This Islam religion sef. Na only una? Yes. I said it. |
To my Muslim brethren: what is the big deal about Sharia that makes it attractive to Muslims? And do you guys really want Nigeria to be an Islamic state? Please respond honestly. |
Many Muslims openly decry Al Qaeda but privately espouse them, so this idea that Muslims want to overthrow a democratically elected government and replace it with a Sharia government is plausible. |
There are also Naija girls in Yankee who are looking for papers, just like the Naija girls in Naija. Also, there are Naija girls who are vampires in Yankee just like in Naija. |
I see nothing wrong with supporting your boyfriend financially, as long as you guys are in a committed, serious relationship, possibly longterm. Six months in a relationship, as it is in your case, may be possibly too short to delve yourself into supporting your boyfriend. The main question, however, is whether you guys have any plans of eventually getting married. For me, save for entertainment spending, I will never support financially any girl with whom I am not in a serious, committed relationship and whom I have no plans of marrying. That's just how I roll. I ain't no Santa Claus or Father Christmas or Baba Keresi. |
Genius100:True talk. But marrying an ugly chick does not mean she has not been chopped by lots of dudes, difference being that it maybe danfo drivers and conductors who chopped her rather than aristos. The most important thing is to make sure to weed out the pretty girls who are essentially ashawos, that is, they go after men strictly for money regardless of those men's character. There are pretty girls who are raised properly and are more likely to not succumb to the forces from aristos. |
Northerners and their kulikuli politics. They are choosing a candidate only because he is from the North, not because he is the most qualified from Nigeria. |
Bandit C.:Bandit C, I am kind of in the same boat as you. I am not the typical Naija guy who has a problem getting akata girls or Naija girls or Oyinbo girls, but I do prefer to mary a Nigerian girl. The problem is that most Naija girls I find here in the States are usually ugly, shapeless, assetless, or hipless; and the ones who do meet that category are usually taken because of the law of demand and supply. When I go to Naija, I do have a large cauldron from which to choose my type of Naija girls. And when I do go to Naija, I do not use any "abroad" game to pick up a girl. That being said, if I do meet the type of Naija chick who meets my criteria here in the States, then I would wife her. |
buzugee:I am not the one to judge, but I think it is still possible that you can find quality women back home. And not all women back home are poor, village girls who can be easily wooed by some dude from abroad using his "abroad status." You never know where you can find your soul mate, and I think someone made a point earlier that you should treat the wife from back home the same way you would treat a wife whom you met abroad. But I do see your point, sha! |
There is nothing wrong with bringing a wife from home. It may go wrong, however, if it falls under one of the following circumstances: (1) you over embellished or lied about your financial status abroad and therefore created a misleading representation or unreasonable expectation of your financial status abroad; (2) you are not used to getting quality women abroad generally, and the only means by which you got that woman was going back home to use your "abroad status" to woo her into a relationship; (3) you used predominantly money or material things to woo her into a relationship; (4) you promised to bring her abroad in exchange for her promise to marry you; (5) you brought the wife abroad to send her to nursing or some other professional school so as to predominantly use her eventual earning potential to finance your habits; (6) you bring her as a de facto sex slave or a house maid, particularly when you barricade her from the outside world so that she would not become westernized or become corrupted by western or exposed women; OR (7) you bring the woman from home despite palpable signs of manifest incompatibility or fundamental ideological differences that it is so unlikely that the eventual marriage will work. My 2 cents on the issue. If you fall in love with a woman back home without falling under any of the aforementioned criteria, I think your marriage stands a significant better chance at success. |
To all the people who said I must be associating with the wrong Nigerian crowd because I said many Nigerians do menial jobs in the U.K., get a life. There is no point in downplaying reality, for many Nigerians who have no papers resort to doing menial jobs to earn some income, especially if they have no one to support them during their transitional period. Lately, in Yankee, it is not uncommon to see many Africans, and even some Nigerians, do laborious jobs that are traditionally performed by Mexican immigrants. On the other hand, successful Nigerians still abound both in the U.K. and in the U.S. Bottom line, we should all pray to God to direct us to the country in which we will be blessed. Some people who would have otherwise been successful in Nigeria have left for overseas and enslaved themselves and, in so doing, have missed their blessings. Same thing for Nigerians who are unsuccessful in Nigeria and really need to go abroad to succeed in their endeavors. May God bless us all in 2011 and direct us to the location in which our blessings abound. |
Blazay:With your big stereotypical mouth. |
silentc:My experience is that more Nigerians in the U.K. do more menial jobs than Nigerians in the U.S., a country that is more immigrant friendly. U.K. is the menial jobs destination for Nigerians, for U.K. visas are easier to get than U.S. visas, and there are more opportunities in the U.S. The business environment in the U.S. is also more favorable, and anecdotal evidence suggests that there are more successful Nigerians in the U.S. (percentage wise) than the U.K. and other European countries. So a lot of these Nigerians at home try to make themselves feel better by erroneously assuming that Nigerians abroad are not successful. Keep dreaming. |
ydass:How dare you recommend Jos as a place to which a returnee should move! Don't you know you are recommending a place that will cause him to die an untimely death? Don't you read about all the ethnic/religious skirmishes that occur in Jos, during which many innocent civilians have been killed. Don't you read the news? |
You live by the gun, you die by the gun. |

I have noticed lately that many Nigerian women in Yankee are intimidated by good looking Nigerian men. Some dudes have told me that Nigerian girls refuse to talk to them initially because the girls think they look (not act) American, so they refuse to talk to them. These dudes also claim that these girls want to talk to them later once they find out they are from Nigeria, not Yankee. Is it a sin for a Nigerian dude to "look American?" And why do Nigerian girls automatically assume that because the Nigerian guy looks good and is well polished then they should run away from him at first glance, just because he does not look like the stereotypical Naija dude. FYI: And when I mean look American I am not talking about those low life Naija dudes who wear bling with saggy pants and dress like those thugs; I mean Naija dudes who dress regular and matured. And for you Naija girls, don't play ignorance and act like you don't what I am saying; you know what I mean. My fellow Nairalanders, what y'all think? |
to the dudes: A good way of verifying a lady's age is by looking at her hands. Older ladies tend to have more veins on their hands, and no amount of botox or surgery or lies can conceal aging hands that are full of veins. |
poster, dump that lying arse biatch |
preserving your virginity will only cause problems on the long run. |
I guarantee you that those virgin girls have some form of psychological problem. |
If GEJ had otherwise knelt down before a white man of God, for example the pope or Benny Hinn, I am sure many people who have a problem with the picture showing him kneeling down in front of Adeboye would have lauded him for kneeling down in front of a white man. |
Hire the maid abeg. And if you yield into the temptation, your wife will be left to blame no one but herself. |
I see nothing wrong with this picture. If anything can be gleaned from the picture, it is that GEJ humbled himself by kneeling down in front of a man of God to pray for him, which is different from bowing down to Adeboye. It is elementary that it is customary in Nigeria that kneeling down in front of a pastor is a precondition to getting that pastor to pray for you in person. The symbolic act of kneeling down expresses humility to God, not to the pastor. You guys should get a life if a picture of a president showing he is being prayed for disturbs you, just because the picture shows that he is kneeling down in front of a pastor and closing his eyes. Give me a break! |
Ribadu appears to have the intent to change Nigeria, but his Northern roots is working to his disadvantage. Northerners have destroyed Nigeria enough. |
Northerners displaying their quintessential sabo/kulikuli politics. Nigeria should split abeg. |

women like to pack too much pata. Why would you need 8 patas for a weekend trip? |
