Op, am sorry for what I'm about to say its not my intention to hurt you or to be insulting but your dad is selfish and contrary to the popular belief in Nigeria, not all parents are good.

Its because the society has deteriorated. Why would some young boys be giving girls money hoping to sleep with them! Instead of being responsible, going to school, getting job and then getting married. Rather they would go about impregnating small girls who agree to sleep with them and raping the one who refuse. Some women and the society are to be blamed for this too.
