Hello,
Please my husband has been trying to open a UK bank account with our Tenancy agreement as proof of address but they are not accepting it. They require a utility bill from the government but our rent is Bill's inclusive. Please what's the way out of this as the job he is applying for requires him to have a uk bank account?

I am just hearing this, does one need the NI number to get a job under student Visa? My husband has been applying for few jobs and they havent asked for such yet.
Aminess1:
Good evening brother’s and sister’s, God bless you all for your helpful tips .
I’m new here in Leicester with my family, we moved to our rented flat yesterday and now applying for jobs (support work ) I’ve received two calls from my application and both asked if a have care giver experience and I said No and they told me to do volunteer jobs for three months before I start application. I don’t have DBS and NI-NUMBER ( I’ve applied for NI number and only have registration number) .
Please how is the best way to start work ASAP for my husband and I ?
Please pardon me if this has been sorted out before .

Please I arrived on Thursday and did my day 2 test on Saturday but the result is not yet out. Has anyone had a similar experience?

I am back again guys, we called the NHS number and they said my husband should keep taking paracetamol till his test result is out. Today is day 6 and we havent gotten our day 2 covid test yet. I feel he needs to physically see a doctor but they said it's not an emergency yet. Please is there a special way to check the result cos the instruction says they will send it to our email.

Call the ambulance or emergency it is your right. Its even the quickest way to see a doctor. Or You can go to the hospital emergency section.

Sorry about that, could be malaria. There shouldn't be, but be clear to the NHS on the type of visa you have when registering because one wanted to slam us with bill as private before GP registration.

Hello guys,
My husband and I came into the UK on Thursday, he started feeling sick on Saturday and not getting any better even after taking malaria treatment. Our day 2 covid result is not back yet but i plan to call 999 regardless. Is there any implication if I do? What is the worst that can happen please?

I already paid for expert medicals before I read their awful review, they sent a message that they will deliver in 2 days time after I paid and I tried tirelessly to reach them so they can hold on with the delivery cos my trip was still about 3 weeks away but that was impossible. I then had to call the management of the hotel I will be staying in and they helped me pick the test kit. Owing to that, I used Dante lab for my husband thinking they will deliver the kit when we arrive but they also delivered it few days after, I guess most providers deliver immediately you order.
Optimally:

Good evening preshyi, please which test provider did you book for your day 2 and day 8 test and have they delivered or when do they plan to

I appreciate
fetomowo:
Basically,
Passport
BRP letter.
CAS letter/Offer letter.

You may include any receipt showing you have paid for accomodation, or something to indicate where you will be staying. (this is not compulsory) if you have none. Insist on the school address if you are asked.

Extra luggage is per suitcase not per kg. With limit allowed

Oversized bags have a different fee and limit.

Hard copies for all.

1.Please how much does extra luggage cost via BA? I have checked online and seen some figures but I am not sure if it is per kg or per 23kg bag.
2. For those that have travelled already, do I need to print out any document or are the soft copies enough?

Well, my first degree was in law but I opted for HRM cos I have work experience in that field and i felt twas more viable getting a degree. My interest is basically in the employability aspect, are HR jobs Available in the UK? Is that part of the reason why you wouldn't want to go into the field now?
TheGuyFromHR:

Anyone with a generic education can start off in HR, or take a couple of CIPD qualifications if they wish.
This is not to discourage anyone, just to point out that a master's degree in the field does not necessarily confer an advantage.

Travel / Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by Preshyi: 12:00am On Aug 19, 2021
Kinda noticed that no one is talking about taking a postgraduate course in law as well. What do you mean when you say useless??
TheGuyFromHR:

An MBA hasn't got much value; it's now almost as useless as an LLM for lawyers.
Experience always counts for way more.
Given your husband's current career and associated experience, why doesn't he apply for something in his field or related thereto?
Travel / Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by Preshyi: 10:46pm On Aug 18, 2021
I would like to know more about this please. Why do you say so?
TheGuyFromHR:

If I were taking a masters in 2021, I wouldn't take a masters in HR again.

Haa! So we wey dey go do Human resource management dey go waste money?

Mentioned doing sensible courses o the other thread but it seems many people are looking at japa and not planning the end of the japa itself

They'll probably delve into other fields later most likely though

IT/Health care na in sure pass as of now

Well, I think that getting a gtb dollar card is more complicated than this. They said its 5 working days and I am even yet to get a pickup message since last week monday abi only my own took that long?
binarycodes:
You need to use a Dollar master card to pay. Barter won't work. if u have anyone the amount of dollar open a dom account, request for a dom card. i think GTB can do this in a day or 2 then use that card to pay

Greetings, does anyone have a comprehensive checklist for a student travelling to the UK? of course apart from my travelling documents and certificates.

I'm looking for a checklist to work with in terms of things to bring along. I'm just overwhelmed and help here would be highly appreciated.
