Good morning Mamas, happy new month..
I'm a FTM and my LO is 16 days old.

I really want to rant

Pls what do you do to a loved one who keeps giving artificial milk to my LO behind my back becos she feels in her mind, my milk supply is not equivalent to my LO demands. How will I produce more milk when they keep doing this. And this stuff irks me. And it's really difficult expressing my emotion to someone who was really there for me during my CS recovery and more. Like no matter how you explain that I want to attempt EBF, they take offense that baby isn't feeding well and so cos she gets hunger every hour( I feed her on demand) so in their mind, my breasts isn't producing enough milk. These comments give me the stress cos in my mind I feel am not doing enough but according to baby center app, it doesn't matter how long or how frequent I have to feed my LO as far as she poos well and urinate also then all is good.
Pls any recommendations on manual breast pumps, breasts pump wasn't something I wanted to get at this stage becos storage will be a bit of a challenge cos of light issue. Pls help a new mum and a FTM. I'm stressed because of these comments.i want to measure how much milk I can produce.

Had to put my feet down yesterday night when she wanted to give her milk even after breastfeeding her and putting her to sleep, she had to come with her light , touched her and that woke her up, next thing she told me not to worry I should sleep, but I knew her plan, so I kept watching her only for her to. Carry feeder, I stood up. From the bed and carried her to breastfeed.

Are you in your house?
If yes,bottles and milk can disappear temporarily. Just tie them in a black bag and under bed or box for few weeks.
At times, when you express with intent of finding how much you produce can be depressing.feed on high proteins, fluid.google to understand exclusive breastfeeding and Goodluck. Sha! Take it easier with your care giver,as people can only give what they know.

I think nutrend contains wheat wherein cerelac has many varieties.

Some couple of months ago, Aptamil was launched in Nigeria. This is to avoid illicit and unhygienic importation process. The one made for the Nigerian market has the wazobia pamphlet and is 900g instead of the 800g.
Some sellers still purchase through their old channels hence the reason why you can find both in the market.
They are both the same from same company Danone.

You can buy one bag of size 1,1bag size 2 and a bag of size 3 (midi), the amount used depends on baby.
Some poop every feed, while some don't poop in diapers.
But these quantities will help till you can restock.
I had a girl I was using about two to three diapers daily,for my son four to five diapers daily,so in week I might have exhausted close to a bag of diapers for him while for her a bag can last up to a month.
Some babies have big hips, backside while some are smaller, thus bodybuilding also determines size of diapers to use.

Though body differs,try exercising to burn off calories and push Tommy in,use Google to find exercises for after cs.
Breastfeed babies feed every two to three hours, you can express out little of the fore milk,so baby can get more of the hind milk cos breastfeeding helps with post cs healing,by contracting the womb,
Sitting down to wash clothes,help abdominal muscles too.
Make it a priority to be active,less carbs,more proteins and vegetables, liquid diet.
Good luck,even if your tummy is flat, you can be body shamed, don't let it get to you.
Delivery through vaginally is not the only criteria for flat tummy.
There was a post, you mentioned using powder on baby,stop it totally and watch the catarrh.
Shea butter or coconut oil is ok for baby.
Try any soap you like based on reviews on thread.

Take it easy and feed every three hours,while still introducing meals, family meals inclusive.

By anything,do you mean milk inclusive?If not take it slowly and find out baby preference.

I was also sceptical when given the advice but it worked excellently for me.

Whether you pump or not,it gets to a certain time the body regulates the production of milk, maybe that's how it worked. However,not pumping or breastfeeding can cause an infection.

My fellow mothers and mothers-to-be I need a little advice as I'm as confused as they come. I currently teach in a secondary school and earn a small pay. The workload is a bit much as I take three subjects.

On the other hand, I make children clothes and sometimes get a lot of orders. I currently have orders to make 23 clothes from different clients. However, most of these customers owe a lot.

Right now I combine both; sew when I get back home by 5pm and the stress is really much. My customers are complaining as I can't meet up. Some even came to collect back their fabrics. Now I'm thinking of leaving the teaching for the sewing but I'm a little scared. What if I don't get that constant flow of money (even though its little) like I do now when I leave.

I don't want to lose all my customers, but I'm just paralyzed by fear. My hubby is in support of me leaving to face my business, though.

Please all, your advice and suggestions on how to boost sale will be greatly appreciated.

My dear,if you put the energy you put in the school, into your personal business, you will be amazed how you will grow.
Let the customers pay initial deposit say 60 percent and be consistent, and sincere.
Get a school to be supplying school uniforms and accessories,good luck.

hmm my sis, the biological father is the irresponsible type, all he wants to do is show her up that she's my daughter and nothing more. Before my husband stopped him from coming to pick her anytime, he would harass us with calls that he wants to come and see as well as pick his daughter, that was before we had our baby. Limiting the visit to them means we're keeping their child away from them or trying to keep her to ourselves, we've dealt with these before and hubby was tempted to send her back to her paternal family. Just discussed with hubby now and he's super angry. He wants to confront the grandma but I told him to hold on. I don't want to blow it out of proportion so as not to attract unwanted stories that touch. We will talk to our daughter tomorrow and see what we can do. I hope this issue get resolve. Thanks sis. Please, except the girl has been tampered with,limit the number of people, you involve so that the girl will not be tagged for Life. Hopefully,it's a matter you can resolve in no distant time.

We don't believe in beating to correct, we only ground her like not taking snacks and so on though she eventually get to have them but not at the time she suppose to, that works like magic for her cos she loves them. Am just too worried for her because the scene kept playing repeatedly in my head and I cring everytime it does. Am seriously praying for wisdom to relay it to my husband so that we can get to the root of it.

If you handle it well,she will stop and may never remember it again.
The problem,I have is the child always going away alone in the name of holiday,it will slow down your efforts.
Please, try covering up when breastfeeding your baby,as she might be confused with you breastfeeding baby and telling her not to.
Also cover up properly , around her.
When you bathe her,do so privately and cover her from the bathroom,to help her understand the parts covered are private.

I ported from the pregnancy thread o and a gym. Pls I need help, my baby is 2weeks and a day old yet his cord hasn’t fallen off. We keep cleaning regularly with spirit, nothing. The tip is dried but the inside still looks fresh, and he is always in pain wen we clean. Don’t know what to do again. Any suggestions pls?

What I did was to change the brand of spirit,I was using.
Reduce the amount of water touching the cord.
Clean frequently still,and exposing the stump to natural air,sun rays in the house.
I think the doctors treat it as an issue when it has not fallen by 6 weeks.

Hello Mothers,
Has anyone ever experienced of heard of Microfilaria in a 10 mths old, and how it was managed.
The baby-sitter I brought had this Microfilaria (The blood tests I did, before letting her into my home did not reveal this).
It is said to be like an infection of tiny worms swimming in the blood, and causing severe itching. Especially at night.
I sent her home to treat herself immediately I found out after a failed attempt to treat her from scratching body, and then my baby started to fall ill frequently. Against the doctor's advice, I went for a lab test on her, and Microfilaria was found.
It causes her to itch severely, and a rash that is spreading from her armpit to her stomach, thighs, legs and hands.
The hospital I use opened up that they do not know what to administer, I left there and went to another one; they administered a combination drug Albendazole and DEC (FOR 14 DAYS).
This is the third day, and the rash/itching seem to be increasing.
I just hope I can find some form of head way here.

So sorry dear, you have to be patient with the drugs,try calamine lotion or benzyl benzoate for the itching. Rub on the skin only.
Benzyl benzoate is hot, please don't apply to baby genitals.
Use izal to clean beddings and separate the infant's clothes from the rest of house,to prevent cross infection.
