MuttleyLaff:Why will anyone who names the name of Christ proclaim he endorses homosexualism? God does love the world (saint and sinners) but he doesn't condone sin, you understand that right? We are to love them regardless just as we are to love every one else as ourselves. It is that love that will provoke us to pray for them, just as we hate to see what the devil has made out of God's perfection. I was committing immoralities just as bad as homosexuality. I won't therefore say God loves my immoral ways, even though he still loved me as a sinner. However it grieves Him that I was on the path of destruction and I was corrupting others and spreading immorality. God is always, a God of righteousness. That is His Nature and He never changes that for anyone. Jesus Christ sat with sinners preaching salvation to them. |
elated177:Thanks for your observation. I won't contravene the Word of God just to agree with anyone. @least not to my knowledge. I can only try to understand the person's perspective. The scriptural truth remains that the Letter is different from the Word of God. The Letter kills until it becomes revealed by the Holy Spirit, then it gives Life. Which is why Arise! could simply have no effect while the same Word by the Holy Spirit would produce a Miracle! This is also analogous to the fact that man born of flesh is different from man born of the Spirit. The question therefore is, does that stop the Man (whether born of flesh or Spirit) from being a child of God? If I may paraphrase- Are we all children of God, irregardless of being born of Spirit (born again) or born of flesh? |
budaatum:What if I had asked you to go back to the first chapter of the first book of the bible, Genesis? Cos that would seem like nursery but it is one of the best explanations of the Trinity of God. If you truly seek to understand Christ, you don't decide the curriculum, the Holy Spirit does. And he uses whoever He wills. Please don't misconstrue that I am condescending for I am simply describing God's Way. He who wants to see the Kingdom of God must come as a babe, who is willing to humbly learn. But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 19:14. Please, watch the video. |
budaatum:Ok. Perhaps you should consider the understanding of the Trinity of God. That helped and still helps me a lot. This message below along with other teachings helped my understanding. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mx130WPj1pA |
MuttleyLaff:Patience brother, we are all growing sir. He only seeks to understand. Grace to us all. |
budaatum:I do understand your position. Because truly ,understanding before believing is critical as it gives us conviction. But as Muttley has rightly said, that's what Faith is. We are Christians today nor because we understood nor even understand fully what the goal of Christianity is because it's an everlasting journey. But we believed first, and we're now seeing that goal which is the Kingdom of God and the Excellence of His Glory all embodied in the knowledge of Christ Jesus. On that premise, you see that contrary to the way the world works, we do not see (understand) before we believe. We See because we now Believe. That is how the Just live by Faith. However seeking to understand is important but it is preceded by Believing. Understanding comes by the Holy Spirit, once we believe in God through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour- the Wisdom of God. |
budaatum:You've rightly said. Remember I distinguished the Bible (Scriptures) from the Word of God. The Bible is the letter (logos). While the Word of God is when the Holy Spirit broods on the letter to give us His Understanding. That is when the Word is made flesh and Christ is formed in us. This is why, The Letter kills but the Spirit gives Life. It is only the Holy Spirit that gives understanding to Simple (humble) Minds. |
MuttleyLaff:Well said sir. Thanks a lot MuttleyLaff |
budaatum:Ok. Glad you said that. God is faithful. |
budaatum:If you submit to the Word of God, then you will agree even without fully understanding it. This Scripture says it all. 1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory. |
budaatum:Lol Isn't Jesus Christ God? The Scriptures (Bible) could become an idol though as theologians often become puffed up in knowledge as the Pharisees and Scribes who ended up crucifying the Saviour they had been reading and teaching about. |
Idolatry: Dictionary meaning: -The worship of idols. -The excessive admiration of somebody or something. An Idol by inference means; -Whatever/Whoever we exalt more than God knowingly or unknowingly. --Whatever/Whoever we prioritize over every thing else. -Whatever/Whoever we can do anything for. -Whatever/Whoever we cannot do without. Answer this simple question; Who/What comes first in your life right now? An idol could be an actual graven image, money, knowledge, a thing (gadget, jewellleries,), a hobby, a person (family, friend, boy/girlfriend, celebrities, self), work, politics, sports, movies, games, social media (Facebook, IG, Twitter, Whatsapp, Blogs, etc). Not all the aforementioned objects of our idolatry are bad but placing them above God makes them bad. Balance is Bliss. Beware of idols, God is a jealous God. |
Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life. Proverbs 4:23 The Media is one of the most sensitive mechanisms and by inference Profession/department. There's a reason the adversary is also called prince of the air. (Airwaves). Ephesians 2:2 The Media is to the World what the Soul is to Man. They are both the channels through which Control/Programming/Conforming/Influencing takes place. Communication has to do with the transfer/passing of Information between two or more people. Key word being Information. In basic Communication, there are 3 parties involved; The Source (Sender) --> Medium/Media (Interpreter/Translator)--> The Receiver The Major challenge is that the quality and authenticity of the information being communicated is highly dependent on the Interpreter (Medium/Media). For Communication to be EFFECTIVE there has to be proper interpretation (Understanding) and Expected Result (Output). Input must be equal to Output. Garbage In, Garbage Out (GIGO). Information communicated should not be distorted or corrupted or misunderstood. In relation to the World, this is why we have to be careful of the Press/Media/Social Media. In relation to Man, this is why we have to be sensitive who is controlling our Souls. In the World, we have to be careful who our Media are: Who we listen to, where we expose our selves to and our sources of news. As man (humans) we have to be sensitive who interpretes in our soul. Is it the Holy Spirit or other spirits? That person determines how we view the world. It determines how we are being conformed (Romans 12:2) and how we react to situations. (Matthew 15:11) Be Sensitive. |
The quest for fame and fortune (worldliness) drives us to ungodliness. It's unfortunate that no matter how much people hear and read this, they will still keep chasing fame and fortune. It's a paradoxical conundrum motivated by man's insatiability and egocentricity. What the scriptures aptly describes as Lust of the eyes, Lust of the flesh and Pride of Life. The force/spirit of Lust is the greatest force/spirit contending against the Spirit of God. Once one overcomes lust by submitting to Christ, you experience a Peace of Mind incomprehensible, that derives from being driven by the Spirit of Love (Agape) and Meekness. You experience Contentment. This is what gives Rest to the Soul. Until the human soul is at rest, the person may physically have it all but experience intermitent bouts of sadness and depression inexplicable, overtaken by heaviness of living. For it is only Christ who gives that Rest. Matthew 11:28-29 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. "I took a pill in Ibiza" by Mike Posner is one of my favorites songs. I loved it as an unbeliever and still find it interesting listening to it because it captures the fast life and its vanity. I used to chase that. It's not only entertainment industry but life generally. "I will always love you" simply captures the rollercoaster of love outside Love (God is Love.) Until one loves God wholeheartedly, you can't know how to love yourself and others. Unbelievably true. Which is why the golden and ultimate rule of the bible is Love. So he answered and said, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ‘your neighbor as yourself.’ Luke 10:27 I pray for Unveiling and Grace to us all. |
dollytino4real:This means a lot coming from a lady, thank you! |
It's one thing to know and even agree that indecent dressing is bad. It's another thing to know what qualifies as indecent dressing. It's ultimately another thing to choose to dress decently. So many ladies agree that indecent dressing is bad. But unfortunately, perhaps due to "pop culture", they have no idea that their idea of decent dressing is in fact indecent dressing. It's become rather difficult to define decent dressing. But for anyone who has purposed to dress decently, she will find that thin fine line called "fashionable and decent." |
Musings: It's difficult to explain to ladies how indecent dressing instigates sexual immorality, and even rape. How do you explain to a lady that Men speak Mars, but Women speak Venus. How do you explain that men are Visual-centric and women Audio-centric. We are wired different, hence we see things different. She says it's "just some skin." How does one explain to her? That the man is not seeing "just some skin" but the object of his lust! Yes, granted Men should have some measure of Self-Control, but all we ask is that you "Please, make it a little less difficult for us." -From the diary of a struggling man. |
budaatum:It's a convoluted mess some times. |
I later understood during my dealing on Judgment, that just like other words in the bible, a lot happens in translation. Judges are also leaders/rulers/teachers. We should be able to differentiate where the word "Judge" is used in the context of Leading/teaching/ruling and where it is used as Criticizing. |
This is rather awkward for me to share in the middle of the trending rape allegation and the reaction of believers. However, it is my duty to share as I am led. I have been rather conflicted within me for the following reasons. -Every Rape victim deserves our support. -Alleged Rapists should however be given a fair hearing. -The Pastor in question truly looks the part and has a history, however unproven. -Sensitivity to distractive measures of the adversary. Hence, I have shared a somewhat middle stance in the course of this news, although condemning Rape and deification of Pastors, I have tried (difficult as it is) to avoid directly condemning the pastor in question. When God dealt with me on Judgment, It was a very humbling and unveiling season in my life. And it was primarily with the account of Miriam and Aaron judging Moses for what they perceived an error he committed. God's judgment was fearful and personal. Numbers 12. Just when I tried to brush it aside as being an old testament judgement "thing", the Holy Spirit led me further. He showed me how God frowns so hard on judgment, as Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ shares a deeper understanding of why God frowns on it and its direct impact on our lives whenever we judge one another. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. Matthew 7:2 I didn't understand it until I experienced it. The measure it was measured back to me for judging even a fellow brethren was humbling. It happened in a way that the situation I found myself, I could not but fall due to my illness. Thank God it was a relatively benign judgment. On Sunday, after a nap, I woke up with a name- Dinah. I had to go and study on it. She was the only daughter of Jacob. She was like wise a rape victim. Her brothers Simeon and Levi being vengeful took her course to hand and in retaliation they meted out judgment on both Shechem (the rapist) and His townsmen. Genesis 34. Great brothers right? Wrong. Their Father would later curse them for this action. A curse that Levi was only delivered from when they became Consecrated for God by choosing to stand on the LORD's side. When I probed further to search for the the meaning of the name Dinah, it intriguingly means Judgement. Shockingly amazing right? The ripple effect of judgment is unpredictable. A lot of problems people are facing may directly or indirectly be connected to judgement. Pastors judging brethren, brethren judging pastors, brethren judging fellow brethren, Parents judging children, children judging parents and intriguingly, Nigerians judging the President (our Kings/Masters). I will, if God permits share more details as time goes on. I will leave you to personally study on Judgment. Please don't just take my word for it. We should hold the Pastor accountable but be careful not to judge. More importantly, we should fearfully repent and ask for forgiveness, while we let the law take its course. It is a very thin line between Accountability and Judgment. |
*Money-Wise* Money is a very important instrument to everyone, including believers. Sometimes one of the hardest part of a believer's faith is parting with our hard-earmed money. Sometimes we need to remind ourselves why we ought to give. -We do not give grudgingly. -We do not give selfishly. -We do not give by manipulation. -We give in obedience and faith. -We give in appreciation and understanding that all we have belongs to God and He is our Provider. -We give because we are saved to save others. -We give because God first gave to us- our Lives and our Salvation through Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son, and He continues to give to us. Tithes & Offering- A Covenant Seed. Bring all the tithes into the storehouses, that there may be food in My house, and try me now in this, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it. Malachi 3:10 Liberality- Generosity is the nature of God. A closed hand can neither receive. We ought to cultivate a habit of giving, both to God's kingdom work and also to anyone in need. God makes His Grace abound when we do this. 2 Corinthians 9:1-15 Hospitality- Entertain strangers. Who knows when even an Angel may visit. Abraham's hospitality to Angels, earned him God's promised child. Genesis 18:1-14, Matthew 25:37-40 Honour Leaders- A labourer is worthy of his reward. Give to those who sow sacrificially into the salvation of your soul. If you honour a prophet, you get a prophet's reward. Matthew 10:41-42 Fulfill Your Family Responsibilities- Your family should reflect and benefit of God's glory in your life. Don't be an infidel. 1 Timothy 5:8 Save And Invest- Give to yourself too. Cultivate a disciplined saving habit and investment also. Don't eat it all. Joseph became a father to Pharaoh in Egypt because of God's Grace on Him. One of which was his ingenuity in saving in the rainy day and having more than enough in the drought. Genesis 45:8 |
Ttipsy:Let's be realistic, sir, when your side of the road is in a deplorable state, it might be difficult to be lawful. US and other developed countries work because they take their development seriously. Govt does her part so that it's easier for her citizens to be law-abiding. |
Ttipsy:And One-way peddlers. But truly as commendable as this is, the roads also need major repairs. I think Sanwo-olu is serious-minded, I just hope he sees it to the end. Continuity is key. |
valentineuwakwe:Some yahoo boys share the same testimony with you, it doesn't mean scamming is not a sin. I can't explain how gambling is a sin but when you see how several gamblers end up, maybe you will understand. it has to do with lust/love of money. It is simply not a good spirit. Choose either a career or a business and be diligent in it. I am not saying stop it immediately, but see it as something wrong. God will provide something right if he sees your heart is right. God bless you. |
valentineuwakwe:Lol ok, premarital sex too isn't so bad right? White lies too? Should we keep listing little evils that move the gospel of hell sir? |
jesusjnr:Lol it happens. I appreciate your understanding bro. |
jesusjnr:Interesting, the way God works. I actually was carried away by the comment, I didn't pay attention to the poster. I didn't know it was you otherwise I wouldn't have said "you've abandoned your bible" knowing that you've been ministering daily. That said, I simply said the Truth according to the scrptures. My concern is not whose ox is gored. But I hope you will receive it and not find offense in it. Peace and Grace to you and us all. |
jesusjnr:You apparently have abandoned your bible for far too long. Everywhere the devil tempted man, he sounded nice and innocent. Study from the temptation of Eve, compare with the temptations of Christ both in the Wilderness and through Apostle Peter. Then come to our present age, the Grace gospel that has been made to entice men that there's nothing like sin anymore as Christ destroyed sin once and for all. You should be very sensitive to the modus operandi and wiles of Satan. Because that's the only way you can help yourself by identifying wolves in sheep clothing. I hope this meets you well. |
valentineuwakwe:Don't abuse Grace sir. Gambling is wrong. It's a spirit that might lead you to sell your valuables. Be diligent and trust God to prosper you. |
FirePower1:Well said. God's part is Grace. Our part is Faith. More Grace and Faith to you and us all. |
NobleAngell:Thanks for this. You summed it all succinctly. More Grace to you. |
Joshmodest:Intelligent analysis. |
