anatomy. God did not create alcohol for consumption. The Archons (Dark Spirits) were the ones who taught men how to extract alcohol from plants in order to use it for consumption so as to weaken their astral body.
Alcohol is bad.
If you are permitted the gift of psychic vision you will be shocked at what alcohol does to the astral body of man. It brings down the natural defences of the astral body and creates vapours around it which draws unclean entities and filthy energies to attach themselves and feed off the life forces of the person. It is the aural attachment that actually brings about the intoxication. The alcohol only opens the mind up for influx of alien influences coming from malevolent energy beings.
Leave alcohol alone. It is a chemical meant for industrial use. It was never intended for consumption.

Funny as it may seem, it is you who speak with a lot of ignorance.

There are a whole lot of man made interference into what we know as the church today.
Naming of church denominations leading to several variations and practices are all man made.

Picking the Sunday as a day of worship is man made.

All these aren't biblical.
At the end of the day don't be surprised that we are only practicing our own man made version of Christianity.
A simple comparism of today's church with what the church entails in the early days will give you a very clear insight into this.

Therefore I will admonish anyone who claim to love Christ, (wants to do his will and loves to follow in his footstep) read his word for yourself and obey what it says. Don't follow tradition.

The point which we need to agree upon is that the church is not a place. For that reason, a church can be 3people gathered together in fellowship in a living room.

What you should be advicing the Op to do is to ensure he doesn't forsake meeting together with other christians to fellowship.

The two. Are you temple or church according to the Bible?

Smiles. You cannot pick an unrelated verse in the bible to substantiate a point you are trying to drive at.

The temple of God is the house of God. Today the church is the body of Christ. And it entails the people and not the building. Unlike the temple.

That is why if you and I sit in our sitting room and worship and commune sharing the word of God, we are a church!

Do you know that there are places around the world where christians cannot meet in public or a known place to worship as you and i do here in Nigeria?

And yet the church exist in these places. It is the people and not the place.

The temple was the house of God. That is a known fact. But after the death of Christ the veil of the temple were rent. The era of the temple ended. The temple of God now lives in you and I. You can now approach the father anywhere and anytime.

Now that I have cleared the above misconception lets me attempt to give an answer to you Op.

First and foremost let's dive into the bible and bring out the most favoured scripture we Christians quote whenever this question arises.
That is Heb 10:25.
"Thou shall not forsake the gathering of the brethrens...."
This is the King James version.
Howevre that verse would be incomplete without the adjourning verses . We need to read all to comprehend the circumstances that led to Paul saying those words.

Heb 10: 19-25

Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
(This is NIV)

As you can see here Paul was admonishing the brethrens not to give up on hope , and to support one another in love , and in verse 25 he said, "we should not give up on meeting together." As some of us are in the habit of doing.

That group of verses shows the entire message which Paul was trying to pass across .

Verse 25 does not stand alone, and you will be missing the true picture if u just quote that single verse.

With that said, we can see that communion of Christians is important. We need each other to strengthen our hope and faith.

However NOT GOING TO CHURCH IS NOT A SIN
Don't make that mistake !

Going to church is not living righteously.

In fact, you can be going to fellowship/church and still be living backwardly .

Communion/fellowship can be between 2or more brethren of like minds on any day of the week when u find convinience and are prepared to sit and share the word.
That is a church!

That we are carried away by the traditional ways of things doesn't mean it is the standard.

So dear OP, if you truly love God and want to grow in spirit as a Christian, endevour to find a group of people of like minds whom you can study together and share love.
That is what Paul admonished. It isn't compulsorily it is a named congregation .

But endevour to always fellowship with brethrens. Any day, any time.

Depending on how you see church. If you see it as your father's house and inheritance, no one can stop you going to church. You can imagine the frustrations and hypocrisy Jesus had to cope with as He went to the temple and the synagogues every sabbath day. And He had to listen to the drabbest, dead, hypocritical, cringeworthy sermons for about 30years. You have easier choices today as there are different branches and denominations to choose from.

This is just a deviation smiley, i am not here to either support the OPs refusal to go to church or to go against it. However the church is not "God's house" as you put it. That is the mistake we Christians make. And it is unfortunately a huge one.(that is the reason we spend billions building massive cathedrals )

The church is the people.
it is the congregation of people who come together to fellowship in one spirit under Christ.

The place of worship is of little or no significance. It may be a shed at the back of a house, under a tree, or anywhere.
"Where ever 2 or more are gathered in my name....."

We are not practicing judaism. It was then that we had the temples where God's presense resided(the holies of holies). And when we had the Levites.
That was then.

Stop mixing the 2 religions. Learn the differences.

Their claim is justified. If not for how poor our institutions of learning are plus bad govt policies, what is one going to look for in UK or other countries?

This has nothing to do with our poor institution is learning. We all know 90% of those travelling using the student visa route are not doing so for the education.

Satan is spirit, and yes he can't die. he was on earth even during the flood. His effort ensured many refused the call of salvation through the ark of Noah.

Not trying to hold brief for the OP in this or anything, but why would God want that? What God says He wants instead is for men to obey HIs teachings and commandments. That has been His mandate from even Adam, and it remains the same mandate to this day. For you to think that God wants you to raise your hand in praise when He previously explained that all your offerings — your praises, works, prayers, offerings, etc., — are made filthy by your sins and hence an abomination to Him means you probably need to do some stepping up where God is concerned. God wants only one thing from you and that is your trust and obedience to His Law. undecided

How nice it would sound and look if you don't add that wrong smiley to you every post.
