PSYCHOLOGY must have played a significant role in our boys failures yesterday, first they start missing chances, then the Guineans delay tactics and then they remember a prominent preachers prophecy  shocked shocked. A lot of people believe that the black race is just ONE race, i disagree. The black race has many sub races and this may or may not be as a result of inter-racial mixing. For the observing eye, you'ld notice that Igbos, black southern Africans,Southern cameroonians,Equitorial Guinean and Congolese tend to have similar physical features i.e lighter skin, firm semi pointed nose, etc. One can easily mistaken many black south African women for Igbo. Yoruba's on the other hand share similar physical features with Ghanaians,Burkinabes,Togolese etc. An average Ghanaian can pass for a Yoruba man, anyday.

The SOUTHERN SUDANEES blacks are something else. Hard core DUDU.

Has anyone also noticed that Yoruba women from ONDO state tend to be the most beautiful from Yoruba land? Though many say its because of their interraction and inter marriages with the riverine ijaws/igbos. But for hinterland Yorubas like Ekiti,Osun,Oyo;e' get as e be! smiley

As for Yoruba men,in spite of their percieved high education, many of them end up becoming laid back and lazy husbands, their sometimes semi-educated wives do end up becoming bread winners through market trade and commerce. Its only in Yoruba land that you see siblings fighting and killing themselves over properties that their late MOTHER built. To make matter worse, these siblings including the males always have different surnames cos their mother had babies for two sometimes THREE different men.

LOL Look at this troll

There's a popular market in New York where you can get African good. Bronx Terminal Market. Ask everyone what happened last year

Everyone is now buying from the Ghanaians because an Igbo man killed his brother over money. He was one of the successful ones there but seeing that blood lust runs in your veins, why not ruin a good thing

You want me to post the various articles of Igbo men slaashing their wives here in the States? Better stop drinking and wake up. Wife makes one cent more than them and husbands go ape shyt, cutting up their wives like suya.
@Thief of heart-

Most Yorubas on this thread have suddenly become defensive as per the main topic.

Here's my own opinion:
I have seen and encountered both Yoruba and Igbo wife beaters, but the reality is that ;while the Igbo husband who's beating up his wife can still make reference to the huge bride price he 'wasted' on this 'his stubborn wife'. The Yoruba husband who's beating up his wife,is most likely being FED by the same woman he's beating up. Someone please tell me i'm lying?
Yorubas have the most educated MALE folks in Nigeria while IGBOS have the most educated FEMALE folks in Nigeria. One would have thought that this fact ought to have made Igbo ladies more 'head strong' but luckily,Igbo men and culture have some in built mechanisms that have favoured the Igbo marriage. Igbo men,no matter how illiterate ,ALWAYS strive to provide for his family, because in Igbo land, your family is your true source of pride.

if there is riot in the north whether it done by us or not you people are quick to blame us

why?

i guess this is a wake up call for southerners
Aboki, dont be too much in a haste to exonorate your people (northerners). Afterall,it is your own prominent leaders that haboured these illegal immigrants and used them to cause destructions in many parts of northern Nigeria for political gains. Unfortunately, most of your prominent leaders who once backed these killers are now being closely monitored by the SSS in collaboration with the FBI. Thus, they have abandoned these Nigeriens and Chadians to their fate. Out of hunger and frustration, these immigrants are now unleashing terror, looting and killing innocent members of their host communities.
Politics › Nigeriens, chadians Finally Turn Against Nigerian Hausas by publisher(op): 1:18pm On Oct 03, 2011
In recent weeks an unusual trend seems to have started emerging,in Niger state and just recently Zamfara state where hausa settlements and traders are being attacked and killed by fellow hausa/fulani herds men. Ironically these attacks started when the Nigerian Government began identifying and massively deporting hausa/fulanis immigrants from Niger republic and Chad.

Obviously,it does seem that Nigerian Hausas are begining to realize that they are being used by Hausas and Fulanis from poorer neighbours who actually envy Nigerian Hausas for being part of Nigeria. Many Hausas and Kanuris in northern Nigeria seem to have started cooperating with Nigerian security officers in the area of intelligence gathering, this may not have gone down well with the immigrants, thus an upsurge in attacks against Hausa settlements, especially those closer to the border.

GEJ may be the most insulted president in Nigerian history but it does seem that whatever he lacks in brute, aggression, hardness,he may infact have made up for it in wisdom. Jonathan's 'Goliaths' may have envisage a situation in which Jonathan commits most of his resources and time in battling 'religious sects' while the nation remains backward, similar to what Obj experienced as president battling Niger Delta militants while oil flow kept on dropping. Jonathan may have appealed to the Nigerianness of some core northerners.

I could be wrong, but let's see how it all plays out.

It’s funny how we struggle to keep up with international standards in our fashion, music, food, education etc. But, it ceases to be the same when it comes to the area of language.
Someone suddenly realises that English is not their mother tongue. So, why do you give birth to children and keep him/her from speaking ‘vernacular’?!
Young man, dont be silly. Fashion, music, food and education can be adapted to suit ones own culture(s),Nigerians have even adapted the english language to suit our culture,we call it pidgin english.
Listen good, just because my accent makes my 'Ask' sound like 'Axe',or as an Indian my 'Work' sounds like 'Vork' ,does that make me ignorant of the English language? The ONLY people who can pronounce English language words the way it ought be pronounced are the English themselves. If what you are advocating is that we also adopt Engish accents in order to improve our pronounciations, then just say it. Afterall no one can pronounce Yoruba words properly using an Igbo accent,it goes with all languages.

Geeeeez, some Nairalanders sha

APPRECIATE - APPRECIONATE

The REAL leaders are the ones who humble themselves in spite of the powers at their disposal, and carry the sane segments of their citizens along.

Romance › Re: What Is Behind Late Marriages For Ladies ? by publisher(m): 1:05pm On Sep 24, 2011
When it comes to late marriages, women will always be at the loosing end. We all must understand that even though God made humans to become 'higher' animals,we are still 'animals'. The way God designed ALL animals,he gave us 'mating seasons',every set of animals created by God have mating seasons, once any female animal fails to take advantage of that season, she looses the opportunity for procreation. For ladies, their mating season is between 18yrs to 25yrs,this is the age at which any NORMAL woman should find her ideal mate and start having children. The Good Lord in his mercies added jara to women by giving them 'going going' extra time which is between the ages of 26yrs and 29yrs,as from thirty years the woman enters danger zone,as the yoruba would say,'won ti 'ta' ti',i.e dem don sell finish, close shop.
Many women in a bid to acertain their so called equality with their male counterparts have also fallen into this mess. They keep forgetting that a man of 50yrs can still LEGALLY get married to an 18 year old girl and have lots of children with her, no shaken!
Anyways,i believe their eyes don clear now as even one of their role models BEYONCE,don jejely get belle inside her husband house. even as many other single old cargoes dey psyche themselves say 'Girls run the world'. grin grin grin

PS: Ladies no vex,i'm just trying to dish out some tuff luv over here, still love u guys. LOL!!!

a couple of nigerians were arrested in northern Cyprus wen i was a student der nd d police dmanded a guarantor b4 dey could release dem, so som1 was sent to istanbul to meet d ambassador bt he said he cant come because TRNC is not a recognized country to nigeria govt so he cant come to bail anyone out. can you imagine such a statement from my country´s ambassador ?

I understand your point of view.
But it still doesn't change anything. I did not say people should not go to other countries. In fact, because of our population I believe we should be well represented in many nations, just like Chinese and Indians. I would prefer, though, that we are known for good, not for all this foolish one naira crimes that we keep committing all over the place, drugs and credit card fraud.

Nigeria is where we all came from. We have to do better for Nigeria. The leaders may be hard nuts to crack today, but remember, nothing stays the same for ever. Start contributing to people's lives, people at the grassroots who are suffering the effects of bad leadership. You'd be surprised at what a little good can achieve. You might help someone today, and he might become the president tomorrow.

These countries we all relocate to were no better than Nigeria at some point. But people fought and worked hard for the reality that we all rush towards today. It's time that we also pay the price so our children can know a better Nigeria.
God bless you AjanleKoko.
You've said my mind jare. Most Nigerians dont want to read the history of some of these advanced countries that they are now rushing to. Black Africans are generally unable to make great personal sacrifices for the future generations of their country, the few who try are often refered to as 'silly'. But we loathe our countries and send our people overseas. Why wont most Africans experience discrimination and racism? If my father struggled his whole life to build  a mansion for me and my siblings, will an outsider(from another family) move into our mansion and expect to enjoy the benefits of my fathers labour? It cant happen!
