You are also wrong. UAE's economy is not built on cars and clothing as you claimed. It's economy is built on oil, tourism and financial services
Go back and read my post. What did you see in the first paragraph? Why do you think the UAE is so rich? You think it's just oil?

The bolded is what I wrote. Of course oil is important to the UAE economy but it's beyond that. The reason why I mentioned cars, chemicals, clothing, cosmetics was because that specimen I quoted asked if uae manufactured anything. I told him some of the stuff they manufacture and he's been acting stupid since then repeating the same thing like the slowpoke he is. I am glad you are not the same. wink

You know, most of you youngsters on nairaland are the reason they tag this generation a lost cause. You are ignorant and when someone points a fact out to you, you either turn it to insult or a joke, like you are doing. Just read your responses and see how childish they are: what's the name of this:that this ? An educated mind wouldn't go in that direction. That's childish and cheeky .

A sensible person would use their internet to find out if the said country is truly a manufacturing hub or not. Not every line should be reduced to a subject of argument.

Why do you think they're so rich? You think it's just oil?

UAE manufactures and exports chemicals, cars, clothing's, in fact one of the richest cosmetics companies in the world and the maker of one of the world's costliest perfumes is in UAE. They're very busy people not your usual Muslim country.

We Yorubas like to deceive ourselves. Love of education has declined seriously across Yorubaland. It's not as if the Ibos have done anything special but their edge can be easily explained. Ibos are mainly christians and that's one religion that lays unquestionable emphasis on literacy. In church you read hymns, you read the Bible, there are tracts, announcement program sheets and a whole lot more. So it's not difficult to understand that largely christian society has the tendency to be ahead in education. We had a headstart with our location as Yorubaland. Missionaries got here first and the British established themselves in Lagos and its close regions early.

But with increasing number of ibos embracing Christianity they quickly caught up. We have a lot to do. Check out the out of school children in SW, you will discover that the highest proportion of them are from Muslim homes and polygamous homes. Our Islamic clerics needs to look up to the likes of Bahrain, Quatar and UAE for guidance for development of their faithfuls , and not hardline societies like Iran, and Afghanistan.

True and false..For the pdp years $ was 120- 200.. what happened ? Of course our naira will be supported by cbn reserves cos 90% of our fx inflow is by crude which is mainly govt.. d IOCs repatriate most of theirs... so who else do u expect to supply $ to the market if not govt ? Now, by 2020, our production had really dropped and fx wasn't coming in as b4, so d supply of $ was from previous $ in d reserves and loans--that was d problem...Now with govt doing loan repayments and importing fuel they have nothing to supply d market hence d astronomical increase to N1,600
But can there be a positive difference now that oil price has risen and our production is going up?

Hello everyone, I've been following the thread recently. Funmi Adams' songs really had an impact on some of us that grew up in the 80s and 90s. I really hope she is happy and in good health, it is more than she deserves for inspiring a generation.
Are there any leads on her rumoured return back to Nigeria?
This thread brings back fond memories of my childhood in the 80s and early 90s. The local songs we listened to were great, not like the mostly empty rhymes our singers push out today for our children to hear. This thread about Funmi Adams reminds me of another female singer of the time, Bunmi Olajubu( Bata re a dun ko ko ka, Save Nigeria Today, etc.)

Slavery mentality undecided

Why can't it go lower than ₦260?

SA's rand is close to a dollar, those it mean that their individual earnings hasn't improved for 9years, according to your dumb narrative?

You Nigerians don't have brains to think, always cherish your chains and defend your oppressors. And fight those trying to free you from oppression.

Y'all deserve the useless leaders you get. undecided
You are not very intelligent. The Nigerian economy produces very little. That's why the naira is weak. It's been weak for decades but dumb leaders have been borrowing money against your life and those of your children born and unborn to prop up the naira. Now it fell to over #1000 because someone removed the props. Now if we start producing aggressively and you also join instead of sitting on your lazy fat arse, then naira will start appreciating, but not by wishful thinking.

Study South Africa's economy and see how it has always been more productive than Nigeria's.

Naira is undervalued. People with hidden dollars are now bringing them out. After devaluation, Naira should rate 800n to a dollar. With more stringent supervision and new policies by 25th from MPC of CBN, Naira to dollar will be around 1200n to dollar. Recapitalisation of DMB is also on the way. This will tighten banking supervision. Dollar is coming down. Saboteurs are on their heels. Those financing terrorism and BTC vendors are also on the run. If you are sabotaging Nigeria economy and speculating forex you will nose dive under BAT government. The man is not smiling at all.
What do you think can be done about this current food inflation? Do you think it's speculation too? Right now things are scary.

grin sure, same for color. u have to be blind to see a black man and say there is no black skin or there is no white. or Japanese is not yellow or that native Americans are not red, Blind arguments. is chalk the standard definition of white? The human teeth is white, snow is white, limestone is white, clouds are white, paper is white, cotton is, bones are white even milk is white. bottom line? ? There are different shades of white
No skin is white. It's just a tag for people with pale skins or light skin. You've given many examples of shades of white. Maybe you should show us someone whose skin color is same as limestone white for example, or bone white. grin

I didn't say people don't have colours. But white and black? No.
When you see a tall or short person you can easily identify those unless you are blind. But show me the image of someone whose colour is that of a piece of white chalk.
Nairaland GeneralRe: What Is The Essence Of This Life? by predictor1: 11:55am On Mar 20, 2024
Krismas:
grin we saying the same thing. You don’t know colors. Hence you say human color cannot be easily determined. To be Fair-Skinned is not the same as White-skinned. Fair skin is a shade of brown. Africans are predominantly black or brown, with every shade in-between. Only Albinos are white in Africa and it’s pigmentation complication. Asians are either Yellow or white. Then up in the Americans, u find Red people. No doubt humans are colored. But color alone is not what defines a race. Africans are known to have flat nose and kinky hair. Scandinavians noted for height. Asians noted for smallishness and slanted eyes. etc
No one is white-skinned. Or black skinned. Those are just definitions the West throws around. They called japanese yellow for centuries, now they are white by the west's definition.
