At least, you know the state of your trade abi!

My own account officer could not tell me whether it was successful or not - I called him on the phone ooo.

I think I better ask them to sign me up for trade alert, because all this is tiring -You will pursue them for 3 days before you know if your trade is successful, by that time train don leave Union station
Why don't you just set up online access to your CSCS account? This comes with an alert.

This alert is different from the trade alert which tells you that a broker INTENDS to carry out a transaction on your account and you can reply to prevent that transaction. I believe you just want to know the status of your instructions.
--------
What is the NSE/CSCS Trade Alert?

The NSE/CSCS Trade Alert is an Investor Protection Scheme from the Central Securities Clearing System of   the Nigerian Stock Exchange which notifies you every time your stocks are traded on the floor of the Exchange. The share holder automatically gets an SMS message on his or her GSM phone notifying him or her of the transaction before it is completed. This means you can abort the transaction with a simple call if you did not authorise it.

So many pages!!! Finally made it. I was in a long haul flight today and just recovering from jet lag. Hence I was MIA.

Fo2 - I have to make a temporary stop over for refueling and picking up my PZ zoomthing at the hotel.

Cabin crew and passengers aboard the PHB flight. No shivering. I told you yesterday there is no real turbulence in sight. Those that were not wearing their seat belts sold at the lower end of the market today. Wait for your 25%. PHB rally is based on good results. As traders exit, fundamentalists will fill the void and prevent a collapse.

Hear it again. CILeasing will continue to go up until end year results. The same with Japaul. Don't bother looking for them in the basement. You can go for short dips.

Afribank PO is officially confirmed as the worst banking PO in recent times. If you bought today, you are less than N2 short of the PO price and you can start trading immediately. Maybe Monday will bring even more surprises.

Yes, you can open a stock broking account without being in Nigeria. I have never seen my broker before.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by pumping777(m): 9:53pm On Jan 17, 2008
invisible!:
I bought Afribank today, but it will lose tommorow from the look of things, it closed on offer and high/low were all the same at minus 5% If it does I better average it by more buys on monday.
Forget that net clo bid you saw from today. Many will be withdrawn by tomorrow as the lower price becomes unattractive to sellers.

Just take note of one thing. If the stock drops another 10%, the price will be less than the offer price of the just concluded PO of N25. Somehow I don't see it happening.

There is one big problem though. Afribank has come out with Q-3 results already and End of Year is March, so what exactly can be used to stabilize or push up the price?? Hmm, Abracadabra.

UNIC:

I think towards end of next week will be better to position for UNIC. The insurance stocks will lose momentum next week and I suspect Unic will join them despite the losses this week.

What is wrong with Diamond Bank -- it cannot sustain a bull run if its life depended on it hen.

I am selling - I am sick and tired of it ojere

Profit taking is happening on A.G leventis - Grabdaloot

Its seems investors are reacting -vely to the UNIC result,

It doesn't look like Oceanic will see 25 in the nearest future oo.

Anyway make we wait and see.

@ Pumping what is UNIC's P.E at todays price of 4.18? I never update my spreadsheet with the recent results.

I suspect LawUnion wants to come to the market it has defied the law of gravity -- haba.
Unic's forward PE is 28.72.

I just press the ejector capsule from inside the Lawunion rocket today. Hopefully I go land for another fully gassed turbo jet engine. Did somebody say Aiico??

how can PHB from 51M bid and exchanged ony 12M today now have a bid of less than 1M something is suspect here. am watching closely. Please fasten your seat belts i sense some temporary turbulence ahead. Someone wants to cause panic sell and then buy at a lower price. Nairalanders be watchful.

Thanks to Nairaland and my experience with NASCON am a lot smarted now. Someone asked me about BigTreat just yesterday, say the thing dey rise make e put money there. I advise him not to unless he will be happy to receive 1 years free bread supply in exchange for his funds, dah    grin grin

As for me and my house we are on board PHB without fear.

PS. Britsh Airways crash landed at Heathrow London today. Lets pray for journey mercies for all our friends and family oh!
Quite possible. Many profit takers would have withdrawn their bids after envisaging the 10% rise by today. Today's price will probably already exit their limit price. No one likes money loafing with stockbrokers

On the other hand, I don't expect any serious turbulence till next week where there is sufficient profit to take. We may stop seeing 5% daily rise but the 20%-25% will be reached by next week.

I never reach my cruising altitude. Please secure your safety belts.

whats it with ikeja hotelshuh any fundamentals to back this uphuhwhats decent entry point.
also is it time to sell UPL, your opinion is highly valued
Fundmamentals I can tell you is solid with forward PE under 13. Entry point will be a debate.

For me, it is still good at it's current price. The fundamentals is of secondary consideration to me in this case. Other reasons wey I take tanda for the stock.

I'm not sure anyone is chasing Big Treat here. The volume is not worth the effort. Money making will be for the PP subscribers when they have verified their certificates. See Transexpr too. The same story although no outstanding PP certificates in this case. The stock has risen about 800% in the last 5 months alone but who is trading? Na to siddon look for outsiders.

ACCESS BANK PLC, UNAUDITED NINE MONTHS RESULT ENDED DECEMBER 31, 2007

TURNOVER 07 N41.890b, 06 N17.127b

PBT 07 N13.153b, 06 N4.303b

TAXATION 07 (N4.2b) 06 (N1.075b)

PAT 07 N8.994b, 06 N3.227b

About PZ, hmm, remember your statement few posts ago, don't let the crowd head in it's direction before you take position, maybe you have already for you to say it here, don't think it will drop so much more.remember ikeja hotels.
One poor late interim result, followed by a good on time interim result. They have pulled this on us time after time (apologies to Cyndi Lauper  grin). PZ has dropped consistently for 3 days, but the drops are marginal so I'm not pulling the trigger.

Ikeja Hotels? Have you forgotten them?? There is still more money to make from the stock short or long term.

We talked about Fidelity last week. Profit taking will be ripe by next week.

Folks already alerted us to Afribank today. It will happen. This dip will stop and the stock will rise. They will most likely support it with some rumour and then back it with some interim result.

Also we already know that there may be 2 interim results almost back to back. Wema, Access. Whatever, the price will rise beyond the TS price iin the short run and then it's time smile to the bank.

Did someone say PZ, ? Yes, another candidate. Agreed the price is falling because of the mediocre results, but some people are not even aware of results and just buy. But this one needs to fall some more sha.

Hello oga pumping, I can see you are pumping from all cylinders. It is well, as we enjoy this PHB flight, let's not take away our eyes from the juicy opening of our dearNSE, which I've come to realize happens everyday. Because I'm beginnig to build up holdings in one conglo, like FO2 will say
You do well. Conglo style. Yes I dey enjoy this ride. The good thing is that I have another surer ride that I will be hopping on to after or even before this one. AIICO. That one is heading to Mars. Fear no even gree me apply for position of Captain.

No conglo for me. I am actually refining all my strategies and raised my targets for this year. The returns this January alone has made my forecast for the year very unambitious. I have to raise my bar and find new strategies now because I believe most of the strategies I employed in January will not work into the year.

I have inspiration from this guy that made a kill from the sub-prime mortgage saga in the US. I want to be sure I am against the crowd as much as possible. Most are are combination of mine and the strategies of others on this thread. I am seeing the evidence that once everyone knows about a working formular it stops working as well.

It is strange how the killer deals are the ones most people never look at because the stocks don't really look good at all. Deap Capital is a very very good example. It was glaring but even I missed it but only just because I was greedy and put in a low bid. Right now it is the fastest flying jet liner on the NSE and the jet appears to run on air.

I laughed at Japaul at N7 even though I know it is seriously sentimental stock and will perform even if the interim results are average. Well, there.

Oh thank you very much. Sorry I thought PO is a Jet, let me call it kabukabu lol.

I pray it will not be oversuscribed and if over suscribed that they should absorb all. I hope that is possible.
Unfortunately this is no longer possible and it will be bad if they did anyway because over-dilution is another problem. See what is happening to Oceanic.

Due to new SEC rules, companies can only accommodate a maximum of 25% oversubscription in a PO.

Pumping,

Those who entered the PHB jet in the airport (not in the private air strip) what prospect do they have considering the delay in certificate issuance?

Cheers!
Nothing to fear as long as you are not hit too hard by oversubscription. I am in that train too (That one is not a jet).

Remember that PO subscribers to the PHB offer are entitled to bonus and/or dividends. Now if we recall that the PO was at N17. N17 Naira? Chei. End of story. I think there is assurance of good capital gains on the stock via the PO.

Oversubscription is another story.
