RoughCut:I don't believe the rumour either but it does fell like some people do and it is reflecting in the blood letting on the banking floor. Foreign investors just need to have doubts and they sit on the fence. Something does not look right sha. |
@WASKY-WAJA I read about your friend's situation and this is my own take. Let me just touch this on the surface because I am really pressed for time and I've got to run. - The risk is very high because of the 6 months window. If the window is 1 year, I will be less critical. - There is a debate as to wether N40M is a lot of money or not. I suspect that for this chap it is. For one thing, having to borrow it and also that this is considered a big opportunity for him. - Paying the interest in advance suggests that your friend does not have a steady source of income external to the portfolio that can be used to meet up with the interest payments. Further buttresses the point that N40M is probably a lot of money to this chap. All above is BTW. Let us look at the operations. You will have the money for 6 months, but you won't be able to trade for the entire 6 months. There will always be lead times and so maybe you can trade for about 5 months before you need to pay up the loan. CICO will be very risky because it is not unusual for CICO to take as much as 3 months to hit your set target. This means some of your funds may not be able to complete 2 cycles before payback is due. CICO with money that is not yours may not give you High BP but it may prevent you from staying in long enough to take your profit. I will recommend you split the funds. Maybe about 25% CICO and medium term for the rest. The floor is bleeding right now. I think the opportunity is there to pick up some under-valued stocks and still beat the interest and brokerage fees. |
Wow, why is there so much blood on banking floor today? Abi the Tribune rumour na true ![]() |
Well, something appears wrong with my profile. It still shows that I am offline ![]() |
dollyp1cute:Na ya own equation be dat o ![]() |
Mariwo:That was my post above. My friend just registered and I did not know I was posting under his profile. |
windywendy:I can tell that this dinner date was over 3 months ago!!! |
dollyp1cute:I no go die from laughter o!!!! This na simple test of Keep It Short and Simple. I just copied every emoticon in the same order as presented in the input panel. But I love your interpretation. U are too several!!! |
windywendy: |
windywendy:That one concern full year result. There is no need to hold this one till then. This one na Q-3 result and it rocks!!! By next week you don chop clean mouth. |
crazyT:Before today it was a rumour. Today it was supported by fact. 9 MONTHS REPORT SEPT 31 2007 UNION HOMES PLC, 9 MONTHS RESULTS FOR THE PERIOD ENDED 31-12-2007 GROSS EARNINGS 07 N5.592b, 06 N5.451b PBT 07 N1.711b, 06 N864m TAXATION 07 (N291m) 06 (N148m) PAT 07 N1.420b, 06 N716m |
dollyp1cute:I intentionally left out the reason. With a little digging you will find out ![]() |
SavvyLanre:My spreadsheet includes PO ordinary or preference shares to be listed in future with provision for 25% oversubscription and known debt conversion to shares. |
Something strange about Bank PHB. Only 4M+ units were sold today. There must still be a lot of profit takers outstanding tomorrow and the stock will be under serious pressure again. I still dey sha. I must exercise my right to greed ![]() |
I'm left with only 40K units of Wema. I will have to forget it for now I offloaded most before the TS. |
Tomorrow is good to enter Union homes o. Check it out yourself and buy your tickets at a ticket master near you. |
Mr. Risky:You sabi the man before ? ![]() I think "Questioners" are very valued contributors to this thread. The answers become benefitial to others that never even thought about the question. Oya, make you give the man you own answer kia kia. I know say you dey buy PO with 25 names and you dey arrange yourself ![]() |
bigjay01:Open a Nigerian bank account in each name and lodge the respective cheques. If they are all in the same surname, depending on the bank, you may be able to lodge in the cheques to one account but I know most banks will not allow this. Good luck. |
oshkosh:The loss today is significant. More than I expected. On the other hand, I still think I will sell above N32 before you are able to CICO on this one. By now most traders have sold and I have to look for good support of the stock price from the fundamentalists. |
afamako:Correct. |
tommy t:Like I said yesterday, if you did not buy the Japaul Cinema ticket as adviced last week, you missed the film show. It is now at a price that profit taking is already very attractive even for someone that bought last week. It may not cool down because of the bonus rumour but I will consider that too much of a risk. Ikeja Hotel is solid at a limit price of N6. |
If the net bid on Juli is true then I smell something cooking. There may be plans for a PO or a deliberate attempt to drive the price north by placing a net no limit bid that can never be fulfilled. |
iconbull:No. That is too expensive. I expect the initial run to stabilize at around N4.50 - N5 and you'll probably be able to buy a tad lower before then. |
invisible!:I consider it a solid buy. easimoni already shared the fundamentals. I'm also counting on consistent Q-3 to 4 results to compliment the full year result. My bid price is N6. |
crazyT:Further proof that Keeping It Short and Simple can be very rewarding ![]() |
easimoni:I think we should wait on Q-3 results to agree with this prospectus. They must come up with PAT of at least 10B in Q-3 to make this projection more realistic. |
Femtex:Share buy back is not legal in Nigeria under the laws and regulations of the SEC. |
yodiyokun:Forward PE of 30.56. I have included additional shares from 2007 PO including pref. shares and possible 25% over-subscription. Total shares projected to be listed is 16.95B. Conservative projected Full year pat of 10.7B based on 5.34B half year PAT. |
RoughCut:Ha! As usual. You too dey see tomorrow today Make you borrow me your eye glasses small now. |
husu:Ha you too observant. 7 gbosas for you jare. I feel like today is my birthday sef ![]() |
crazyT:I fit talk on UNIC but make you tell me how much you take buy. |
RoughCut:And they are very scarce. |
