Most times, i tend to believe that most Nairalanders lack the ability to hold intelligent discussion.
Everybody is here concentrating on the name of the team while leaving entirely the core issue.

This is one thing I like about Quora Digest. There, you will see people not derailing a post. You see high level of intelligent discussants.

That means you will experience some will other will be their in you but hardly experience it or may not even experience it at all.
But can pass the recessive trait to your children and it becomes a dominant trait in them.
Reason why you can have a child the is very hot tempered and you will be wondering where did this child get this kind of life from.
It is from you be the character was dormant in you while it becomes dominant in your child.

johnkay1:
I don't see anything bad in abortion but the two players must co-sign paper indicating they want to get rid of the pregnancy.

The world is over populated and if we don't control it aggressively nature will control it for us which will be worse.
Controlling the population aggressively starts from protective sex.
It can't start from aborting babies.
Getting pregnant can be avoided.
Don't go about having sex like dogs and fowls just with the believe that "I can abort it if it comes."
What about the danger on the head of the woman/lady/girl that wants to do the abortion?
What if she dies, or should we also take her death as part of the "aggressive control of our population?"
So think right.

You are definitely right, except the case is being judge, rightfully

But I think he who holds and claims the receipt wins the case
Yes, whoever has the receipt is the owner of the property.
In this case, the woman is not accusing the other of stealing the property.
So, there is a willing submission of property from the owner to the current possessor.
The case will be, on what condition was this property submitted to the possessor.
It's either by selling or as a collateral.
So the two persons need to convince the Judge that the property was given out either for outright sell or as a collateral.

If as sells, why didn't the current possessor collect the original receipt from the original owner. What is the evidence that she paid for the item?
If as a collateral, why did the original owner had to wait for 9 solid years before coming to redeem the property?
So, both of them need strong evidence to convince the Judge.
Crime › Re: Judgment Over An Accusation. by Psoul(m): 2:34pm On Apr 29, 2022
darling2222:
Many stories like this do happen, and one very important thing is, As I read, Vitim A is the rightful owner, but sure she will have to lose her property, because she can't provide the recept, which Vitim B claims to have
So ,the initial mistake she made was she didn't request for the recept when she bought it from Vitim B

The very important thing here now is the recept,so we shouldn't make such expensive mistake next time
It may not just be as easy as that.
The essential thing here is that there was a transaction between A and B.
I also believe that the transaction was done unofficially.
So the issue of who is in possession of the product's receipt may not be the determinant of how the case will go.
Woman A can still insist that when she bought the machine, B told her that she has lost the receipt not knowing that she purposely kept it to make trouble in the future.
So long as the issue of B accusing A of stealing the machine, B has more edge against B.

If B cannot provide the collateral agreement between her and A, she should not also bring up the issue of her possessing the receipt as an evidence cos it will be knocked out on the basis of unofficial transaction of gentleman's agreement.
If the machine was as a collateral, why didn't B came for her collateral and redeeming the agreement?
If actually finance was her problem, how many time did she approach A for extension of the agreement?
What was the duration of the said agreement?
An agreement that was supposed to last for 1yr and the borrower kept quiet for 9yrs means gross default of an agreement which gives the lender right to possess the collateral.
If actually that B wants to repossess the collateral, she will need to discuss with A and agree with her on her own terms or forfeit the collateral.

If I am A, I will even go with the option that she used the machine as a collateral cos that will give me more edge against B.

Dailyparrot:
I have been driving my car since 2019 but have never changed the tyre myself. Anytime the tyre has problem, there are always owomida people to help change it for a small fee.

It happened that I was driving from oshodi to Lekki and as I was approaching third mainland Bridge, my tyre collapsed.

I parked and started learning left hand at old age. I managed to change it but my palms felt it.

The sad thing is that immediately I was about tightening the nuts firm, two touts rushed to the place and seized the tyre that I brought out, asking that I should find them money.

This touting thing is a menace in Lagos. Less than 100 meters from there, we met a dead body of an NURTW who was wearing their tithe collection uniform and a stick in his hand. If it was a car that knocked him down, I can't tell.

But I commend Lagosians for having A1 in "Minding your business 101". The way people were driving pass the dead body, you would think it's a chicken that's lying fallow there.

This is the second dead body I'm seeing on Lagos road since this year. One was a decapitated body at Carter Bridge. They just used tyre to barricade it if not, cars will mistakenly run over the body because people drive at high speed there.

When I saw what happened to my hand, I just whispered to myself "How many times will they tell you that this country is not for you". grin

Imagine if I should take cutlass or hoe to farm now ? I guess I will be admitted in the intensive care unit of the hospital.

Please, what can I rub on this thing to reduce the pain and relieve it completely.

Then when it was turned on, the fan blade kiled it and it became a kind of clog on the blade which made the AC to start malfunctioning.

Meanwhile, this is a one storey building office. This happened at the upper floor. No building close to the Office. No tree close to it and we wonder how this creeper managed to get into the AC.

My father has been selling his landed properties since 2006, since I was still a little boy.. my fore fathers were among those founders who discovered our town...so huge landed estates were passed down to our lineage...up to this moment my uncle's and aunts have their own share of land intacts... but my dad has almost sold All his own.

*He sold to marry a new wife in 2009

*He sold to develop a small plot in 2011

*he sold to collect a chieftaincy title in 2015

and many combined little selling he's been doing, I had no ideal of

fast forward to 7years later he's left with little plots and some he took from loan defaulters, just this morning I got a call from my elder sister that my dad is about selling the little plot left... I asked to do what, she said she doesn't know yet. As at now am really angry hence me asking if there's anything we the children can do to stop my dad from selling the little plots left even though it's his.. he's the owner, don't we have a say? isn't there any legal law that can stop him.

A friend of mine he's Still enjoying wealth his grand Father left for his father and his father to him, all he did was just to renovate them and dude is packing more than a millionaire yearly from those estate. why would mine be different. Davido did well because his father's a big man who gave him a starting point, same with jowi zaza that guy can never go broke because of his father...

note: I don't think he's trying to wicked us, I know he won't sell all.. but at least the one he had sold his more than the one left... and it won't be enough to share to my siblings and I.... if he leaves this world today... why would he still be selling more. ( am not praying for him to die or anything...but life is common sense) is not a bad thing if a parent gives his children a starting point like his father did.

Besides it doesn't make sense for me to be looking for land to buy when my family is known as one of the owners of the town...my cousin's are even talking behind our back.

legal advice needed please
In as much as the property is rightly his, he has every right to sell them.
Morally, he should not sell off those property.
Even the Bible has this to say concerning such attitude:

Proverbs 13:22: “A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children.” (NKJV)

Proverbs 19:14
House and wealth are an inheritance from fathers,
But a prudent wife is from the Lord.

Joshua 16:4
The sons of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, received their inheritance.

Legally, you father has committed no offence.
Morally, he may be seen as not been fair to his family.

Another area to look into is how you, the children are comporting yourselves.
Is you father encourage by what he is seeing among you. If he is not encouraged, he may be tempted to enjoy his wealth while alive instead of leaving them in the hands of "worthless" children.

I have seen a man that had many goats and his kids are just something else. The man kept killing, eating and selling off those goats before he died. He was not impressed by the lifestyles of his children. He chose to enjoy his wealth while alive.

This book right here made our childhood days awesome.

Teachers then ensured we commit it to memory even if one couldn't pronounce or identify each word for word.

As I try to reminisce about this book. I could aptly see how our culture was portrayed in the book usually a one in a million for primary three pupils.

Our education standard was still something to reckon with back then.

Try to read between the lines, you will understand that a family is a unit that is very important in a community.

If a home fails to bring up their children uprightly, it's sure that the society will be wrecked.

Try to revisit all these books used way back in the 80's and 90's you will understand why values should be taught from homes before expecting teachers and government to emulate same.

My love for this book and the characters knows no bounds.

My Sienna 2004 can't engage reverse gear.
The issues started when I noticed that there was a leakage from the gear box.
I drove the car for a distance of about 75km that day. I started noticing that the reverse gear hardly engages. I took the car to mechanic and the oil was totally drained and replaced with 7 liters of Transmission fluid. This could not fix the problem.

Please could this mean that the gearbox has to be replaced. Could there have been a serious damage to the gearbox.
Is there any suggestion on what to do. I don't have very good mechanics where I am now. So I don't want to risk letting them work on my gearbox. What is the approximate cost of fairly used gearbox?

Note: before changing the oil, other gears will shout before engaging. Climbing hill was not smooth. After changing the oil, all the gears became perfect except reverse. Climbing of hills became easy without struggle.
