Kai, i said it once, nairaland has a ridiculously high population of self-hating,envious,failures. Which artiste (world over) does not sample other songs. Wizkid is awesome, call him razz, call him anything,he is good. Yes,he uses auto tune,so does lil' wayne and a host of others, if using auto tunes was that easy Mujinho4b,Bluetooth and their likes should go release their own songs. Rubbish!

For lots of guys Baldness can be a nightmare, especially for those whose hair compliments their looks. Now that your hair is falling off,has your life changed? How do women respond to you? Has your confidence level witnessed a lull?
I began balding in my mid twenties.it was a horrible experience for me cos i had long hair in my university days and the ladies loved it. Now in my 30s,i still have hair but the tip of my head has become a helipad. Should i go the 'gorimapka' way,or just leave it as it is? Cos i know that gorimakpa does not fit everybody. Ladies out there, what do you do when your man is going bald?

@nyameke: If according to you,90million Nigerians are living below poverty line, out of a population of about 150 million,it kinda means that about 60million Nigerians are not doing too badly, right?, That's over twice Ghana's population, not too bad. Get this into your silly head, most of the big Nigerian companies in Ghana have their head quarters and branches in and around Nigerian cities. Also,i suggest you visit Gambia,Sao tome,Benin,Togo etc you'll see more Nigerian companies there. So what are we doing for our 90million 'poor' people? Well, take the chinese for example, about 500 million chinese live below the poverty line, yet you see chinese companies in all parts of the world. These global companies are established strictly with the intention to make profits, and these profits goes back to motherland China. Same with Nigerian companies in Ghana, all their profits returns to Nigeria and is used to expand and grow their businesses in Nigeria,in doing this more jobs are created for our 'unemployed' Nigerians. But i'm sure you dont understand half of what i've just explained, that's the effect of too much kenkey.

Fellow Nairalanders, let's END this thread. Mr Moderator, over to you!

Unfortunately, many self-hating Nigerians dont know the difference between loving 'Nigeria, the country' and loving 'Nigerian government'. Our musicians have become a continental success and if u listen to their songs, they never miss an opportunity to hail Nigeria's greatness. Most of the self-hating Nigerians u've met here are Ghanaians who were born and bred in Nigeria. many have assimilated into the yoruba cultures, unfortunately, growing up amongst Nigerians has still not helped them conquer their innate Ghanaian spirit of inferiority, thus Nairaland is an avenue to vent their frustrations. The other bona fide self hating Nigerians, who are pure breed naija, can be described as chronic failures, they'll never see anything good in themselves or in anybody. They fail in ANY country they find themselves in. And they always have an excuse for their failures.

Finally,i hope my post will mark an end to this thread,we have given many Ghanaians a sense of belonging by even mentioning them continously on our Nairaland. There's a proverb in Igbo land which says that 'it is through play play that you know the true heart of a man'. Ghanaian MEN hate Nigerians with a mad passion,Ghanaian WOMEN love Nigerians with a very subtle but intense passion. Nigeria will never divide, mark my words. 1966 was the only time it would have ever happened. Nigeria's integration is far deeper than what we saw btw north & south Sudan. Also as a political scientist,i would be a fool like many nairalanders to pray for 'upright politicians' to rule us. Its like praying to own a lion that will not eat meat. Politicians WORLD OVER are greedy & selfish, the only difference being that in advanced countries of US,Europe & Asia, their politicians have mastered the art of merging their personal interests with national interests, thus the nation prospers, they prosper. Nigerian & some African politicians' mantra is 'i prosper, f**k my nation'.

Dude, please remain in South Africa or wherever you say you live. People like you really have nothing to contribute to Nigeria. You talk about SA as if that country started at the same time as Nigeria. FYI, SA was already a full fledged developed country by the 1930s at least. Same as Egypt. The British who ran those colonies adopted a totally different policy there which involved committing funds from national resources to national development. This is why SA and Egypt had their first universities in the 1880s while in Nigeria, the same British, while evacuating our natural resources for over a century, put nothing back in terms of infrastructure, and refused to build any higher institutions  until 1960, when they were about to be kicked out. Even literacy remained at an abject 7%. (Contrast that with 75% today under indigenous rule).

So stop comparing Nigeria to South Africa. They had a hundred years head start on the rest of black Africa in terms of development.

GOD BLESS YOU ROSSIKK

This 'playmode' original poster guy is just one of those 'over critical' Nigerians who have no idea of what nation building entails. Truly, our leadership has failed woefully, but while other nations like Ghana,SA,India manage to put their best foot forward,Nigerians enjoy collaborating with the western media to tell the world how terrible our country is. Aljazeera will never showcase the good sides of Calabar,Lagos Island,VI or Abuja. They are even reluctant to show clips of the new look Oshodi,a view which used to be favorite years back with crowds and molues all mingled together.
Whenever there a tragedy involving loss of lives in other countries, their governments and citizens endeavour to downplay and even reduce the body count. But in Nigeria, whenever there is a crises,OUR OWN JOURNALISTS will be struggling in inflate the actual loss of lives. The Police/Army crises in Badagry yesterday, official reports say that 2 lives were lost. But lo and behold, some Nigerian Journalists have come out to say 8 policemen were killed, others have said,No its 10, Alajazeera will simply summarize this news and tell the world that 20 police men in Lagos have been ambushed and killed by Northern soldiers. When mugus like Playmode hear this, they now start post trash on how terrible Nigeria is.
God help us.
Christianity Etc › Re: Why The 'Daddy' Craze In Our Churches? by publisher(m): 7:48pm On May 24, 2011
@OP:
I think its the protestants' way of further smuggling catholic doctrines (which they once criticised) into their own way of life. When i was much younger,in secondary school, alot of protestants did attack my catholic faith, asking questions such as 'why should we go for confession? Why must we call our priests 'Father', Why are our masses too short,we dont allow holy spirit to guide our church services, Who gave the pope authority over all catholics?

Well today, some pastors have claimed ultimate authority over their subjects,i mean worshippers and they prefer to be called GOs (General overseers)- (Mini Popes).

Today, many protestants visit their pastors and confess their sins to them, and the pastor prays over them, gives them bible verses to read, and their sins are forgiven. - (Confession)

I also understand that RCCG has streamlined its services in all its outposts, with schedules/time tables, making every service shorter, about an hour or so and uniform.

And ofcourse, they now enjoy calling their pastors with their wives, daddy and mummy! (father & mother)

Protestants love to quote Saint Paul, but many fail to understand that though Paul was a great follower of Christ, his calling and ministry was more of a punishment and an act of penance for the multitudes of christ followers he had killed. Paul was not a 'gentile champion', cos Christ had already instructed his disciples to preach to ALL nations, long before Saul's conversion.

In my own bible (though many protestant bibles have turned this upside down) Christ told Peter, and Peter alone that 'you are the rock and on this rock i will build my church'. He wasnt talking to James,Andrew or Paul,he spoke to Peter. And today, the catholic church remains the only church that traces its history down to saint Peter, after over 2000years. Its also the largest, and the most important christian celebration which is Easter was determined by the catholic church, Christmas too, excepted for the eastern rites (still somewhat catholic) who picked January 6th.

Final analysis sha,our churches catholic or protestants will not take us to heaven, neither will our fathers and mothers in israel. But it does pay to belong to the right setting.

How many Nigerians of other ethnic groups have YOU personally killed?
Just because we have touts and criminals who kill at the slightest opportunity, doesnt mean that MAJORITY of Nigerians are like that.
I made reference to Mexico, please google on their recent drug turf war, were people are murdered, excecuted everyday and i mean everyday. Does that make an average Mexican a blood thirsty drug baron?
Nigerians have integrated deeply, that doesnt mean we dont have dissidents. America may have a 'black president' yet there are still areas in America where a black,or Latino will not dare to live in,even though he/she has a constitutional right to live anywhere in America. Does that make USA a bad country? Just because we have constant religious issues in just about 6 Nigerian states, the majority of 30 states where Nigerians of all ethnic groups are living peacefully does not counthuh

Please use your brains if u have one.

Nairalanders, myself inclusive,do allow our emotions to get the better part of us,especially when it comes to Nigeria issues. Let me state here categorically,NIGERIA WILL NEVER DIVIDE. We may fight more wars, muslims and xtians may continue to kill each other but any division be it along ethnic or religious lines cannot work. Many people dont know that inspite of all our problems,Nigerians have deeply integrated. In a state like Kaduna for example, you will find yorubas and igbos who have no idea of the which areas of southern Nigeria they originate from. Same with alot of Hausas in the south. Lagos has a slight majority of muslims, most of Lagos governors have been muslims, yet,no tensions. We have allowed the international media to tell us that Nigeria is made up of Muslim North and Xtian south. Forgeting that in South-west Nigeria, muslims are a slight majority,in North-central Nigeria,Christians are a clear majority.
Our mission really should be improving the lives of all Nigerians, regardless of their tribe or religion. Do u guys really think that south west, south east or south-south can function as seperate countries of their own?

Here's a serious shocker,do u guys know that majority of those killed in the recent post -election violence were muslims? Yes,we lost 10corpers in Bauchi, but most of the deaths were in Kaduna,in a certain muslim village about 400 people were massacared, but the government decided to surpress the story. Kaduna has a 50/50 xtian ,muslim ratio. Would u guys also believe that NO LIVES were lost in Kano state? Christians were also not targeted in Maiduguri. We need to curtail our press and information mgt.

More people have been murdered in Mexico this past year, than all the religious crises we've had in Nigeria for the past 10years. These Mexicans are murdered in a sensless drug turf war,yet Mexico is still an international tourist destination, till tommorrow.

Yet,those citizens get drunk like mad, i'm refering to southern africans here. I remember during one of my trips to Accra,i was at a nite club (Jokers) and i consumed like 9 bottles of small stout(there was no big stout),was mixing it with red bull, people around were like hailing 'charleeeey',some waited patiently for me to pass out, especially the ashanti ladies that kept me company. Back then Guiness stout consumed in GH was brewed by Guinness Nigeria. I dont remember getting high or anything, i made my way back to new coco beach resort at teshie lungwa, dealt with my ashanti queens, used condoms and went on with my 'very' busy life.
Romance › Re: The Ugly Truth About Men,women Take Note. by publisher(op): 6:26pm On May 05, 2011
from OP

Permit me to once again play the devil's advocate and let you all in on a little secret. I'm specifically directing this to some folks on this thread who have made references to the bible.
Let me start by saying categorically,POLYGAMY is NOT a sin.
The bible does say that man shall leave his parents and cleave to his wife etc, that's true. But that doesnt mean it has to be just ONE woman.
Look at it this way,the bible said you should love your neighbour as yourself,in other words become ONE with your neighbours. Now would we say that the bible was inferring or referring that we love just ONE neighbour? So,we can then conclude that it is possible to become ONE with more than one persons. Thus, a man can leave his parents and cleave to many wives(if he so desires) and become ONE with each of them, same way he loves his neighbours as himself.
Many xtians proudly quote and read about David and King Solomon, these two great men of God had btw them many wives and concubines but guess what? God never punished them for having many wives and concubines,as a matter of fact when David goofed and took poor Uriah's wife,God, while rebuking him even told him that 'i made you king of israel and rescued you from saul. I gave you his kingdom and his wives, if this had not been enough,i would have give you twice as much' (2 Samuel 7-cool.
As a man,be you a monogamist or polygamist, the real deal is being responsible to your family,if you are not,the bible describes you as being worse than an infidel. Responsibilty here goes beyond f'king just your wife alone, but paying the bills, keeping your kids happy, protecting the integrity of your family i.e even if you gotta 'creep', shine your eyes and remember where your loyalty lies.

The main problem women face today is their misguided views on 'women liberation',instead of pursuing their liberation within the context of a home, with the man as LORD & HEAD,they seek equal status with men,and what has that gotten them? Delayed or No marriage, single motherhood,co-habitation,frustration, florishing of 'singles & married' ministries, relationship paranoya, or whatever!!!

Someone please tell me i'm saying the truth grin   LOL!!!!!
Romance › Re: The Ugly Truth About Men,women Take Note. by publisher(op): 11:06am On May 05, 2011
@rully2

The problem with most people is our inabilities to embrace life and life in its totality. We all just wanna embrace the 'good' things of life and ignore the 'bad', most times relying on our religious beliefs to deal with the 'bad'. But we must embrace life's good and bad,
Do you know why many marriages in the advanced countries like say USA, dont last? Its because institutions like hollywood and romantic book authors have painted an ideal picture of true love, romance and the myth of 'happily ever after'. Ironically, these same institutions also promote promiscuity in its highest form.
Do you know why most of our parents and grand parents had longlasting marriages? Well, believe me,they had 'true love'. Most people especially women of today have narrowed down true love to 'sexual fidelity' alone. On the other hand, our mothers and grand mothers got married with the mindset of accepting their husbands in its TOTALLITY,realizing that they are first and foremost MEN and that she submits herself to him. Our mothers and grandmothers did not go about seeking to catch their hubbys creeping with younger girls, but if and when their hubby fail to provide for the families needs, thats when all hell breaks loose,or if he comes home with an illegitimate child.
Many argue that women of old sacrificed their happiness in other to save their marriages, that is actually true. But their own concept of ultimate happiness was different. Our girls today look at the 'now',their husbands cheat, they get mad, divorce him,get stuck with confused children who become prone to numerous psychological issues and guess what? She finds another man but still realise that all men cheat. She grows old despaired, starts spending more time on nairaland & looking for trouble like 'tpia@'.
Our women of old managed their husbands in other to save their family units. No matter how terrible their husbands were,as they aged a bond developed btw them, she knew him inside out and he knew her inside out, thats true love. And their kids, growing up in a complete home made them sane and confident, and when grand kids come into the picture,a new kind of love is rekindled. Thats real life!

These are just my honest views, you dont have to agree with them,

PS: I am a nice guy!

The essence of this article is to give women a rare insight on why men do the things they do. A lot of women have suffered and are still suffering from heartbreaks from men they loved and could even have given their lives for.
Many women still search for logical reasons as to why men cheat, and that 'logic' no matter how twisted it may seem is what i've tried to express in this article.
The idea is not to depress women, but to arm them with wisdom and knowledge on certain truths they dont get to hear everyday.

No knowledge is wasted!!!

To you ladies out there, enough with the heartbreaks and fear of heartbreaks. I present to you the true nature of men,you dont have to agree with all these points but i assure you that digesting this write-ups will make your life better, somehow!!!

1. Most Men cannot have sex exclusively with just one woman, for the rest of their lives.
2.Men are created with varied sexual appettite, some men can do without sex for a year, others cannot do without sex for a week.
3.A man who's madly in love with one woman can still have sex with other women but still love his 'woman'.
4.Some of the best husbands have concubines or mistresses, these extra marital affairs play a role in keeping the man sane and free of sexual tensions, especially during mid-life crises.
5.If your man is just having sex with some sweet sexy teen or babe,DO NOT WORRY. But,if your man starts making midnite calls and exchanging text messages with another lady at odd hours, BE VERY WORRIED.
6.Before you choose your man, ensure he believes in AIDs, STDs and protected sex. That way, chances are that he will not bring HIV and other STDs into your life.
7. Most chronic wife beaters are faithful husbands, they hardly have extramarital affairs.
8. Most 'extra' loving husbands have concubines, these concubines keep the man abreast on new ways of making women happy.
9.Your man's mistress or concubine is most times not interested in you or your home. She has already seen ur pictures and those of your kids via your hubbys fone. She and your hubby just have a sexual understanding or partnership which helps both deal with peculiar individual issues.
10. As a woman,if you go all out in a bid to catch your husband red-handed cheating, you WILL succeed. Then what next? If u listen hard to ur domestic servants in their private discussions,u will certainly hear them insult you, so why listen?
11. Judge your man by his responsibilities towards you and the kids, and NOT by who he's giving 'doggie style' to in the office.
12.If u feel cheated as a woman,go out and also look for an affair. If your kids suddenly discover that mum and dad both have or had extra marital affairs, guess what? They'll still love their daddy more than you,and will still go to him for relationship advice.
13. A group of married men can sit in a public beer palour and openly discuss their extra marital affairs, but you'll never find out. On the other hand,as a married woman,if u answer 'Tyron's' fone call in a hair saloon filled with strangers, your husband is likely going to find out.
14.Take it or leave it,as a wife, you can NEVER satisfy your husband sexually no matter how hard you try. Not that he doesnt enjoy sex with you but as his wife and mother of his kids,he cannot impose his deep animalistic and erotic sexual desires on you. As for his concubine, even if he gives her stitches in her anus, he wont feel bad about it.
15. Finally, when the bible says that 'no one is perfect', it wasnt joking.

Goodluck ladies!!!
Romance › Re: Caught My Fiance Cheating: Kai, What Should I Do? by publisher(m): 5:17pm On May 03, 2011
Its about time most women learn that if they go all out in a bid to catch their men red handed cheating, they are most likely going to succeed.

Women should get real and realise that men are wired differently from them. A man can sleep with a woman he doesnt even like as a person and still have great sex with her,so long as her body has it all takes. Women on the other hand, find it difficult having sex with men without emotions(many attempt to fake being non emotional). Even a prostitute,if she's picked up by a client who ends up treating her well like a normal chic ,she's most likely gonna start f, king him for free from then on.

Women should not be worried about who their men sleep with, rather they should be worried only when their men develops an EMOTIONAL attachement with another woman. Thats when she knows that she has lost him forever,

We in the south should not derail from obasanjo's master plan which sees the south being in constant alliance with the more progressive middle belt.
