Make I remind una of 2 of the golden stocks from last week. Japaul and CILeasing. Na to award them golden globe awards. For now, these stocks require no analysis. If you did not buy your tickets at a cinema near you last week, I will have to tell you about the film. Fine actors I heard. |
beginner:You want to dash away your profit. The off loaders will soon run out of steam. Small patience and you will collect your profit. |
upward:The man talk am last week o. With all the luggage wey him carry enter the plane he no go fit carrry passenger for head too. ![]() |
oshkosh:Well, if your limit price was N32 your chances of success become limited and you can't really blame your broker. Anyway, I hope you sell. Today will not be the best day. I will sell above N32 very soon. I like guaranteed "jara". |
FatherOF2:You talk am. I hope you carry some nairlaand passengers enter with you. |
oshkosh:Just place your order. This one na small aircraft and no standy passengers. Q-1 Result Turnover/PAT - 12.5B/2.8B Outstanding shares without PO shares to be listed - 7.5B. (I don't know why you want to use this figure sha) Even with the PO shares and 25% oversubscription, the forward PE is around 17. Chei!!! |
FatherOF2:I talk am say a gradual loss of engine power is expected but l no worry at all. I go kick in the reserve engine for safe landing by Thursday/Friday. |
crazyT:And don't forget to show your appreciation. (Not by text message like someone said on this thread sha) ![]() |
Afribank will have a tough time holding on to yesterday's gain but if it pulls it off today coasting should be possible already this week. |
blueband:And of course made profit which you forgot to share with us Enjoy your gains my brother. |
iconbull:That is high. N31.50 would have been a reasonable limit for today. I expect the price today to range from around N31 to around N32.50. The stock will probably end up with only marginal gains today anyway or even a loss so you should be able to get around or below the median price. The loss does not translate to panic though if it does happen. |
husu:Today should be a good day. If it falls again today you may benefit by buying at a lower price than yesterday's closing price and it is more likely your trade will be executed. Also, if the price falls today, I will expect a turnaroud by tomorrow or latest on Thursday. |
invisible!:I did not use the word minimal but you will see that it is exactly what I also implied. I just don't agree that we are 100% immune. I know the first thing many people think is that if these markets crash then the funds will move here. Good logic but the problem is that the our market is still TOO small. I believe I read somewhere that the capitalization of the entire NSE is about the same as that of McDonalds. So while foreign market players will boost the market positively, there are other negative impacts of a recession in the US and other matured economies. Bringing funds into the capital market to chase few stocks is one thing but creating econonic activity which is the stimulant for real economic growth is by far more important. |
iconbull:1. I think it will last for more than 2 weeks. There is serious loss of investor confidence. 2. The length of time does not really matter since there is no restriction on the amount of value a stock can lose or gain in a single day like we have on the NSE. Imagine some stocks losing like 25% or higher in a single day. These markets can crash in less than a week. 3. NSE is not 100%immune. Nigerian economy prosperity is also linked to globalization. NSE will not be hit hard but some impact will be felt. Many of our banks for instance have looked outside our shores for investments. Good returns from such expansion plans are threatened. Also imagine that facilities such as loans and grants from foreign govenments or institutions will be affected. These all have a role to play in stimulating the economy by creating jobs or domestic demand for goods and services. |
upward:This explains"pending" status in your CSCS account. If you click on the stock, you get the details of the trade that has changed the status to "pending". In your stock broker's account "pending" will usually mean that the trade has not been executed. I think this is the situation of help me. |
The party for Mbenefit should start today preferably with another drop. Check it out and if convinced, pick up a ticket at a box office near you. Make your hotel reservation for about 1 and a half weeks. Unfortunately I will be unavoidably absent at this bash. Interesting thing. Mbenefit has only appreciated by about 30% since the release of the consolidation funds. This is very small compared to other insurance stocks that have done 70% and over. |
RoughCut:My reference to refueling na just to say the price fit see downside for some time on the floor yesterday and not stay on 5% max gain all day. Some may have offloaded some luggage at that point. Not me sha. I no offload nada from my luggage rara till I reach cruising altitude and then ejector button one time! Swoosh! |
easimoni:Ha. The leopard will not change it's spots o. I still stick to my fundamentals but won't miss an obvious CICO opportunity. I even have 30 as my forward PE since my projected PAT is 10B. I bought Afribank at a forward PE of 29 but you probably won't find me with the stock by next week. I don't see too much of a downside in Afribank after the dip to N26. Look at Access as an example. The forward PE was as high as 40 before the Q-3 results and even now the forward PE is 33 and the stock is still on an up trend. UBA is the best bet for me in banking right now and I am up to my neck in it. Afribank na side betting. |
Prince11:UBA jet has some slight engine problems. Be patient. Some turbo jets will soon be released to aid it's flight. |
invisible!:Look at the daily stock position delivered by Kpineo and NBA to see that Afribank is on net bid. |
upward:Funny enough I did not board this flight. Instead I have put all my eggs in one basket of Afribank with each egg costing N26.16. The only fear is that any turbulence can break the eggs but the Captain has assured me of no such surprises. |
Ha. So did this market catch anyone napping? I know una all dey too much to allow that to happen. Let us recap from last week. Afribank - Did you get your bonus at N26.16 at a store near you as adviced? This is just history repeating itself. Rinse and Repeat. Now the stock is on net bid. Let's not be caught napping again. and again. AirPHB - I took permission that I will be pausing for some gas today and I did at N29.60 per gallon. Now I have raised altitude to N30.98 and I still have net thrust. Traders against Fundamentalists. Fundamentalists always win. Long term buyers don't worry about paying 5% premium. The Captain told you to wait for your 25% and you were shaking. Please hold on tight. Slight turbulence ahead but we are holding steady for a couple more days and not going back near TS altitude. |
help me:You have to be careful here. The fact that the price of a stock rose to your offer price does not mean it should have been sold. There may not be enough demand available at that price to mop up the shares of everyone that offered at your price or even higher. Most sales for the day may have been at a price below your offer price. The same thing applies to when you are trying to buy. You may not get the stock at the lowest or near low price of the day because there may not be many traders that offered to sell at that low price. As much as you can, be practical when setting a price cap. Asking your broker to sell a stock at +4% of today's closing price for a stock tomorrow that is not on a serious bull run will usually lead to disappointment. I paid the price for example when I offered to buy DeapCapital at a limit price of N3.90. I still do this but I don't complain when my order is not executed. |
@upward - I dey your side and I'm checking my fuel level on the Bank PHB Turbo Jet. I may need to make a small stopover today to top up but it won't be for long. Don't get off the flight then though because the terminal building is still some distance away. |
hispy99:I think it means BONUS if we do well this year. If Q-1 momentum is maintained, DPS of up to N2 and bonus shares will not come as a surprise. If they are increasing it now, I think they plan to use it this year. |
eniyanman:Bank PHB and Japaul would have failed based on this system. You need to look at each company individually. Practically all the companies manipulate prices upwards before a PO. |
eniyanman:All the banks that merged wrote off goodwill. Not a big deal. Rising tide? So how do you explain Afribank? What is wrong with Musiliu Smith? Government connection no bad now. |
faketan: ![]() I knew I was trespassing with all that politcal jist on this thread. Abeg back to NSE jo. |
aktopgun:I'm definitely with you here and I don't believe Nigerians in Diaspora have a special responsibility beyond that of Nigerians at home. The history of developed nations show that there have been times when they are much worse than we are now. It is usually the voice of the people that force the leaders to do the right things. I'll do my best and leave the rest. Ok. I give up. No more political discussion for me. ***Our prayers remain with Tobechukwu and we eagerly await your testimony. It is well. |
eniyanman:Ha. Skye has a scoresheet which you can review. Real numbers. I am not swayed by the Q-1 results so I will even discount their projections. Even at that, they are fundamentally sound. Yes, they have amalgamated but they have come out strong and the numbers are there to back it up. If you are a PO lover, the discount is genuine and significant. The projections in the prospectus are very achievable. The bank owns 51% of Lawunion. Did you say something about the board?? Because you don't know them now? ? Soon you will. You have forgotten that the young shall grow. |
@wanajo - You have spoken very well. Anywhere I am asked to pay tax, and it is legal, I pay, Naija included. Yes, we don't have light and roads, but it is my country and I really can't have another one. Foreign passport or not. I pay first and complain later. Charity is also a very good option. Think of many Nigerians that are starved of the opportunity of quality basic education because of poverty. I truly agree that if you make money somewhere you should give something back. Some of us are on our last lap and heading back to the motherland. Naija rules!! |
alliednetw: alliednetw:Very shady. To imagine all the so called reputable Nigerians that went canvassing for the PO after folks showed no interest. It was seriously overvalued and the discount compared to the floor price was minimal. So unsuspecting folks would have been buying the PO at N25 when some folks were selling to themselves on the floor for N20? Na wa o. BTW. I know Wanaj0 already mentioned SKYE so you heard it first from the Oracle. If you are a PO candidate, the PO is juicy in my opinion and the stock is another one that will be launched on a jet liner after TS is lifted. Get some when you can at a store near you. |
