Jairzinho:I agree. I don' t think Islam distinguishes between politics and religion. |
Honestly I am not trying to stereotype Islam since I am not very knowledgeable with Islam. But why is it that all these terrorists who are willing and do blow up themselves are always Muslim? The Islamic governments and authorities need to take a proactive step by rooting and shutting down the mosques and operations of Imams who teach extreme and anti-West Islam. This is getting out of hand, for it will increase the fear of traveling and discrimination against innocent Nigerians. |
redsky1:You are right. This will fuel the already negative reputation we had. As a result Nigerians will be looked as potential terrorists and 419ers. |
Watching CNN and Fox news repeat and stress his Nigerian nationality makes me sad! ![]() |
May be it is me, but how in the world did this topic make front page? A simple google search or wiki search or an inquiry on a nerd website would have answered this question beyond any doubt. It appears the moderators favor stories that are posted by their cohorts rather than selecting topics for front page based on merit and popular demand. A front page topic could at the very least be a topic that cannot be answered by a posting on wikipedia or a google search or a nerd website. Na waa oooooooooo |
The problem to me is that having two abortions is an indication that the girl is irresponsible and does not care for her health. This is because it show she practices unsafe sex, which means that she is likely to have STDs and HIV and all the other nasty stuff. Both of you should get an STD and AIDS test. |
olalekan1:So are you implying that teachers should use their native tongue, say Yoruba, to teach English, Maths, Geography, etc, to students? |

If people who schooled in Europe and America, among others, are shocked by the calamity of the pictures, then I can understand. But for people who schooled in Nigeria to act as if these same conditions were nonexistent when they went to school is to deny reality. Perhaps, the only difference from the classrooms in the pictures and the ones which were back in the day is that the olden classrooms had more desks and the floor had concrete instead of sand, but that's about it. I can understand that many diaspora Nigerians who schooled in deficient classrooms comparable to the ones in the pictures have been accustomed to seeing aesthetically sound and well furnished classrooms, so the picture of a classroom that is similarly situated to the classroom in which they schooled while they grew up now becomes offensive to them. |
It amazes me how some people think they have special status because of the little "change" they have overseas, like there aren't people in Nigeria who are worth a million fold more than you. If you go to Lagos, no one will really send you, and it may not be uncommon for people over there to treat you to nice things while you keep your little change you brought from Jand or Yankee. But it all depends on your environment, though. If you hang around in the village or around broke people, then you may need to cognizant of your surroundings and be watchful of your so called "bling." |
vislabraye:Kanu and Oruma were not in the USA '94 World Cup nor were they in the Nations Cup. My point is that if you have a superb young player, why not call him up. Okocha played in the world Cup when he was young. Messi played for Argentina straight from the U-17 squad; Michael Owen was a teenage sensation and was called up to the senior squad at the U-17 level. When you have guys like Okoro, a player who is extremely fit and has pace and who is hungry for success, i see no reason why he should not be called to fight for a shirt. |
vislabraye:Amodu is saying that here is the possibility that his Nations Cup team will be his World Cup team. He said the performance at the Nations Cup will determine the players who he will take to the World Cup. So assuming none of those players perform well at the Nations Cup, does it mean that he will disband the team to pick a new squad? |
@ Poster: I can relate to you because I've been told the same before. The problem is that you need to stay away from regular looking girls, by that I mean girls who are not drop dead gorgeous. Insofar as women will hate to admit it, especially Naija women, a good-looking, fit Naija guy will usually intimidate a regular, kwashiokor looking Naija girl; so that girl will never fathom that a good-looking, and even possibly rich, guy could be within her domain. Pretty Naija girls are usually less intimidated by good-looking Naija men, and are less likely to think you are "too good to be true." That's my take, playa. |
What happened to the talents that won the Silver Medal at the recently concluded Beijing Olympics? I feel also that there should be one or two players called from the recent U 17 World Cup. Why doesn't Nigeria ever develop on talents? If this squad he called is essentially the same squad that struggled to beat teams like Mozambique and Tunisia during World Cup qualifying, how does he now expect them to compete against more quality teams at the World Cup level? Also this shows Amodu is a fool. Yes, a big fool. While other coaches already have in mind a short list of players who will go the World Cup, Amodu is effectively saying that the performance at the Nations Cup will be his way of choosing players for the World Cup. He should make up his mind now and choose his World Cup team, whomever that may be, and use the Nations Cup to blend them together, which would be beneficial because that team will be used to playing together when it's time for the World Cup. Or does he think he can start choosing new players after the Nations Cup? You guys remember USA '94. Westerhof already had his World Cup squad before the Nations Cup, and he took the same team that represented Nigeria in the Nations Cup to the World Cup, which is a good strategy. |
Theblessed:Please do not let your religious or moral convictions cloud the evilness that underlies that girl's malicious spread of HIV to unsuspecting men. While the guys who had sex with her may be fornicating, that by no means justifies her behavior, and it should not in any way justify your telling the victims to "now eat their hearts out." You have to realize also that people in married, monogamous relationships contract HIV from their partners, so people who fornicate are not the only ones who are in danger of being infected because of their partner's risky behavior. |
^^^^^^^ I feel you. There is a likelihood that the victim is the one who transmitted the virus to the robbers! |
Ujujoan:Up till this day I have not met, and don't expect, to meet a woman who will admit to the allegation that they are attracted to bad boys. The excuse is always that they fell for their deceit and lies of these bad boys. A lot of these women knowingly date players and bad boys under the assumption that they have the magic wand to change the character of such men. And when they fail to do the impossible, to change such person's character, instead of looking in the mirror and assuming responsibility, they blame other men and society at large. As to your assertion about how a reasonable woman will refrain from dating guys who do not treat her right, you will have to take a poll to find out the percentage of reasonable women and ask the legions of women who continue to knowingly date and stay with losers; and you will also have to ask the legions women who claim that they were "deceived" into dating losers but continue to date them after finding out that their significant other is a loser. |
Even though a lot of females will deny reality and attack me for expressing this, I will nevertheless say it. The nicer you treat a lot of women, the more they lose interest in you. We all know that it is elementary to say that nice guys finish last, and, sadly, women flock to you when you are arrogant and self-serving; it's just life. That is to say, if he was a bonafide player who played games and had a cauldron of women, the atmosphere of competition with other females may motivate her to stay. Also, if her boyfriend divided his attention among other females, the speculation about the reasons for not wholeheartedly focusing on her may also drive her to desire him more. |
If the ban is directed only at Igbo people, then i believe it is discriminatory. That is to say, if Hausas, for example, are allowed to confer on a designated individual , say, they are allowed to confer the "Walahi Talahi" of Lagos on another Malo, then an act that prohibits only the Ibo from conferring their indigenous titles may be invidious discrimination--motivated by a racially discriminated purpose and directed at an identifiable tribe. All Fashola has to do to rebut the claim of discrimination is to show that the prohibition applies to all other tribes, and that conferring a title that bears an insignia of State authority, as in here where it is the Eze Ndigbo of "Lagos," without written approval from the State is in violation of State laws. This is because all other chieftancy titles that are indigenous to Lagos State such as the Oba of Lagos are recognized and sanctioned by the State, and this is rightfully justified, since the Oba of Lagos was a member of the Royal family of Lagos. Therefore, an attempt to confer on an individual a non-indigenous chieftancy title that bears State authority, as in here where an Igbo title that bears the seal of Lagos, is an attempted usurpation of the traditional norms of government, a government which is recognized and consecrated by the Lagos State government. Also, using State signature without written approval or sanction from the State is in violation of State laws. The Court should, hopefully, dismiss this lawsuit for failure of plaintiffs to state a claim and in the interest of judicial economy. |

?? Would those of you who advocates for this kind of lifestyle for Nigerian man outside marriage, see the dangers of such behaviours and feel sorry for your own ignorance?
