hispy99:This looks like a poor result considering Q-2 PAT was N119.5M but maybe it is in line with the quarterly trend.? ![]() |
easimoni:Wow. Interesting. So where did you get this update from? I will see if Meristem provides the update today. Just worried about how easy it can be to lose tract of the right figures for this ins. cos. |
ebony9ja:Something in the PP prospectus. 1.49B shares are expected to be outstanding in 2008 and 2009. |
palemoon:There are rumours of a PO in March so you may want to wait to ride on a likely rally. |
iconbull:I dey o. How body for there? Na water dey inside my pocket o. I posted some data on the fundamentals yesterday. It looks good. I will wait on ebony9ja to make the rumour stronger. |
bibiking1:Juli is a pharmaceutical company (Juli Pharmacy) but please take your money elsewhere. For a start you should note that the stock is hardly ever traded and when it is the volumes are low and usually only one deal. Only once this month has there been more than 1 deal a day. 4 deals. There has been no result for several years. The latest one I can find is from 2004 and the company declared a loss. Same with the previous year. The "owner" of the company is a former health minister though he had set up the company several years before he became minister. As far as I am concerned it is a one man PLC. Unless you hear the company wants to come and do a PO don't go near it. |
ebony9ja:Ha. Thank you for this. Since only 1B shares were listed the figures did not add up to me. I missed my order on Thursday because I bid N3.9 .Please don't forget to update us on the outcome of the meeting o. If you send me the conf call details, I am too happy to join ![]() @easimoni - I beg look at these figures. You know you are the doyen of outstanding shares and even better things ![]() |
wanaj0:Is the discussion to reduce the entry point for you in particular or general consideration? I am interested but will not want to commit more than $50K ![]() |
wanaj0:BGL is accepting minimum of $200K for it's investment vehicle for MTN PP. Make I make way for the big boyz and galz. ![]() |
Regarding Oceanic's outstanding shares, Meristem came out with 25B shares. I can't figure it out. Any debt conversion or preferential share listing for Oceanic? ----------- OCEANIC BANK INTERNATIONAL PLC -- New listing A total of 10,579,362,588 Ordinary shares of the Bank were listed today at N16.50k following the conclusion of the Bank's Public Offer for Subscription and supplementary Shares alloted. This brings the Bank's total shares outstanding to 25,131,878,869.25 as of date. ------ |
@shigidi Welcome back. For where you bin go hide? Projecting PAT. I think it all depends on personal preference. I use both and I tend to stick with the lower figure so far it is reasonable. Based on this, the forward PE I have for Oceanic is around 18. |
@easimoni - no word back on the Deap Capital query from yesterday. As predicted the stock made a rebound today with 5% gain. My bid was too low and I missed it yesterday ![]() |
kpineo:I feel you on this one. 2 more major drops will land the stock in the basement. I don set up tent there with a make-shift on the ground floor in case the elavator go jam for there ![]() |
kpineo:As all of us don strategize for this Bank PHB post TS, I hope we will find folks that are going to buy o If na to bring them come from moon, it must happen!!Somehow I don't see Oceanic dropping to N25 but nothing surprises moi on the NSE. That will be juicy; short, medium or long term. |
ololufemi:The forecast in the PO prospectus was 16B+ so I feel this just meets expectations. Of course this result can still prompt even further interest in the stock and getting it while on TS now will be near impossible since TS will be over soon. |
walcolm:I megauploaded the Access Bank allotment here, http://www.megaupload.com/?d=2DY0H1ZB |
grabdaloot:Anything you find on that NSE website has to be validated. Generally the outstanding shares listed for companies is not up to date. Livestock has 1.2B shares. There was no reconstruction and NSE did not withdraw shares from existing shareholders. I have about 176M shares outstanding fo Longman. If any of these has changed, it will be announced on the floor of the NSE. |
damoche07:Yes, this fiscal year. |
@krush - If you are talking of volume raised, then we should be talking about Zenith and Oceanic. UBA will not be in the same category. Let us just bear in mind that there are other sources of raising funds and at least we know UBA is tapping into this so I am not saying UBA is short of funds. As far as I'm concerned the interim results of UBA, First Bank, Zenith and Oceanic are all in the same region plus or minus. It is the fundamentals that differ due to the number of outstanding shares. Zenith can currently complete with these other banks with it's current balance sheet. With this new PO they will really have an edge in terms of funds raised via PO. |
Krrush:I don't know if this is a valid theory. If I recall correctly, Zenith's last PO was around February 2006 while that of UBA was in March 2007 so Zenith has had more time. This new PO by Zenith na "jara". That apart, what do you mean by catch up? Zenith is not lacking behind now. They have declared the highest Half-Year so far even ahead of First Bank. |
@omoba3 - You disagree with me come follow with . Sure say you no be politician? ![]() Anyway I don't know why you disagree. Do you know how many units I will buy? I have told you the caveat. Don't buy too many units. As an example don't buy more than 5,000 units of Zenith in each tranch. If you need 5 million units, be ready for 1,000 applications. This is unreasonable of course so be reasonable and apply for less units. If you have 5 names, you can conveniently go for 25,000 units of Zenith. It is not a lot but it is reasonable to minimize returned money. As an example I subscribed for 35,000 units from the First bank PO (dumb decision) and got only about N170K returned in total. I am not complaining. It would not have been smart if I was looking for 100,000 units from the PO. If I needed more I should have gone to the secondary market or organized more children (and spouses if necessary) quick quick . |
Acorn Petroleum The projection is that PAT will increase from N2.98M YE June 2007 to N105.26M YE June 2008. This is within 1 year even though more than half of the fiscal year is gone already? ![]() They should back it up with Q-1 result for 2007 |
Acorn Oil PP Prospectus The projections look too good to be true. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=OY61BRN3 Enter the characters in the text box and click "download". |

bigjay01:Ha. You did not digest my post well ![]() Since you are buying so many units, u need to increase your family size I come from a family of 8 kids. My Papa or Mama no fit get problem with oversubsription lai lai ![]() On a serious note, note that I also mentioned that you should not buy too much. Splitting 1 million units of Dangote flour in four tranches is no good. I know someone on this thread that bought Aiico in 13 tranches for only 2.6M units. That's the way to do it if you are so concerned about oversubscription. |
Who knows the ratio for the rights subscription for Deap Capital and also if the price is N1 per share? |
For those complaining about PO oversubscription, I don't understand it. This is already a known fact which you should figure into your calculations. Buy in multiple tranches and don't buy too much. Simple enough so you don't scream blood when money is being returned. Consider it long term investing. Buy for your spouse and your children. This is easy enough. Have more children if necessary ![]() |
@ ololufemi and yodiyokun Una don start. Make you let the price drop finish before talk go enter ![]() Ololufemi, see how your eyes have carried Lawunion back to the 2nd floor instead of it's destined ground floor. I go vex o ![]() |
wanaj0:The point I am making is that mulitiple strategies work. Long term, short term, medium term. Whichever one pleases you. On the other hand short term trading has the potential for higher returns but involves higher risk. As a long term investor, it may not matter much if you buy First Bank at N40 or N45. For a short term trading this margin may mean the difference between profit and loss. |
ololufemi:Like wanaj0 just reminded us, everyone's risk appetite is different. There are long term investors. It is also a strategy that works. One thing I can tell you about short term traders is that they rarely share the experience of their losses. You can make 34% short term but you now have to put that money somewhere else and start sweating it out. The long term investor is not in this same game. If prices go up unusually, long term investors can take profit but this is not the plan. |
Ije ngala:Please share the logic of this recommendation apart from the price of NGC. The list is based on a 12-18 months outlook so I think NGC is not an expensive stock. I hope you know even Julius Berger doubled it's price in the last quarter of '07 alone. |
ololufemi:No. N10/N11 is closer to N12 than to N8. Haba. Which kin mathematics be dat. |
