Christianity Etc › Re: Is Belief In Jesus Enough For Salvation? by PROPHETmichael: 5:12pm On Mar 12, 2023 |
Dtruthspeaker: The thief on the cross did many things.
He gave justice where Jesus got injustice. He gave light while Jesus was plunged into darkness He condemned the evil while honouring and respecting the good.
Therefore, thief gave righteousness and did it
The thief did to Jesus what Jesus came to do for us. The thief was too small to do anything for Jesus. As a matter of fact, he was helpless and just wanted the curtain to be close as soon as possible.
Jesus gave the good and got the good according to The Law!
That is why the thief made it. No sir, the thief made it because he found grace and got his request approved through his beliefs and confession.
So are your deeds good or evil?
The Law shall Judge This your write up contradicts the word as it is written, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9) The difference between the thief on the left and the thief on the right was pride. Even after being corrected, pride won't let the thief on the left to apologise to Jesus and ask for mercy. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Is Belief In Jesus Enough For Salvation? by PROPHETmichael: 9:00am On Mar 12, 2023 |
Jokanem: “Believe in Jesus”—Is Belief in Jesus Enough for Salvation?
Christians believe that Jesus died for the sins of humankind. (1 Peter 3:18) However, salvation requires more than believing in Jesus as Savior. The demons know that Jesus is “the Son of God,” but they face destruction, not salvation.—Luke 4:41; Jude 6.
What must I do to be saved?
1) You must believe that Jesus sacrificed his life for our sins. (Acts 16:30, 31; 1 John 2:2) This includes believing that Jesus was a real person and that all of what the Bible account says about him is accurate.
2) Learn what the Bible really teaches. (2 Timothy 3:15) The Bible says that the apostle Paul and Silas told a jailer: “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will get saved.” Then, after that, they began to teach “the word of Jehovah” a to the jailer. (Acts 16:31, 32)
This indicates that the jailer could not truly believe in Jesus unless he had a basic understanding of God’s Word. He needed accurate knowledge based on the Scriptures.—1 Timothy 2:3, 4.
3). Repent. (Acts 3:19) You must also repent, or feel deep sorrow, over previous wrong attitudes and conduct. Your repentance will be obvious to others as you stop practices that offend God and do “works that befit repentance.”—Acts 26:20.
4)Get baptized. (Matthew 28:19) Jesus said that those who become his disciples would be baptized. The jailer mentioned earlier was baptized. (Acts 16:33) Similarly, after the apostle Peter taught a large crowd the truth about Jesus, “those who gladly accepted his word were baptized.”—Acts 2:40, 41.
5) Obey Jesus’ instructions. (Hebrews 5:9) Those who “observe all the things” that Jesus commanded show by their life course that they are his followers. (Matthew 28:20) They become “doers of the word and not hearers only.”—James 1:22.
6) Endure to the end. (Mark 13:13) Jesus’ disciples “need endurance” in order to be saved. (Hebrews 10:36) For example, the apostle Paul maintained strict obedience to Jesus’ teachings and loyalty to God, and he endured in this course from the day he became a Christian until he died.—1 Corinthians 9:27.
Bible verses about belief in Jesus and salvation
Matthew 24:13: “The one who has endured to the end will be saved.”
Meaning: To gain salvation, people must maintain their faithfulness throughout their life.
Acts 16:30, 31: “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will get saved.”
Meaning: Belief in Jesus is necessary to attain salvation.
1 Timothy 2:3, 4: “This is fine and acceptable in the sight of our Savior, God, whose will is that all sorts of people should be saved and come to an accurate knowledge of truth.”
Meaning: Belief in Jesus must be based on accurate knowledge of Bible truth.
Hebrews 5:9: “[Jesus] became responsible for everlasting salvation to all those obeying him.”
Meaning: To gain salvation, people must both know and obey Jesus’ commands. The thief on the cross got his salvation just by believing in Jesus. The word is not complicated. |
Family › Re: Is This Not Enough Reason To Divorce Him? by PROPHETmichael: 8:53am On Mar 12, 2023 |
What would you advice in a situation where a husband loses his job due to gambling and decided not to make any effort in search of another job or business or any legal means of making even little money.
He just wakes up in the morning, have his bath, put on the AC and go back to sleep. Only expecting any little thing the wife can cook to eat? He wouldn't pay any bills, provide anything but very humble helping out with house cleaning and washing.
Knowing that the situation is not funny on the wife and two children.
The wife must struggle to make food available no matter how little for the children, because she can't watch the children go hungry. In a situation like this, when men goes out looking for means of making food available for their children and family, he is comfortable not having anything to offer all the time. Is this the character of a father and husband that loves?
Is this not enough reason to divorce him? From what you're saying, the man used to be hardworking etc until he got addicted to gambling and losses everything. Perhaps, his desire to have excess cash to take care of his family was the driving force behind it but it ended up that way. What the man need is rehabilitation not divorce and you will get your once lovely husband back.. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Is Gambling A Sin? by PROPHETmichael: 8:42am On Mar 12, 2023 |
Jokanem: Is Gambling a Sin?
Although the Bible does not discuss gambling in detail, we can discern from Bible principles that God views gambling as a sin.—Ephesians 5:17. a
Gambling is driven by greed, which God hates. (1 Corinthians 6:9, 10; Ephesians 5:3, 5)
Gamblers hope to gain money through the losses of others, but the Bible condemns coveting other people’s possessions.—Exodus 20:17; Romans 7:7; 13:9, 10.
Gambling, even for small amounts, can arouse a destructive love of money.—1 Timothy 6:9, 10.
Gamblers often rely on superstitions or luck. However, God views such beliefs as a form of idolatry, which is incompatible with his worship.—Isaiah 65:11.
Rather than promote a desire to get something for nothing, the Bible encourages hard work. (Ecclesiastes 2:24; Ephesians 4:28) Those who follow the Bible’s advice can “eat food they themselves earn.”—2 Thessalonians 3:10, 12.
Gambling can arouse an unhealthy competitive spirit, which is disapproved in the Bible.—Galatians 5:26. Gambling is not a sin, even the disciples of Jesus gambled when they wanted to decide who will replace Judas. Go and verify. |

These are same people who don't fail to always vote in same criminals all over and over again After that they will littered our street begging
Then when it is time for election instead of them to be sane They will put on that religion and tribalism again and vote the wrong people
And also for our brothers and sisters here in the south Despite they are aware of the situation but most of them always show I don't care altitude when it is time for voting. They will never come out and vote always leaving the future of Nigerians in the hands of Northerners do decide Please we should stop giving all those our southern brothers and sisters help too Imagine last week I called my cousin brother telling him to go and vote instead he replied telling me that "na ball he want go play on Saturday. Him nor get time for vote". This is someone with a pvc yet not willing to go out there and vote Am just waiting for him to do his normal begging of " bros find me small thing again " Then I will remind him of this election Solution: Before 2027 elections, INEC should partner with banks and linked each PVC to individual's bank account age 18 and above, verify it to make sure that the name matches with the account holder. The moment you vote, a special code is then sent to your mobile and without that code, u can't receive alert nor carry out transactions above 1000 naira for 6 months. This is the only way to improve voters turnout in Nigeria. Also, with this method, 90% of thugs will be busy standing on the queue to vote before thinking of been a nuisance. Note: This code must not display who or which party you voted for to avoid employees using it to deny people jobs or services |

Any Christian celebrating what is contrary to the bible commandment will end up in eternal pain. Do not celebrate Xmas to avoid regrettable consequences.
