God bless you and have a safe trip sharing this was very useful for others too to see have a lovely trip Ejoseblazer: Study Permit Approved!
Date of Submission: 20th January 2021 Passport Receipt Date: 27th April 2021 (Delivered via courier) VFS Centre of Submission: Port Harcourt
STUDY PERMIT PACK/DOCUMENTS USED;
1. Application Form (DHA - 1738) fully completed in black ink only
2. Two identical passport size (35mm widthx45mm height) photographs on white background showing the complete face (took the passport photographs at N1,000 the same day of my study visa submission).
3. A valid passport
4. Copy of passport data page (2 colored copies).
5. Self-introduction letter with my physical address and phone number (made it one page). Also included my current job and why I need to go for a Masters, and specifically why the course (Industrial Engineering) and school (DUT) and my plans after studies.
6. Introduction/Recommendation letter from my employer, signed with contact details, (with physical address and phone numbers). Included was just my date of employment, role, and awareness of the fact that I am planning to leave for studies.
7. Seven days verifiable hotel reservation/bookings done directly with: HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS DURBAN - UMHLANGA https://www.ihg.com/holidayinnexpress/hotels/us/en/reservation
8. Copy of international traveling certificate (yellow fever card) duly and fully completed by a health practitioner. Spent roughly N5,000 to get them together and I did the vaccination too.
9. Proof of financial status (bank statement from salary account-6 months and 3 months from another personal account) (Original, Stamped & Signed by the bank authority)
My salary account had around N5,000 while the other had over a N1million (bulk of it was deposited the same day I printed the statement of account, this is not advisable though).
The reason I used the 6 months is due to the nature of my work, where I had to work for 3 months paid, and 3 months no work no pay. The 3 months unpaid fell within the point of visa application, so I had to get up to 6 months statement to validate my claims of employment.
10. Non-Refundable Visa Fee of around N60,000 (inclusive of service charge), this is high since I submitted my application in Port Harcourt.
11. Booked Verifiable Flight (free without charges). Kenya Airways from Lagos to Durban.
12. Police Clearance (spent around N25,000), since I did not do it in Lagos.
13. Medical Report spent around N7,000 for the medical test, with a government hospital gave me a hospital report, with their letter-head and still endorsed the medical report document I printed from the visa application website.
14. Radiological Report (the Doctor at the government hospital recommended me to do it with a private diagnostic center where I did mine), spent around N9,000 After doing the test, the hospital gave me a hospital report, with their letterhead, and still endorsed the radiological report document I printed from the visa application website.
15. An official letter confirming provisional acceptance at Durban University of Technology (DUT) and the duration of the course. Included in this letter is 100% tuition waiver.
16. Letter of Undertaking from DUT, provided by Department of International Education & Partnership
17. Proof of annual medical cover payment from momentum health insurance (paid R5460, roughly around N165,000 when I paid because I made the payment at the black market price).
18. Proof of membership from momentum health insurance (this was sent to my mail within 24 hours after paying the R5460)
I return all Glory to GOD |

Travel › Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by pufframmy: 2:00pm On Apr 09, 2021 |
wow are u currently staying in SA DrOA: Getting a job with a study permit is difficult in SA. But within the university you are studying, you can be given jobs as a tutor or marker or whatever. 2. Payment of tuition is not expected in full. You can always pay part. 3. Durban and Cape town are both good location. However, Cape town is more expensive than Durban. 4. After the completion of your study, you can always apply for critical skills visa without leaving SA. And from there to PR. This is the process I followed. |

yes oo congratulation you can help others with documents submitted so they can learn too contentment24: Good day everyone, I submitted my visa application on December 10th 2020 and after much waiting, I started following update from comments on Nairaland, I even almost gave up with the people complaining of their application being denied. My chances were very low, Passport Issue date is Dec 08, 2020, Visa Application Date is Dec 10, 2020, the same picture I have on passport is what I have on passport photograph for the visa application. After much waiting and about to give up, I saw an email of one Veronica Loving and I sent her an email on the 09/03/2021 no reply, sent her another 12/03/2021 no reply, then I sent another direct email to their Lagos DHA on 18/03/2021 no reply. But luckily on the 19/03/2021 I got an email from VFS that my visa application and been processed and collected from SA high commission. Today 22/03/2021 I just collect my number passport from UPS and I was giving 3 months multiple entry visa. So my people don’t allow another person’s visa denial to discourage you. Just think positive and be prayerful.. Who did is? JESUS. |

congrat dear Kemo88: Had my appointment and my visa was approved. A lot of people were rejected. As usual there was a VO rejecting almost everyone and I was praying not to be sent there. We were all standing in front of the VOs. I was the last on the queue. At some point it was a lady and I left there other people behind us were still taking finger prints. It was the lady’s turn but the VO directly in front of us asked me to come to him and he sent the lady to another VO. The VO who called on me wasn’t the one Viciously rejecting people but he just rejected the 3 People before me My transcript: VO: *cracks an initial joke and laughs Me: *laughing even though I didn’t hear what he said
Me: good morning
VO : good morning, how are you today
Me: im ok , how about yourself?
VO: I’m great ... so why are you going to the US
Me: holiday
VO: how long?
Me: about 3 weeks
VO : where are you going
Me : *mentions name of city
VO: What’s the longest time you spent in the US
Me: 5months
VO: can you tell me about that?
Me: I was on an F1 visa, went as a Graduate student
VO: *cuts me short* was that a semester course ?
Me: no, it was a two year program , I Came home a lot at every chance I got
VO: You were missing home?
Me: yes.
VO: what school did you go?
Me;*******
VO: so what countries have you been to asides the US?
Me: Canada , UK, Dubai and the US.. oh sorry You Saïd asides the US..
VO: *laughs * yes cos I can see here that you have been to the US a gazillion multiple times ... so tell me about your last trip to the US?
Me: I travelled for a week, went on tour(mentioned some tourism attractions in the city I went) , did some shopping.
VO: you married?
Me: yes
VO : how many kids do you have?
Me: A cute little one
VO: are you traveling with your husband and child ?
Me: not at this time
VO: why?
Me: I need some me time really...
VO: *laughs* some me time?
Me: You know what I mean
VO : *laughs* yeah I do ... so what do you do for work?
Me: I’m a surgeon, I work at ***** I do **** surgeries, reconstruct bla bla (my comfort zone so I spent time there)
VO: Wow! you sound like you love what you do?
Me: im pretty passionate about it.
VO: are you visiting family?
Me: no I’m not
Vo placed my passport On the blue paper and my heart sunk. Then he says :
VO: I won’t be returning your passport at this time cos we have decided to give you A visa.
He brought out white paper.
Hé was friendly but more friendly with the 2 people He had rejected just before me. So I was nervous. I was worried also cos for every approval there were like 10 rejections. Most approvals were renewals.
This was my longest us visa interview. I don’t know why. thank God for everything |
