GeneralDae: Analysts on the Nigerian Economy:
"High domestic inflation rates projected for Q1-Q2 2024, but potential relief in Q3 with asset sales or leases, likely boosting GDP growth to 2.9-3.1% by year-end. Analysts foresee a stronger economic trajectory compared to 2023". You mean to say prices are bound to go higher between now and June? Right now the economy is growing but the masses can't feel it. And what do you mean by stronger economic trajectory by year end? Is it that the masses Will feel the pinch less by then? |

jazzman7711: Who sold their “brothers and sisters”?
Which history book did you read that one?
Ignorance.
War captives who would normally have been exiled or killed were simply sold off when there was demand by foreigners for labour.
Nobody went about “selling their brothers and sisters”.
In Europe at the same time they would fight wars and simply massacre their captives, so which was better? Selling or killing? The African slave trade, both transatlantic and trans Saharan was the worst form of slavery in the history of the world. You are the ignorant one. The Africans didn't just wage wars to subdue their neighbors, they waged wars to capture slaves who were sold to Arabs and Europeans! The Europeans encouraged them in the beginning but later joined in these slave raids. In the end it was the same Europeans who had to force the Arabs and the African kings to stop the trade. King Gezo in Dahomey was particularly wicked, same with the Niger Delta kings and the fulanis. |

Blazetrailer: Lol...that last line shows that you do not understand how things work.
Nigerian govt. can not resist borrowing. in fact, the main reason Tinubu is running from pillar to post to Arabian countries even when they don't want him is to seek for foreign loans/investments. NIGERIA IS ILLIQUID!!! The little money you see circulating in the economy is the ways and means(free currency printing) granted by Emefiele. No inflow is coming from Oil sale(the oil production for next 18 months have been used as futures/derivates). Whatever the govt is calling inflow from recent publications are portfolio investment that will have to be taken out of the country by their investors. This current government might have no other option than to turn to the ways and means that they have been badmouthing recently. The subsidy is back, even bigger that it was despite the government being hush about it. No foreign organisation wants to grant Nigerian loans because the feel the reforms were not well implemented. Now, let's say you were the president, what would you do? Things are getting scarier. |

immortalcrown: You are insincere and illogical for calling undeniable facts mantras. Fuel price increased by more than 200%. Rice price increased by more than 100%, likewise many other commodities. Keep living in denial. Until you prove that ₦1,000 can afford right now more than what ₦300 could afford in the past, you are just a sentimentalist. You are one of the people destroying this country. Even when fuel prices increased by about 300%, transport costs didn't increase by 300% because that's not how the economy works. You still have not told us how much you were buying your one cup of rice in December compared to now. |
Politics › Re: Wickedness Of some Nigerians. by predictor1: 10:51am On Mar 10, 2024 |
immortalcrown: Fuel price increased from ₦187 to ₦600 per litre, Rice increase from ₦35,000 to ₦75,000 per bag. Ice fish that cost less than ₦500 then now costs more than ₦1,000. The list can go on. Each price here increased by more than 100%. Deny this or admit you are trying to use sentiment against facts.
Join them in the business to know their net profit after expenses. You calculate the cost price per bag of sachet water as the only expense the retailers make.
My response to your first paragraph already counters this.
You were unable to explain how the current cost of living justifies or negates your claim. I have done it for you. I am waiting for your next response. It is just annoying that you beat around the bush in your responses. Let me respond to you quickly. I was going to ignore you but I sense you are smarter than the other one who is a complete monkey. That one doesn't deserve a response. Let me ask you, since we are using water as an example. How much was a bag of water before it went to #300? It was #200. The increase was 50%. A satchet was #20. If you sell it for #50 now, that's an increase of 150%. Can you justify that beyond repeating the same mantra that price of a cup of rice has gone up. I don't buy cup of rice, so how much were you buying your cup of rice in December compared to now? Since that's what you want to use as a reference point. Did it go up by 150%. Many of your fellow "pure water" sellers are still selling at two for #50. That's #25 naira for one. If the pure water Hawking thing is not profitable enough, find something else to do instead of ripping stranded people off. |

immortalcrown: Is the ₦1,000 outrageous as profit, considering the current cost of living? Why have you been dodging my question of the price differences between a few months before Christmas and now? Answer the question let us see if the increase in sachet water retail profit is higher than the increase in cost of living. Why have you been dodging the challenge of using the current cost of living to show how ₦1,000 is too much? Maybe you can help us with the rate at which cost of living has increased. Then let's juxtapose. Nobody is saying they should not increase prices but is #600 profit on a bag of water you bought at #300 not crazy? Considering the fact that profit margins on most provision items are traditionally low. You may ask around if baffled. |
Politics › Re: Wickedness Of some Nigerians. by predictor1: 7:37am On Mar 10, 2024 |
immortalcrown: You have not presented any fact against my comment. You could not prove what I asked you to prove. The conclusion of my point is that the current cost of living justifies the increase in retail prices of things, and you have not been able to debunk the point. You are just responding with too many unnecessary sentences. Your responses are not focused on debunking my claims. Let me break it down for everyone. . We still have people selling at 2 satchets for #50. If what you have in a bag are 20 satchets . If you divide #300 by 20 it gives 15naira. You ice it and all that. That should give a figure of around #17 #17 * 20= #340 Selling at 50 naira each gives #1000. That's a difference of about #660 per bag. If you sell at two for #50. That's #25 for a satchet. That's #500 and a profit of #160. Now you people should judge if (a) #660 profit on a bag is too much. (b) if #160 profit on a bag is not too small. |

socialmediaman: There’s this 80 - 20 rule in business (also called the Pareto principle) which states that 80% of consequences come from 20% of causes.
If this rule is applied theoretically in this case, it means that politicians not doing their jobs is the cause of most of the problems in the society. A single issue like corruption alone can result in 90% of the problems in Nigeria, and it’s because law enforcement has refused to do their jobs
Focus on your politicians if you want to solve the country’s problems.
If law enforcement and politicians in advanced countries become as corrupt as Nigerian politicians, and citizens like you focus more on their fellow citizens instead of politicians, those countries will become like Nigeria with time You are educated in the real sense of it . |

pussyphilia: Ladies should stop hating or disrespecting their husbands because another man is fvccking them. It is the fear of humiliation, hatred or even poisoning by the lady that makes men to overreact by killing themselves or the woman when he notices that she's cheating. Ladies can help stop this by learning to remove emotion when having sex with men who ain't their husbands just like polygamous men and sugar daddies do. These men catch their fun with other women and still love and respect their wives at home. Why can't cheating wives do the same Let your husband know that you still gat him even though other guys are doing you. The fear of losing your love and respect can make the man do the unthinkable. Men should stop attaching their heart and life to what their wives do with other men! One of the things we must live with in this modern world is that women's sexuality has evolved. So, let's stop attaching tradition and rubbish to it. As a man, you can even condition your mind to enjoy the sight of your wife getting fvccved by others nigga right on you matrimonial bed. It's called cvckoldery and white men enjoy the practice.
