All these illiterates that have access to internet above commenting who has been counting the years.

You all don't deserve a 21st century existence.
Stop watching nollywood and read up on science, watch videos to understand the universe u live in..
It may not be your faults u grew up in a very religious and backward part of the world, but u are doing yourself intellectual harm by not trying to free yourselves from ignorance.

Continue asking;
How do scientist know that the earth is not flat?
How do they know the sex of a child before it is born
How did they shoot satellites into the space, why are the satellites not falling?
How did they land on the moon?
How did they know the speed of light
How did they know the diameter of the earth
How did they make telephones?
How did they know there is oil beneath
How did they estmate the ages of rock

You guys should grow up, a 12 year old child in germany or china will be disappointed seeing your ignorant way of questioning things
I have a relatively stable knowledge about science in general. I have read a lot about various galaxies, planets (beyond the traditional ones), carbon dating etc.

However, I still find some scientific claims logically hard to absorb. I need an expert in the field of radio dating to answer some questions for me.

Saying that a fossil or remains of animal survived in the soil for over 100 million years sounds illogical. In a million years (which man has no real data of), a mountain could become a plain. And an ocean could become a desert. To now say a bone survived for 80m years in the soil under microbial and chemical influence needs re-examination.

Like I said, I need to discuss with experts in this field. I need to know the "true" accuracy of carbon dating and it's flaws. To create 3D model of anything in this age and time is not hard. But there so many questions that still needs to be answered. Hence there is a limit to how you could blame anyone who doesn't blv this.

Another one again.

These companies does not make all their money in lagos state alone, there are bettors from other states, why must they be compelled to pay state licensing fee when a federal one is already in place.
What happens if every state collect 20 million naira licensing fee? They will be out of business in no time.
There is no state or other agency that controls betting in Nigeria apart from Lagos State Lottery Board. Some state dey even dey ban lottery while Lagos dey cash out in billions.

Romance › Re: Do I Tell My American Patient He's Being Scammed By A Nigerian Romance Scammer? by Powersurge: 8:03am On Aug 14, 2020
ALEX182:
So I have this American patient who I recently came across. He's a fat dude who is like in his late 40s but has a very jolly and likeable character. I introduced myself and we got talking afterwards.

After a while of chitchat, he asked me where I was from. I told him to take a guess and he said said, you sound like you're Nigerian. I told him (regrettably) that I was Nigerian. He started smiling and told me that he had a Nigerian girlfriend and that we both had similar accents.

He then started telling me recent occurrences that had befallen his girlfriend in Nigeria. He said the lastest story was that she was in Abuja and as she was on her way to the airport in a taxi, the taxi had an accident and she was seriously injured and had to be rushed to the hospital. He said that the hospital demanded money before treatment started and he had to hustle about $4000 and send to her in order for treatment to start.

He said that after a week of her being in the hospital, they wanted to discharge her despite her still being in pain. Because she had exhausted all the $4000 on treatment, he said the hospital had threatened to discharge her on the streets and he was trying to borrow more money to see if he could send it to her so they could continue with her treatments.

He furthermore told me that the girlfriend said that she was a Nigerian American citizen who was currently stuck in Nigeria due to her passport having expired and also due to Covid lockdown at airports in Nigeria. He said she had asked him for $300 to renew her US passport from American embassy in Nigeria.

Another thing that he told me was that just before covid struck, there was a similar pandemic which happened in Nigeria early this year and that his girlfriend had contracted the disease and he had to send her $2000 for treatment. Right now he said he's broke but is waiting for like $2000 disability check from the US government next week which he will send to her as soon as the money clears.

As he was telling me this tale, I was so angry with Nigerians and how they take advantage of people in love to scam them. I wanted to swear for the scammers angry

I'm at a dilemma here. Do I tell him that he's being scammed by Nigerians or do I continue to be professional and just ignore it. Because I don't want him to think I'm involved with it because these oyinbo people can turn everything on your head and accuse you that is your people in conjunction with you that are scamming him. They are that crazy.

The good part of me wants to help him but I'm hesitant that it may turn out bad for me. Please matured responses.
For the sake of everything good, please tell him. And advise him to consult a Nigerian-American professional who is into legit business over there b4 dealing with any NIgerian online.

Ordinary freelance job online you can't do successful if you have NIgeria flag on your profile. Dem don scatter things for legit hustlers finish.

Hashimyussufamao:
Death Sentence For Blasphemy At Kano: A Perspective by O. G. Chukkol

I have been following arguments on social media for the past two days about the death sentence passed on one Yahaya Aminu Sheriff for blasphemy (insulting prophet Mohammed PBH) at Kano.

Let me make few observations here:

1. There is actually a Shariah Penal Code law in Kano state

2. The said Shariah Penal Code makes provision for offences and punishments recognized in Islam

3. The Shariah Penal Code Law prohibits blasphemy and a violator risks death sentence. See section section 382 thereof.

4. The Shariah Penal Code Law of Kano applies to Muslims only

5. The Shariah Penal Code Law of Kano does not apply to non Muslims. So a Christian or any other non Muslim cannot be prosecuted under the law except if he consents to it

6. Sheriff was tried and convicted under the Shariah Penal Code Law because he was a Muslim.

7. Sheriff has the right to appeal to a higher court for his conviction to be reviewed or set aside if the trial court was wrong.

8. Governor of Kano State has the final say on Sheriff's conviction. He can pardon Sheriff and allow him go free or change the punishment or sign death warrant for Sheriff to be executed/killed as ordered by court

9. A non Muslim who insults prophet Mohammed or commits any other form of blasphemy can at best be tried under the general Penal Code law for defamation or breach of public peace or any other related offence depending on exactly what the person says

In view of the foregoing, I will completely refrain from commenting on the appropriateness of death sentence for blasphemy because it is an Islamic injunction entrenched in a written law. Besides, I may not even be objective about it because I am not a Muslim, but a Christian. I will only end up pouring my sentiment in the guise of criticism. To me, is not even logical to use my religion to condemn another religion.

I submit further, for the purpose of emphasis, that the offence of blasphemy applies to Muslims only and they are in support of it. They are comfortable with it because their religion provides for it. I cannot take panadol for somebody's headache

Had it been the offence applies to non Muslims also, I would have immediately condemned it for being unconstitutional.

It should be noted that the Shariah Penal Code was enacted pursuant to section 38 of the constitution which provides for right to freedom of religion and sections 4 and 6 of the constitution which gives states power to make laws and also establish courts for themselves and also section 36(12) which provides that person can be convicted for an offence only if the said offence is defined in a written law with sanctions attached.

That is to say, the Supreme Law of the land has given them backing. They can practice their religion provided that a non Muslim shall not be affected

Let me drop my pen here. Everything I put down here is strictly my opinion and I may be wrong.

Greetings Ladies and gentlemen

Chukkol

Apart from the barbaric nature of such law, it's just another tool for the poor. The same Sharia law recommended cutting the limbs of thiefs. I am waiting for who would de-limb Ganduje!

Secondly, any law that runs contrary to the Constitution is null and void. Blasphemy is not a capital crime. In fact, it's not a crime. It's misdemeanor. Something that would at best attracts canning. You are sentencing a human being to death for such under a democracy?

Any god or prophet or deity, that want people to kill for insulting him/her/it should be re-examined. What is the difference between good and evil if evil kills and the so called good also kill or maims?

Politics › Religion and Hypocrisy by Powersurge(op): 2:48am On Aug 13, 2020
By God's grace I have spent some decades in the world. And my time on earth has exposed me to some hypocritical behaviors from unexpected places.

I will try not to go into the other religion, the one that preach ironical peace. I have come to understand that many leaders (I don't want to mention office) in Christian-dom are hypocrites.

B4 2007, I did not used to go church. Afterwards, I became active in the things of God. But somehow, I never never...never go close to any "church leader". Not really deliberate but it's just the way I was built. It turns out that it's one of the best things that has happened to me.

Over 80% of the attitudes of hypocrites that the master condemned in the scriptures are exhibited by today's "church leaders". They have lived in it for so long that they have devised doctrines and morals around it to bolster their stance.

I work in an office (about 6 people in the office). Like I don't go close to "religious people", I don't go close to people in general except the few ones my spirit is in sync with. Hence when I got to this office, my interaction with my colleagues was only greetings and occasional discussion.

Three of them are most senior in terms of experience and duration in the company. One is just normal everyday people. The other two are chronic religious people. I am talking about blasting-in-tongues-in-the-office kind of religious people. I have never been in a worse environment than this in my life. There is no day that these people will not discuss somebody in the office. I am talking things that would make you scratch your head. And when one of them is not around, the other two would start talking about him/her. I am talking about things that your enemy wouldn't say about you. Through their discussion, I know more things about each of them than they could ever imagined. Damning things. Diverting company resources. I mean things that they do every day that they smile about, they could kill others with their words for doing 20% of it. You need to see them condemning other people who are not even as wicked as they are.

You know when a man has wicked spirit and now build religion and doctrines on it. It will take God himself to change such a man. Because he would always think he is on God's side. Jesus said (talking about religious people), "...they will kill you thinking they are doing God's business".

My neighbor is training to be a pastor. He is a good man. He is coming from the other religion that ironically preaches peace. There is this older "church leader" that stays across my house. One day the older folks calls him and told him about finding him a wife. To cut the long story short, the person under whom my neighbor is training did not approve of the matchmaking. This older church leader waylaid my neighbor on the road and told him "do you know I am a man of God? Do you think you can play me and get away with it? We will see how you will succeed. Except I am not a man of God". This is a level I cannot get to with anybody. because I set the boundaries from get go. And if devil pushed you to jump the gun... Since then this senior man has being struggling to respond to ordinary greetings from my neighbor. My neighbor called me and said, "is this what Christianity is? Is this what Christ taught?". I understood him. I just smiled.

I have seen zillion things with religious people. Some things that the Pharisees did then is not up to what some church leaders are doing now. I am not referring to babes in Christ. I am taking about seasoned church leaders.

The first thing that Jesus frowned at was hypocrisy. And in God's universe, love is bigger than spiritual gifts. People needs to be taught the virtues of God. Without which a "church leader" would be barren and only live by tricks and deceit, no matter the spiritual gifts he may have.

I have come to realize that most people that would hurt you the most are religious people. It doesn't matter how they look. If Dem like make Dem ty something on their heads that reach heaven. Godliness is not in how people look.

Family › Re: I Cause Pain To A Lot Of People by Powersurge: 9:52am On May 23, 2020
Divine89:
Hello everybody. I am Nigerian based in France. My English it is not 100% perfect but I will try to make it possible for you to understand me with the help of google french to English translator and my story is also long sorry for that.

When I was 9 years old I joined my uncle, my mum's younger brother in France. He declared me as his daughter. During that time he only had one child, 2 years old. He and the wife were so loving to me. I never lacked anything in their house.

But when I turned 12, I went to secondary school. I met some bad friends there. This is where the problem started.I became a very difficult child. I will go to school come home late. My uncle will beat and beat me but I never listened. I smoked my first cigarette at 12 and had my first sex at 13 and I started running away from home to stay with boyfriends. Sometimes I can go for a week and when uncle reporta me missing, the police will be looking for me, then they will bring me back home.

Then at 14 I went to school and lied to my teacher that my uncle was abusing me. I told them he was beating me with belts, electric wire, they don’t give me foods and I really said a lot of bad things about them doing to me to make my teacher believe my story so they could take me away from them because I wanted freedom and my teacher believed me and reported to the police and child protection, they are people who take away abused children from their parents. They took custody of me and my uncle three children, the youngest was 6 months old to their care and they gave us to this white lady to care for us and my uncle and wife were arrested for child abuse and the police were doing some investigation.

After spending 1yr 9 months in care of the white lady I dropped out school. They found out that I was a difficult child that I lied to get freedom so they have decided to give my uncle his children back to him while I stayed in care of white people but my uncle had sworn because I made him lost his children for 1yr 9 months that I will never found happiness in my life and I will never enjoy the fruit of my labour which it is true as I am typing this.

I have given birth to 6 children by 6 men and none of the children is living with me. The first one was taken away from me at 2 months old because I beat her up and fractured her hands and I also tested positive for heroinn (drugs), so that did not stop me from giving birth second child was removed from my care 4 hours after birth she also tested positive for heroin the same way my other children were removed at birth too so I carry on with my lifestyles. I did not care about my children at that time all I care about was sex, alcohol and drugs this is what I wanted and I have been to prison several times for selling drugs and fraudsters. The longest I have spent in prison was 2 years then after i left prison, I met with this sister who introduced me to this church she attended so I went along with her, the pastor told me to confess my sin to him and promised it will be a secret between I, him and God which I did repented and accepted Jesus as my saviour. To be honest, my life did changed a lot, I fell the peace in my heart , enjoyed going to church every Sunday but this pastor went tell his wife my life story and the wife told everyone in church my life story and started using it against me so it made me so angry that I left the church in November 2017 without looking back. I have decided not to attend any church again. I have stopped alcohol, taking drugs and sleeping with men I no longer do it. I prayed at home, read my bible and behaving good and it's almost 2 years I havnt slept with a man and i went to look for my uncle asking him for forgiveness but he has refused and I send him many text messages begging him to forgive and I still no heard anything from him or the wife even their children I have tried to ask them forgiveness they have blocked me and they all want nothing to do with me even my own parents and siblings in Africa they have rejected me, none of them want to talk to me, my parents said i am dead to them, it is so painful I cry everyday in my prayers, as for my children 4 of them are adopted with new family. I can't see them again maybe until they are 18 years old If they want to know me if they don't want I will have no choice to accept it and my 2 youngest children i am only allowed to see them once a year in a children play centre with someone supervise because they don't let me to be alone with them and soon I will stop visiting them because they are planning to adopt them to a new family too that will mean I will have nobody on this earth.

I regret my mistake so bad I wish I could change it but it will no be impossible. I can't have more children because they will be removed from me like the others and I am only 31years old. I don't know if my repentance was genius because my family has refused to forgive me and my question goes like this if they never forgive me will I ever found happiness again or I will just have to accept it until I died?

Please, advise me in a Christian way maybe if there's more I can do and also prayed for me so my family will be able to forgive me and also pray for my two children that nobody will adopt them so I can get custody of them and i promised to be a good mother to them, please I am begging you in the name of God.
whaoh! That was some horror you made your uncle and his family go through. Your begging can not change their minds. It will take the master himself to minister to their souls. Let it be. If there is a system to file case to get your two younger kids back, try that. You need to be going to church. You could relocate to another city. start a new life. Leave the rest to God. May light of God shines on your path. May he guide you through the rest of your journey in life. Amen!
