Only terrorists will support HAMAS killing of innocent Israelites. They'll surely receive the judgement of God. I only pity innocent ones dying on both sides for this avoidable war. Iran is definitely part of the whole stuff but playing ostrich game. Peaceful talk and peace is the only war out. Hamas must be brought to justice FreeStuffsNG: |

CORPSE BEING PREPARED FOR BURIAL GRABS BROTHER’S HANDS There was panic today (Monday) at the mortuary of Plateau Specialist Hospital in Jos, when the corpse of a man being prepared for burial suddenly grabbed his living brother’s hand. The incident happened as the deceased, identified as Choji Zeng, was being dressed up by his brother, in preparation for burial. Family members who had participated in the washing of the corpse ran out in panic as they saw the dead Choji Zeng holding tight to his younger brother, Mr. Gyang Zeng. The pandemonium attracted mortuary attendants, who came in to separate the two brothers. The two brothers had lived together at Ungwan Juma’a abattoir in Jos metropolis. Choji Zeng, 35 years old, died after a brief illness, relations said. He was said to have suffered from a liver disease. Gyang Zeng confirmed the unusual incident to the News Agency of Nigeria. He said that after bathing his brother, he was dressing him in white cloth when his corpse grabbed his hands. He said he had to call the mortuary attendants for help. The mortuary attendants forced the dead hands off him. Relations and neighbours who witnessed the incident also confirmed it to The News Agency of Nigeria. Gyang also revealed to NAN that when the deceased held his hands, he asked him, “Choji, why did you hold my hand? Do you want me to join you, or what?” One of the mortuary attendants said it was not the first time such a thing would be happening in the mortuary. Mr. Benjamin Oche, a neighbour of the two brothers who also witnessed the incident, told NAN that before Choji’s death, both brothers had a misunderstanding. He said both of them had quarreled over the land they inherited from their parents. No foul play is being suspected in Choji Zeng’s death, however. |

This is a trying time for both families... May God grant them the fortitude to bear this great loss |

EFCC FREEZES FAYOSE’S ACCOUNT Governor protests ‘Immunity can’t stop investigation’ When a big customer physically visits a bank – in these days of online banking – something must be amiss. Other customers will make way for him and the staff will be on their toes. That was the scene yesterday in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, when Governor Ayo Fayose defied the rain to visit a bank where he demanded his statement of account. Told that his account had been temporarily frozen, His Excellency was enraged. He protested and vowed to stay put in the banking hall until the matter was resolved. He was still there at 6pm. The bankers stood their ground – that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) ordered that the account be frozen. Fayose was huffing and puffing, screaming that he had immunity and would contest the freeze. The bankers remained unmoved. The embattled governor, who spoke with reporters at the premises of the bank located on Secretariat Road, said the action was one of the moves against him by the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government. Fayose said: “I found out that the EFCC blocked my account and the accounts of some of my associates. I see this as illegal. If you want to fight corruption, fight corruption based on rule of law. “I’m a sitting governor and under Section 308 of the 1999 Constitution I enjoy immunity. “You must do anything you want to do within the ambit of law. This government has no respect for constitutional provisions. They should not be in a hurry; in 2018, I will be done. I will come to them myself. I have become a figure in this country that I have nowhere to go. “This rascality of EFCC must stop. Did they not contest election? Where did they get the funds from? Is it because they are the sitting government? “We will take every legal step to get things right; they can’t continue with this rascality. I’m not leaving this bank until they have given me a statement confirming that because on their system they said my account is restricted by the EFCC. They must put it into writing because EFCC under the law has no power to touch my property. “It is not new. I fight everyday and God grants me victory everyday. They want to destabilise this state, they want to take the state at all cost and it is not going to be possible. I’m on ground. I’m not going to shy away for life, death or incarceration. They will not coerce me and take away my right,” he said. Fayose’s personal account was frozen following clues on alleged “suspicious lodgments”, a top official of the anti-graft agency said last night. The agency said the action was part of an ongoing investigation, adding that governors have no immunity against investigation. Section 308 of the 1999 Constitution only confers immunity on governors and some public officers against prosecution, the official added. Although there were allegations that the frozen cash was about N1.3billion, the EFCC said it might released the figure today as part of its findings. EFCC spokesman Wilson Uwujaren told The Nation last night that Fayose cannot stop the anti-graft commission from doing its job. Uwujaren said: “It is true that we have frozen Governor Fayose’s acount in connection with an ongoing investigation. We will soon release the details of our findings to the public. “We froze the account because Fayose has no immunity against investigation. “Let me clarify that the 1999 Constitution does not grant immunity to governors or public officers against investigation. “The governors and others enjoying the immunity clause in Section 308 cannot be prosecuted. Therefore, Fayose cannot stop EFCC from doing its job.” Asked if the amount in the Post No Bill ( PNB ) account was up to N1.3billion as being speculated, Uwujaren said: “Certainly, some amount was frozen in Fayose’s account but I cannot say the exact amount till tomorrow (today).” A top official, who spoke in confidence, said: “It became necessary to freeze the account following clues on alleged suspicious lodgments. “We will release the facts soon to Nigerians to appreciate the extent of our investigation.” Fayose accused the EFCC of intimidating him and vowed not to succumb. A statement by his Chief Press Secretary Idowu Adelusi and a broadcast relayed on the Broadcasting Service of Ekiti State (BSES) yesterday announced the freezing of the governor’s account. The governor, who accused the President Muhammadu Buhari administration of running a “selective anti-corruption crusade”, alleged that the accounts of his political associates and followers were also frozen by the EFCC. But he did not give their names and details. He also claimed that he was not informed that he had committed any offence before his account was frozen. The governor accused some leaders of the APC and a prominent lawyer from the state of being behind the action. |

Pavarottii:If you have been opportuned to hold public before like some of us...you will know that Newspaper/ Classroom knowledge is different from reality. PMB doesn't need those people Falae mentioned. There are better unknown guys which may include you who can do the job better. But...the foundation must be there and that is what I pray that PMB will achieve for us. Nigeria will bounce back...am optimistic about that. |

War is no friend of anyone. You can predict the beginning but not the end. PDP and it's agents of division will fail. There's no ibo that witnessed biafra war that will wish to see another one. All corrupt moneybags sponsoring misguided youth will face nemesis one day. I will advise government to call a meeting of traditional rulers from the region and interpret the implications of their subjects to them in order to address it. United Nigeria is not negotiable |
Ugomba:Must APC loose like PDP before you believe that Tribunals are working? Outcome depends on the case credibility! |
It is sardonic that some misled /misinformed or corruption bred youth are still giving backing to the likes of METUH who represents the 'locusts' generation that destroyed the country with their megalomania actions. Femi Adeshina was right. METUH has nothing new to say and I challenge anyone to do 'content analysis' of his past outbursts. Buhari is cleaning up the MESS created by PDP and the likes of METUH are hell-bent in distracting him. Nemesis will soon catch up with them and their allies. Nigeria will rise again and billions of PDP destroyers and their offspring cannot stop that. They are on the way to oblivion and judgement already. Nigeria belongs to God. |
Kudos to the new faces of leaders that rescued the nation from selfish kleptomaniac elements who have hijacked our democracy for the past 16 years. I am not surprised to see their remnants who have been infected with their greed and corrupt lifestyles making silly comments about them. Whether they like it or not, admit it or not, Nigeria is now better and saver under the new administration and the era of impunity has gone while all the looters are running around to survive. They will never survive ! I will advise the young misled Nigerians who have been brainwashed by those inglorious elements of the past and who will never see anything good in this nation and the new crop of leaders to think deeply before joining those unscrupulous elements who have been sent to oblivion.Nigeria is back on the track and no power can draw us back. Nigeria will survive. All haters of justice and prudence better beware. As for those who have fast fingers to blackmail the likes of Fayemi, Fashola, Amaechi and the likes with stories from their imagination....they will fail. President Buhari is not like his predecessor who will listen to all fables and blackmail without credible and proven evidence(s). You can make allegations or even tell lie like those in the past did but it is only a court of law that can convict and until that is done, the noise is just a waste of time and your resources (data, strength, productive time etc.) From me and many like minds...Kudos to President Buhari, Amaechi, Fayemi, Fashola etc. we wish them a productive and successful time out there in USA. We miss you great leaders. |
