Please if you earn about 1.3m salary a year but have a personal saving of over 5m from other hustles. Will that raise eyebrows in your Visitor visa application?

Thanks Lexus, I get the point.
But sharing apartment is not an option cos it's for a couple. That central london go choke o.
Lexusgs430:

To be honest none ........ Affordable is a subjective term ........

If you work in central london, you don't want to live too far..... So when you leave for work, you save £'s, but loose time, only for saved £'s to be consumed by transport fare ....... grin

Ideally, you might pay higher rent, but save money on transport....... You might even be able to cycle to work .......

So, the ultimate choice is yours........ Your best bet might be sharing an apartment, with a colleague.......

Please where are the affordable places in terms of rent that someone that got a job in central london can stay and commute easily. It's an NHS job just in case it comes with any housing discounts . Suggestions will be highly appreciated

Sorry about that. Seems there is an outbreak cos my Sis and her family all got it this past week. The hospital recommended PCM and Calamine lotion but I am not sure they were able to get it from a pharmacy cos twas scare. I guess you can look for that.

Urgent appeal
My kids came home with chicken pox from their school. I have now been infected and its is really gross. I know 7KEYS ALLADIN is Very common in Nigeria to treat such as I had called NHS and the local doctor. It is long story of take PCM and it will go.
Some african (Nigerian) shops do sell some of these stuffs. Is there anyone who knows a naija shop that sells 7keys Alladin and can help me courier it today. I am desperately in need as NY face and entire body is badly affected. I ordered one from Nako General Foods. Paid on 19th and till now, the items have not been shipped. Terrible.
I just desperately need a medication that cure me as fast as possible.

Thank you, my husband disconnected from the house wifi and it opened on his phone. It still wont let me in tho even after I did same.
domin8:

Look at the error message, your request was blocked by their firewall that is why you can't access it.

You will also see that you have a Proxy IP stated there which is most likely a VPN on the internet you are using.

You can try using your phone as a hotspot and connecting it to your laptop and test to see if that works.
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Preshyi: 8:51am On Jul 17, 2022
Got that. Thank you
giselle237:
no one said so. you gave 2 scenarios… one of applicant’s child is on Tier 4 and the other child Tier 2.. you were advised in this case that the tier 2 who is the worker do the IV and paperwork, however anything can go… what matters is applicant’s strong ties to home country and personal circumstances in order to have a chance of success of getting a visitor visa.
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Preshyi: 9:22pm On Jul 16, 2022
Thanks. But does it mean someone on student Visa cant invite their parents over if I can provide the needed documentation?
giselle237:
unfortunately I can not say.. if all are worried.. then delay the application
Travel / Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by Preshyi: 8:45pm On Jul 16, 2022
VPN? no I am not.

See the error message I keep getting even on my husband's browser. Did you click on the start now button to see if it works?
domin8:

Check that you are not trying to access it while using a VPN. It will always give errors. The site works fine https://www.gov.uk/book-driving-test

Please how were you able to even access the website to book a date or check other locations? It's been showing error message for over a week now. or is there a special way to get into the driving test website?
ELff:
Please people of God, been trying to get a date for my practical driving test in Warwick but I can't seem to find one. I have checked up till next year June and still can't find a date. I booked a date in another center far from me, one of these villages in the hope to use these canceling apps to book a date and centre of choice but it's been a month now and nothing from gov.uk site and the cancelation apps either.

Seems like Warwick. Coventry, Birmingham and Nuneaton are fully booked.

Please any advise on how to move forward will be appreciated. This non driving is really limiting me.

Thanks for this well detailed response. I appreciate the help. However, my sister on Tier 2 sent a letter of invitation to one of my sisters and her family last month but is not providing feeding or accommodation for them. Will it raise eyebrows if she invites my mum just in a space of 1 month?
giselle237:
if you want your mom to sponsor herself… still let your tier 2 sister invite her… meaning send her an invitation that she is coming to visit her and would be providing accommodation and feeding. Then your mom would be responsible for the the cost of trip excluding accommodation and feeding.
Your sister will provide birth certif, her brp, her passport, her tenancy agreement, family photos and a well written invitation letter.
Funds and bank statement will then be provided by your mom to support herself
I am saying this because you are there on tier 4 and your sister is on tier 2… what kind of tourism will she claim she is coming for without seeing/visiting her 2 children? Sounds strange
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Preshyi: 7:51pm On Jul 11, 2022
Thanks for responding. I mean is it a bad option if she applies on her own without being invited. My sister is not financially stable to sponsor her as she just moved to the UK
gistbite:

Let your tier 2 VISA sister invite. It's still a visiting/tourist visa she will be given either way
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Preshyi: 3:02am On Jul 11, 2022
Hello all,
I am new here and hope I am not asking an already discussed question. I have gone to the first page to look for the visa requirements but couldn't see a comprehensive checklist like in the student thread. I am on a student visa here in the UK and would like my mum to visit. I have a sister on the tier 2 visa in the UK as well. My mum has a good travel history but to U.S,never been to the UK before. She is a civil servant and is financially okay.
Is it a better option if she applies as a tourist or should she apply that I am inviting her?

I will appreciate any advice I can get please.

Yes, so if you need your documents urgently within some weeks then dont submit.

Oh!
One has to submit the BRP and int’l passport? shocked
Travel / Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by Preshyi: 10:17am On Mar 30, 2022
The instruction behind the form shows you dont need to fill out that part. I just submitted with BRP and international passport.
Uzorp:

I have applied for mine and paid the fees, how did you get around the section 2 on the form (Getting someone with a photo are license to identify you )
Thank you
Travel / Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by Preshyi: 12:51pm On Mar 21, 2022
It was discussed that for quick return of BRP and provisional license,

1. Disregard or discard or shred the pre-addressed envelope sent with your form

2. Address your post to

FAO Lee Jones
Head of Vehicle input services
DVLA
Longview Rd
Swansea
SA6 7JL

3. Watch your BRP and PDL come back swiftly

Tried and trusted; still works

Use the services that would give you percentage of acceptance.

For some cards, you will see that you have been pre-approved. That means you have a 99.999999999999 chance of getting it if you apply.

For some, you see 80%, 70% or 50% etc.... for some, you will be outrightly told you cant get it, dont bother.
Travel / Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by Preshyi: 11:45pm On Mar 15, 2022
I tried to check and can see so many cards. Please what do you need to look out for before choosing a credit card? Is it the interest rate?

Do you work full time or part time? It says I’m ineligible, maybe because of my earnings.

We moved in to the first available apartment cos hotel bill was draining our pocket. We didn't want it to be a longterm apartment but changed our mind midway atleast till I finish school.

The buying house part dey the agenda o. How we go do am?
Lexusgs430:

The exact reason, it makes sense to sign a long term contract.......

And before expiration, you should hopefully have bought your own house ........

Did I hear you say how . ........... wink

I would like to do the latter but dont know if it will put my guarantor in trouble. Thanks for your input

You can refuse but be ready for a section 21 whilst they can still use it. A good way of refusing could be showing comparables (dicey as rents are at record high rates), suggesting that as you've been a good tenant, it'll be good to be rewarded with some predictability for 12 months or so. You can also choose to ignore it and continue paying the old rent

Someone else has suggested the volunteering thing but I really dont know how to go about it. I have searched online but the closest I have seen is part time roles. Will appreciate any suggestion please.
Amarathripple0:

Focus on your Previous roles in HR. Also you can get a job as a Volunteer HR personnel to boost your advantage of getting a job in HR over here. It really helps.

You will need employment references so if this will be from the support/retail roles, you'd have to include them.

Please when applying for jobs in my field (HR), Is it necessary to include the support work and retail roles I have done so far or should I just focus on my Previous HR roles in Nigeria. Dont want my Cv to look clumsy.

Okay, he plans to do that cos it seems it keeps increasing each month and this is his second month with the new employer.
Hwy9:

He should raise it with his employer. He is definitely in the wrong taxcode. His employer should have an HMRC form to be filled. I think he should resolve internally before calling HMRC. I experienced same recently and it was resolved. (A mail to payroll/Finance team should do).
