Chei! u too dey follow them carry rumour huh huh huh huh if na play stop am o! grin grin grin grin grin grin

I don't think the president or whoever will be that stupid though if in the unlikeliest event that it happens Nigeria's credit rating will nose-dive like a rocket out of control and what will happen to the stock market i don't even want to contemplate!
I don't believe the rumour either but it does fell like some people do and it is reflecting in the blood letting on the banking floor. Foreign investors just need to have doubts and they sit on the fence. Something does not look right sha.

@WASKY-WAJA

I read about your friend's situation and this is my own take. Let me just touch this on the surface because I am really pressed for time and I've got to run.

- The risk is very high because of the 6 months window. If the window is 1 year, I will be less critical.
- There is a debate as to wether N40M is a lot of money or not. I suspect that for this chap it is. For one thing, having to borrow it and also that this is considered a big opportunity for him.
- Paying the interest in advance suggests that your friend does not have a steady source of income external to the portfolio that can be used to meet up with the interest payments. Further buttresses the point that N40M is probably a lot of money to this chap.

All above is BTW. Let us look at the operations. You will have the money for 6 months, but you won't be able to trade for the entire 6 months. There will always be lead times and so maybe you can trade for about 5 months before you need to pay up the loan.

CICO will be very risky because it is not unusual for CICO to take as much as 3 months to hit your set target. This means some of your funds may not be able to complete 2 cycles before payback is due.

CICO with money that is not yours may not give you High BP but it may prevent you from staying in long enough to take your profit.

I will recommend you split the funds. Maybe about 25% CICO and medium term for the rest. The floor is bleeding right now. I think the opportunity is there to pick up some under-valued stocks and still beat the interest and brokerage fees.

Oh no, don't fret now. You just have to be smart about how you break the news to her. The following scenario might help:

Act 1, scene 1: moneytalk takes wifey to her favorite restaurant and orders her very very favorite entree
Act 1, scene 2: moneytalk begins to say to wifey "ooohhh, i just want you to know just how special you are to me . . . You are absolutely the most [s]oh and by the way I bought shares in wema [/s] wonderful woman in my world, and I'm so blessed to have you . . .
Act 2, scene 1: wifey goes "huh?? you what??" but by this time is too distracted by her favorite dessert and couldn't care less . . .

A perfect ending  cheesy cheesy

Try it out and let us know how it works out for you  wink wink

That one concern full year result. There is no need to hold this one till then. This one na Q-3 result and it rocks!!! By next week you don chop clean mouth.

Something strange about Bank PHB. Only 4M+ units were sold today. There must still be a lot of profit takers outstanding tomorrow and the stock will be under serious pressure again.

Mr. Risky:
Hi bigjay01,
That was an interesting question.  Thought you would have sought the answer before taking the steps in the first place.  This is an open forum.  It is open not because we cannot make our questions intelligent enough.  Freetown doesn't mean "everything" is free in that town! You may wish to read back some clusters of metres to get the answer already given on this thread to the your puzzle!  May we keep the threads short by thinking through our contributions.  Just my 1kobo candid advice!  Sometimes these, unlike in recent past, I read through multiple threads without getting any "meat" to chew!
You sabi the man before ? huh huh huh

I think "Questioners" are very valued contributors to this thread. The answers become benefitial to others that never even thought about the question.

Oya, make you give the man you own answer kia kia. I know say you dey buy PO with 25 names and you dey arrange yourself grin grin grin

Thank you sir for all your efforts and answer to my stupid (and daft) question. If a cheque is sent in the name of Mrs X, can I easily pay it in2 d acct of Mr X. Does anyone have any tips for me please.
Open a Nigerian bank account in each name and lodge the respective cheques.

If they are all in the same surname, depending on the bank, you may be able to lodge in the cheques to one account but I know most banks will not allow this.

Good luck.

You consider a loss of almost 5% as not loosing much? The point as I pointed out yesterday is that the slight loss was likely to trigger panic selling which we've seen today. I sold at N32 yesterday and will cycle back in on Friday if it drops another 5%.
The loss today is significant. More than I expected.

On the other hand, I still think I will sell above N32 before you are able to CICO on this one.grin grin By now most traders have sold and I have to look for good support of the stock price from the fundamentalists.

pumping777,  @Father of 2, easimoni
please which can you put your money on this week between japoul and ikeja hotel at there present price,
considering short term, let say 10% in 1month or 6weeks.

baba of2 good morning hope u are not missing olufunmi too much o!
abi na him dey take care of the engine inside PHBJET, or na too much money no make am show him face again
Like I said yesterday, if you did not buy the Japaul Cinema ticket as adviced last week, you missed the film show. It is now at a price that profit taking is already very attractive even for someone that bought last week. It may not cool down because of the bonus rumour but I will consider that too much of a risk.

Ikeja Hotel is solid at a limit price of N6.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by pumping777(m): 9:33am On Jan 23, 2008
If the net bid on Juli is true then I smell something cooking. There may be plans for a PO or a deliberate attempt to drive the price north by placing a net no limit bid that can never be fulfilled.

oga miiiiiiis, i was offered AAICO @ 4.70 today.do u think its worth it,how far can it go.kindly help.
No. That is too expensive. I expect the initial run to stabilize at around N4.50 - N5 and you'll probably be able to buy a tad lower before then.

@easimoni, wanajo, pumping, would you consider Ikeja hotels a buy at its above figures and current price?
I consider it a solid buy. easimoni already shared the fundamentals. I'm also counting on consistent Q-3 to 4 results to compliment the full year result. My bid price is N6.

CRAZY T, please i been wan ask u .how did u know capoil wuld be moving up, there hav been no result till date. did any of the gurus gave the hint in previous post? i rejoice with u sha! my own go soon come

It’s very funny, but Capoil happen to be one of the first stocks I bought on NSE without any knowledge of how to pick fundamentally good stocks. I bought Afroil and Capoil almost the same time for two reasons
1. because they both carries OIL as part of there names. 2. Because they were cheap and as luck will have it they both appreciate about 3200% and 2600% respectively between 6 to 9 months.

I guess it was a welcome gift from NSE.
Further proof that Keeping It Short and Simple can be very rewarding grin

Temmie10 is back! grin shocked And correct! The prospectus claims N15-16B. With a 25% oversubscription and the 900M shares in GDRs, you get 16B shares and a forward PE of 20
I think we should wait on Q-3 results to agree with this prospectus. They must come up with PAT of at least 10B in Q-3 to make this projection more realistic.

@ all my gurus,

How come most of these banks with high share units are not thinking about share buybacks rather than reconstructions. They have the cash pile up to buy their stock in the open market. How come they are not entertaining this idea. This will therefore reduce number of available shares and increase EPS. What are the benefit of reconstruction compare to Share buybacks?
Share buy back is not legal in Nigeria under the laws and regulations of the SEC.

@pumping?

What figures do you have for FCMB, P.E at the current price?
Forward PE of 30.56. I have included additional shares from 2007 PO including pref. shares and possible 25% over-subscription.

Total shares projected to be listed is 16.95B. Conservative projected Full year pat of 10.7B based on 5.34B half year PAT.
