No Nigerian city looks like this 3d rendering. not even Abuja or Onitsha with it's 4 story buildings. Only Onitsha and maybe Aba comes close though, but not quite. Most Nigerian cities are actually towns, not real cities. in this modern times , highrise structures define cityscapes.
In recent times there's been a lot of focus on roads in Nigeria, albeit we still haven't mastered building roads with drainage and sidewalks. Even so , I think attention should also be given to buildings.


In order to achieve this , all Nigerian cities need new city plan. many structures would have to demolished to erect highrise apartments. It may not have to occur all at once, it could be within a period of time , as long as the blue print is followed by successive governments

Bearing in mind that such buildings require constant power supply because of elevator, where is the constant power supply that occupants and visitors to such building will be using in terms of accessing their destination?

Do you expect Nigerians to be climbing stairs to a 24 or more storey building? What about pregnant women? Those on wheelchair and clutches?

Are the fire service personnel well trained and equipped to manage fire disaster in such building? How are they managing the ones we have now?

Until Nigeria gets it right in the power sector, nothing will work in Nigeria.

I doubt the governor was meant to be in this meeting because if he was, advance security set-up would have been put in place and in some strategic locations ahead of the governor's arrival.

Even with that, it was expensive then and only the elites can afford it.

I recently got admission in a university in uk for my Masters. The challenge I have is that I can't fund it. The only way to to do so is by selling my mom house.

I'm her only child and another difficult challenge is that she was buried in the yard of the house 5 years ago.

I don't have a good job, I have been teaching in a private for a long time, I need a better future for myself, I'm seeing a chance here for a better life by furthering my education in uk.

It's a difficult decision for me selling the house with her grave in it. Please guys put yourself in my shoes, what will you do in this kind of situation?

First of all, you need to understand that life in the UK is not what you see on tv, it's tough and if you don't have someone on ground to show you the way, it will be depressing and suicidal for you. You will need money to survive atleast the first 6 months of your stay before your eyes start opening.
