The Nigerian Railways Corporation (NRC) said the Abuja-Kaduna train service has recorded approximately 900,000 passengers in two years.

The Manager of the train service, Mr Pascal Nnorli disclosed this yesterday at the two years anniversary celebration of the service at the Idu train station in Abuja.

“As at today when we checked, we saw that we have carried approximately 900,000 passengers in two years” he said.

He said the service has provided 600 direct jobs since inception.
President Muhammadu Buhari had on July 26, 2016, flagged off the commercial operations of the service.

Nnorli said “We have done well, based on the available infrastructure. Before 2016, we didn’t have any operational standard gauge railway in West Africa, this was the pioneer standard gauge operation in West Africa and here we are today carrying an average of 2000 passengers everyday to and from Abuja-Kaduna.”

He said e-ticketing will soon commence and access into the train terminal area would be electronically through the e-tickets.

“As a corporation, we are going further to make sure that we give people the best of rail service by introducing e-ticketing. The procurement process has started and we are in the next phase right now,” he said.

It has been reported that a student of the Olabisi Onabanjo University, has been left injured following an accident.

The student was, today, left injured, following the accident which occurred during their signing out.

Local reports show that some Engineering students were celebrating the successful completion of their undergraduate studies when one of them lost control of his car, crashing into things and leaving at least a student injured.

There are no reports of any deaths but the car was left quite damaged from the front.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said 75 out of 230 stranded Nigerian Football fans vanished in Russia after the 2018 FIFA World Cup .

The ministry’s spokesperson, Dr Tope Elias-Fatile , told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Abuja that the fans absconded in spite of government’s efforts to repatriate them.

Fatile said that 230 stranded Nigerian football fans were profiled to board chartered Ethiopian Airline to Abuja but at the last minute, only 155 boarded the flight.

“As at the last count, over 230 stranded Nigerians had been cleared to board an Ethiopian Airline flight to Abuja, however, only 155 boarded the flight that arrived Friday night July 22,” he said.

He said that the ministry officials had to contribute to feed some of the stranded Nigerians in Moscow as many of them were left with nothing.
He added that though they had the rights not to come back, it would be better for them to return because of the unfavourable weather in that country.

”Do you know that the officials at the mission had to sacrifice their earning by contributing money to feed the stranded fans?,” he said.
He said that if, however, they repented and decided to come back, the ministry was ever ready to assist them.

Fatile said that Federal Government was ever willing to assist Nigerians at anytime, anywhere in the world.

The spokesperson said that the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Geoffrey Onyeama, had also made some contacts with relevant agencies to commence investigation into suspected human trafficking in the case.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the stranded football fans including a nursing mother in her mid-thirties arrived Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport Abuja at about 9.12 p.m. on July 20.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Geoffrey Onyeama, who was at the airport to monitor their arrival, had said that the Federal Government was going to probe the case.

Onyeama said that the plan to probe the issue surrounding the incident was underway.

A Kenyan fashion blogger said to be in a relationship with a Nigerian man, Lisa, has advised women to be submissive to their men in order to get whatever they want from them.

In her latest vlog titled "How to get what you want from your man" Lisa Gaitho advised women to wash their men, dry and oil their bodies.
“If he wants to go take his bath, literally wash him. Scrub him, don’t let him do anything, wash him, clean his ears, like how you would if he was a baby. Dry him and oil him,” she says.

In the video, Lisa, who lives in Nigeria with her boyfriend, also revealed that her boyfriend caters to her needs as she cannot afford a luxurious lifestyle despite being a fashion blogger and designer.

Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has warned Nigerians living abroad to be careful of the news they read about Nigeria online as 80% of them are fake.

Lai said this when he met with the Nigerian ambassador to the US, Sylvanus Nsofor, in Washington over the weekend.

“Fake news and misinformation when mixed with hate speech threaten the peace, unity, security and corporate existence of Nigerians. Many people in the diaspora depend a lot on Social media for news about Nigeria. However, 80 percent of what you read on social media is fake.

155 out of 230 Nigerian football fans stranded in Russia after the 2018 FIFA World Cup arrived the country on Friday night.

The stranded football fans including a nursing mother in her mid thirties came through Ethiopian Airline flight number ET-ALP that arrived Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport Abuja at about 9.12 p.m on July 20.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Geoffrey Onyeama, who was at the airport to monitor their arrival, lauded President Buhari’s effort to ensure their safe return.

He said that that the President directed that Nigerians, who were stranded in Russia after the 2018 World Cup tournament, should be evacuated immediately.

The minister explained that there was also an allegation that some airline travel agents cancelled return tickets of their customers without informing them.

One of the returnees, Bamidele Fatai was full of praises to President Buhari for making their journey possible. He also thanked the Nigerian Mission in Moscow for giving them necessary support.

Another returnee said he was swindled by an agent who cancelled his return ticket. He said he was in Moscow to support the Nigerian Football Team and to catch fun only to discover that his ticket had been cancelled when he was ready to return home.

This is the second time the 35-year-old man, whose asylum application was rejected, has avoided deportation to his home country.

“Inconsolable crying” on the part of a grown-up Afghan man slated to be sent back to his native country had effectively stopped his expulsion, the newspaper Dagen reported.

According to Dagen, 35-year-old Hossein Muhammadin had previously applied for asylum in Sweden, but was rejected and was facing expulsion.
Muhammadin claimed to be a Christian convert, whereas the Swedish authorities didn’t accept his explanation and decided he was to be sent home.

This past weekend, Muhammadin was to be flown to Afghanistan’s capital, Kabul, but the flight was interrupted before the plane took off, a fellow member of the Lidköping Pentecostal Assembly told Dagen, attributing this to Muhammadin’s breakdown.

“We believe this was a panic attack that hit him on board. He cried relentlessly and shouted, so that they had to disembark him,” Rolf Wernersson told Dagen.

According to the newspaper, the Afghan man is now back at a migrant center in Kållared outside Gothenburg.

By their own admission, his friends at the Pentecostal assembly will attempt to have his asylum application reviewed, following the breakdown incident.

“We will try to find out what we can do to keep him in Sweden. Perhaps we can use his breakdown episode as a new circumstance,” Rolf Wernersson said.

According to Dagen, a previous attempt to deport Hossein Muhammadin in April failed for reasons unknown. He was also reported to have appealed his rejection several times.

Sweden’s Afghan diaspora numbers over 44,000 people and has been estimated to have grown exponentially during the recent migrant crisis, in which Afghans constitute a high percentage alongside Syrians, Iraqis and Eritreans.

Last month, a much-debated decision was passed by the Swedish Parliament, allowing a total of 9,000 Afghans billed as

“unaccompanied refugee children” to stay in the Scandinavian country despite lacking grounds for asylum reasons and having had their previous applications rejected.

None of the 9,000 Afghans had valid documents at the time of their arrival, and 78 of them were found to have lied about their age.

This step, which by the Swedish government’s own estimation will set the state coffers back $350m in the coming three years alone, doesn’t apply to asylum seekers not labeled as children.

A lady has accused some Nigerian police officers attached to NNPC of bashing her car and harassing her afterwards.

The police officers who claimed they were going to their base in Obalende, allegedly hit the woman's car, leaving it with a deep dent, and tried to continue on their way but she blocked them from leaving. They then got down from their car and threatened to deal with her.

The woman said the officers were reeking of alcohol as they verbally abused her.

Sharing photos of the officers, she wrote;

A woman is asking for advise on Twitter after she had sexual relations with her pastor for the success of her business only to later discover she'd been fooled.

The woman revealed that she was having setbacks in her business, so she went to her pastor for prayers and he told her she had had sex with someone that has a bad spirit and it was affecting her business. To remedy that, he told her she has to have sex with an anointed man of God. He backed his suggestion with bible verses and the woman fell for it.

After the sexual encounter with the pastor, the woman had an influx of customers who came to buy in bulk and she believed this meant the pastor's prayers worked. But she later discovered the customers were the security personnel of the pastor and she believes he sent them to buy goods from her to make it appear as though his prayers worked.
She's now asking for advice on what course of action to take.

A grieving Nigerian soldier who was in the northeastern part of Nigeria fighting Boko Haram terrorists has narrated how SARS tortured his cousin to death while he was away.

The soldier with the Twitter handle @jassjegs said his cousin was picked up at random with other guys and taken into custody where they were first accused him of being Yahoo boys, then of being cultists. They were tortured by SARS as they tried to get a confession out of them and his cousin died after some days of torture.

The soldier was devastated when he returned home after a long period of serving Nigeria only to be greeted with the sad news. He says he’s now tired of Nigeria and thinks he might be done.

A driver was seen risking his own life and his passenger's life yesterday in Benin, Edo State as he used an improvised fuel tank inside his bus.

As seen in the video, the driver placed a 25 litres keg that's filled with petrol beside him while a hosepipe leading to the bus engine was put inside the keg.

A young Nigerian man, whose name is, identified as Osha Ojota was arrested in the evening of Thursday, July 12, while trying to pick the pocket of an official of the Rapid Response Squad.

The RRS confirmed the incident and released the photograph of the alleged robber on its social media handle.

The security agency said the unnamed man would be well fed, and spend the night with its officials before he is transferred on Friday, July 13, for possible prosecution.

“This lad just picked the pocket of an undercover RRS officer on surveillance duty around Alausa Ikeja.

“He was caught in the act and arrested. He will be spending the night with us and we will make sure he’s well served food before his transfer tomorrow,” the statement said.

A woman who has been married for 12 years without a child, gave birth to a set of twins in March this year. Then in June, only 3 months later, she gave birth to a son.

According to her niece who shared the news on Facebook, the new mother kept complaining of stomach pain after giving birth to her twins, a boy and a girl. On June 29, she went into labour again and gave birth to another boy.

"I witnessed a high way robbery attack for the very first time in my life today, at 9th mile in Enugu state! And today also, I discovered reason why people die carelessly!...I was in a bus heading to Nsukka when fully armed robbers were robbing some luxurious buses.

A white sienna car in front of our bus alerted us and we made a fast U-turn...we ran back so that we can avert the robbery attack, only for a woman and a man (in unionism) shouting at the driver to go back that we are covered with the blood of Jesus.

We scolded the driver to ignore them...the woman kept on shouting, she just wanted to see the robbery incident...she said that if God wanted us to die that we will die no matter what.....I was like, who are the "we"?....at that point, I was very mad and I lashed her.

Pls, you guys should be very careful when boarding a public transport....there are so many demons in human flesh that wants you to perish with them! They are always the ones that will shout at u for scolding a driver to drive carefully!

Speak for yourself, don't allow the voices to be louder than urs...they always claim to be fearless but when the tin happen, they will blame devil!

A Nigerian man identified Idoko Joephat Esomchi also know as Potus has chosen to end his own life by drinking poison after a visa agent scammed him with a 6 months visa.

According to reports gathered by ToriMill, Mr Potus promised Mr Potus had an agreement of 6 months visa with a 3 years permanent permit with an agent for $2000. It was learnt that the said agent betray their agreement and later gave Mr Potus a 2 weeks visa.

ToriMill reached out to the family and friends of the deceased and we learnt that when Potus first got to Kazakhstan, the first job he got was a car wash job and the pay was too low so he decided to apply for a teaching job. He managed to get a teaching job with free apartment and other stuff but when the school discovered he didn’t have visa they refused to do resident permit for him ( don’t we mentioned that he went on a 2weeks visa) so he was used by the school without any payment.

We gathered that a friend assisted him by providing accommodation for him because he was homeless with no job after sometime his friend decided to travel back to Nigeria and told Potus to stay back in Kazakhstan but Potus refused because he felt there is nothing left for him in Kazakhstan since he couldn’t extend his stay. So he booked flight back to Nigeria and called his friend that left Kazakhstan and told him he can’t go back to Lagos with the shame of coming back home with nothing and he borrowed money from different people.

His friend, who assisted him when he (Potus) was homeless in Kazakhstan help arranged a place for him to stay in Abuja with another person. ToriMill get to know that, 5days ago Potus drank poison and died in the apartment of the person he was squatting with in Abuja.

The luck that the guy Potus was living with had was that someone saw Potus drinking poison so neighbors didn’t accused the innocent guy that was accommodating him.

Reaching out to Potus sister and in law, it was also disclosed that whenever Mr Potus is angry he always say he is going to kill himself that it’s been a long time since he had that taught of suicide. May his Soul Rest in Perfect peace.

A South African man and a twitter user, Kamohelo Mokoena (@therealKamza), shared his story on the social media. The tweep who is a lawyer in South Africa revealed how he got abandoned by his father at the age of 5, but that didn’t stop him from pushing further.

20 years later, his dad got into trouble and was sued to court. He unknowingly approached the son he abandoned to represent him as his lawyer in court. His father realized it was his son he approached, and he was so ashamed, he couldn’t look him in the eyes.

Kamza said he was emotionally conflicted but he composed himself, proceeded to represent his dad, and they won the case.

According to him, after the case was won, his estranged father gave him a big hug, and told him he’s proud of him.

A video making the rounds online shows young Nigerian girls no older than 10 singing a song that is so inappropriate for their age and it has angered viewers.

Four girls are seen in the video, one dressed in a school uniform, as they sang about men providing their needs and anyone who is unable to should leave their lives.

"You men, listen...," one of the girls began in the video.
She continued: "A man who can't buy iPhone X for me... "
And other girls chorused: "Disappear."

"A man who can't give me money for my hair... Disappear"
"A man who can't buy clothes for me... Disappear."
"A man who can't take me out... Disappear."

Social media users have said the song shows that the wrong values are being instilled in the girls and some have asked that the adult filming them should be questioned.
