the money apc is paying to defend rubbish. that money will lead to your downfall.
it will never be well with you... ase!
I mentioned Obi because we know only an Obi fanboy could be this butthurt.

I pray for you instead. God will cure you of your misfortune if you stop hating and cursing people who God has blessed. It is very well with me already. If it is well with you, you wouldn't be cursing up and down. grin It shows your life is hard.

He campaigned for the former CEO to be re-elected despite being a disaster, you forgot to add that part. He was shut out of power when he wanted to replace the former CEO who had his own candidate
He was shut out during buhari's first term and second term. You all rejoiced then. I remember how you danced around because emefiele hoarded naira notes then thinking Tinubu's ambition was over. You said his hands and legs were shaking yet he was shouting emilokan. Has God not shamed you people enough? Your new practice now is to wish him failure. That's something God again will turn to blessings for the country. But others will not forget your treachery. When you bring out a candidate next time others will work against him also.

The new CEO was also the chairman of the board when the former CEO was making wrong policies, and while this was happening, the new CEO lied to shareholders for 8 years that the former CEO was doing a good job, only to replace him and run the company to the ground further.
How was the new CEO chairman of the board when he was shut out of the corridor of power? Have you forgotten how you mocked him then?

Your candidate came last. He is not known in the core north. He has realized his mistake, that's why you see him going from mosque to mosque. He is not as stupid as the followers.

PoliticsRe: Why I Ignored Labour Party National Convention — Peter Obi by predictor1:
ForensikOrder:
Hey there,

Thanks for sharing this update about Peter Obi's stance on the Labour Party's recent national convention. It's quite interesting to see him take a step back because of what he perceives as a lack of wide consultation with key stakeholders by the party leadership. It's a bold move, isn't it?

Peter Obi's focus on building a "new Nigeria" rather than just concentrating on the party's restructuring speaks volumes about his priorities. It seems like he's advocating for a more inclusive approach to decision-making within the party, which could really shake things up in terms of how things are traditionally done.

What's your take on this? Do you think his approach could lead to positive changes within the Labour Party and potentially influence the political landscape in Nigeria? I'm curious to hear your thoughts!
He has just said it in 'unclear terms ' that he would soon leave for another party again.
He's inconsistent. Obasanjo, Jonathan, Buhari, Tinubu are all people who were serious about the conditions of their parties and directly involved in the affairs of such parties unlike Obi who scornes his own parties.

Yes I agree tinubu is running a bad government, but let's not pretend that 1982 to 2006 was a good time.

Even the times of the oil boom , we had a large poor underclass

You want a good government, get out and vote in one that would take us off oil dependent nature

Not everything is about your side
No, it wasn't. Nigeria has always had a large proportion of poor people but at least people could afford food and they were not this terrorised.

Food was cheap and we had steady power supply. I grew up in a neighborhood called Eleyele in Ibadan. In the late 80s up till the late 90s we didn't just enjoy steady power supply, we had public water too. Now there's hardly anything like public water supply anywhere in Ibadan.

There were instances of hardship but nothing prolonged like what Nigerians have experienced in the past 8 years or thereabouts.

About Tinubu's government, I believe the policies he has taken are the sort of policies that can enable the bolded.
We've deceived ourselves for decades wasting our oil revenues on subsidies and artificially propping up the naira crazily. Now, we have the chance to invest our savings in real things. That's if corruption doesn't block the way as before.

Well the above comment is a comment I respectfully disagree with

The USSR was an atheist society which collapsed in 1991, while the USA has had too much religion, and yet it is strong.

The simple reason why the USA has outlasted the USSR is simple. Free markets . Things are sold at a profit in the USA meaning there is more than enough money for innovations.

Here in Nigeria we try to live as if we are the USSR.

For examples we sell electricity power at a loss in the name of helping the poor or providing equity or something like the USSR did. That's nice but at the end the power companies cannot make a profit and thus cannot fund things like

1. Power for industrial development and production

2. Money for local inventions and innovations that would improve our power supply

Unlike the USA where you have power companies that make a profit and use it to buy from local electronic companies which funds their growth

That's how Edison and Alex Bell founded companies that revolutionized the USA.

Here in Nigeria , at independence, we had two choices. Run a free market and industrialization project which means like south Korea and china a lot of suffering for a generation or two before benefits come in, or run welfarist projects at subsidise rate, with a lot of loan taking when local revenues are poor. Because at independence we had a large poor population and a tiny rich population. We chose the welfare route

And that has led to massive loans and debts and corruption. Like the old USSR.it tends to happen with money sharing for equity economies. And it breeds poverty and economic ruin and leads to people falling vicitim to get rich quick schekmes of the secular (MMM) and religious variety

( And if not for religion a lot of us won't have gotten educated or even had the tools we have for industrial development. Even in atheist countries)

The best way for Nigeria to run well is to allow the free market do it's thing. And also enforce tax collection. Alongside accountability and freedom form corrupt rule. That way we would eventually have a society that we can be proud of.

Blaming religion is just lazy really.
Brilliant

For folks like me, it's about how your side and their side miss the point.

Good evening. And don't call me a liar again.
But you told a lie. Because it wasn't like that in the 90s and 2000s. Nigeria's economy boomed in the 2000s, starting from 2001. In 1993 it was a bit rough because of sanctions against Abacha.

It actually restores confidence that prevents citizens from buying dollars since they know FX just came in.
Of course. I think the removal of fuel subsidy has actually helped the naira. There's less pressure on the naira now.

The professor analyzed that the intrinsic value of the Cedi
remains around GH₵10,000 to GH₵11,00 per USD.
He explained, “1USD = 11 Cedi today. Sure, that old magic
achieved something, if not 1 USD will be about 100,000 Cedi
today. So, the magic saved people time from writing long
digits.
“More so, it has reduced greenhouse emissions since
cheque books, bank forms, etc may not need to be longer.
How do you write $10,000,000 if 1 USD would have been
100,000 Cedi? On that, you commend the genius in Ghana.”
Recall that at the peak of Zimbabwe’s inflation in 2015,
Zimbabwean bills were exchanged for U.S. dollars at the rate
of 175 quadrillion Zimbabwean dollars for every $1.

just a combination of factors there's a 2 billion dollar Eurobond debt payment which eased a lot of investors, investor confidence is up thus higher FDI inflows,
increased tourism inflows, political stability and reduced insecurity has also cooled down currency speculation, good harvest, rains and a fertilizer subsidy program in the previous season has reduced the food import bill. another factor Kenya's exports were up in the last quarter of 2023 as the weakening of the Kenyan shilling last year made the country’s products competitive in international markets, higher diaspora remittances...

the kenyan government also has also got into arrangement with key trade partners to do trade in local currencies without using the US dollar
including government to government deals to purchase oil products without putting pressure on USD reserves.

a number of global organizations and regional embassies have set up their headquarters in Nairobi including some UN agencies hence the thousands of foreign employees working in Kenya bring in a lot of foreign exchange

Ethiopias recent civil war has shifted the investor attention in east africa back to kenya

if all factors remain constant its to be a great year for the kenyan economy.
I knew it was not just the Eurobond. Thanks. But Nigeria is coming up too. There's been a sharp appreciation in the value of the naira.

Nigeria promoted her early at the very beginning. She was on NTA to promote her first book, purple hibiscus. Then the book was put on WAEC reading list. Many of us bought that book when it came out. I'm sure it must have sold millions of copies in Nigeria alone making her very rich. Then her second book was made into a movie by a Nigerian director.

If Nigeria issues a 2 Billion dollars Eurobond today, Naira would be 900 in no distant time as well. This is what we did in 2017 and 2018. Naira that was going over 500 went back to around 365 and stayed there until COVID.
Eurobond alone can’t stabilise FX rate but it is normally a huge propeller.
Nigeria is going to issue an Eurobond in the second quarter.
